4-3 REVENGE against Bruins! / EARTHBOUND and Mr. Saturn!

At home yesterday after making mushroom soup, I managed to start up a game of EARTHBOUND since I could do so from some semblance of memory. Now that I'm here at the library and have brought my laptop with me, I also copied and pasted the FF VI walkthrough I've been using to Word, so I can do that at home also! I asked Ryan to keep me updated on the game just in case I didn't wake up in time, and he did. He's a sweetheart, although I kinda wonder if I'd be saying that if Vancouver hadn't won 4-3!

Eric said he'd check the connection problem out tomorrow after church, which is fair enough since I don't want to bother him any more than I have to. I know the C94 doesn't run on Sundays anyhow, so hopefully it'll be fine then, although I'm not holding my breath! Sonya seems to have deleted her FB account again, too.

Mao's dancers, clash of Kings, Shaw "service"

I'm back at the library, having borrowed Mao's Last Dancer (Li Cunxin) and A Clash of Kings (George R.R. Martin) before I even got to the computer room. Thank goodness for time extensions, otherwise I'd never be able to catch up on the last 24 hours around here! At least Randal DID email me back, and I got interesting stuff to read.

Due to this stupid Internet problem, I won't be able to fully participate in my beloved weekly tradition for the first time in MONTHS! UGH! The people at Shaw were not helping. I told them that I knew I was disconnected from the Internet (I have a thing on my taskbar that clearly shows the status), and they STILL wanted me to go to various browsers to see if that was the case! Hello, I am not DUMB. I called Eric later, who at least kinda helped.

Bryan, Shaw intermittent outages, inactive library account?

I had some thoughts about certain people in my life last night; private entries are indeed a good thing! Bryan surprises me and is crazy, for sure! When I got up today, I found that the Internet was intermittently in and OUT; Shaw even knew about it, too. Called Dr. Ruby's office, and got a good time in the future (the 26th at 3:30) for my testing. I finally decided to go to the library (being lucky to even send Mandy a reply at home about how Randal thinks Mr. Creep is a bad person now because of what he said about slapping Jen around), and found out that my library account is listed as inactive. UGH! I guess I'll have to do something about that while I'm here. Also, I just sent Randal a LONG email about my feelings regarding Mr. Creep AND Paul, since I couldn't tell him anything at Jeremy's with Paul being RIGHT THERE that night!

Edit: I just figured things out with the Accounts desk, and have checked out In the Still of the Night: The Strange Death of Ronda Reynolds and Her Mother's Unceasing Quest for the Truth (Ann Rule) - now, I have to remember to return it!

3-0 wins over Minnesota / Locke puking!

Listened to a good 3-0 win over Minnesota, heh. Talked to James on YM, as is becoming quite the usual thing these days; I think that's a good thing!

Janina (mrshannibal): "Leslie - thought of you the other day, and threw together some fun stuff. I made the pinball machine blank card, and two of the postcards. Speaking of which, I hope you like the wizard and fairy postcards. The other two postcards are from a book of funky / odd postcards. I've been wanting to send you some different postcards - not just the usual city / town / state ones. I hope you like the stickers... I made the bear sticker at the bottom of this page - I figured it went along with the paw stickers. Haven't seen the new HARRY POTTER movie as of yet. Lately, we've been watching CSI and Law & Order DVDs. I love those shows - I find them to be the equivalent to comfort food. Off to do some grocery shopping! Have a cool day! Love, Janina."

Nellie Elizabeth Palmer-Strawn and Nanking... NO!

Nellie Elizabeth Palmer-Strawn wanted to add me to Facebook; I DON'T THINK SO! Seems as if Golden has undeleted his own account, which is good! Apparently, Christon's JUST realized that small group outing is this Friday; since Raymond's group is seeing some theatre play about Nanking and winter, they've invited us along. That sounds like it costs money; besides the Raymond factor, I really don't think it's a good idea for me!

Free drugs, Weetabix, "jumbo" packages, and sanity

Finally got to call Dr. Ruby's office at 2:45, and got an appointment time two hours later - that was quicker than I expected, so YAY! I then showered and then had to clean up a big water mess with towels and such, so LAUNDRY TIME IT WAS before noodles! Of course, James messaged me on YM while I was busy with the above, so I ignored it (not really on purpose? haha) in favor of doing this before I had to leave the apartment. Saw Auntie Stella, who was impressed that I didn't have to wait at the office! I brought up the possibility of something else happening inside, so Auntie Ruby said it would be worth checking out. Ultrasound for me in Richmond later, I'm guessing... and I'm not even pregnant!

Went to London Drugs to get my prescription filled, and spent the next hour or so reading various books (DRAGON TATTOO / Stuart McLean / DARWIN AWARDS / ACCORDING TO THE ROLLING STONES) before I wondered if it was ready yet! It was, and I got warned about nausea / hormones / side-effects! While I was at the store, I picked up two "jumbo three-month supply" packages of ALWAYS pads - HAHAHAHA! I DON'T THINK SO! Also bought on-sale Weetabix biscuits, an on-sale candy cane chocolate bar, and an on-sale bag of chocolate gold Santa eggs. Finally got home an hour ago, emailed Chinese Eric a slightly more thorough update than I plan to give James later (I know Eric won't feel icky), and then finally checked my IM session. Turns out he knows I'm busy, and wanted to update me on his whereabouts before he came home - aww, that's sweet! Called Steph to tell her about things; I'm not sure I'd tell MOM about this stuff, man! I AM NOT THE PREGNANT PERSON IN THIS FAMILY!

Alex and OLP in dream / Colorful patterns

I had a weird dream which involved Steph and Lisa playing jokes on me, going to church with Eric and then to a free Our Lady Peace downtown gathering which lasted all night, and then seeing Alex Lee at this event before walking home. Yes, Alex and I hugged since we hadn't seen each other in a long time. Interesting!

Forgetting secondary resolutions / Awkward Pho avoided...

I actually got up this morning; when I called Eric an hour later to bug him about the Pho family lunch (WHY WOULD I ASK WHETHER HE WERE GOING IF I WASN'T?!), he inadvertently reminded me of my secondary resolution to not go to church as much. This is NOT GOOD, hahaha. After that, I went back to bed. Got up again at 11:15 to discover that Eric had called four minutes before, so of course I called him back. He said that he obviously wasn't going to make it out today, so I said that was just fine by me! Then I called Steph since Jon probably wouldn't be available at that time: when she heard that we couldn't make it (and she had to tell Mom!), she tried convincing me to bus. I DON'T THINK SO! Maybe I'll call her next week so I can see when to get together with her and Lisa, heh. CHINESE NEW YEAR, GRANDMA, AND FIRE DRAGONS, OH MY!

What's Your Healthiest Habit?

I think Golden deleted his Facebook profile again, but I'm not surprised!

Your Healthiest Habit is Staying Serene

You believe excellent health starts with good mental health. You make sure your attitude is right first and foremost.

You realize that having a stressful life can lead to all sorts of bad lifestyle decisions.

The happier you are, the more you'll take care of yourself. It's really as simple as that.

You try not to worry about anything, and you're pretty good at keeping tranquility in your life.

I don't believe you're dying, not even for a second...

2012 wasn't even that old when it decided to provide me with some laughs! Eric sent me this email at 1:37 AM:

Hello Leslie,
Korey has received some bad news regarding his health. He has asked me to pass on an email of thanks and apology to you. Feel free to read it or do whatever you like with this email. I will keep it on hand.

Eric

Hi Leslie,

I am writing you this email to let you know I am very sorry. I am dying Leslie. Doc says I have less then 6 months left to live, maybe less than that he is saying. I got a second opinion so I know it going to happen. I want to apologize for ever hurting you or making you cry. I am sorry I wasn't the man you wanted me to be. I love you Leslie, you're a good person. You were a big part of my life and when I die piece of my heart will I am thankful you took good care of me and you loved me. I remember the first time we met and our first date. Leslie thank you for being in my life. No tears, you should be proud of yourself and your character.

Live, Laugh, Love
Kor.

My reply:

Hey, Eric. Are you sure he's not trying to manipulate us again into 27 different levels of hell?! "When I die piece of my heart will" - uh yeah, I'm pretty sure more than a piece of your heart will die if YOU actually do go into the grave, buddy! I kinda get what he's trying to say, but I really don't know. Can you personally verify this using another source other than him?

Tears? As a mark of respect for you, Eric, you don't want to know what the tears would be! Yes, I know I am a snarky disillusioned bitch or whatever, but for your sake, don't ask. As for thanking me for being in his life, I have not been in that dubious position for FOUR YEARS! He should be telling that to YOU if what he says is even true.

Sorry, but I require a death certificate... preferably a non-faked one! Or maybe that's just me being morbid. Who knows. I choose not to believe this email until you can verify it using a secondary source. You, I trust. Him, not so much.

I posted this to ONTD, and they provided me with support for staying cold and distant. My FB statuses: "I don't know what to do with this email that just arrived in my inbox. Part of me wants to laugh my head off (almost typed "heads" - I AM NOT MEDUSA!!!), and part of me just doesn't care. Oh well.... GOOD RIDDANCE, 2011. Will NOT miss you in any way, shape, or form! Bring on 2012 - THE YEAR OF THE FIRE DRAGON!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY YEAR!!!!!!!!!!" and "I have decided on a reaction: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! If your goal was to get me to think of you, congratulations. You did succeed, but not in the way you imagine. My Internet support network and I are all laughing at your miserable pathetic attempts to get me to sympathize with your 'health problems.' I will still NOT be contacting you."

2012 is here! / James, Tsui Woo, and a 4-1 loss

HAPPY 2012, YOU SEXY BITCHES! :D

Noticed that Trevor and Noah unfriended me OR deleted their profiles on Facebook; FINE, THEN! Talked to James via YM for a while until the hockey game was on... YAY! Mom called to insist I send Chinese Eric an email about the changed lunch plans for tomorrow; Pho instead of Tsui Woo does work diet-wise for white Eric, I'm sure. Alan apparently has other friends in town, heh. Well, I'm pretty sure he's not coming! Replied to Mandy's emails, too. Listened to a 4-1 loss to the Kings, as well. At least I had something to do!
