Stains, bookmarks, propaganda, hot pot, Kids Night

I finally got my Awana uniform back today, with a stain on it. Complained about it to Winnie, who knows unexpected stains can be really annoying! If I don't wash it before next week (very likely), I have a spare which is actually my sister's old one from years ago, haha. I should take the pins out of mine first, though! Auntie Rebecca gave me a bookmark that she personalized with my name and a Bible verse about nurturing since I wasn't at the Awana orientation back in SEPTEMBER! (I went to lunch with people at the exotic meat Spirit Grill instead that day)

Said hi to Hunter... Andrew, Amos, and Jason were being pretty weird as usual. Amos said that he had to write a paper arguing against propaganda: it's due on Monday, and he hasn't started it yet. I told him to look things up on Google or Wikipedia. Andrew wrote stuff on the board when the Wong brothers were teasing him about stuff: yeah, we can read his handwriting, although Amos' is much nicer for some reason! Henry said he wasn't going to the hot pot: although it's a kind offer, he doesn't think he has the time for it. Sounds fair enough to me, so I don't think I shall be going either. Andrew told me that he needed to lost 20 pounds since he's getting fat: if anyone needs to lose 20 pounds, it's me! I don't think he's fat at all, but if he wants to do so in order to get a girl...

Melia was ranting to Joey about stuff that happened last night involving her, Angus, and some other woman. (maybe his mom?) Joey said that it still sounded okay... he turned to me and asked whether the speaker last night wasn't a little on the long side with his presentation, and I definitely agreed with that! Zoe asked whether I was going to Kids Night on Tuesday because she was going: ah, kids are so cute! I told her that I wasn't, then told Amos that my sister was going (of course) and my brother had mentioned hanging out there... I don't know if I'm going, but probably not. Talked to Chrystal later on, who's liking work: when I told her about the beer / wine in the US stores, she thought that it was pretty awesome, haha. Good times with the kiddies, heh.

Irony, jerseys, weddings, peppermint shots, Quiz Heaven stuff

Okay, I need caffeine and something to eat. That can easily be taken care of while / after I compose this post, though. :)

Caught up on blogs: Steph has musings about how when one door closes, another one's supposed to open... so where's the opening? Then again, she has discovered that her jersey bag is completely FULL. So she either has too many jerseys or she needs a bigger bag - more closets would also fill the order, but I don't think my mom would be too impressed with THAT! Dawn's been busy with work, semi-retiring her old laptop, being in New Westminster with a certain someone, and going to a bunch of restaurants. As long as she's happy, eh?

Vivian has reflections about teaching, Bible verses, irony of students not understanding Je comprends, Christmas (TOO EARLY!), and the good state of her food supply. Jen's done a quick recap of her sister's wedding, and thinks it's a good thing she was well enough to attend since she spent quite a bit of time cooped up at her dad's condo. She knows where she got it too, from a certain somebody. (hmm...) Hey, she poured tea for the tea ceremony and figured that a potential blog title for that night would involve Tiki cocktails / cigarettes / champagne / cranberry juice. It's like what she told us at someone else's wedding a few years ago: her family drinks, so the bar won't be dry! ;)

Dave's been making figures, and he has a Family Guy Youtube video up: it's PEANUT BUTTER JELLY time! Heh, I bet that made his day. Spoz has lost his brain (no surprise there) at Shotz or somewhere out on the streets. That Squashed Frog shot looks to be a very odd shade of green there with the peppermint, but as long as he liked it... must have been madcap adventure, as usual around there!

Dallas, Jeremy, Mark, Dragon Ball, Chinese magazines, Denny's Cheese Soup, blogquiz

Note: LJ Kingdom Hearts Journey / Clue: The LJ Board Game / LJ Mosh Pit blogquizzes. (by Joly, Bill T, and Amanda)

I managed to take a quick shower before Jon and Dallas picked me up - they'd remembered my Dempsters white bread. (I checked it for green spots when I got home, and found none.. phew!) We talked about safety hazards, falling out of a car / jumping out of a moving car, Sarah McLachlan's early stuff which Jon still likes, Dallas and his busy studying, the crazy Japanese noise music playing in the car, Jon's monster number of books, novels, re-reading, Sunday dinners, Delta Fellowship, the Boredoms, the hockey game (we won 3-2 in a shootout while Ovechkin had a goal and an assist), and durian.

Grandma said that Jon had lost weight after almost 23 months of not seeing him, but everyone tells him that - even the aunties at church! Then we figured that she'd be that much more disoriented after her flight IF Jon played that crazy stuff for her. (some of it sounded like really high radio static!) When we got to church, Dallas complained that his head was itchy, so we joked that he had to wash his hair more often. Jon had a concert story for us, which didn't necessarily involve Dave: some guy was being a REALLY ANNOYING person and trying to mosh when nobody else wanted to. There were a few rounds of "WTF?!" but nothing that serious until the band reached yet another musical climax. Mosher Dude was attempting to mosh yet again, and knocked a girl down. Then some guys beat on him until he got kicked out of the concert... that's what he deserved since you DON'T DO THAT KIND OF THING!

The speaker was fine... there was a funny moment early on when he mentioned having TB when younger, which had certain circumstances. One of the teens misheard that as "TV," and had Steph correct him to everyone else's amusement. Speaking of Steph, Uncle Danny asked her to share details of her Mexico trip upstairs: she can't really speak Chinese THAT well, but apparently he took over with his translation for half an hour! (not five minutes as she originally thought) It seems that someone who was SUPPOSED to share didn't even show up, yikes! She went home with Dad shortly after our program had ended, which is probably a good thing since we ended up leaving church at 11 and going to Dragon Ball. (there were rumors of "last call" at Steamworks, but we couldn't make it there by 11:45!) Jon looked at a bunch of books he really shouldn't buy - I don't have enough cash right now to buy one so he can borrow it from me! Maisie told me and Frances about her grandma being 99 years old... wow!

I talked to Dylan for a bit about the Bible Study changes: since I suck at explaining things sometimes, he was confused! Then I did the wonderful thing of choking on some grain bread (not dipped in salsa as my previous pieces were :P) and reverting to instinct: NOT GOOD! He did ask whether I was okay... stupid seeds! At least I got some water, listened in on Jon's explaining the U-Pass to Quan and Joyce as THE BEST THING EVER, and aired some concerns to him about this change. I still have one which I've never told him or Karen, but maybe on Sunday, hahaha. Jon, Isabel, and I talked to Vania for a while: she was complaining that Sam, Mike, Darren, and some guy she didn't even know were bugging her by using these cotton balls on her jacket as tetherballs! Yikes. Then she asked whether I was going to Vivian's party: I still don't know, but I might tag along with Jon after the AGM for Commercial Drive coffee and then the Dallas Souvlaki House! (Dallas should SO GO THERE!) No pumpkins at Melia's, though he'd love to be there too!

Then I talked to little Gwyneth and Evelyn for a while, who seemed shy and non-talkative. Apparently they like salsa since their mom Teresa makes tacos all the time. She dropped a bomb on me by asking which weeknights I was free, and then asking for my number: while it's true that we live pretty near one another, I certainly wasn't expecting a dinner invitation! Guess I'm more hak-hai than I thought, since I asked whether she was sure, haha. Of course she was, but sometimes you never know... After that, I talked to Sheena / Hannah / Priscilla / Stanley about books and such before Dallas joined us. We discussed scary movies, Toronto, snow, liking to read (yay for the kids!), hairstyle, and more.

After that, I had to listen to Jon / Dallas / Dylan talk about work and careers in our society. I knew we had to meet Jeremy somewhere, but we were the last ones to leave... the cleaning crew were really starting to clean by the time we left! (men!) We picked up Jeremy and his brother Mark on Broadway after discussing Dallas' crazy morning landlord interruptions. Yup, of course I remember Mark: apparently, he likes true crime as well, though I've never confirmed it with him. (don't ask me WHY...) We saw Eric M. at Dragon Ball, who showed us digicam pictures of the game that Jeremy and Mark had gone to Original Joe's to watch. The Chinese magazines at Dragon Ball were very amusing as usual, but some of the pictures were creepy! (guy in the shower with his hands all over a girl?!)

We discussed Halloween costumes (the guys saw a burglar going into a bank!), hockey, hymns, worship music, tomorrow's plans, and crazy bubble tea combinations: banana (Eric), avocado-dessert tofu with half sugar (Jon), blueberry-lychee with pearls and coconut jelly (me), watermelon-green lotus with black grass jelly (Jeremy), and other possible combinations. Too bad they don't have durian anymore because then Jeremy could combine strawberry with it! When Eric mentioned bringing back BEHOLD WHAT MANNER OF LOVE, we all laughed at Dylan's reaction of putting his head in his hands and moaning, "NO!!!" Playing majestically on the piano, playing certain keys on the guitar and wrist protectors, ESCC nominations, and more were all related to that somehow! Then we discussed the flavors which would curdle if milk were added to them: Jon apparently put Bailey's in some drink at that dinner a couple weeks ago, and it instantly curdled in the glass!

Jon and I drove Mark and Jeremy home: their parents were staying in a hotel somewhere tonight. We weren't going to say WHY they were in a hotel, other than that it got way too crowded at Jeremy's otherwise! But they'll stay there tomorrow night because of church the next day. We both liked the guys' lines of "Dad would be more open to drinking beer if Mom weren't around! Remember that time when Dad had one beer before dinner and remarked that it was the drunkest he'd been in a while? I don't think Dad's EVER gone for a beer!" Good times, indeed. :D

Also, I just figured out (after 10 months) that my phone has TWO controls for volume, one on each side. Now that I've adjusted both, maybe the phone will truly be turned off when I want it that way! :P (and no, that was NOT a Backstreet Boys reference either! Aiya...)

Time change, Chung's wedding card, birthday images, space dream, Halloween quizzes

Note: LJ Sitcom by rfreebern.

Reminder: Change your clocks one hour back before you go to bed tomorrow! They didn't announce it in church service last week when they usually do... very odd. The radio reminded me a few days ago, heh.

Note to self: Must get wedding card for Chung and Karen before their wedding in March. I gotta be in control over the card thing, after all. ;)

I found the cutest "Happy Birthday" images on the latest posts page!

Why is Joule no longer in operation? I get a Page Load Error every time I try to access it. Oh well, maybe the Message Centre will keep track of things for me from here on in. Now I'm just deleting Myspace spam... no wonder I thought I had new messages, when it was just spam! Stupid spammers...

Edit, three days later: Oh, now I get the lovely creative 404 error message when I try to access Joule... NOW what am I going to do?!

So many years have passed since first you sought
the lands beyond the edges of the sky,
so many moons reflected in your eye,
(familiar newness, fear of leaving port),
since first you sought, and failed, and learned to fall,
(first hope, then cynicism, silent dread,
the countless stars, still counting overhead
the seconds to your final voyage of all...)
and last, in glory gold and red around
your greatest search, your final quest to know!
yet... ashes drift, the embers cease to glow,
and darkened life in frozen death is drowned;
and ashes on the swell are seen no more.
The silence surges. Error 404.

I had a dream where my friends and I had to take care of baby Ian: his parents David and Rosenda went away on a trip somewhere. For some reason, my mom showed up and began bossing everyone around. To get away from her, we all boarded an alien spaceship with the baby, and marveled at the view of BC / Canada and the US. They had signs proclaiming how they were superior to one another, and it only got worse when we ascended into the blackness of space. Uranus and Saturn were waging their own sign war, complete with Jupiter and the other planets cheering them on. The asteroids and other space features were yelling encouragement. What a weird dream... o_O

Flami's Halloween ...
You will dress up as A Robot Tiger, despite earlier plans.
Jon will get you A time-stopping watch
Steph will get you Some individually-wrapped razor blades
Dawn will get you A chocolate-covered toad
Phil will get you an enchanted bowl that produces whatever candy you want when you shout the name
Vivian will get you A book that lets you write your own destiny

Bible Study group changes, comfort with people, Nina moving, white bread, Jane's heart problems

I got a phone call from Karen Choo this afternoon, but was busy doing other things, so I called her back later. She said she'd call me right back, but I had to wait for about two hours... that is NOT "right back" territory! Oh well, at least she called me back... unlike SOME people I could name! :P (*cough*Stephen*cough*)

She mentioned what Randal did a few weeks ago (Sept. 3) about a possible change in Bible Study groups for me, and the new material which EVERYONE would be doing. As I did then, I told her that I was reasonably open to whatever change the Committee wanted to make: it's not like I can do anything about it, after all. ;) It was Dylan's idea, since he seems to think that the change would be good for me: I've been with Karen for YEARS, and maybe I'd benefit from being with people younger than I am. (Andrea, Jen, Jeremy, and Eric) Perhaps that's true, although I'm sure there are things that Jeremy and Eric need not know about! Apparently, Dylan and Andrea are fine with being in a group together, since the whole "ex" thing was a long time ago. Randal seems to support the idea, and he rocks for mentioning it to me first, har har. (but at least Karen called to talk to me about it and get my feelings on the whole thing, even if she knew I'd be open-minded about it!)

It's true that I've known all of these other people for a long time varying from 20 years (Eric) on down to about four-ish (Jeremy - though the first two and a half were of the "he's my brother's friend, and she's my friend's sister" dynamic), but still. That doesn't mean I don't like my other comfort zone of Vivian / Karen / Randal / Stella / Ivan / Kevin! Maybe it's time for a change, though... Karen thinks I can always go back to her group if I don't like it. I guess we'll see what happens, although I do tend to be quiet in groups and not necessarily give good answers to personal questions! (Jeremy's already found that out for himself thanks to last Friday... aiya!) I guess we'll see what happens with this... new challenges and such for sure! At least I feel comfortable with all the people mentioned, heh.

Then we talked about the ping-pong night on the 10th... I still have two weeks to decide whether I'm going, although I'm leaning toward NOT being there. Two free nights in a row can make a difference in my life, and I don't really want to just watch since I have issues with balls being thrown around. (having to be ever watchful is something I don't do well... good thing I don't drive, haha) She said she was tagging along to one of Ivan's conferences in Quebec next week, and thought that I didn't know Vivian's birthday was coming up. HAHAHAHAHAHA, OF COURSE I KNOW THAT! I told her that I used a combination of memory and written work in order to remember everyone's birthdays, and that I'd known Vivian for a pretty long time too!

After we said bye, I decided to call Nina. She's been pretty busy, as she moved into a basement suite with her son (also named Dylan) just two weeks ago. I told her about all the travel I'd been doing, and about my grandma. Since she was busy putting the kid to bed, I said I'd call her back later... maybe the weekend, if that ever happens! Then I called my sister, who said that our parents' ire had been raised since they couldn't deal with the fact that she had her bedroom door closed! Thank goodness I don't have to live with that anymore, since they DID tell me years ago that there was NO PRIVACY IN THE HOUSE! (like, what the heck?!) She was talking to Michelle on her phone, so two voices in her ear was kinda cool for what it was worth! Once she finished with Michelle, I told her about the new Bible Study plans... she thought that I could leave Flime a message about the Friday ride plans, so I'll do that later. She was thinking of doing what Eric did, but didn't. Good thing!

Eric apparently dropped off my bread today: having that in the trunk for 20 minutes is fine, but not for the WHOLE DAY on Sunday! Dunno if I'm gonna eat it, though.. WHITE BREAD ISN'T THE BEST FOR YOU! That's what my mom taught us when we were younger, and now she's gone senile and bought some... I refuse to do that, haha. Seeing the crew tomorrow (if I go) will be fine, I guess... I just found out that my Colorado friend Corey's worried about his Taiwanese friend Jane because it's been over 24 hours since she was online last. She did mention something about having to go to the hospital immediately: she went to the doctor since her heart felt bad, and the doctor said that it was a major problem because her blood vessels got stuck. (clot?) Yikes! o_O (at least a couple of her US / Canada cousins have his online contact info, so he'll message them if he sees them online!)

Laundry in big loads, perplexing Eric, burning, Kleenex, and bathroom dreams

I hope that my laundry's okay in one big load since one of the machines is out of order. Good thing the dryers are fine, but I still think I'll conserve my quarters! ;)

Eric may be most perplexed right now and think I'm a sick puppy, but his current MSN name of "Diven - joyfully confused" certainly goes well with that! Hahaha. He thinks that the weird direction I want to go into with the "burning question" involved bloody murder, passionate lusts, marriage proposals, and literal burning! Nope, but he doesn't want to know anyway! It definitely isn't a morbid riddle, but a euphemism instead! Jon thinks he could be driving tomorrow, but not 100% confirmed yet... cool, and I did tell him about the Mini Melts at the mall. (haven't tried 'em yet myself, though!) Reminder to self: No Western Family Kleenex, Kotex, or Kleenex toilet paper since they're not my style!

I had a weird dream last night, in which a bunch of us descended upon Corey's house and took over the place. There was this time that everyone was cooking stuff in the kitchen, so I escaped by going outside to relax in lawn chairs with a few of the guys. Christon, Nathan, Corey, and I just sat in the back garden and watched these two brown-and-white dogs play together. I remember thinking how good this experience was, and that I'd like to repeat it.

After that, we all went to a conference where there were these unisex washrooms with separate entrances for men and women. I saw my mom, Grandma, and a younger version of Auntie Paula (Erin's grandma) in line. When I was in the washroom doing my thing, I thought I saw someone in another stall who looked like my old school friend Paul McMahon. Of course, there were things I didn't want to see, so I averted my eyes till later. I talked to him for a while, then went back to a conference room where a bunch of the younger people were. Someone wondered what happened to the room while we were gone for half an hour, and received the answer that people had added some extra space to it by knocking out a wall. Then Karen Grace came by with some crinkle-cut fries in an aluminum foil pie plate. (the stuff you get Chinese takeout in sometimes) While we were eating those, the dream ended... most weird!

Triggers: Sunday Dinners, the townhouse renovations, eating fries at US McDonalds, Grandma coming back soon, memories of Eric's dinner, and I dunno what else. Very strange!

Flaming pile of dung / Randal Google Image Search / Cinnabon Strawberry Lemonade & Mochalatta Chill

The rain is here now, sigh. Eric M. called me a flaming pile of dung-a-roos while bidding me goodnight earlier... cheh! I forgot to explain to him what "Jon's Richmond thing" is, but I'll do so in an email right now. (Friday plans, basically) Then Chinese Eric got online again, telling me to "LMK." Since I'd seen this weird abbreviation from him yesterday right before he signed off, I asked him what that meant as I don't DO Netspeak / abbreviations! (haha, I just realized how elitist that sounds... but I don't care, hehe) He told me that it meant "let me know," and asked about my wet carpet. Uh, his sweat didn't make it wet at all... sure it was hot, but hopefully white Eric's fixed the heater! He likes a cooler environment, and reminded me of his comments as we left Moxie's on Saturday: it makes him feel more fresh and alive.

We can certainly set up another day to do his blog update properly, since the wire thing kinda scotched that... maybe Remembrance Day weekend, since it'll be chill with no Fellowship OR Awana! (there IS Fellowship, but there's NO WAY that I'm going to a ping-pong thing at Bridgeport or anywhere else!) Speaking of "scotch," I had a candied apple drink at Moxie's... with butterscotch schnapps! :D So since HE signed off just as I was going to give him an answer about that, I emailed him about that too! (completely separate from the "Richmond Crew and Randal" email, of course!)

Hey, sweet! Randal emailed me back about the wonderings of the Richmond Crew! Let's see what he says... "Did I ever tell you that, in my spare time, I like to go around town taking pictures of fat guys and chicken-men? Actually, you are correct. The Google image search is a gold-mine of this stuff. I did a search of "Chicken Man" and got the chicken guy. For the fat guy, I searched for "strong man" and found him - go figure." HA! I KNEW IT! I AM THE CHAMPION! :D (speaking of Jon, he wants to find some book he saw at Village Books... the problem is that he doesn't remember the title or the author... going by cover alone would be time-consuming! :P) I predict that at least one of the Richmond Crew will say certain things about my knowing the answer which are NOT true in any way, shape, or form! Cheh!

P.S. Nick is so NOT my sock puppet... or indeed a sock puppet in general. He's just a sweetheart who knows how to support his friends. :)

Cinnabon Strawberry Lemonade & Mochalatta Chill

Cinnabon gives lemonade a twist by adding strawberry syrup. It's a simple clone when you snag some Hershey's strawberry syrup (near the chocolate syrup in your supermarket), and a few juicy lemons. But if it's a bit of a caffeine buzz you're looking for -- enhanced by a killer chocolate rush -- it's the Mochalatta Chill you'll want to whip up. Brew some double-strength coffee (see Tidbits) and let it cool off, then get out the half & half and chocolate syrup. Man, these sippers are just too dang easy!

Strawberry Lemonade
1/2 cup lemon juice (from 3-4 fresh lemons)
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups water
2 tablespoons Hershey's strawberry syrup

1. Mix ingredients together in a pitcher. Serve over ice. Makes 2 drinks.

Mochalatta Chill
1 cup double strength coffee, cold (see Tidbits)
1 cup half and half
1/2 cup Hershey's chocolate syrup

Topping
whipped cream

1. Combine all ingredients in a small pitcher. Stir well or cover and shake. Pour over ice in two 16 ounce glasses, and top with whipped cream. Makes 2 large drinks.

Tidbits
Make double-strength coffee in your coffee maker by adding half the water suggested by the manufacturer. Allow coffee to chill in the refrigerator before using it in this recipe.

Passports, bad theology, no Blackhawk goals, white bread, and green spots

Damn. My mom still has my passport. I need to ask her to give it back to me... later, perhaps. "Ask and you shall receive" is really bad theology in life, but it worked in the case of the keyboard! Both my brother and I agree on this point, haha.

Yes! The Canucks whipped the Blackhawks 5-0! Too bad the World Series game (St. Louis and Detroit) had to be called because of rain. Oh well. Eric says he has my white bread... yeah, I thought I forgot something on Sunday night from his trunk! I guess he can give it back to me on Sunday or whatever... it's currently in his freezer, but I should check it for green spots. Good idea! Not that I eat the stuff unless I absolutely have to... my mom gave that to me under the misguided notion that I eat it ALL THE TIME! Uh, no. Then again, Sunday is NOT a good day for that if I'll be out all day... yikes!

Ew, no. I hate that song (Justin Timberlake's Sexy Back) the one time I actually heard it on the Beat at Nathan's, thanks! (the Jamie Oliver chicken / Buddha's Delight Sunday dinner on Jeremy's birthday)

Moderately Chill
You are moderately chill, like a soda that you get at the dollar store. You have some popular friends, but you have some other friends who you like to hang out with too, who are lower on the popularity scale than you. But you are still pretty darn cool.

New quieter keyboard, conjoined twins, beer and wine in US stores, "fridge" as a verb, "its," time

Keyboard update: Last night after saying he forgot about my keyboard situation, Eric M. said that my brother and sister might get one from "the crazy dude." (aka Uncle Tim, whom we haven't seen in ages, except when his daughter Calla's back for three weeks at a time!) My brother denied it today in the car, and agreed that "the crazy dude" didn't tell us much, if anything at all. He suggested asking Dad, but not when he was driving: good thing he had an extra one! This one is quieter than my last one was, which I guess is a pretty good thing too! Yay! :D (it's less headache-inducing than the On-Screen Keyboard, heh) Eric H. still thinks I need another keyboard (the MSN name change didn't tell him anything!), but went offline before I could tell him anything different. Maybe he or someone else can help me adjust the wires so that they're in the back, not the front!

I heard a story about conjoined twins from Vernon who were born at the BC Womens Hospital here (the same place where Maxine and Helen K. had their babies) this afternoon. They're joined at the head, their names are Krista and Tatiana Hogan, and their mom's name is Felicia. She's 21, and now has four kids - wow, at least the babies' prognosis looks good because they were very vocal and wriggly! Apparently, only 45% of conjoined twins even make it out of the womb alive... if they're separated, that will take at least a year. Definitely an interesting news story, for me.

As advertised earlier, the family went to Lynden / Bellingham today. My brother and I spent the majority of our time in Rite-Aid and Safeway just looking at the beer and wine available right in the store... wow! Toasted Head beer is way more expensive in Toronto than in the States, but we couldn't take any of that or Smirnoff's / Mike's Hard Lemonade / milk stout / Woodbridge / Roberto Mondavi / Chardonnay / Miller Lite ("fridge" as a verb - "Fridge It. Enjoy It." - really dumbs down the English language!) / Alaskan Amber / Moose Drool / anything else we found. We weren't staying in the States for 24 hours or more, but maybe Jon will do so with Jeremy in the future! Our parents think Jeremy is a bad influence on Jon, but maybe it's equal in their eyes, haha. Jon encouraged Jeremy to make his own beer (like tea beer as the brewmasters do), but Jeremy has a wealth of beer books and knowledge!

At the Family Bookstore, one of the games caught my eye... and unfortunately, so did the glaring grammar error on the back of the box. It was a Bible Edition of Outburst! - the blurb for the game had an "its / it's" error, using the contraction form instead of the possessive. (should have been "its gameplay...") I showed that to my brother, who was busily looking at some books on the Bible: he read it to himself, and then said that those errors are one of his major pet peeves! Dude, I totally agree! I found a book on martyrs: maybe I'll get that FOXE'S book here, haha. (no, I didn't have a whole bunch of US money with me!) Also read a book called IN THE BELLY OF THE DRAGON: cult leaders brainwashing people in order to rape them is NO GOOD!

I discussed the time change with my brother: yup, it's this weekend. Grocery shopping at 10 on Monday morning might be a worse idea than usual, since I'll think it's really 9. Yes, I know I'll have Sunday... but that's a long early day in itself with church, lunch, the long AGM, and maybe pumpkin-carving at Melia's later. Maybe I can fully adjust on Tuesday or something! I told him about the Surrealist Compliment Generator, and the literal "this is not a compliment" compliment in French.

We also had good coffee from THE WOODS, as well as Dippin' Dots ice cream from McDonald's... that's the excellent stuff right there! Then we had the good experience of an empty Shanghai Wind to start a dinner of hot and sour soup, SLB, surfboard noodles, Shanghai noodles, and some other buns before he had to teach at Tom Lee. Waiting twenty minutes to get into the Massey Tunnel was NOT fun, but the borders had no waits! (we went to Fairhaven and the Colophon Bookstore / Café in Bellingham... WORLD ALMANAC OF FACTS: the Records Edition rules, and so do books about gorillas and sign language!) It was an interesting day, heh.

On-Screen Keyboard, teaching baby, why baby Hannah should have been named Roberta, Lynden, pumpkins

From Corey: To open On-Screen Keyboard, click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to Accessibility, and then click On-Screen Keyboard. (this "no working keyboard" situation ALMOST tempted me to use Netspeak / abbreviations over the past couple of days... thank God that I didn't go down such a slippery slope! :P)

Joe's farewell dinner was on Sunday - so many funny things in Citrus' DVD video, like sniffing the fried chicken / "White Jeremy" / soft drinks for the church basement in a BC Liquor Store bag! Jeremy had five bags of leftovers, and someone told Isabel to have a party at Nathan's house when the family goes to Hong Kong over Christmas. She still wants to sleep in her bed there after the holidays, so she won't... she and Emily Lam got to see Jon and Jeremy chest-chop each other, however. [yikes!]

Danielle and I taught baby Megan T. [who handed Ricky her twisted straw before he replaced it with a new one] about ice, and Steph said that Lee and Lily's baby Hannah should be called Roberta since their last name is Luong... very close to Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo! (but the baby cried when Steph suggested it to her!) My table got to see baby Joshua eat messily and smear food on his dad Tim's sweater, heh. Later, the Richmond Crew was wondering where Randal got these weird images that he includes sometimes in his emails. He apparently included an old fat guy in an email titled "The Chicken Man Wants You!" that he sent to Dylan, Eric, and Jeremy recently. I figured that he uses Google Image Search, but then I've never received those emails! =/ (Steph thinks he makes them himself with Photoshop or something similar) So I emailed him just now about it... should be interesting if he responds, haha.

Apparently, I'm going Stateside to Lynden with the family tomorrow. Should be good, if I don't feel like dying! =/ [sort of unwell right now, but not from posting over 530 random word comments in Eric H.'s journal earlier this afternoon / evening!]

Must remember to buy candy / drinks from 7-11 for the LONG church meeting on Sunday... pumpkins will be carved at Melia's afterwards by the people who weren't invited to Vivian's dinner. Long day, dude...

Early bedtime for me, I guess... like right after I post this and a friends page placeholder!

Cinnabon Icescape

Cinnabon Icescape

In a blender, Cinnabon adds concentrated flavoring, some ice and a curious secret ingredient referred to only as a "dairy product." When blended smooth, out comes these thick, refreshing drinks that look and taste like they were made with ice cream. For this clone, we just need a little half-and-half (that's half cream and half milk for those of you across the pond). It gives this version the exact same creamy consistency as the original with its custom "dairy" ingredient. Strawberry is the most popular of the flavors, but the other two are tasty as well. The Mochalatta version uses the TSR clone of the Mochalatta Chill and produces as thicker blended version of the drink, similar to Starbucks' popular blended Frappuccino.

Strawberry
1 cup water
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3 cups crushed ice
1/3 cup frozen whole strawberries (about 4 large strawberries)
1/2 cup half-and-half
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup Hershey's strawberry syrup

1. Combine the water and sugar in a cup and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
2. Add this sugar syrup to other ingredients in a blender. Blend on high speed until the drink is smooth. Serve in two 16-ounce glasses. Makes 2 large drinks.

Orange
3 cups crushed ice
1 cup water
2/3 cup orange juice
1/2 cup half-and-half
3 tablespoons Tang orange drink mix

1. Mix all ingredients in a blender set on high speed until smooth and creamy. Serve in two 16-ounce glasses. Makes 2 large drinks.

Mochalatta
3 cups crushed ice
1 1/2 cups Mochalatta Chill
1/2 cup half-and-half
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup

1. Mix all ingredients in a blender set on high speed until smooth and creamy. Serve in two 16-ounce glasses. Makes 2 large drinks.

Moxie's and church stuff

Yesterday's dinner at Moxie's was good... Eric H. and I had a good time talking about Fay coming back soon, SLB, the Washington hockey game (Alexander Ovechkin!) on Friday that he / Eric M. / Nathan are going to see (free Friday for me!), Jon and his busy schedule, hangout ideas for when Fay gets here, and burping contests to horrify Fay later on. He also wants to get her to watch a scary movie with him so she can do the "I'm so scared... hold me!" thing he's seen in the movies / on TV. (Fay is his girlfriend from Beijing, who got approval to come over here recently) When we got back to my place, I had him change my shower curtain (it's white now instead of blue) and switch the phone lines around. In the process of doing that, my keyboard somehow came unplugged... I tried calling white Eric, but Kieran said he wasn't home. So I thought I'd get him today, but he rushed off after service, although my sister said he was in Sunday School. Oh well, he's giving me and Steph a ride to Joe's farewell, so maybe afterwards! I figured that I was fine as long as I could still view my friends pages and play Bookworm, hehe... but I really should stop turning off the computer via power bar since it's BAD for the hard drive! Yikes!

Today was okay... Jeremy and I got a lot of laughs from Pastor Edward's sermon because he compared childbirth to being hit by a train, among other funny analogies. Afterwards, I talked to Citrus and Danielle about cheap DVDs (100 for $30?) / the Joe Yu farewell DVD (all proceeds to the church building fund!) before going to Sunday School. At least I got to talk to Phil about stuff, who likes how I distinguish between the two Erics, hehe. Cindy's pretty stressed out because of her teaching practicum and changing the classroom teacher, and very emotional too! We had Pho for lunch (#24 this time instead of #9 and #43), and waited for Citrus / Danielle / Cindy to finish their lunch! I asked Steph when the Daniel hot pot was: good thing it's the week after the Joshua hot pot, or else I would have TOO MUCH hot pot that weekend! It's like dim sum: it's good, but too much isn't great, if you know what I mean! Had a good time chatting to my sibs about Grandma coming back on Friday and church stuff ("hanging ducks for Kids Night!") before we left: a Citrus-Dad fight match would be an interesting idea since they already trash-talked each other! ("this is NOT a VCEFC-sanctioned event, but all the proceeds are going to the church building fund anyway!") Then we dropped Jon off at the Scottish Cultural Centre (dragonflies!), went to Ikea (frozen yogurt and so much furniture!), and now we're just waiting for Eric to pick us up for dinner. Good times. :D (at least I changed the desktop picture on my mom's computer!)

Hilarious moment of the day:

Mom, noticing that an intersection near the church (the one we usually use to access church) was closed: "Road Closed?! Is this construction for the RAV Line?!"
(note: our church is at Broadway and Nanaimo, nowhere close to where the RAV line is actually being constructed in the Oakridge / Granville area)
My sibs and I just looked at each other and tried convincing her that there were other construction projects going on that had nothing to do with the RAV line! Hahaha...
