Phil, Grace, and Micah will be missed...

When Eric picked me up this morning, he wondered if I'd spent time with Chinese Eric and Nathan yesterday. NO! IT WAS A FAMILY LUNCH! He complained about traffic while I found my lunch ticket, then he said that he should be at church by 9. That was currently not possible, as it was 8:55! I just hoped that Stanford isn't the type to yell at his minions, although I'm sure he can be quite intense at the restaurant! It was mainly a quiet ride over, but he did observe that I seemed to be in full DRAGON WARRIOR mode on Friday evening when he'd called - oh yes, and DRAGON QUEST V is next, which he's never played! He also wondered whether Steph and Lisa's wedding gift of pottery was all right, since my dad hadn't been driving too smoothly the night of the baby banquet. I guess I'll have to remember to ask them about it on Thursday!

Got to church, where I unloaded my extra Z-Grip pens on Priscilla and Joanna while waving to a VERY pregnant Alysia. I saw Jon, who said that Harmony and Ayler would come later... he was there to lead worship! Was going to sit in my usual spot, but I saw Darren C. and Jason - since I never see Jason more than once a year, I moved. He showed me lots of Calgary and Edmonton pictures on his phone, while asking me about Taiwan / my church / small groups and things like that. No, I don't have a phone - otherwise, I could keep in touch with him that way since he doesn't really use Facebook anymore! It's always good seeing him, though! (he said "God Bless" - that's totally fine!) Julie and Jeremy did indeed get baptized, so I gave them their cards later, for which they thanked me. Talked to Auntie Catherine, Sophia (her daughter Olivia is almost SEVEN already, and her mom told her about Grandma), Andrew L. (who's always tired - NOT NEWS!), and others before going upstairs.

At Toddler Sunday School, only David / Evelyn / Ashley / Anastasia were there! Lanie, Danny, and I had an easier time; James was clingy and crying too much, so he went with his mom. Priceless doctor advice from little Evelyn: "I'm going to check your head.... yes, there's something wrong. Your brain is playing tennis right now!" Talked about Lego, the panda and other animals on my BORN TO BE WILD shirt, elephants, fire engines, building a fort, climbing the door, cleaning up, and more. Went downstairs for lunch, where I was able to grab a seat in the crowded room. Stanford went all-out for the ten courses, and poor Christon was continually checking on things! The videos were good, but startled baby Ayler! Discussed Victoria, weddings, chow mein, drunken chicken, leftovers, curry noodles, tea, lemonade, sweet and sour pork, and much more with Alan / Tracy / Jon / Harmony / Edwin / Jane. When everything ended, I said hi to David M. while playing with Micah for about an hour. He's smart, and knows Jon Chan plays drums and Margaret plays guitar. I'm sure he liked his Uncle Angus scooping him up and playing with him!

Gave Grace a card and some stickers for Micah; it was just a little thing, but she thanked me anyway. I told Margaret that I was having issues with being a GOO-MAH and not a GOO-JEH, hahaha. Made plans with Deb and Dylan to go over on Wednesday to play with Declan, heh. Yes, he wanted my hat and glasses, but THAT WASN'T HAPPENING! I talked to Randal for a bit - YES, I WAS AT SERVICE TODAY! He says he believes me even if I wasn't in my usual spot, hahaha. When Eric finally got going, we said goodbye / see you soon to everyone, and got plenty of leftovers. He thought I was drunk, but that wasn't true at all. Then he wanted to drop me off at #4 / Alderbridge, but I didn't think that was a good idea. We discussed fight music, his latest FB display picture (not a WOW character, but himself with a shirt featuring Jon's head multiple times!), town music, how I should change mine since it's three months old (BOOTY LOGO!), and more. I'm sure he'll bug me on Friday!

Baby Olive, Hayden, Silas, Pho Thai Son

I was a bit late meeting Eric, but he said I'd sounded tired on the phone: NO, REALLY?! He joked that I was drunk, asked if I wanted to get tattoos (Steph and Lisa have that covered), wondered if I'd finished MOTHER 1 yet (then said that I was playing DRAGON WARRIOR III one too many times), tested me on PEACHES by POTUSA, said that yesterday's barbecue went pretty well with chicken drumsticks and thighs / raw veggies / watermelon, and said he'd gotten back on Thursday. GOOD THING I MANAGED TO FIX THE ROUTER MYSELF, THEN! I had brought some breakfast biscuits to eat in the car (but forgot water), and he thought they were cookies: close enough, I guess? When we got to church, I talked to Randal about his "nuts" message / waved back at Victor when he said hi / said hi to Jeremy and his parents / officially met Pastor Dan / said hi to Tim, Joshua (whose birthday is today), Keenan, and baby Emma. After service, I talked for a bit to Darren, who's back from Ireland for a month! Talked to Auntie Ying about getting together when Phil leaves, to Auntie Catherine about her father (Mom's attempted guilt trips don't work since I didn't even know he was dead till then! - Auntie Susan said the name wasn't recognizable in the bulletin), said hi to baby Rebecca and her mom Jane, and talked to baby Ayler. He smiled at me and grabbed my finger! ♥ [Harmony told people that the baby loves interacting with others, and babbles all the time!]

Before I went to Toddler Sunday School, I said hi to Benedict, Anita, Amos, and Harrison. Also saw Chung Ming with his wife Ellen: they have a nine-month-old baby girl named Olive! Also saw Dave and Tiffany, who are back in town for a short while - good to see them! Chrystal said hi, so we talked for a bit about Grandma and possible get-togethers; we didn't go see the fireworks since that scene is CRAZY! Said hi to Melia, who has seen puppy Havarti already! I saw Lanie, Quan, Silas, Danny, Anastasia, Hayden, James, Hymn, Natalie, and Ashley at Toddler Sunday School. Talked about toys, dragons in space, drawing, Lego, fake food, caramel popcorn, Chinese / Filipino festivals, and more. After Sunday School, I asked Kevin whether he'd seen Eric; nope! Talked to Andrew and Adam about being tired, my video games, seeing family, and more. Eric came up as I was doing that, and wondered if I'd seen Christon. He was helping to serve food in the fellowship hall for the senior lunch; a phone call later, we were meeting Jon at Pho Thai Son for our own lunch! Talked to Eric about that Native guy I'd seen before Sunday School; apparently, his name is Godwin. Haven't encountered that name in YEARS, man!

PHO THAI SON was interesting! We talked about yesterday's BBQ, Christon spilling iced coffee on us, girl children named Carson (?!), the "Food and Film" Evite (which Jon reminded me of), Jeremy's renovations, intensive French onion soup, weddings, the Olympics, Kent's Kitchen takeout, and more. On the way home, Eric said that we were going to Pastor Bob's on Friday for a Spiritual Care program and potluck dinner - oh, religion! We also learned that Our Lady Peace (4 AM) is adult alternative / classic rock... that's the stuff WE listen to, man! Managed to open my new whiteout, and then started some laundry. Mom wants me to visit Grandma on both Tuesday and Wednesday, too.

Rainbow Chelita, Advent Desert bones, and energy!

I was up at noon for the first time in maybe a month, which is VERY good for the sleep debt! Chelita (rainbowchelita) messaged me on AIM because she thought I was someone else, hahaha. I updated her on stuff, then. Went to visit Grandma, who could be discharged to Dogwood tomorrow morning - good news, for once. She seemed to have a bit more energy and was sitting in her wheelchair; I spoon-fed her some soup with garlic in it (Mom thinks it'll prolong Grandma's life by months), and discovered that she thought I was Steph!

Mom gave me some sausages and soft Hello Kitty candy; since you have to cook the sausage first (I prefer pre-cooked stuff) AND it's not the type of candy I'd eat much of, I just threw it out when I got home. David S. invited me to an RQ Facebook group, and already Mer is wondering about it! Evelyn decided to accept it, and Brian's defending me. It's not like I will do a bunch of stuff there, hahaha. (they took me out of there within hours, though) Called both Jon and Lillian to update them on things: Lillian can pick me up tomorrow at 9 for the transfer at 10, which is fine.

BAD NEWS ON THE HORIZON

Went to the hospital, and saw Auntie Kwai there with Cousin Lillian, whom I hadn't seen in YEARS! She quickly told me stuff about Grandma, and then said that she'll be here for a week. Her sister Yvonne landed here tonight with her husband William and daughter Andrea (they're staying with his family in Port Coquitlam), so I might be seeing them. Jon came by later, just in time for a CT scan on Grandma. We caught up with Lillian, who says her brother Aaron is working in Korea from Hong Kong; wow! Later, we received some bad news from the doctor - MALIGNANT BRAIN TUMOR?! That might explain why Grandma's been going downhill so quickly in the last month. Jon says that a lot of people at church know where Grandma is now, and we stayed with her for a few hours more. We answered everyone's questions as best we could, translated where needed (but Grandma was still confused!), and figured that our parents not talking was less important than this. Maybe if Uncle Michael and Mom are face to face, things will be better?

Jon says that he would email Steph and Lisa when he got home (it's easier for them to change their flight!), knows that Harmony understands his not being home to help take care of the baby, and was wondering whether he should let Mom and Dad know NOW or in a few days when they get back. We figured that we shouldn't ruin the cruise, and that any biopsy surgery might be traumatic for Big G. If the life expectancy is about three months at the most, then we need to stop being in denial pretty soon. Later, we told Grandma we'd be going - Lillian gave us rides home, but she and I stopped by the Korean BBQ place across from #9 to have some Korean noodles / rice / soup to eat first. She was at the hospital all day, and she'll pick me up tomorrow too. I got home to email Eric Ho FIRST / the BS group second, and the chair broke on me as I was sitting in it! Then I got a message from Teresa L. about whether I still talk to David S. - nope!

Elvis, Jimi Hendrix, slot machines, poker, and blackjack!

Talked to Corey on Skype messages for a while last night; we discussed Jane's whereabouts, sex, David S., my parents, people getting married by Elvis or Jimi Hendrix impersonators in Vegas, Baby Dragon, reserving tickets for Penn and Teller, the Grand Canyon, Steph, Lisa, gambling (expect to LOSE), and more. It's interesting! "Well, that's what I'd advise NOT doing, unless you're really good at poker or blackjack or something where skill actually plays a factor... even then, it's not a great idea. :P People say that if you go there, you should have some amount you're willing to just lose; spend that, and quit. Basically, go in expecting to lose. :P Then you won't keep throwing money away trying to win. Just have fun with that amount and go home."

"Well, you can gamble on the slot machines basically all night without spending a ton of money. I think those supposedly have a 99% return rate or something... so basically, you're going to lose, but you're going to lose it very slowly. :P And you never know, the jackpots are real... those card games have a skill element, though. If you know how to play those, you really can win. There are professional poker players now that just gamble in the casinos all day. They go to the low-stakes tables to win an amount they can live on, plus extras, which is no sweat for those guys. Then they win some more to play with, and take it to the high-stakes tables, and try to get lucky, and do sometimes. But..... if you're not really really good, you'll get cleaned out in no time. My brother-in-law plays poker constantly, and it sounds like he pretty much got destroyed at the poker tables in Vegas... so how much are you going to gamble?" Hahahaha, probably next to nothing! (considering my budget...)

Gotye, high tea, requests, knowing me too well, and DVD!

Called Jon earlier; we talked about babies, high tea, requests, Eric Ho and his well-wishes, awkwardness, and his knowing me too well. Hey, I will definitely respect wishes in this case! I know that he and Harmony know what is REALLY going on, even if others don't! I've also eaten the last of my Birthday Cake Oreos that I got on March 29 from Save-On-Foods.

Turns out that Dave Wong HAS indeed been to that Caribbean Market in New West, and highly recommends a nearby place; I trust that! I have had it with the radio playing Gotye, fun., and other groups a LOT. I rediscovered Corey's 2005 music DVD and his prank call CD, so those will provide a lot of entertainment instead!

Dave Wong, worsening conditions, prevention, and CHINESE ERIC

I got a surprise earlier when Dave Wong replied to one of my Facebook posts; now THERE is a blast from the past, haha! Yeah, I *do* find crazy things like those naughty church signs! Then Chinese Eric buzzed me on MSN; I'd missed him, since I really hadn't heard from him in a while! He apologized for missing my phone call, and said that he's been busy driving his mom's college friends around town as a "simple task" - they've been to Gastown, Olympic venues, and other tourist attractions. Sounds about right to me! Later, he apologized for his manners, and wanted me to wish Mom a happy birthday for him next time - sure, sure!

We discussed Jon and Harmony's "roller coaster of emotions," the frantic phone call that is sure to be in the future, the "glow" that pregnant women often have, Women's Hospital, how it felt to be an auntie to a nephew or niece, and the anticipation making it hard for Jon and Harmony to sleep. Also talked about the warm weather, his concern about sun protection (when I said I might not wear a jacket outside), his health getting worse (that's why!), tiredness, resting, diet, and hanging out with good friends being good for his mental health. The Canucks' long playoff run last year helped him recover then, and he'd hoped for another repeat. You and me both! Hey, we're the only team so far that HAS beaten Los Angeles (9-1 so far) in a game this playoff run!

Vegas, sex, Metal Slimes, Jesse, changes

Talked to David S. (omni_sinrilus) on AIM last night about a number of things: Vegas and what might happen there, personal stuff, Color Me Badd's I WANNA SEX YOU UP, Latour's PEOPLE ARE STILL HAVING SEX, making me happy, and more... always interesting! I'm glad I know him! Tomorrow, I'm going to have to buy gum and lotion for my trip, if I can even pack those items. Jesse surprisingly messaged me on Gmail chat, saying that it made him laugh that I hadn't changed my Gmail status in a while. Hey, it's still true as ever: parents SHOULD be banned from using certain "names," dammit! Chatted about life updates / VCEFC's pastoral changes / Camden / Grandma / grandparents / Sunday Dinners / Jon not emailing in the past five years / Harmony and convenience, too. LJ had downtime AGAIN, so I fired off an email to Cindy to see how she is.

Last day of the regular NHL season... can't believe it's all come down to this! Holly thought the hockey game was an away match in Edmonton, HAHAHAHAHA! The Canucks ended up winning 3-0 for 111 points... PRESIDENT'S TROPHY FOR THE SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR! LOVE THE CANUCKS! We're going to play the Los Angeles Kings in the first round of the playoffs!

David S. buzzed me on YM, and reminded me of an entry I wrote years ago about why he is so awesome; hey, it's all still true! I have figured out why my wizard Brey is losing 3MP per attack. It's the Staff of Force which does this, but the weaponry is way better than a Cypress Stick for now... and I also should remember to cast Icebolt / Snowstorm or other spells on Blazeghosts, Rogue Whispers, and Imposters instead of attacking them. DRAGON WARRIOR 4 will glitch out otherwise!

Damage zones / Can't complete DW3

I can't complete DRAGON WARRIOR 3 because the game consistently glitches out and resets whenever I have to step into swamps! Ugh! Complained to Corey via MSN about this and other emulators; Nestopia won't do it for me, unfortunately. Discussed forced level grinding, DRAGON WARRIOR 1, needing to be really careful outside the first castle or else you'll get an ass-kicking from strong monsters, and more. Talked to David S. on YM about Paul and trouble, too.

David S. said hi on YM almost immediately after the game, so of course I talked to him for a while about stuff like the issues which Korey gave me. I love this "book as mousepad reinforcement" and "pillow as lap protection from laptop" thing I have going on here, even if Eric did think I slept on the couch too! HAHAHA, no way! Hey, the Bend station also has LITTLE STEVEN'S UNDERGROUND GARAGE after Dee Snider's HOUSE OF HAIR - I've missed that since Rock 101 doesn't play that anymore! Then Eric got on MSN after midnight to bug me about the time change - UGH! Also bugged me about being crazy, various online games like DOTA, STARCRAFT, ice cream, what my online dating profile should look like if I had one ("I'm a cougar!"), eHarmony, LEAGUE OF LEGENDS, and more. He is certifiably insane!

Grammar police, watering, serial killers, and TLC

Tammy M. added me to Facebook; apparently, my GRAMMAR POLICE picture cracked her up! I remember that Dave loved the picture, haha. Jon came over at 4:40 to water the plants and bug me about stuff. I gave him one package of seaweed, and we chatted about a possible date for a siblings dinner. His and Harmony's schedule is packed, but maybe next Wednesday (the 14th) could work! I know he's preaching this Sunday, and I also missed it the last time he had a sermon.

Incentive, indeed... we also talked about Neighbor Valerie, Steveston Village, my calculator, the TLC shows on hoarders, my plans with Chrystal, my hair, signing up for co-ops, what I've been eating, it being really "warm" here (but the HOHOHO house - where he came from - is cold), and more. I watched shows on true crime / murder / serial killers - "48 HOURS: HARD EVIDENCE" IS THE BOMB! (and so is INTERVENTION!) At least I do have an alternate source of noise! Mike R. also added me to Facebook; oh my!

Red Velvet Cake / Hoarding / Addictions / Oh Cone-ada!

I watched other weird TLC shows today; HOARDING: BURIED ALIVE, and MY STRANGE ADDICTION. addictions to sniffing pine cleaner, long toenails and fingernails, picking up roadkill from busy night highways, and eating dirt! Marissa R. also added me on FB from the Puckheads group. Went back to 7-11 once the shows started repeating. That way, I could get that Ben and Jerry's Red Velvet Cake ice cream! Since I saw two other flavors I hadn't tried (Oh Cone-ada! and Chocolate Macadamia), I had to get those as well. Tried them all when I got back to the townhouse and talked to David S. briefly: the cake one was especially good!

No potluck / Bryan IDIOTIC / David S. being golden

Ended up missing the potluck since I took a much-needed nap at 5:30 and woke up at 7:15! Noticed that Eric had called me at 6:30; on the off-chance that he was still home, I called him. Ron answered the phone to say he'd already left; after thanking him, I called Eric's cell to find that he was already at church! I told him that I'd taken a nap, which he was dubious about. He said he'd see me on Sunday: haha, we'll see about THAT! Got to the computer to find that Eric had tried getting me on MSN, complete with devil emoticons and "DING A LING!" Hahaha!

Also found out about the Leafs hockey news - coach firings, indeed! Caught up on the weekly tradition, too. I swear I need to cut down on chocolate for my own good. Talked to David S. on YM for a while, too - hey, falling asleep randomly does happen, as I demonstrated! Also blocked Bryan for good - ASIAN FEVER AND NOT KNOWING ABOUT YOUR LIFE IS A DEAL-BREAKER! To David's credit, he listened to me vent. Yay for friendship! Alana also invited me to her birthday party in June: can't go, as Vegas is rather the priority then!

Josh's hair covered his face?! / Cory and Nicholas sharing my tomato rice (dream)

Talked briefly to David S. on YM and Troy A. via Facebook messages before going to bed last night, and am talking to Brandi now about stuff. Dreamed of talking to Josh in a multi-floor school with blue-and-pink carpets. Suddenly, his hair went down and covered his face, causing him to go blind and not remember what happened for half an hour! I was with Helen's kids Cory and Nicholas, since they were sharing my plate of rice with tomato sauce. Nicholas told me that this was their favorite thing to eat - I didn't mind sharing the huge amount of rice! Their parents Helen and Danny didn't have to tell me to hide the kids' faces in my lap when Josh's hair covered his face! When the effect on Josh wore off, we asked him why his hair had done that; he couldn't think of why.

Later, Uncle Sam and Auntie Susanna came in with a cane and a black dog, which apparently helped them get around since they both had eye disorders. I briefly went out of the room to see what was going on outside, and saw kids turned around and lined up - someone could almost leapfrog over the kids' backs! Auntie Bessy genuinely thanked me for wandering around in the halls: this allowed Auntie Eva to see where I was, since she would be looking for me later. Triggers: Seeing Josh post family pictures of him / Joanna / little Nina on Facebook, reading Mom's email in which she told me to go to church on the 18th (or else Auntie Eva "will have a heart attack"), and seeing Uncle Sam at church a few weeks ago. Weird!

1875 - Kanouse (Wisconsin, February 13 1875). The five boys all died shortly after birth. There have been other sets born earlier, but none with solid information on them.

First Set To Survive
1934 - Annette Lillianna Marie, Yvonne Edouilda Marie (d June 23 2001), Cécile Marie Emilda, Marie Rein Alma (d 1970), and Émilie Marie Jeanne (d August 6 1954) Dionne (Ontario, Canada, May 28 1934). They were wards of the province and became a tourist attraction, housed in a hospital with a viewing area.

Amused myself by taking advantage of the Leap Year tradition where women can ask men to marry them; David S. had no problem with it. He is sweet, and I feel comfortable enough with him! ("awww... do you need American citizenship?") Talked on YM for a bit about things, although his screen name made me think of Dave's from years ago. (He-Man!) Troy told me about Molly being back; I know, trust me! We exchanged messages about personal things, also.

Ryan Wiens, glittery malls, MY LITTLE PONY, Mara and Nara (dream)

I had a dream which started out in the middle of winter - with the requisite snow around - and my friends and I had just learned that some MMA fighter named Ryan Wiens had just died on Xmas / Boxing Day. We went around a red glittery mall with plenty of merchandise on sale, and bought a bunch of MY LITTLE PONY things with our usual purchases. Afterwards, we went on a boat, which was understood to be going to the other side of the ocean. I saw Sophia, Margaret K., Mike K., David, Jonathan, and others there. I liked talking to them, and finding out what was going on because of the blue fence barriers and the red rails. The gossip on the boat was that Mara had gone off to see what happened to her pregnant sister Nara, and they were feared lost overboard.

When David started liking Margaret, her brother Mike wanted him to stop having THOSE sorts of thoughts about her! For some reason, I could see into David's mind, and knew exactly what he was thinking! Jonathan decided to stick up for Mike, and pretended to choke David while they were in a precarious position. Sophia and I saw this, and stopped them before it got any more dangerous. We reminded them of Ryan Wiens' death, and asked them if they wanted history to repeat itself. Later, we disembarked while looking at some poor souls who were going to get on the boat for a return trip. That's all I remember! Possible triggers: hearing a bunch of MMA ads, seeing MY LITTLE PONY a lot on ONTD, Valentine's Day stuff at the store, talking to Sophia last week, the DRAGON WARRIOR 4 walkthroughs (Mara and Nara are characters who have to go across the ocean on a boat), and talking about pregnancy lately.

The Canucks game against the Avs started out well, with David Booth scoring just 13 seconds into it! At the end of the game, Alex Burrows got an empty-net goal to make it 3-1... FINALLY, a regulation win! Now I can eat dinner while fielding more surprise messages!

David Lee, Mad Greek plans, Kenny, minor mistakes, smartass remarks

Someone named David Lee tried adding me to Facebook; I thought it MIGHT be the one I knew from church a REALLY long time ago (but "David Lee" is a very common name!), but it wasn't. DENIED! Then it turned out to be Kennedy using her friend's account, and she tried dictating to me what I must do: "DON'T talk to Brandi anymore - she has no respect!" Hahahaha, like I'm going to give in?! You were grounded for a good reason, young lady.

After I had a much-needed nap, I got up to discover that Chinese Eric had tried calling me. Since I won't allow myself to ignore THAT at any time, I called him back. After he worked outside, he just wanted to let me know that his doctor's appointment had been moved, so he might be meeting me even later tomorrow evening. Hey, that's totally fine since it's not like we had a specific time in mind! I wondered if he could eat Greek food (although he was fine at Kalamata, now that I think about it) - he said as long as it wasn't too spicy or had too much lamb and stuff, it should be fine. Then he brought up Mad Greek when I was indecisive about restaurants or even going out to eat. It's VERY close by, that's for sure! Plan of action: He'll call or buzz me when he's about to leave from dropping his mom off and doing some stuff, and then I can call Mad Greek myself to see if it's pretty busy. Sounds good to me!

Vanessa got on MSN right when the first intermission started, so we talked about surprises / minor mistakes / Teunis / Krista / smartass remarks concerning gum and chewing / showers / cleaning up / being moody. Turns out Teunis unfriended me on Facebook because of that remark - hey, if you can't take snark about it, then you don't deserve to be my friend anyhow! Now, I don't have to keep his mail, not that he would want it! Of COURSE the hockey game went to overtime and a shootout... *grumble* Seven of the last thirteen games?! I hate shootouts... at least it was a 2-1 win over Phoenix. Cindy emailed me about the phone message I left yesterday, so PHEW! Phil has not called me back yet... ugh.
