"I have lots of dehydrated people at my house!"

Bingos since I got home:

DOWSABEL (68 points) - against Ruth C.
FLATWISE (68 points), EXPLODED (65 points) - against Tara K. in the same game
MANTRAPS (63 points), DISPUTED (86 points) - against Audrey O. in the same game
BIFACIALS (78 points) - against Ryan L.
STAINED (70 points) - against Guy M.

I also played ROAR off ROARER, which is a word I made earlier in a game against Cynthia L. That's too quirky! :D

Henry picked me up, and said he'd had a quesadilla with sausage, green peppers, bacon, and much more for lunch, plus a leftover pork chop. I remarked that it sounded like quite the lunch, and said that someone I knew could consume two bowls of noodles / one bowl of cereal / quite a few pickles and STILL say he was hungry after only an hour or two! He laughed and said that it was par for the course if you were a guy, and even HE could do it! I'm sure you can, my friend.... then I noticed some Christmas music on his stereo. I was just about to say something when he beat me to the punch: "You're probably wondering why I'm playing Christmas music. It's on random / shuffle right now, and we can still have it in spring!" True, and it didn't really want to make me stab someone THIS time.... possibly because the first song didn't even sound all that Christmassy. :P (but the next was a variation on HARK THE HERALD) We also wondered about those big blue boxy vans which were too popular in Henry's opinion, and about why I was so tired - carbs, lack of energy, or not enough sleep? Maybe...

Got to Awana the latest we've been in some time (he picked me up at 3:45) - we could tell since the flag ceremony was almost over! I talked to Melia, Andrew, Chrystal, Amos, and Golden about Jordan saying the F-word to Andrew (NOT AT CHURCH!) / engagement photo sessions / the Fellowship birthday card / Amos' being sick / work experience hours / summer school / the Sun Run / my sister's experience at the run / a big tin of butter cookies in the kitchen. Since I had nothing better to do, I went to see this tin that had mysteriously appeared... I even took a few cookies for immediate consumption. When Jessica, Mary, Margaret, and Sylver took these tunnels out, people had fun with them! (Mike, Margaret, and Golden went inside them before the Cubbies came out for Game Time) Margaret asked Hilary for some gum - she didn't have any, but I had a Ziploc bag full of it! We couldn't tell the Juicy Fruit from the Excel, but it was okay.

Henry said that he had a dinner with Pastor Joe, and Auntie Rebecca was arranging a ride for me - it turned out to be Michelle, which was cool. The kids had fun with their kazoos, the LIVING ETERNALLY song, and such. On the way home while discussing whether purple and pink were "girl colors" (Eric has a white kazoo and Heyman has a green one - there were yellow and blue ones also), Ethan had a pee-scare: he quickly cried when his mom was telling someone on her phone about what happened! Teresa had seen the car on the side of the road near the Nature Park, and asked if she needed help since she thought there was something wrong!

Ryan figured his brother couldn't pee very near a ditch, and Michelle said that people would see you everywhere even if you think they wouldn't. (if you're a girl, you can pee in your pants if you're too shy / embarrassed to say something!) As for Ryan, he was dehydrated - a big word when you're almost eight! He wanted us to go to his house because there were a lot of "dishydrated" people there, haha. Then he wanted pocket money because his friend Tiffany (a year older than he is) has some, but it wouldn't be his till middle school - a LONG time to him! I was surprised when the kids mentioned opening Christmas presents, but their mom only lets them open a few at the holiday - spreading it out through the year is probably good practice!

You should totally join the Scrabble group!

Bingo from the time I got home tonight:

GATHERED (65 points) - against Christa D.

Eric and I met each other at what he calls my second-favorite intersection, and proceeded to discuss Pho / interviews / gas prices breaking 130.2 / Scrabble / opinions / friendship. I went to Pho, and ordered my usual plus a change for Eric - #36 with chicken it was! Jen, Dawn, and Karen joined me later - we discussed LAGUNA BEACH, THE O.C., wives, material goods, guys getting irritated when they eat, guys' appetite for food, Eni and Bogart's, Albanian things, birthday celebrations, speeches, interviews, Jen / Karen / Chung / Chuck / Teresa / Calla / Johnny / Andrea, Vivian, France, England, alkie jokes, the newly laminated Pho menus (takeout orders are now fifty cents extra), laptops for grandparents, ping-pong, and other things. It was pretty good talking to them!

Got to church and took attendance while dropping Eric's change near his stuff. Did birthday speeches, which went pretty well - Karen's speech about Andrea and crying made us laugh, but I could see Dylan rolling his eyes just a bit. She is the Blasting Simperer of earlier days, and I can understand... but she's a loyal friend! Talked to Raymond, Kevin, a new guy (Johan), Andrea's friend Sunshine (Teresa: "Oh, Andrea... you brought a white person!"), and Martin about the crust and the crazy amount of fruit on the cake from Sweet Obsessions, liking my blue hat with flowers on it, my being very good at Scrabulous (group invite!), Speed Racer, words, tiles, online dictionaries, misguided thinking, Benjamin Fellowship science experiments involving no explosions, and more.

The Bible Study was on friendship, and I found it helpful in knowing whom to avoid. Later, I talked to Stanley about his not eating for eight hours (reunion concerts!) / baked Ruffles chips before Andrea took me aside to thank me for organizing stuff. Hey, it's not a problem! Eric and I had a rare ride home with just the two of us: discussed listening to him, Ultimate, the ugfart, knowledge, and other stuff. Pretty good times!

Rats!

George and Serena have added me to Facebook - sweet! Jen also responded to my wall post - she'll do the speech for Andrea, which is good! (Karen let me know about that last night) Confirmed stuff with Eric, while thinking about things.

Apparently, rats have been getting into my neighbor's apartment - eight in two days?! He's been to see Hester about it, too - next step is going to Head Office! Traps at Rona are $7.99, he says. Yikes, the mouse problem is ridiculous! o_O

Are you sure the PLANE was late, Rachel? *dubious look*

Bingo of the day so far:

AUREOLED (68 points) - against Debbie M.

Rachel wants me to tell my parents that the plane was late this time instead of her. We'll see how well they believe THAT, haha! I finally canceled Axion, when I should have done it long ago - thanks, Justin! Checked Myspace, and saw that Candy had added me... I also have unread events dating back to November 2006. WTF?!

Asked around about peanut butter cookie recipes that don't require a blender... well, I got this response. "Well, actually, just take your typical peanut butter cookie recipe and use it, but let the soft ingredients (butter, peanut butter) sit out for about an hour. They'll be so soft that you'll be able to just use a spoon to mix them all together."

If you have no filters, JUST SHUT UP when the French people are around!

Last night's dinner with the Sos was pretty amusing! From wondering what took Jon so long to park the car by the gate to smiling over how we were Auntie Esther's "little friends" to laughing over a Sun Run time chip prank that Steph and her co-workers did on their big boss Max ("his hockey buddies were calling him up and wondering if he'd really TRAINED since his time was an hour and 53 minutes!") to shared bewilderment over Steph's co-worker Ken having no "filters".... it was GREAT! (Ken, to a woman whose Sun Run time was three minutes from his: "Oh, I guess we have different standards since mine ruled and yours didn't!" *facepalm* ) As for the CEO and CFO being here from Paris all week, the whole workplace was instructed NOT to make "French jokes / comments" like they normally do ("I'll blame it on the Frenchies!") - Steph said that they should tell Ken to just shut up ALL WEEK LONG! Speaking of FRIENDS, Lisa's boyfriend Dana doesn't get how he was introduced to some people as "Lisa's friend." We concluded that white people will never understand the "friend" thing - yes, they are dating so they're not FRIENDS technically! It's just being CHINESE!

We were also kinda worried for people who were seen puking near or at the Sun Run finish line because they overexerted themselves - my sister saw at least two pools of it! Lisa and Rachel's Incentive friend Gary got married to someone named Catherine over the weekend, so Steph was looking at pictures on Rachel's digicam. It was like an Incentive reunion for the younger set, hehe. (like Cleo and everyone else!) We discussed off-color remarks (Uncle Gabriel shouldn't have said something about "asses" with Shane and Stephen!), someone at the wedding who yelled that Popo (Grandma) was sleeping when the MC wanted to say something to her, and Steph's blunt Malaysian co-worker Stephen. This other girl named Amanda was called into the boss Max's office because she'd been on Facebook too much at work: "We know everyone surfs at the office, but your screen is visible to everyone, and you've been seen too much on certain sites!" So the next day, she'd put her tower flush to her monitor, thinking that would solve the problem... cue Stephen: "Hey, girl! [he calls everyone that] Don't you think it'll be too hard to work like that with the tower blocking the screen?!" The thing is that Jenny (the girl next to her) can still see Amanda's screen! So much for that "creative problem-solving," haha!

We discussed tapeworms, diarrhea (Mom: "Do you still HAVE it?!" complete with great facial expression!), reminiscing about the grad 2001 family dinner at Rossini's, police stuff (five days' notice for Steph when she leaves!), not being TOO GOOD or TOO BAD ("fly under the radar!"), Peru, tour bus bathrooms and excuses about circulation (they just don't want to empty it!), the rice shortage (Lisa was amazed!), and how Jon made Grandma drink one sip of red wine. Grannies gone wild, indeed! (we were also encouraging Mom to drink more wine even if she was warm and red already!) I remember the turbid water situation a couple years back, and Jon thought that people fighting over bottled water at Costco was awesome! While we were on the topic of vomiting, Steph brought up food poisoning stories: there was this time at a Korean BBQ place where the men insisted that the chicken was done, with various gastric consequences to Jon later! (you can rush beef or pork MAYBE, but not chicken!) Then I brought up the time we were at Lansdowne Mall after eating lunch at Knight & Day restaurant: my sister came up to me and mentioned that Jon had puked in an empty box at Coles! Can you imagine if the box had been full of books?! Yikes!

Jon wondered if wrestling would be suitable dinner entertainment, haha. At least we had organic bread and Peruvian organic coffee. Steph remarked on a blatant foul against LeBron James - you don't totally shove a player when he's going to the net! Mom said she saw Yao Ming, but he's in a suit - obviously he's a spectator since he's injured! Lisa, Rachel, and I concluded that Steph would still do her "baby voice" thing when she's 45 - her kids will be like "Why is she talking to Grandma like that?!" Rachel remembered how my dad used to think she was tam-leng (faking?) about being lactose-intolerant when she was in high school, so he made her drink a huge cup of milk every time she was over. That was NOT GOOD! (that reminded me of "excuses")

Then we discussed bo-lo bao (pineapple buns!), airport parking lots, how Grandma couldn't eat the cake since she'd taken her teeth out already, checking email, and other things. There was an ongoing joke about Rachel loving Perrier water (which really tastes gross), which went back to a Quebec school trip and a guy she liked. Then there was Auntie Esther mangling someone's last name beyond recognition, but she could always refer to "the lazy one" and people would know who she was talking about! Lisa wondered why our families didn't go camping together - my dad hates travel as it is, and my mom doesn't like the idea of it because of the bathroom situation! Talked about my parents' upcoming cruise - should be good times for Zion! (went home and talked to Karen about Dylan, Andrea, Jen, Rich, Teresa, Chung, Chuck, Grace, Chrystal, birthday speeches, emails, mistakes, "combination gifts" for December / January birthdays and Christmas, etc.)

Darn! I just made the stupidest Scrabble move ever! Yes, I could have put a Z (FROZE) on a triple-letter score, but put it somewhere else instead! CRAP, I BETTER WIN THAT GAME ANYHOW! Speaking of Scrabble, someone I know isn't into it anymore - that's all right, as I have plenty of other willing partners! ;) (Hey, I managed to install Flash on this guest account! Sweet! Wasn't able to do it last week, so yay for no more IE needed for Facebook Scrabble games!) Barb and I also played QUAD separately in back-to-back turns, which is pretty quirky! :D (got home to find K sleeping, and apparently having a nightmare about his mom - "what are you doing here?" indeed...)

You gotta narrow it down, and not be like "whenever"

Bingos of the day so far:

RECHANGE (94 points) - against Korey
ANVILED (72 points) - against Barb A.

Hey, Raymond messaged me back! He had dinner with co-workers on Friday, so he missed Fellowship. Then he went to the Sun Run yesterday, and had a missions meeting after that. Says now he can pig out on meat to get protein rebuilt into his aching muscles, haha - sounds like a plan to me!

Went to the Richmond Hospital Auxiliary thrift shop (the one I passed last time I was in Steveston) with my mom - got two pairs of shoes and ROOTS for $5. Mom told me about Dallas' dad passing away already; she referred to Ian and Sean's paternal grandfather passing away as "someone died last whenever - you know, this past week - the funeral's on Friday at 10 at the Richmond Funeral Home if you want to go with Dad and show support." We also discussed dinner menus for tonight and next week with Dallas: duck, Chinese-style fish, beef, New York steak, sockeye salmon, salad, shrimp, and more! Grandma just gave me some peanut brittle - whee!

Jon's sick, but not sick to his stomach!

On the way to church today, my mom said she'd go home early - I opted to go with her, so told Auntie Bessy that I couldn't make it to look after the toddlers. I said hi to Tim, Maxine, Joshua, and Keenan - the kids are so cute! While talking to Cindy, I noticed that my grandma had wandered into our service by accident - I had to tell her that this was the ENGLISH service instead of the CHINESE one! Commiserated with Teresa about papers and such for school, said hi to Phil, talked to Martin about finally getting his taxes done, and told Hannah / Priscilla / Natalie that they could have my salt and vinegar Pringles chips! (Hannah said she liked the flavor...) Waved hi to Josiah and Karmie, and bantered with Cordia and Quan about Timbits in the kitchen after Hien said hi to me while I was filling up my water bottle. Doesn't mean you can't take a raspberry Timbit if it's surrounded by other ones, haha. ;)

After discussing finances in the back parking lot, I asked Johnny if he could still do the birthday speech for Calla, and whether he'd remember since I don't have his email address. He said he could, and mentioned a dessert party at Calla's yesterday. I heard tell that Dylan's officially going out with a girl named Debbie, which should prove interesting. Asked Dylan who could do the birthday speech for Andrea - maybe Karen, but he'd do it if she can't! That sounds good (if a bit awkward should Dylan do it), especially since Chuck's not here right now in any event! I asked Jeremy what time he was off - as long as he gets to the airport one hour early, he should be okay. I also told him that I'd listened to the highly amusing conversation on Friday about tapeworms, pills, excrement, Africa, Google, and more... the obesity cure would work for some people, haha! Mentioned that Jon was sick, but NOT sick to his stomach!

Heard Vanessa ask where Jon was, so I headed over to her / Joey / Daniel / Danielle to tell them that Jon was sick: "But Jon NEVER gets sick!" "Jon's sick?!" (Joey) They knew Steph was at the Sun Run along with Alan / Dianne / whoever else, of course. Martin didn't want to go because everyone would be looking up his time in the paper the next day! Went home with Mom, who said stuff about Dallas, his dad, Toronto, and dessert next Wednesday (the 30th) / Rachel and Lisa tomorrow / Super Grocer / deep kisses (ew!) / cougars / Martin / Raymond / Safeway / Tim Hortons / email addresses / last names / attempted guilt trips / New York steak / sockeye salmon.

Let's sing fast songs and get all keyed up for the year's end!

Henry picked me up at 3:45 yesterday, and we talked for a very little bit about the snow. I've found that his tracklist of Christian songs is relaxing, and gets me in the proper frame of mind! The kids wanted to sing "I am a CHRISTIAN" extremely fast, oh my! Golden and Andrew L. didn't know where Jason and Amos were, although I saw Amos for two seconds in someone's car last Sunday! Said hi to Andrew x3, Mike, Zoe, Melia, Emily, and others... Auntie Vivian was eating her daughter Mary's Vietnamese dumplings since they were "weird." She might as well be a garbage bin, then! ;)

Called the lards later on: the ug is sick, and forgot to give Steph some things for me. Steph is doing the Sun Run, and did get the stuff since it was right in front of the ug at the time I talked to him! Good thing that plans will proceed as advertised, and talks are also good to work things out. (someone I know is getting sloppy....)
