Bus pass application screw-up! / Warping into MINDS!

UGH. I COMPLETELY FUCKED UP when it came to filling out my bus pass application. Wonder if I can get another one... I should call Barry on Monday, I guess! Now I gotta figure out what to wear to this wedding... blah. The party is in disguise as soldiers in Prison Town... thanks for the uniforms, General Soldi of Reidock! We are warped into Masarl's mind, where two demons (Zuikaku and Shoukaku) are getting him to pledge his loyalty to Deathtamoor. "The great sage Masarl must be under the control of the demon emperor!" Masarl's sage brother Krimut can be found in Prison Town, and joins as a non-playable character so they can meet... contrary to Deathtamoor's wishes! The demon emperor also turned all the Prison Town villagers to stone!

Fuskering, funny Adam / Andrew, LIFECOD DOUBLE HERO!

Apparently, the random characters at the end of Photobucket uploads are a way to prevent "fuskering," and are the default for all new uploads. HOW ANNOYING... TOO MANY CHANGES! Adam and Andrew wishing each other a happy birthday via FB still cracks me up after a few years. They still live in the same house, but technology is cool for that kind of thing! I love these twins, even if they DID start out by calling me "Lassie" when they were ten. Ah, memories! Bad mood all gone now. :D A cute "online friends" picture that Kitty found: There are TWO heroes in Lifecod?! The elder says, "Eh... huh?! The hero is TWO PEOPLE?! Completely identical! I must be dreaming..."

Charlie is DEAD?! / Graboopi / Flying Bed and Clear Vale

I just found out that my Our Place friend Charlie died on his 57th birthday (8/23) in Greenville, Texas. Mike F. found the obituary online. He hadn't been in good health for a few years, but we still cared. I'll miss him! :(


Ack! It's a flying bed, and the party is being greeted by John's ghost! (after climbing the Wall of Destiny near Clear Vale to obtain the Fragment of Courage)




I had an epic LONG battle with endless Graboopi and Troll enemies; it lasted more than 90 minutes! (the Goopi and Graboopi monsters can call for help a LOT) End result: 33,377 experience points and 13,703 gold pieces! :D

Emulator ERASING game?! / Teething baby winter dream

I was NOT FUCKING IMPRESSED that my ZSNES emulator decided to ERASE my DQ6 game... ugh! "Save State 0 Too Old" - damned error message! At this rate, I'll get to know the game up to Amoru Cave quite well, since this is the third time I'll have played it! Eric also got on MSN right when I was going to bed; he asked if I was going to church today... I guess so, since I'm awake AND have saved pasta. :P


I went to sleep and had a dream that Eric and I were buying chocolate wine for Phil, but we stopped off at a local school first. That school was in the middle of exercise drills, so Jamie Nivala led the entire student body up and down a bunch of stairs. We found out exactly what was going on as we were herded outside: there'd been a bomb threat called into the building, but it turned out to be nothing. My dreams aren't logical, since OUTSIDE is not a good place for that situation!

To celebrate our narrow escape, we had a bit of the chocolate wine, then hightailed it up into the mountains to pick up a bunch of people from a conference... they needed a break from their teething babies! Eric apparently knew a bunch of Chinese, and was practicing it with my parents in regard to a Veterans Displacement Centre we could see in the snow. This was the first time that my parents had seen that area in the wintertime, and the first time that I was up there with them in Eric's car! (in the dream world, I'd always been there in Eric's company, ranting at him about Mr. Creep all the way) We got to the conference centre and admired the bright yellow walls as a backdrop for colorful sports jerseys (which Phil also wanted), where baby Ayler was apparently teething at three or four months old! Amos was crying because he wanted to get away from David. Emily, Mike, Vernon, David M., and others were trying to entertain babies or calm them down; the older ones just wanted Vernon's chips and popcorn, while playing with the brightly-colored toys! We were playing "catch and release" with the toddlers in the first lane of a deserted highway when my alarm went off. o_O No idea what triggered that one - talking about the winter with Chinese Eric, maybe...

Castle Reidock restarting / Amor water / Blood

I had to restart the game (finding another translated ROM, by NoProgress) because it refused to do anything past the point where I finally got the Mirror of Ra and went back to Castle Reidock! UGH!

Giggling, fooling people, capitalization, and assoholics

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, may you get eviscerated by a pack of wild boars! Mr. Texas Person has done it again. After telling me that he misses me, I then take a look on his FB wall a few days later only to find out that - surprise! - he's in a brand new relationship. I wasn't going to talk to him about it... seems she's the type who can't spell her own name and [judging from her posts on his wall] giggles a LOT and Capitalizes Every Single Word.

REALLY?! Man, you LIED when you said you'd miss me OR said that you weren't ready for a relationship. I'm just not going to talk to him, anyway. Seems his computer has been down for a couple weeks, or so he says. Yeah, I don't know... *shakes head* At least I'm not feeling as badly about it as I was in Vegas when everything else happened!

Barry called me, so I updated him on the past month as I was going to last week. He says it's horrible news - oh yes. Says I should call him tomorrow if I want to set up a shopping appointment, so I'll do that. Also emailed Chinese Eric, heh. I'm having sudden flashbacks to how that perfidious blackguard Yazmine Loquia ended our friendship in May 2005 over fifty cents at Kalamata Taverna! YIKES!

Jambalaya fettuccini, Kirin, Sabrina, LOTR, and birthdays

I got out on time to meet Chrystal at London Drugs, but I just missed both the 401 and 407! We talked about her having Chinese food tomorrow, Boston Pizza, salad, jambalaya fettuccini, paying for ourselves, Emily, Mike, barbecues, the park, Chinese Eric, baby Ayler, her seeing Nathan / Daniel / Michelle / Maddie at Kirin, Phil's farewell on Sunday, Facebook, LOTR not being a ripoff of HARRY POTTER, her parents going back to Hong Kong for a month in September, Harmony / Holly / Myles / Brittney, her seeing Sabrina at the Skytrain station twice this week, Cindy and her birthday, birthdays in general, Pastor Bob, Grandma, and other life stuff. It was good, even if I wanted to go home almost immediately afterwards!

Egg on shirt?! / Orca statues! / CONGEE!

This morning, I discovered that I accidentally laundered my bus pass last night. Then I decided that transferring my stuff was more important than going to church, so I called Lillian to inform her of this, then called Eric to let him know. I'm sure he understands! When Veronica answered the phone, I politely told her that I was good - she probably doesn't want to hear the real story, unless she's heard from Eric already. Oh well. Jon also called to see if we could locate his bus pass in the back of the rental car - sure! Told him that we'd gone for sushi afterwards, heh. Got an email from Vicky about things, which is good. Lillian came by later, and said that Jon had texted her about the bus pass, but she couldn't find it. After I had dropped off most of my stuff at home (and organized most of it), we discussed the changes in Richmond / orca statues near Dragon Ball / chairs / impatient drivers who can't wait for someone with a walker to cross the street / picking up Auntie Kwai / congee.

Grandma was at least awake when we got there, and was able to tolerate a lot of congee without choking... YAY! Her roommate is 96 years old, Jewish, and felt like she was going to die; her lesbian granddaughter wouldn't hear of that because of her wedding next week, haha! Auntie Paula and Auntie Helen came by later, and said that Auntie Eva would pick up my parents from the airport tomorrow and visit. I really need to figure things out with Jon, then - how to tell them if they don't know?! Lillian thinks that Grandma can no longer really control her right hand, which is definitely an effect of what's really been going on! A bit later, she bought me a honey Greek yogurt from Starbucks, and some egg / ham / Chinese buns. Unfortunately, the egg got on my Canucks shirt and ruined it. Maybe I'll try laundering it tonight since I really have no spare shirts! After we told Grandma to sleep some more, I decided to go with Lillian back to Richmond before Grandma's dinner since she's meeting a friend. She's seeing someone tomorrow to give out stuff from her colleagues, but that's in Port Coquitlam! Of course I don't want her to drive everywhere, so a central place to pick people up would be good. Found out that Helen Huynh (from Palmer) added me on Facebook - nice!

BAD NEWS ON THE HORIZON

Went to the hospital, and saw Auntie Kwai there with Cousin Lillian, whom I hadn't seen in YEARS! She quickly told me stuff about Grandma, and then said that she'll be here for a week. Her sister Yvonne landed here tonight with her husband William and daughter Andrea (they're staying with his family in Port Coquitlam), so I might be seeing them. Jon came by later, just in time for a CT scan on Grandma. We caught up with Lillian, who says her brother Aaron is working in Korea from Hong Kong; wow! Later, we received some bad news from the doctor - MALIGNANT BRAIN TUMOR?! That might explain why Grandma's been going downhill so quickly in the last month. Jon says that a lot of people at church know where Grandma is now, and we stayed with her for a few hours more. We answered everyone's questions as best we could, translated where needed (but Grandma was still confused!), and figured that our parents not talking was less important than this. Maybe if Uncle Michael and Mom are face to face, things will be better?

Jon says that he would email Steph and Lisa when he got home (it's easier for them to change their flight!), knows that Harmony understands his not being home to help take care of the baby, and was wondering whether he should let Mom and Dad know NOW or in a few days when they get back. We figured that we shouldn't ruin the cruise, and that any biopsy surgery might be traumatic for Big G. If the life expectancy is about three months at the most, then we need to stop being in denial pretty soon. Later, we told Grandma we'd be going - Lillian gave us rides home, but she and I stopped by the Korean BBQ place across from #9 to have some Korean noodles / rice / soup to eat first. She was at the hospital all day, and she'll pick me up tomorrow too. I got home to email Eric Ho FIRST / the BS group second, and the chair broke on me as I was sitting in it! Then I got a message from Teresa L. about whether I still talk to David S. - nope!

THIRD DEGREE BURN Habanero Doritos! / Maxim Lapierre / Refunds

Hahaha! Facebook just suggested that I add Maxim Lapierre. I discovered that I was probably overcharged last night at Shoppers Drug Mart on the SALE Sidekicks items! *grumble* I went back to the store, even though that meant getting dressed - at least I got my refund and bought the Tomato Alfredo back at $1 each! Then I got some laundry money at the bank from my change, and went to the 7-11 to price out some milk. Since I saw some Limited Edition THIRD DEGREE BURN Habanero Doritos chips, I had to get two because I'm a sucker for new flavors!


This monkey at the Cream Puff Zoo entrance just called me a big doo-doo head, Mommy!




In the church at the cemetery: Somehow, I don't think teaching the zombies about God will help them to become friendly!

Lamia Matriarch EIGHTH floor! / Water Crystal not just any old jewel

I was looking in the wrong place for the Lamia Matriarch; it's on the floors after you fall from the basement to the eighth floor! Don't ask how that makes sense - that's FINAL FANTASY IV for you! I restarted the game since the game time of 20:52 was abysmal for that point! (the Babel Tower / Tower of Bab-il) It didn't help that SOMEONE had to buzz me - at least he got the message of "LEAVE ME ALONE!" without my having to say anything. ;)

Dream about train stations, Marissa, Rich, Chinese Eric, and Phil

It's a good thing that white Eric didn't call me this morning because I wouldn't have been awake, although I got up at 9:45. Besides, I actually remembered a dream which I gotta write down! Thank goodness for extra time to fart around! Although I note that LJ is down right now... *sigh*

I dreamed that I was in a conference building, and that I had to see my dad. He was meeting Marissa and her crew at a nearby White Spot, and I had to get over there before Rich knew about this. Rich was actually there before I was, but wasn't mad about it. He said that he was there with some old and new co-workers / work friends, and let me know that he'd be going up north to pursue a new endeavor as a police officer. Finally, we saw Dad and Marissa's crew in the crowd of white people at the restaurant.

We joined them for dinner, and later went our separate ways. I met up with Chinese Eric at a train station, where he was busily going through some figures on paper about Telus. He helped me up a particularly nasty set of stairs, and I appreciated the friendly touch and hand-holding! Once there, we met up with Phil and talked to a bunch of people about hockey. I misheard that Parise and Suter had been traded soon after their acquisition by the Minnesota Wild, and wondered about that. Someone wrote next to my typed question: "NO!" Then I went with Phil and Eric to the Thompson train station, on the other side of the building, and talked for a while till the train came.


Triggers: Talking about the Puckhead meetup at White Spot / hockey in general with Chinese Eric, wanting Phil's ministry updates via email, seeing Rich at Eddie and Eunice's wedding, and trying to keep up with hockey news. Odd, but interesting enough!

Photos not viewable with browsers!

I can't view any Facebook photos and pictures in ANY browser on here right now; Firefox, Chrome, and Opera all return empty boxes for those things! Good thing I finished my bestiary work hours beforehand, but I was planning to use Facebook photos tomorrow so Chinese Eric could see pictures of Ayler and Vegas / the wedding IF the hangout ends up happening! I guess I can still use it, but he'll have to be content with thumbnails. Yes, I deleted my cookies and cleared my cache... I somehow don't think that this problem will resolve itself overnight, but I'll be pleasantly surprised if so! Maybe this is Friday the 13th at work... spooky!

I went out to buy hangers from London Drugs, then some pork and vegetable dumplings to steam. Came back with those items, plus two boxes of on-sale silverware service settings ($12 off!), Kellogg's cheddar cracker-chips, two boxes of on-sale DOCTOR KRACKER flatbread (sunflower seed, flaxseed, and sesame seed / pumpkin seed cheddar), an apple pie bun, a BBQ pork bun, a box of butterfly pastries (from Kam Do Bakery), beef jerky, frozen cheesecake slices, two boxes of sesame Pop-Pan crackers, two boxes of spring onion Pop-Pan crackers (GOD BLESS CITY FRESH MARKET!), on-sale coffee creme wafers, and on-sale chocolate creme wafers. o_O Richmond Public Market and Grand Asian Value Supermarket near Tsim Chai didn't have Pop-Pan crackers!

Note to remember: CITY FRESH MARKET will have Pop-Pan crackers!

Hangout delays! / Flickering flames, odd springs, and heavy stones

Decided to see if I could get the emulator VirtuaNES to work for me this afternoon, since I wanted to play the NES rom of FINAL FANTASY III, which didn't work on Nessie. I found a walkthrough by KleenexTissue50 which seems to be helpful, anyway. Chinese Eric called me, so I called him back a while later: his doctor's appointment has been changed, so he wanted to know if Thursday was okay for a long hangout time. Unfortunately, I have that combined family birthday dinner for Dad and Lisa, so this is another "stupid" (his word) thing delaying our time! Hey, he agreed with me... if he wants to jot down questions so I don't get TOO sidetracked by stories (even though it's all good), I don't mind! I wouldn't make up excuses to get out of spending time with him, and he knows that! Considering we haven't actually hung out since the Kings eliminated the Canucks in Game 5 on April 22, it'll be even sweeter when we DO! I'll call him on Friday or Saturday, then...

Omega Mk. II room EXIT CLOSED?! / Fabul monk dancer is a MALE!

Mom called to say I should be waiting for them at 1:15. Eddie and Eunice's wedding starts MORE THAN TWO HOURS later, but I guess if they have stuff to do, and it takes ages to get to West Van anyway... *grumble* Oh well, it's not like I can get out of the Omega Mk. II room for some reason; a door which SHOULD be open is now SHUT TIGHT! (and this with only ONE monster left... I GIVE UP! The game is just fucking with me...) She said stuff about shortening my pants (yes, get on that!) / giving me some of Grandma's handtowels, facecloths, and bath towels (er...) / some barbecue for Dogwood Lodge families when they'll be in Russia / visiting Ayler briefly. Of course I know I should replace my towels and cloths every so often: WHY DO YOU THINK I BUY NEW ONES SOMETIMES?! Ugh.

Heart of Ronka: Stones in treasure chests!

Thank goodness that Eric didn't bug me tonight; I could focus on more important things, such as MY GAMING!


The Heart of Ronka in the Sealed Temple has a treasure chest puzzle (similar to that in Ghido's Cave) where you have to move these heavy stones in order to get doors to open for you. "Nrrrgh! Cripes, this is heavy!"
