Wet mousepad, plum sakura blossom, and lots of junk food

My mousepad got water on it, so I had to go out to London Drugs anyway to buy a new artsy one after taking out the trash at home. I think that right near the plants is probably not a good place for this laptop, so I moved to the floor for now. Christine Bernier unfriended me on Facebook; her loss! I found out that I was looking at the wrong bus stop information on Translink; how annoying! This resulted in my missing at least two buses; when I finally got home, I grabbed my lotion / Advil gel caps / calculator / seaweed / nori peanuts (which a nice European lady at the bus stop opened for me) / wasabi peanuts / two bags of chips. Went to London Drugs and got on-sale plum and sakura blossom Dove body wash, large trash bags / the aforementioned artsy mouse pad. I hope it doesn't get wet anytime soon!

Bad sleep, laundry, redrum, rescheduling, and plants

This morning after a bad sleep (fell asleep at 4 - got up at 5:30 - got up again at 8:45), I prepared to go to the townhouse, and did some laundry at home after I took a shower. I could do it for free over here, but I didn't fancy the idea of dragging a garbage bag full of smelly crap with me on the bus later! Chrystal called at 12:20 to see if we could reschedule since she'd just gotten up: not a problem, since that might happen to me also! Next Wednesday sounds good - NO HOCKEY GAMES OR WEEKLY TRADITION AS CONFLICTS! Got to the townhouse to discover that redrum had started; I also forgot to take out the trash at home, so I guess I'll be going back there later today to do so. Sunday bus schedules are totally INSANE! Saw a bunch of Mom's plants on the table; good thing I'm not the one responsible for them! (Jon is)

No potluck / Bryan IDIOTIC / David S. being golden

Ended up missing the potluck since I took a much-needed nap at 5:30 and woke up at 7:15! Noticed that Eric had called me at 6:30; on the off-chance that he was still home, I called him. Ron answered the phone to say he'd already left; after thanking him, I called Eric's cell to find that he was already at church! I told him that I'd taken a nap, which he was dubious about. He said he'd see me on Sunday: haha, we'll see about THAT! Got to the computer to find that Eric had tried getting me on MSN, complete with devil emoticons and "DING A LING!" Hahaha!

Also found out about the Leafs hockey news - coach firings, indeed! Caught up on the weekly tradition, too. I swear I need to cut down on chocolate for my own good. Talked to David S. on YM for a while, too - hey, falling asleep randomly does happen, as I demonstrated! Also blocked Bryan for good - ASIAN FEVER AND NOT KNOWING ABOUT YOUR LIFE IS A DEAL-BREAKER! To David's credit, he listened to me vent. Yay for friendship! Alana also invited me to her birthday party in June: can't go, as Vegas is rather the priority then!

Spicy pig's ears! / Nori peanuts / Perfect excuses and passports

Steph called to see if I'd like to go out for lunch with the lards; thank goodness that the food shopping appointment provided the perfect excuse! I'll probably be able to stand them when they get back, even if I'll need to contact Flime about dinner that night in a couple of weeks! When Barry picked me up, I bought some things at Price Smart: Kleenex with lotion, Dutch Crunch chips (Jalapeno and Cheddar x2 - one for tonight's potluck / Cracked Black Pepper and Balsamic Vinegar / Mesquite BBQ), nori peanuts (impossible to open - I'll get Eric to do that), on-sale Samlip dumplings (kimchi / vegetable), Olympic Greek yogurt x2, some bananas, spicy pig's ears, Silk dark chocolate almond milk, a Jer's peanut butter and chocolate bar FOR Jer (hahahaha!), and a Grilled Beef Steakette "Pub Favorites" Hungry Man Dinner.

I was disappointed to learn that they didn't sell garbage cans anymore! He agreed to drive me to the post office at Shoppers Drug Mart in Blundell Centre, even if I was REALLY awkward about asking. Thank goodness, since I really would have had no time to bus there in the rain, keeping the beloved weekly tradition in mind! As I thought, the mail delivery notice was indeed for my new passport! Got home and called Steph after putting things away: I might start living at the lards' tomorrow, even. (concerned about that curry beef, I am!) With that in mind, I started to pack a few things like clothing!

Josh's hair covered his face?! / Cory and Nicholas sharing my tomato rice (dream)

Talked briefly to David S. on YM and Troy A. via Facebook messages before going to bed last night, and am talking to Brandi now about stuff. Dreamed of talking to Josh in a multi-floor school with blue-and-pink carpets. Suddenly, his hair went down and covered his face, causing him to go blind and not remember what happened for half an hour! I was with Helen's kids Cory and Nicholas, since they were sharing my plate of rice with tomato sauce. Nicholas told me that this was their favorite thing to eat - I didn't mind sharing the huge amount of rice! Their parents Helen and Danny didn't have to tell me to hide the kids' faces in my lap when Josh's hair covered his face! When the effect on Josh wore off, we asked him why his hair had done that; he couldn't think of why.

Later, Uncle Sam and Auntie Susanna came in with a cane and a black dog, which apparently helped them get around since they both had eye disorders. I briefly went out of the room to see what was going on outside, and saw kids turned around and lined up - someone could almost leapfrog over the kids' backs! Auntie Bessy genuinely thanked me for wandering around in the halls: this allowed Auntie Eva to see where I was, since she would be looking for me later. Triggers: Seeing Josh post family pictures of him / Joanna / little Nina on Facebook, reading Mom's email in which she told me to go to church on the 18th (or else Auntie Eva "will have a heart attack"), and seeing Uncle Sam at church a few weeks ago. Weird!

LETTERS TO SCREWTAPE isn't a uterus or envelopes!

Barry called me to say that tomorrow at noon works for food shopping; fair enough! Also replied to Mandy's way late email while I remembered. I checked my mail, and was responsible in paying my phone bill... I also got a mail delivery notice, which I think is referring to my passport. Yeah, I noticed a missed call at 10:30, but I wasn't ready to get up yet. Oh well, I can go tomorrow to Blundell Centre after 1. Maybe if I'm lucky, I can get Barry to drive me there after food shopping!

Called Steph, who says she's taking the lards to the airport in the morning - that doesn't work for me, but I kinda thought so. Eric got on MSN to ask about tomorrow's potluck / sharing / board games small group night, and also about the LETTERS TO SCREWTAPE book which he needs for Sunday School. (he's staying even later because of some worship ministry meeting) This resulted in hilarity! (and so did my later call to Mom: she did say I could stay for the duration of their holiday, and offered me curry beef / pasta / muffins / snacks / microwaveable meals)

Eric: "Hey, do you have the LETTERS FROM SCREWTAPE? I'd like to borrow it."
Me: "Yes, I have a uterus, but I fail to see what an envelope has to do with it."
Eric: "WTF?"
Me: "Damn, I guess I need to read things CAREFULLY before I respond on MSN."

Mom: "I sent out an email with our ITINERARY."
Me: "You spelled it wrong. Actually, you used the wrong word!"
Mom: "But I used the spellcheck!"
Me: "That's because you used the word LITERARY! Of course that wouldn't come up on the spellchecker! WTF."
Mom: "Is there even such a word? What's WTF?"
Me: *gives up on teaching Mom English / slang over the phone*

Leap Year traditions, citizenship, Troy, and Molly

Amused myself by taking advantage of the Leap Year tradition where women can ask men to marry them; David S. had no problem with it. He is sweet, and I feel comfortable enough with him! ("awww... do you need American citizenship?") Talked on YM for a bit about things, although his screen name made me think of Dave's from years ago. (He-Man!) Troy told me about Molly being back; I know, trust me! We exchanged messages about personal things, also.

PINK bags, bullying, baby toys, fontina cheese poutine

Note: Your LiveJournal Future Blogquiz, by Ashlee.

I went out to Lansdowne, but had no choice but to buy carrying bags with PINK on them since Winners didn't have anything else... and this on Anti-Bullying Day, too! Good thing it wasn't the dominant color (that would be green / brown), but I got three of them just in case one ripped suddenly AGAIN. I also got two baby toys (a ball and a stroller animal) for Harmony's baby shower, and a Jer's peanut butter bar. Since I was craving poutine, I decided to go for some, but the Richmond Centre place was closed due to construction. Instead, I went to White Spot, where I could substitute baked potato poutine for endless fries. Got full on the fontina cheese / caramelized onions / beef burger, so now I have leftovers.

2-1 shootout loss in Phoenix / James and feeling better / Molly

Tonight was the Vancouver debut of Pahlsson and Kassian, so I got to see what they could do... scoring chances are good! The game went into overtime and then another shootout, thanks to Ray Whitney tying it up in the third. It turned out to be a 2-1 shootout loss. Oh well, can't win 'em all. Talked to James for a bit, which made me feel better about things in general. Gotta love good friends that I can trust! Also found out that Molly refriended me on FB - hmm.

Zapping / February 2012 BBT Tally / Flaming Wok / Strawberry Melon

For some reason, I had the national anthem stuck in my head for a short time. I decided that a Bourbon chicken / mixed vegetables / Szechuan beef / noodles takeout meal from Flaming Wok would be better for my budget than steak, and also got a blueberry bubble tea from Big Orange. Then I discovered a hole in my Winners bag; guess I'll have to go to Lansdowne when it's not threatening to snow, and get a bunch more! Got on-sale Lindt chocolate hearts, a strawberry melon Brisk drink, on-sale candy conversation hearts for Steph and Lisa, more rice crackers, Turkey Bacon Club / Chicken Cheddar Broccoli Bistro Crustinis, on-sale Russell Stover mini milk chocolate bunnies for the Toddler Sunday School kids (and one for me), and almond milk from London Drugs.

Had to deal with a spill when I got home, which I think might necessitate a new garbage can! Checked my mail, and got a Valentine's Day card / Care Bear stickers / heart stickers from Janina. That cheered me up! Also talked to Corey briefly about sushi and his zapping me; just because I started the convo with "BZT!" doesn't mean I need to be zapped! Silly person! :D

Mt. Sperling and two nephews in the snow (dream) / Fugitive and double LIFE

Had a dream about my brother's baby looking just like him when he was a kid, and a double of that baby boy. I needed to juggle two strollers on transit while Jon and Harmony went to shop at a glizy mall. Then I went with the babies to Mt. Sperling station in the snow (12 minutes of going UP!), and deceiving people as to how smart the babies were. WTF?

I got out of the apartment ten minutes after I woke up, thinking that maybe I'd be able to catch a C94 during the day. Lo and behold, I was actually surprised when one showed up after I'd been waiting for about ten minutes! When I got to the library, I returned all the heavy books and borrowed A Tale of Two Lives - The Susan Lefevre Fugitive Story (Marie S. Walsh), Quirkyalone: A Manifesto for Uncompromising Romantics (Sasha Cagen), Red China Blues: My Long March From Mao to Now (Jan Wong), Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China (Jung Chang) as soon as I could. Also saw that Leonard O. had added me to Facebook because of the Puckheads hockey group. After this, I might have steak at BP and then maybe go to London Drugs before the hockey game.

Swarming bugs / CODY HODGSON TRADED?! / Blue Dragons! / Chrystal

Had a dream with black bugs swarming EVERYWHERE... UGH! Today is trade deadline day - CODY HODGSON TRADED TO BUFFALO?! WTF?! (Nathan had the same reaction... it'll make Saturday's game more interesting) Called Chrystal at work to see when she wanted to get together: this Saturday afternoon before Awana AND the hockey game works better, especially if I think she doesn't want to get home in the dark or whatever! After I sent the same blue dragon to Chinese Eric (of course!) / James (he needed cheering) / Janet / Chris H. / Jamie last night, I got a surprise LJ virtual gift of a blue dragon from QFemale (aka Eliza) this morning - NICE! Yes, I do have this blue dragon icon... putting it beside the picture of the virtual gift for comparison purposes.

Vicky, Talia, and Chinese Eric (book update and smiling!)

For some reason, Vicky unfriended me on Facebook. Whatever! Talked briefly to Talia on AIM, too. Also called Chinese Eric, and talked to him briefly about those Canucks books I saw at Chapters last week ("thanks for the UPDATE!" "OF COURSE!"), that heartbreaker of a Dallas hockey game, whether Jon mentioned bumping into him at that restaurant the day after we hung out on Valentine's (of course!), and seeing if a future hangout would coincide with a hockey game. He's definitely more likely to see me first before my brother, hahaha. That made me feel better, too! He definitely can make me smile, and cheer me up! (talked for a time to James, and I think it was okay)
