Poutine, Lindt chocolate, pub glasses, and Grandma

So much for not going out till Thursday - my laundry detergent cup is ruined after doing some laundry, so I had to get another one. Thank goodness I can shop on my OWN schedule! Found some pub glasses at London Drugs which were $1.20 each, so I bought four of them... good to have spares around, just in case! Also bought a 300g on-sale Lindt dark chocolate bar (the sale expires tomorrow), and some Ruffles sour cream and bacon chips. Then I went home to put it away before going out again for A&W poutine at the Richmond Centre food court - Troy Anthony is to blame for this, since he was posting pictures of said dish in Puckheads! Since I was out anyway, I decided to go see Grandma at Dogwood - I knew my mom would make a big deal out of my not coming today. I didn't go last Tuesday (but I went the next day!), and to hear her go on about it, it's like I never visited Grandma last week. *rage* When my parents offered to let me tag along for baby-minding, I said no. Then when my mom said I should call her if I needed a ride to the long-term care home tomorrow, I said I probably wouldn't be coming out. YAY FOR "ME" time, until the weekend anyway! They gave me some white nectarines for Uncle Michael and Aunt Leslie, plus measuring tape to size out Grandma's feet / shoes before they left.

Grandma thought I was Steph AGAIN, and wanted me to eat food there; no thanks! Uncle Michael offered me two throat lozenges and a banana, which I took. We talked about transit, Aaron coming in November, their not coming to Sunday's dinner since they needed to pack, the long days involved in driving from Burnaby to Dogwood and back again, China, cruising, the Blue Jays-Mariners game, a monkey in a classic movie, and more. It was nice to actually talk to him, heh. When I decided to leave at 6 after Grandma had finished her dinner, I had JUST missed the Cambie bus! On the way home, two stupid bicyclists didn't see me and almost ran me over! FUCK!

Vanessa, Cora's crepes, Darren Morrison, CHOSEN ONES

Replied to Mandy's email this morning, heh. Vanessa got on MSN to say that I should try the HUGE crepes at Cora's in Ironwood... haha, maybe when I actually have money! She says she's back next week (which works), but Wayne's away for a while; got it. I checked my Yahoo account since she sent me a picture, and discovered that Darren M. had emailed me a spam HCG Ultra Drops link, like Farrah unwittingly did a couple weeks ago!

Candy showed me this Tumblr picture; someone get that guy a dictionary!

Ice Wine Chocolates! / You should have babies after getting married...

Visited Grandma briefly (she was watching old English movies), and went to the People's Drug Mart across the street from Dogwood to get a new pencil case (since my old one got really wet) and those ice wine chocolates that I'd seen last week: one for me, one for Chinese Eric, and one for Harmony. I'm sure Harmony will like them, haha! FAVORITE HOS, indeed! Unfortunately, the Canucks pencil case I got was too small for my stuff, so I went to London Drugs instead. (the Oakridge Zellers didn't have what I was looking for) Good thing that their purses and such were on sale, as I managed to get one which wasn't ridiculously huge for a "wallet"! When I got home, I put the chocolates in the fridge - thank goodness I didn't have to worry about them melting like I would have last week in the heat! Eve May added me to Facebook, too - WHEE! Then again, Daniel Lawlor unfriended me... oh well?

Grandma, on life stages after I reminded her that my brother has an infant son (she seems not to remember meeting him EVER): "Of course your brother has a baby! He got married, so he should have one by now!" HAHAHAHA!

WINTER LIGHT, 80s bands, arugula, and Rice Krispie Squares

Bused to Jeremy's after getting REALLY immersed in gaming stuff (and went to Shoppers Drug Mart at Kingsgate Mall - saw Halloween candy displays / rainbow candy Rice Krispie Squares [I bought 40 in a box] / a 4-pack of Skor bars), where I met him / Eric / Christon / Jon / Pastor Bob. To my surprise, I saw Randal there! We had gazpacho, arugula salad, chicken, frozen yogurt, and different sorts of beer. Discussed influential bands, olive oil, New Order (Eric hadn't heard their songs!), Sonic Youth, Radiohead, Usher, sexy songs, the Smiths, Duran Duran, RED DWARF, Nirvana, Hong Kong and Cantopop, the Cure, INXS, Devo, Yaz, R.E.M., Human League, Depeche Mode, Tears for Fears, Christon / Sam / Emily being considered "old" by Timothy Fellowship standards, and more. Winter Light was set between two church services on one afternoon: suicide, cruel words, love, relationships, gossip, and religious crises - OH MY! After Eric drove Jon home, we talked about characters / existence / sleeping. Interesting!

Food Network with Grandma / Trail mix!

Grandma, on the Food Network: "They don't have to pay any money for the breakfast food. Are you hungry? You can eat this for free!"

Went to visit Grandma today for about an hour or so; for some reason, she thought I'd like to eat everything on the Food Network. Sure, but not now! She also asked why Jon wasn't there, said that she didn't want to eat fried chicken, objected to the open door (but it's HOT OUTSIDE!), and was all right just sitting in her wheelchair watching TV. When I left before everything on the Food Network made me want to eat everything on the screen (one show was even set in Vancouver!), she asked whether I wanted to sleep there! Nope, I had things to do! I figured I might as well visit her on Thursday instead of tomorrow since I'll be out anyway: I should be fine if I leave here by 4, and leave there by 5:30 to get to Langara Station on time. Hopefully, anyway...

Got some trail mix at the People's Drug Mart across the street as a slightly healthier edible birthday present for Chinese Eric, as I've been known to give him a metric buttload of chocolate before, most notably at Easter and maybe Christmas. I decided to combine that with the rest of the Werther's Originals since I can't / shouldn't eat the rest of those! (like HE should?! :P) Also got a Cadbury Dark Burnt Almond chocolate bar for my immediate consumption, since I was afraid it might melt in the heat. Went to London Drugs and got on-sale whiteout x3, on-sale Maltesers, on-sale chocolate coins for Eric, an on-sale mango / pineapple juice, and on-sale peanut butter truffle chocolate bars x2. (I'm keeping one of the truffle bars for myself, while the other can go to Chinese Eric) Put the stuff in the fridge when I got home, of course.

Saying goodbye to Yvonne, vase breaking, and Havarti

Good thing I checked my trash folder this morning, since Mom has stated that Yvonne is leaving soon, and I could go to Dogwood to see Grandma and say goodbye to Yvonne. That lined up with my own plans - thank goodness I finished copying and pasting enemy names to my draft posts at 2:30 AM, and finally finished the tag lists at 3 PM! Finally finished the bagels and wafers, along with the FARMHOUSE rice. Called Steph to advise her of my plans; I'm sure I'll meet their new dog Havarti soon, even if Big G didn't like the dog licking her face in greeting! My vase from Elizabeth (which I've been using to store laundry money) broke, too! I've had that for more than ten years! Managed to buy a clear case at the drug mart across the street from Dogwood, which was less than $1.75 - very affordable!

Saw Yvonne, William, and Andrea in Big G's room with Mom - Grandma was trying on some new shoes in her wheelchair. Talked a bit to Andrea, who said they'd gone to Whistler and did some shopping, and were leaving tomorrow at 1. I'm sure she was bored, but there's nothing to be done about that. Took some photos, and tried getting Grandma to walk a few steps; that would have been fine, except she fell down! Luckily, Dad was there to grab her! Andrea gave me a piece of peach Hi-Chew candy, prompted by her mom. I told her that I'd save it for later, heh. An angry person is living there who has an infectious disease... AIYA! When we said bye to Grandma (who thought she was in a hotel or at home - a floating hotel!), Yvonne was crying afterwards. That totally makes sense! At least I got a ride home; Mom wants me to go visit Big G at least once a week, which of course I shall do! Now. it's back to DRAGON WARRIOR III!

Rainbow Chelita, Advent Desert bones, and energy!

I was up at noon for the first time in maybe a month, which is VERY good for the sleep debt! Chelita (rainbowchelita) messaged me on AIM because she thought I was someone else, hahaha. I updated her on stuff, then. Went to visit Grandma, who could be discharged to Dogwood tomorrow morning - good news, for once. She seemed to have a bit more energy and was sitting in her wheelchair; I spoon-fed her some soup with garlic in it (Mom thinks it'll prolong Grandma's life by months), and discovered that she thought I was Steph!

Mom gave me some sausages and soft Hello Kitty candy; since you have to cook the sausage first (I prefer pre-cooked stuff) AND it's not the type of candy I'd eat much of, I just threw it out when I got home. David S. invited me to an RQ Facebook group, and already Mer is wondering about it! Evelyn decided to accept it, and Brian's defending me. It's not like I will do a bunch of stuff there, hahaha. (they took me out of there within hours, though) Called both Jon and Lillian to update them on things: Lillian can pick me up tomorrow at 9 for the transfer at 10, which is fine.

These Advent Desert bones make a useful signpost!

This set of Advent Desert bones won't attack you since it's a nice guy's corpse!

Chocolate Candy Shop Blizzard for Miracle Treat Day / Singing Monkeys

Someone called from St. Paul's Hospital to see if Mom could work for someone; that's not going to work so well since she's in Russia at the moment, hahaha! Veronica reminded me about Dairy Queen's Miracle Treat Day, so I stopped in to get a Chocolate Candy Shop mini Blizzard. It was the smallest size available, and perfect for me. There was a lineup out the door! Called Jon later to figure stuff out: maybe Sunday afternoon will work for seeing Ayler! He did say he'd visited Grandma (where they're setting up for that 70s party), who apparently is having trouble swallowing. Maybe THAT'S why she spits out food these days...

There's a singing monkey at the Cream Puff Zoo!

In Magicant: "Whoa, those are some weird clothes you have on there. I bet you'll attract monsters dressed like that!"

Hey, it's the Flying Men of Magicant! They look like parrots!

"I'm a cat that swims in the ground."

"I bent my spoon and it's hard to use like this."

MOTHER 3: Lucas and Boney check the Ultimate Chimera in the Chimera Lab, and the game says "No problem here." Uh, it's going to kill the party if they touch it... there IS a problem! :P

If you guard against the Bonus Swoosh / Groucho, it'll greet everyone politely and leave, which makes your experience points from the fight come out to 72 instead of three.

Upon checking this dragon in the Magicant Crystal Cave: "The dragon is asleep. NINTEN can't wake it up just yet." Probably a good thing!

Wheelchairs, Werther's, FFIV, Chinese Eric, and more!

Decided to visit Big G briefly today; she was engaged in cleaning her new wheelchair when I got there, and refused apples / oranges / even her beloved Werther's Originals candy! I got her to have one by unwrapping it first, because I wasn't going to feed it to her if I didn't have to! That visit made me sad, but at least I visited her! She also pretty much refused milk... *sigh*

Got home and FINALLY finished FINAL FANTASY IV ADVANCE again! Since I need a break from the FINAL FANTASY universe in general, I'll go play MOTHER / EARTHBOUND games instead! Chris Lam is emailing me some AWANA-related stuff yet again; whoops! Called Chinese Eric after FORREST GUMP finished on TV, and we managed to pack a lot into a ten-minute conversation: 160-Pound Scrotum Guy, TLC's weird TV shows, Jon and Harmony bringing baby Ayler to church for the first time yesterday, hanging out, relatives and family friends in town ("can I go now?!"), HOARDERS, hoodies, weekend plans, calling tomorrow night, eating dinner / doing stuff on the computer, Russia, and more. That was awesome! :D

DONE THE GAME AGAIN!

SunBlaster "no electricity" / Ripping grey luggage bag!

This morning, I thought that Mom's SunBlaster for the plants had run out of electricity when it wouldn't turn on when I plugged it in. In fact, I'd managed to confuse the hot water boiler plug and the one for the SunBlaster. This is what happens when I'm not fully awake. o_O

Slightly later, I broke a glass jar of strawberry jam; I cleaned it up (staining my white socks and green pants), and found some Kleenex for Grandma in the process. I decided to bring the Pasta-Roni (FARMHOUSE isn't suited for my microwave!), salsa, chips, coffee, bagels, evaporated milk, fettucelle, peanuts, Ragu pasta sauce, and more stuff home. I'll save the Chiclets / Dentyne gum and the Lemon Heads for the kids! The grey luggage bag ripped in the process; too much heavy stuff! At home, I put everything away, and then went to see if London Drugs / Coast Mountain Sports / Sears / Bentley's had any duffel bags. Nope, but I did get some BBQ pork with rice and salad at Good-Ah! Went back home to grab my blue Adidas bag for now, and managed to fit my church stuff in the Las Vegas bag instead. Got back to the townhouse and watered the plants in the hot weather... I might give them some more later. BOTTLED WATER FOR ME!

Werther's Originals, Häagen-Dazs, pulled pork, and "kind" offers

Mom emailed me with an offer yesterday afternoon: she could pick up some of my stuff today after lunch so I can stay at the townhouse till they come back. Since they're not going till the wee hours of the morning (3:30 AM), and I don't think I want to be around them when they're stressed out, I'll decline that "kindness." Gotta keep myself sane, after all. ;)

After I did what I had to do, I decided I needed a little break from hunting down the very rare Lamia Matriarch in the Babel Tower / Tower of Babil. I went to Subway to see if they still had the limited-time BBQ pulled pork sandwich. I'd read online that it was kinda like a McRib, which I wasn't QUITE impressed with when I tried it at McDonalds last year, but I can't resist these things! Went to London Drugs to get some butterscotch Werther's Originals for Grandma to see if she'll eat those, and couldn't resist some fuzzy peach candies for her as well. Then I saw some on-sale Häagen-Dazs, so I got the new flavor: BROWNIES AND COOKIE DOUGH! When I got home, I discovered that the zipper on my wallet broke; guess I'll get a new one soon! I also saw TWO strollers just lying out in the apartment halls where anyone could take them... what the heck is with my neighbors?! (unless they're free, but even then...)

Tasty worthless teapots, Skittles rainbows, Bartz doubles, my back

Ghido the Turtle Sage: "The shock of the two worlds merging sent everything topsy-turvy... including me! I'm a bit old to do much on my back, I rue." HA, I bet. ;)

"The wind and ocean are done for! Now our ships are as worthless as chocolate teapots, and not even as tasty." - a dock worker in Carwen

Ack! It's a double Bartz in Carwen! Actually, it's the Famed Mimic Gogo (on his way to the sunken Tower of Walse), who is a master of impersonation - no wonder the party saw him as a green-haired woman!

In the Pirate Cave, someone says he'll soon be tasting the rainbow since he's still seasick! (NOT a reference to homosexual behavior, but SKITTLES!)

AUNTIE! / HYMN for a boy child?! (a girl would have been bad, too...)

When Eric called me this morning after I'd gotten an offliner MSN message from him ("are you pretending to be offline?"), I told him that I'd been out seeing the baby! Yes, it is finally out and into the world. I guessed I might as well go to church, and then found out that Tammy had posted congratulations on my wall - I had to delete that within 24 seconds, man! On the way there, we discussed birth details / my mother / the baby / construction / traffic lights / dirt trucks / Ikea being demolished / his Fellowship Committee Meeting this afternoon / New York accents. At church, Auntie Ying / Auntie Catherine / Auntie Lillian / Auntie Vivian / Brian / Denise / Anita / Jeff / Emily / Joey / Lincoln / Randal / Auntie Brenda / Uncle Eric / Vivian congratulated me at varying times throughout the day. When I got into service, I whispered the news to Denise while waving hi to baby Micah, who played the drums later in the fellowship hall. I sat with Eric (as is usual when we come in after 10), but we had to move over to make room for Karen. Afterwards, I gave her the stuffed Easter bunny for her son Marcus, who just calls them all "dogs," hahaha. I talked to Vivian about the baby name spelling (like "Tyler," but with an A instead of a T), to Randal about the name's meaning / becoming an aunt, to Brian about how he was waiting for the FB announcement all week, to Lincoln about Vegas and the baby, to Gino about last Friday, to Sarah C. about Ultimate at Sunrise Park, to Hien about the baby (Corey and Kenny had congratulated me yesterday via Skype messages), to Auntie Catherine about getting together when I get back, to little Joanna about where her mom Anita was (I hadn't seen her!), and just said hi to Amanda / Jeremy / others.

After I talked to the Wongs for a while, Joanna yelled "BYE!" to me several times - how cute! She's never talked to me before, and her big sister Allison loves her sundresses! I saw Ashley, Anastasia, her dad Danny, Ramen / Shira and their mom Jessie, Ada, Wesley, Martin, Mattias, James, David, Evelyn, and a new boy child named HYMN at Toddler Sunday School today. I'd like to know what the kid's parents Sam and Irene were smoking when they decided that HYMN was a good name for the child; not that it would have been better if it were a girl. At least the kid appeared to understand a bit of English! Discussed Mott's Fruitsations, slides, gummies, Goldfish crackers, slides, coloring, crashes, Lego, and more. Talked to David and Evelyn's mom Linda for a bit later on: she says the kids are naughty and give her a headache! Hahaha, I bet that does happen!

Went downstairs to find a bazaar in full swing; Grandma complained that the noodles were all sold out: OF COURSE THEY WERE! I gave a bunch of candy to Julie C., Natalie W., and Hannah W. to share; then I asked Eric (who had asked whether *I* had cash for the bazaar food - I paid for curry fish balls, but not for rice wraps or BBQ pork) whether he were going to the Floata farewell dinner for Auntie Rebecca. He probably was and could give me a ride there and back, but he didn't have the cash for a ticket. I gave him my payment for my own ticket, and he joked that he'd go buy something nice with it instead. HE'D BETTER NOT, SINCE $22 IS IMPORTANT! Since Dad was going home afterwards, I opted to go home with him and Grandma; good thing Mom was at work! At home, I got an offliner from Chinese Eric with CONGRATS and HUGS and "TELL ME ALL THE DETAILS NEXT TIME! SO HAPPY FOR JON / HARMONY!" Hahahaha, he KNOWS that I will DEFINITELY do that! I also replied to Mandy's email while I was at it.

Batteries exploding and penis-shrinking chemicals!

After I ate the last of my Easter candy and found out that L.A. would advance to the Stanley Cup Final, Corey replied to my Skype message about the laptop noises:

[12:04:33 PM] Leslie: and now my laptop is going to die since it's making screechy noises.
[7:55:50 PM] Leslie: I think my computer is going to die - wait, I told you that already. Maybe it needs to be cleaned.
[9:50:49 PM] Corey: sounds like a fan problem
[9:53:35 PM] Leslie: so is the computer going to explode?
[9:59:01 PM] Corey: probably
[10:09:34 PM] Leslie: seriously
[10:10:26 PM] Corey: the explosion is about the same as a standard military hand grenade
[10:13:42 PM] Leslie: I want 100% truth from you
[10:14:05 PM] Corey: well, do YOU think it will explode?
[10:14:54 PM] Leslie: I'm going to fart on you if you don't answer me
[10:15:28 PM] Corey: okay
[10:16:04 PM] Corey: the only way it will explode is if it was made in China
[10:16:14 PM] Corey: their batteries are known for exploding
[10:18:11 PM] Leslie: oh shit
[10:18:23 PM] Leslie: I think Eric got this in Hong Kong
[10:20:20 PM] Corey: if it's a real computer brand, not something weird, it won't explode........ but if you buy cheap replacement batteries from China, they don't follow the proper safety standards, and those literally can explode. you've probably seen stories about phones and computers blowing up in airports
[10:20:49 PM] Corey: that only happens with cheap Chinese batteries. the last time I bought a phone battery here, they assured me it was made in Taiwan and won't explode
[10:21:49 PM] Corey: though I don't really trust Taiwanese brands much more... they caught a huge food company putting poison in basically every drink sold in Taiwan last year, and I almost definitely drank some of it
[10:27:55 PM] Leslie: yeah, I've seen those stories... and you WHAT?! OH MY GOD
[10:28:58 PM] Leslie: how did they catch that?
[10:30:27 PM] Corey: I don't know. I think the government actually bothered to test something and discovered it
[10:31:05 PM] Corey: look it up, it's called DEHP, and appears to be pretty nasty. they used it instead of some food additive, because apparently nobody would notice the difference and the poison is cheaper
[10:31:49 PM] Corey: in general here, people only think things are bad if they get caught. so everyone thinks that company is evil, but if they weren't caught and a lot of people knew it, they'd just say it was business
[10:31:59 PM] Corey: people here lie and cheat an awful lot
[10:32:24 PM] Leslie: I'm not surprised they used it because it was cheaper.
[10:32:29 PM] Corey: not that people in the West don't, either... but the culture is pretty different. EVERYONE in school cheats.
[10:32:42 PM] Corey: they're almost trained to
[10:32:42 PM] Leslie: and I take it that gets glossed over?
[10:33:30 PM] Leslie: what the hell.... according to my search results, DEHP is one of the top six chemical threats to humans.
[10:34:07 PM] Corey: yay!
[10:38:10 PM] Leslie Ng: Penis-Shrinking Chemical Banned?
[10:39:35 PM] corey_t: yeah!!!
[10:42:02 PM] Leslie Ng: Taiwanese products with DEHP named

Screechy laptop noises?!

Before I left the townhouse, Mom also gave me some milk / a bottled water / Kleenex / candy. Steph and I discussed maxipad expense, wedding reception seating (Rachel and Viv? I'm in!), wedding reception food (ahi tuna / key lime cheesecake and much more), sanity, the Grand Canyon, US money, Auntie Ruby, health, and downtime in the car. Got home before 6:30 and turned on the laptop; not only did it take longer to start up, it's also making screechy noises! AIYA! Time for more editing work on filters and the past!

Dream: Candy, Chrystal, Chinese Eric, and children

I ate some Tomato Alfredo for lunch; I haven't bought that stuff since November?! Also spent some time uploading some 2005 Alaska Cruise photos to Facebook, which meant that I had to tag others! (despite Billie telling me that she'd had a bunch of notifications) Had to restart FINAL FANTASY II: DAWN OF SOULS because of glitches, too - SO ANNOYING!

I dreamed of Chrystal handing out Halloween candy at church to a bunch of kids, and I was typing everything up on the church website. Chinese Eric was hanging around and interacting with the children while waiting for me to be finished so we could go to the fair. Interesting; I guess I really should call them both so I can get some FRIEND TIME in before Vegas, haha! I just hope Baby Dragon is born at some point, since I'm waiting for that to happen...

Alefgard Roasted Chicken / Sponge cake, Israel, and dwindling commitment

Hung out with Chrystal, meeting her at London Drugs like usual. We went to White Spot for dinner after I gave her that bag of chocolate and mints; we also looked at the cereal and chocolate options at London Drugs. I had Tuscan chicken pasta and most of the dulce de leche gelato, while she had a salad. Talked about Vegas, the differing weather, busy work / restaurant, what I did with Steph, Melia, Angus, getting along with Emily in short doses (like at the new hot pot restaurant for Chrystal's birthday), Emily and Mike perhaps having kids in future, Harmony's pregnancy (I'd be worried if it DIDN'T show by now!), TV shows, DANCING WITH THE STARS, THE HUNGER GAMES, movies, MARIO KART / video games, her resort trip to Mexico, her parents going to Hong Kong / mine going to Russia, and books.

Discussed our "bad" behaviors in planning to skip church / sermons / Fellowship (dwindling commitment - I can look after the baby!), Cindy's trip to Israel, and more. Afterwards, we checked out the nearby Asian bakery; we got three Chinese buns ([chocolate] sponge cake) because of a "buy two, get one free" special. Then we went our separate ways: I went to London Drugs first to get two noodle packs for use in hot and sour soup noodles later, on-sale melatonin just for my Vegas trip (DO NOT OPEN), three on-sale Wunderbars since Chrystal's never had any, and an iced tea. Got home and cleaned the microwave a little, found a notebook for my trip, and relaxed. I put the new melatonin bottle in a Ziploc bag, just to be even more on the safer side... hopefully, this is fine!

Vodka-soaked gummi bears = SUCCESS! / Chinese Eric / DW1 and 2

I am pleased to announce that the alcohol-soaked gummi bears (looking pregnant) are a success! Next time (if the budget allows), more potent booze should be used. :D Despite what Eric thought yesterday, they aren't suudsu, which is a Homestar Runner thing: gummi bears and milk, which I've also tried once. Later, I tried calling Chinese Eric, but Auntie said he was sleeping at 7; the poor guy needs all the rest he can get, so that's perfectly understandable! Replayed DRAGON WARRIOR 1 and 2, as well.

Josh, NO SLEEP, skin, G as Q, church reluctance

Josh buzzed me on AIM last night to say that he saw my postings in Random Thought. Then I got virtually no sleep, getting up at 5:30 and then 6:30 after going to bed at 1. If this is my subconscious getting under my skin to GO TO CHURCH, I GET IT. Now just shut up so the next couple of weeks can be quiet and free. :P (seriously, I think I'll need something stronger like orange vodka screwdrivers!)

Also talked to Chris W. and Chrissy about stupid idiots who type "g" as a "q" - it's damn fucking annoying, even if it IS black slang! Called Eric to make sure he knew I was (reluctantly) up for church, but got his mom Veronica on the phone instead. Said hi to her, and then got him on the phone. I made sure to ask whether he was doing anything after church that I should know about; apparently, he's having lunch with a bunch of Daniel people. Since I have a metric fuckton of candy in my fridge to give out (and I really should empty the fridge), I decided to go anyway. He said that I could get my own lunch... well, there goes that $100 bill!

TITANIC links, orange vodka screwdrivers, gummi bears, and turnip cake

Titanic Encyclopedia
Twitter - TITANIC real time - 100 years ago!

As I was leaving the house, I heard a Trillian message alert; I figured whoever it was (it turned out to be James) would have to wait! Went to Subway, where I got a $5 footlong Veggie Delight sandwich (with extra olives!) for later. Then I hit up the liquor store, where I knew my budget didn't allow for hard liquor; good thing I saw plenty of four-packs of 330mL (lemonade / raspberry citrus) Smirnoff spritzers or orange vodka screwdrivers for sale! I chose the latter since it was 7% alcohol as opposed to 5%, hahaha. As I fully expected to get ID'ed, I wasn't surprised when I was. My last stop was Price Smart, where I got on-sale Cottonelle toilet paper / leek dumplings / vegetable dumplings / 810g bulk gummi bears.

When I got home, three of the four bottles proved to be more than enough to completely soak (or drown) the gummi bears in the metal bowl that Teunis got me at the store last year. YES! Mom did indeed drop off the turnip cake later, along with 400g of Lifesaver jellybeans (I had only a few since they're too sweet - most of those went to the kids / Julie C. / Chrystal) and 90g of bubble gum eggs, which I kept for myself. Talked to James on YM for a bit before eating Yum Yum beef noodles, then gamed for a bit. YES! MY RADIMVICE "SOLO HERO - CAST MAGIC LIGHTNING" STRATEGY WORKED AGAINST THE DEMIGHOUL! FINISHED DRAGON WARRIOR 4 AGAIN!
