Periods, emotional offers, twin articles, and holiday cocktails

TMI: First time I can ever say that I've had a period which has started one year, and (maybe? hopefully?) ended the next... =/ [also, an offer to call someone if I need to talk should NOT make me emotional!]

Jamie also buzzed me on MSN to say that the latest NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC's main (cover?) article is about twins - NICE!

Singapore research, Dragon Ball, holiday birthdays, and more!

While I was talking to James on YM, I called Mom to do the courteous thing and inform her that white Eric was in for New Year's lunch at Tsui Woo. Then she wondered about "yellow Eric" - WTF?! She also asked why I wasn't at Fellowship - NEW YEARS EVE WEEKEND! Thank goodness I have a plausible excuse THIS time! Chinese Eric called me at 8 to say he just got home, and we'd be hanging out with Nathan at about 10; that sounded good to me as long as he brought that bowl, haha! I hoped I didn't forget the MissionsFest booklet AGAIN like the ditz I'm apparently becoming! Let's just say I appreciated the notice so I could clean up a bit before he came here to chill, heh.

When Eric did come over, he said that his task was completed because he DID bring the bowl! Haha! I agreed with his joke while I gave him the MissionsFest booklet, and talked about bottled water and other things. We spent some time researching things in the clean (but strict!) city of Singapore based on what his ex Fay said years ago, just in case we did meet Nathan's Singaporean girlfriend Ciel tonight: food / leisure / places of interest, landmarks / landmark sites, the Singapore Flyer (which is a Ferris wheel), Jurong Bird Park, shopping malls, BASE jumping at Sky Park Observation Deck, Wild Wild Wet amusement park, Singapore Botanic Gardens, the Merlion, and more. All this research ultimately turned out to be for naught, as Ciel was way too tired after some modeling photo shoots and lots of family time to hang out with us later. Nathan tried calling Eric to update him on his plans, but that didn't quite work out as expected since the phone apparently went dead or something! This happened about three times before Eric just decided to go out into the hallway instead; I found out that Nathan had to drop Ciel off, and then maybe go to London Drugs before seeing us.

On the way to Dragon Ball, Eric and I talked about Dragon Ball in the Yaohan food court / Oakridge BBT places / uncles / aunties / Erica turning down New Year's plans because of their dad's birthday soon / Jeremy's party tomorrow (he'll call me either way - I trust him!) / bubble tea stamp cards / relationships with people / Macau / personal stuff / focusing on his health / problems / Fay / parking meters / Brian and Amy / old classmates with twins / life changes / Daniel / Michelle. While waiting at Dragon Ball when we came in at 10, Eric insisted on treating me to my Oreo cookie bubble tea; that was much appreciated! Nathan, Jon, and Harmony showed up more than half an hour later... I gave Nate his Christmas card ("great memory!"), and made Harmony laugh when she looked at the grammar book which Sara bought me for Xmas. We discussed baby Madeline / pressure / emails / immigration / Ciel's personality around people, weird BBT combos, Jon and Nathan's crazy jokes last night around Ciel and Harmony, cheesecake, Ciel's artsy model shoots not being appropriate for Nate's dad's condo, zombies, morbidity, poison, spanking kids, Ciel's family situation, and our various family drama.

Also discussed Brian and Amy getting married in August / Dawn and Eni getting married in March (Nate was surprised!) / my bling red sweater / the hockey playoffs last year / Eric possibly going back to Hong Kong for a bit in February / thesis research going down the drain because of his relationship with Ciel (his supervisor figured it out!) / his going back to the UK / our parents hanging out tonight / Facebook. Jon "joked" that Eric didn't have to pick me up tomorrow if he decided to drop by Jeremy's to check out the festivities / hockey game - OF COURSE HE DOES IF HE SAID HE WOULD! It was a good hangout, and something we don't get to do as often now! Thank goodness it wasn't tense! Eric and I stayed around outside to talk to Nate for a bit, until Eric worried that I was too cold. Hahaha, he's sweet - but I wasn't that cold! It was worth it to talk more to Nate about change and other things, anyway. In the car, we talked about parents / good friends / medicine / close relatives being impartial enough / tough love / his past girlfriends / good hangouts / more personal stuff which I won't reveal. Eric said that he'd walk me to the door, which was perfectly fine by me! I know I'll be hearing from him tomorrow!

Ironwood, meat shops, Quality Street, Guns N'Roses

Vanessa's friend Jenn couldn't make it as she had to look for her wallet; she ended up finding it ten minutes later, but that was fine. As it is, Vanessa and I went to Ironwood and checked out Mark's Work Warehouse (scrubs and warm stuff like socks and sweaters!) / London Drugs (on-sale Quality Street / Rolo / Coffee Crisp) / the bank / M&M Meat Shops (shrimp!) / Chapters [on-sale heavy coffee table travel books / Watch You Bleed: The Saga of Guns N' Roses (Stephen Davis) / Plum Rewards card / Weight Watchers cookbooks / low-fat stuff] while complaining about frustrations such as parking and bad drivers in traffic! Then we went to Specialty Chicken and Wonton House for a late lunch before she drove me home so I could catch up before my weekly tradition. Talked about Jon, Steph, James, her work, crazy patients, beef, iced coffee, tipping, specials, cuttlefish balls, Jeremy, Lisa, my parents, homophobic behavior, assholes, Paul, Krista, Teunis, Erik, Jasmine (I would never interfere in friendships or with my ex-friends!), New Year's, sales, 7-11, gelato, organic soups at Safeway, and more. Got home and found that Eliza S. wanted to add me on Facebook, probably via the Canucks fan page... fair enough!

The Central Park Test

Got up at 10:20, in plenty of time for the lunch plans. Good thing, too!

You Are Quietly Optimistic

Trusting Pirate Leila / Snowfield Goblins (glitch) / HANGING OUT!

Listened to a great 5-2 win over the Ducks while talking to James on YM for a bit. I had to restart FINAL FANTASY II again - I am determined to finish it, even with all the annoying resets! Chinese Eric reached me on MSN later: of COURSE Dragon Ball and Nathan would be awesome tomorrow if it ends up happening at 8! As for Saturday, he'll have to see because of family stuff with his grandma... perfectly understandable! Of course, I'm also up for downloading movies and hanging out here. Talked about his sister Erica, Boxing Day, shopping, new releases, and more. Vanessa showed up on MSN to say that her friend Jenn is also coming to lunch; fair enough! She still wants to go to Chapters after lunch, so we'll see!

Leila, on trusting pirates:

Goblin Guards on the snowfields?! This isn't supposed to happen! (and neither is Minwu in my party, but I took advantage of a code that let me have ALL items!)

Guy speaking beaver, rescue via save states, intense 3-2 wins, James NOT weird

Rescued games via the save states I found online, thank goodness! NOT replaying FF1 again, though! Listened to an intense 3-2 overtime win by the Canucks over the Sharks while eating the leftover pork roast and wild rice that Steph and Lisa gave me the other day, too! Talked to James on YM for a bit, too. He seemed to think that he shouldn't have said certain things, but IT WAS TOTALLY FINE! I just had to take care of something, is all. :D [Vanessa showed up on MSN a little later to say that we should go for a lunch special at Specialty Chicken and Wonton House, perhaps on Friday]

Hey, look! Guy can speak beaver language!

Twisted Sister is well-known, right?!

When Eric picked me up, I complained about various things (like having to RESTART THE ENTIRE DAWN OF SOULS GAMES!) while he bugged me with the 12 Days of Christmas / DARKWING DUCK / ZELDA. This was stretching my "people" limits, for sure! I told him half-jokingly that I'd never attend church for a while because I liked solitude. We got to Vivian's, and Christon / Enoch / Vivian / Vicky / Gino were watching some movie about the real-life inspiration for Winnie the Pooh and war. LONDON ZOO! After we ate sushi / macaroni and cheese / grapes / Coke, we had to play Taboo, Pictionary, and Balderdash. Other than my getting ideas to spam Enoch's FB wall with since he didn't know what they were (Beatles / Elvis / Twisted Sister), it was mostly boring. Finally got home after 11:30 - no way am I forgiving certain people, for sure! Matt's last name is NOT Hewitt, that's for sure... and I'm not in love with others, either!

Massive overpaying, JUDGING POOR GRAMMAR, Anthony, and slot machines

Noticed that Anthony unfriended me on FB, too - what the heck?! Before I left in the extremely rainy weather, white Eric called me on my swearing on MSN. WHATEVER - IT MAKES ME FEEL BETTER! Went to Blundell Centre and Shoppers Drug Mart first to pick up my package from the post office; thank goodness I had my ID and mail delivery notice! The bubble-wrap Snoopy envelope happened to be Sara H.'s Christmas present: I Judge You When You Use Poor Grammar: A Collection of Egregious Errors, Disconcerting Bloopers, and Other Linguistic Slip-Ups (Sharon Eliza Nichols), and Wacky Erasers! I also bought some on-sale pads (double!) and a Chinese New Year card for Grandma - YEAR OF THE DRAGON! Then I went to London Drugs to get on-sale noodles, on-sale Ferrero Rocher, and on-sale Pot of Gold. Got home to tell Eric about the Tsui Woo invite. I also raped my bank account by massively overpaying my Shaw bill... WHOOPS!

Moral support at Xmas dinner, honesty in smuggling, and presents

Damien said hi via FB chat, so I talked to him briefly. Noticed that Darren L. unfriended me on FB - what the heck?! Chinese Eric dropped by for five minutes (talking about Youtube) before we went to the family Christmas dinner, so I made him sign the guestbook for last time, too. 50-piece McNuggets in the States, and a burger called the McGangbanger?! YIKES! On the way over, I updated him on stuff - of course he has my back when it comes to certain things, and I definitely thanked him for coming out and supporting me! He asked me if everyone was there yet; probably! We had fish, turkey, moussaka, fruit, truffles, mint chocolate chip ice cream, coconut ice cream, cranberry sauce, gravy, chocolates, coffee, tea, Belgian beer, smoked beer (which has a smoked ham aftertaste), champagne, veggie chips, cake, and more!

Both of us talked to Grandma, Mom, Dad, Steph, Lisa, Jon, Harmony, Erin, and Ben about hockey (Vancouver won 5-3 over the Oilers) / pregnancy / family dinners / gluten / bread / cheating on diets / leftovers / pork roast / containers / keys / Chinatown / nursing homes / Tsui Woo / Facebook / the NBA being back / Eddie / Grandma's comments on ecards / rotating video clips around (that's why Ben was here, haha) / ultrasound photos (who WANTS to see THOSE on Facebook?!) / Patrick C. / Alan and Polly / keychains / New Year's lunch (Mom invited both Erics) / Nathan / Ciel / SERVANTS / GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS. Also discussed Karen Grace, Margaret, Auntie Brenda and boiling water, rental cars, Uncle Percy being 95 soon, Darren, Auntie Eva, Jason H., translation of Chinese, eggplant, looking things up on the computer, gas prices, doing dishes, helping Grandma, the States, Aldergrove, Langley, and more. When Harmony and I were in the kitchen alone, she wondered how I was doing now that "the world's most awesome person" was here. YOU WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO MAKE THAT CONNECTION, MY DEAR SISTER-IN-LAW! (yes, even if she's happy for me - which she said about DARKWING a few years ago, too!) Of course, she isn't DUMB, but still. :P

On the way home (Eric helped me with stuff), I asked if we could stop by the bank so I could deposit some money. Of course, he said yes WITHOUT making a big deal out of it like SOME PEOPLE would! It wasn't like I was asking him to go HOURS out of the way, and it was enroute to home in any case. When I got home after he helped me carry my stuff in, I discovered that I forgot to give him that MissionsFest booklet from last time... IT WAS RIGHT BY THE DOOR, TOO! Oh well! Edited entries and divided stuff into (Ziploc) bags for the fridge / drawers / regifting before catching up and such, too.

Mom's definition of smuggling beer over the US border: "Oh, but I was honest! I told the customs guard that I had some in the car!" Everyone else: "THAT'S NOT SMUGGLING!"

Presents: Guinness World Records 2012 from Steph and Lisa; Christmas card from Gabriel and Vivian; Christmas card from Vania; homemade chocolates, jalapeno cheese slices, two dark towels, hard candies, Mr. Big x2, Christmas card, three mugs, 2012 kitten calendar, Starlight mints, Whoppers, Kit Kats, teddy bear notebook, bubblegum candy, Coke, 2012 page-a-day Bathroom Reader calendar from parents

How Outdated Are You?

Decided to go back to Firefox since I was beyond annoyed with the "plugin is unresponsive" error on Chrome, which makes me have to restart my computer!

You Are Years Behind the Times

You may not realize it yet, but you're stuck in the near past. You're not quite up to date.

You probably feel like you're quite modern, but the years are moving quickly ahead of you.

There's nothing wrong with being stuck in the past a little, but you may want to acquaint yourself with the present.

You've got some catching up to do, and you might be surprised by what modernity has to offer!

Chinese Eric figuring stuff out, Erin and Ben, plus MOM HAVING CARDS

Noticed I'd missed a call from Chinese Eric, so of course I returned it. His mom answered; Auntie and I just wished each other a Merry Christmas, even if I myself wasn't feeling it. Eric just wanted to figure stuff out for tomorrow. We talked about Nathan, Ciel, New Year's Eve at Jeremy's, his dad's birthday being around New Year's Eve (of course I have a good memory!), his grandma, nursing homes, and Chinatown. It's fine if he picks me up at 6 or so, since I don't necessarily want to piss off the parents, either... we wished each other a Merry Christmas, since it wasn't the time to tell him about my day. Tomorrow! At least that made me feel a bit better, heh.

Later, I updated James and Vanessa on things via YM and MSN. Briefly called Mom, who says dinner starts at 6 since Erin and Ben will be there for about an hour or so. Guess I'll see - I still need to buy some stuff tomorrow, so I hope things won't be TOO crazy! Then she wondered how I knew Vania had a card for me, and whether I replied to her with "my mom has the card." Um, no... that's nuts!

2011 Yearly Survey: Fashion Concept, Achievement, New People

This entry is allowed to have non-aligned tags.

Fashion Concept, Achievement, New People

1. What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before? Played a whole bunch of new (to me) video games like FINAL FANTASY VI!

2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? Didn't really make any, so there aren't any to break. As for next year, the only one I have is NO MORE HOUSEGUESTS! FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY!

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Hmm... Michelle. Not sure about anyone else.

4. Did anyone close to you die? Nope.

5. What countries did you visit? None.

6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011? People who are true.

7. What dates from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

Jan. 1 (watched MANOS - with commentary - and TRON while having hot pot with white Eric, Jon, Harmony, Jen, Jason, Dianne, Nathan, Raymond, Ray [a little person!], Isabel, Wesley, Christon, Jeremy, his brother Mark, and Trish at Jeremy's... also had dinner at the HOHOHOs, with a stopover at Peter and Holly's later)

Opinions aren't calendar dates and easily changed!

Let's just say that I will not be changing my opinion of anybody because it's Christmas! Eric picked me up, and we talked about last night since I was unable to do so with his mother in the car yesterday! Then he made me do a spiritual exercise about the birth of Jesus and what it meant because I referred to Christmas as "another day on the calendar" in my rant about how I would never forgive people based on what day it was! I'm not saying Christmas ISN'T special, but I think it's lost its meaning. It's sad, so I need to find my own.

Church itself was okay, although I did have to move after saying hi to Nathan because I noticed Paul was right behind me. How Harmony can stand sitting next to someone who's really tone-deaf, I don't know! Eric drew the Day 9 STARCRAFT guy, and then drew me and Paul with a plus sign connecting us - he later claimed it was a cross. I DON'T THINK SO! Said hi to Yvonne, Ben and Erin (!), Darren C. and a couple of his friends, Lily, Maxine, Keenan, Calla, Hannah L., Gavin, Grace, Micah, Christon, Cindy, Dianne, Vivian, Karen and Lincoln, Adam L., baby Ava, Tim, Billy, and a few others. When I saw the Awana kids, I said hi to Sean and Ian! Saw Julie, who hugged me: "I FINALLY FOUND YOU!" YAY! I gave her the brandy beans and massive Reese's peanut butter cups, so she hugged me tightly while thanking me - the surprise and joy was the best Xmas present ever! Went upstairs to talk to Quan and Gino, while Ramen / Shira / Jessie / Martin / Wesley / Ashley were there for Toddler Sunday School.

I had just finished telling Jessie that I'd be there for the entire time when Eric came upstairs and said we had to leave since he had food prep to do before going to his grandma's - oops! When we went downstairs, I shouldn't have gone into the fellowship hall while looking for people to give leftover candy - Jon thought that Paul had something to say to me, and literally made me listen. WHAT IS IT WITH HIM AND BEING A DOWNER?! I WAS NOT IN THE MOOD TO LISTEN TO FAKE XMAS WISHES OR FORGIVE! Trust me, I discussed this with Eric at length on the way home! (that is, when he wasn't bugging me about Matt or ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT Christmas music or the New Year's Eve stuff) HE DIDN'T APOLOGIZE TO ME! Ugh... at least my OTHER FRIENDS get it! I HATE CERTAIN PEOPLE, AND ALWAYS WILL!
