Phil, Grace, and Micah will be missed...

When Eric picked me up this morning, he wondered if I'd spent time with Chinese Eric and Nathan yesterday. NO! IT WAS A FAMILY LUNCH! He complained about traffic while I found my lunch ticket, then he said that he should be at church by 9. That was currently not possible, as it was 8:55! I just hoped that Stanford isn't the type to yell at his minions, although I'm sure he can be quite intense at the restaurant! It was mainly a quiet ride over, but he did observe that I seemed to be in full DRAGON WARRIOR mode on Friday evening when he'd called - oh yes, and DRAGON QUEST V is next, which he's never played! He also wondered whether Steph and Lisa's wedding gift of pottery was all right, since my dad hadn't been driving too smoothly the night of the baby banquet. I guess I'll have to remember to ask them about it on Thursday!

Got to church, where I unloaded my extra Z-Grip pens on Priscilla and Joanna while waving to a VERY pregnant Alysia. I saw Jon, who said that Harmony and Ayler would come later... he was there to lead worship! Was going to sit in my usual spot, but I saw Darren C. and Jason - since I never see Jason more than once a year, I moved. He showed me lots of Calgary and Edmonton pictures on his phone, while asking me about Taiwan / my church / small groups and things like that. No, I don't have a phone - otherwise, I could keep in touch with him that way since he doesn't really use Facebook anymore! It's always good seeing him, though! (he said "God Bless" - that's totally fine!) Julie and Jeremy did indeed get baptized, so I gave them their cards later, for which they thanked me. Talked to Auntie Catherine, Sophia (her daughter Olivia is almost SEVEN already, and her mom told her about Grandma), Andrew L. (who's always tired - NOT NEWS!), and others before going upstairs.

At Toddler Sunday School, only David / Evelyn / Ashley / Anastasia were there! Lanie, Danny, and I had an easier time; James was clingy and crying too much, so he went with his mom. Priceless doctor advice from little Evelyn: "I'm going to check your head.... yes, there's something wrong. Your brain is playing tennis right now!" Talked about Lego, the panda and other animals on my BORN TO BE WILD shirt, elephants, fire engines, building a fort, climbing the door, cleaning up, and more. Went downstairs for lunch, where I was able to grab a seat in the crowded room. Stanford went all-out for the ten courses, and poor Christon was continually checking on things! The videos were good, but startled baby Ayler! Discussed Victoria, weddings, chow mein, drunken chicken, leftovers, curry noodles, tea, lemonade, sweet and sour pork, and much more with Alan / Tracy / Jon / Harmony / Edwin / Jane. When everything ended, I said hi to David M. while playing with Micah for about an hour. He's smart, and knows Jon Chan plays drums and Margaret plays guitar. I'm sure he liked his Uncle Angus scooping him up and playing with him!

Gave Grace a card and some stickers for Micah; it was just a little thing, but she thanked me anyway. I told Margaret that I was having issues with being a GOO-MAH and not a GOO-JEH, hahaha. Made plans with Deb and Dylan to go over on Wednesday to play with Declan, heh. Yes, he wanted my hat and glasses, but THAT WASN'T HAPPENING! I talked to Randal for a bit - YES, I WAS AT SERVICE TODAY! He says he believes me even if I wasn't in my usual spot, hahaha. When Eric finally got going, we said goodbye / see you soon to everyone, and got plenty of leftovers. He thought I was drunk, but that wasn't true at all. Then he wanted to drop me off at #4 / Alderbridge, but I didn't think that was a good idea. We discussed fight music, his latest FB display picture (not a WOW character, but himself with a shirt featuring Jon's head multiple times!), town music, how I should change mine since it's three months old (BOOTY LOGO!), and more. I'm sure he'll bug me on Friday!

Grandma appetite, pork cheek, Nathan, happy Ayler, and chips

Mom complained that I was late, but they never called before leaving... then again, I had to post placeholders and such! Ran out of time to do everything that I wanted to, as well. However, I wouldn't have traded the lunch with baby Ayler and Grandma for that! Mom was nicer on the phone with Steph, OF COURSE. I tried helping with Grandma at Dogwood, but ended up pushing the surprisingly heavy wheelchair out the door; Steph said that I'd left the brakes on! Whoops! Went to the Grand Honour Restaurant for lunch - Jon, Harmony, Ayler, and Nathan were late as well, so it was FINE! Had pork cheek, noodles, HA-GOW, SIU MAI, duck, green beans, spicy sauce, soup, and more for lunch; Grandma had a very good appetite and just went for the beans like they were all hers! Steph found out that Neil Armstrong died, and it was great to see Nathan while he was in town! Talked about the happy baby Ayler (who seemed interested in Nathan, and grabbed my finger), Brian and Amy's wedding, yucca root tea, Uncle Eric, FLAMINGO restaurant, Havarti (the baby is older than the dog by two days), Thursday's dinner, Uncle Michael and Aunt Leslie coming in two weeks on September 6, "nasty" emails, and more.

By the time I got home at 3 (after Island Farms ice cream from Langara), Mom had given me Doritos chips (Sweet Chili Heat / Nacho Cheese); Cheetos; jalapeno cheese slices; peanuts; candy; funeral home mints; blackberry jam; Safeway chocolate chip cookies. I was going to go out and get the cards for Julie C. and Jeremy Y., but figured I should finish up stuff first. Checked my email, where Randal had given me advice to BE A BITCH when asking for drugs to make the pain go away for Big G. Also checked my phone to discover that Eric had called; seems he has to be at church at 9 (?!) because he signed up to help Stanford for Phil's farewell lunch tomorrow. Aiya! Guess I'll have to live with it! Finally managed to get out the door so I could buy on-sale index cards, much-needed milk, and blank cards for Julie C. / Jeremy Y.'s baptism tomorrow. Since I'll be at church anyway, I might as well...

Dietrich Bonhoeffer, zucchini gratin, and FREEDOM

When Eric picked me up, I asked if he were cooking on Sunday at Jeremy's. Unfortunately, he plans to stay out all day. Dude, you're an introvert and should need time to recharge! Oh well... if I sleep in (he thinks "on purpose"), at least I know how to get there! I didn't mind listening to sports radio, haha. We talked about that new Native guy, who apparently has folk music online. Since I've had certain bad experiences with new people in the past (Mr. Creep? Paul?), I'm very leery of them in general. Also talked about the hot weather, Gordon Ramsey's KITCHEN NIGHTMARES, video games, screenshots, skills, and more.

When we got to Pastor Bob's, Randal / Raymond / Connie / Vicky / Christon / Kevin / Jeremy were there already. We had zucchini gratin, chorizo sausage stew, quinoa salad, and other things for dinner. The film on Dietrich Bonhoeffer was interesting enough without the religious angle: war, Hitler, and getting engaged only to be executed! Caught up with a few people (I told Kevin that I hadn't had a chance to ask Steph and Lisa how Finland was), and tried some gluten-free bread (NOT a fan); I heard that Terry is now married (as of last week) to someone named Tiffany. Oh well, he unfriended me on Facebook first, haha. Also heard about Johnny attending Tenth, who ALSO unfriended me on Facebook! Discussed Stanford cooking for Phil's farewell, too... a 12-course meal, served restaurant-style! (with drunken chicken?!) On the way home, Eric bugged me with Christmas music, said I was drunk on a bit of wine (no), and told me to enjoy my freedom - oh, I am!

Baby Olive, Hayden, Silas, Pho Thai Son

I was a bit late meeting Eric, but he said I'd sounded tired on the phone: NO, REALLY?! He joked that I was drunk, asked if I wanted to get tattoos (Steph and Lisa have that covered), wondered if I'd finished MOTHER 1 yet (then said that I was playing DRAGON WARRIOR III one too many times), tested me on PEACHES by POTUSA, said that yesterday's barbecue went pretty well with chicken drumsticks and thighs / raw veggies / watermelon, and said he'd gotten back on Thursday. GOOD THING I MANAGED TO FIX THE ROUTER MYSELF, THEN! I had brought some breakfast biscuits to eat in the car (but forgot water), and he thought they were cookies: close enough, I guess? When we got to church, I talked to Randal about his "nuts" message / waved back at Victor when he said hi / said hi to Jeremy and his parents / officially met Pastor Dan / said hi to Tim, Joshua (whose birthday is today), Keenan, and baby Emma. After service, I talked for a bit to Darren, who's back from Ireland for a month! Talked to Auntie Ying about getting together when Phil leaves, to Auntie Catherine about her father (Mom's attempted guilt trips don't work since I didn't even know he was dead till then! - Auntie Susan said the name wasn't recognizable in the bulletin), said hi to baby Rebecca and her mom Jane, and talked to baby Ayler. He smiled at me and grabbed my finger! ♥ [Harmony told people that the baby loves interacting with others, and babbles all the time!]

Before I went to Toddler Sunday School, I said hi to Benedict, Anita, Amos, and Harrison. Also saw Chung Ming with his wife Ellen: they have a nine-month-old baby girl named Olive! Also saw Dave and Tiffany, who are back in town for a short while - good to see them! Chrystal said hi, so we talked for a bit about Grandma and possible get-togethers; we didn't go see the fireworks since that scene is CRAZY! Said hi to Melia, who has seen puppy Havarti already! I saw Lanie, Quan, Silas, Danny, Anastasia, Hayden, James, Hymn, Natalie, and Ashley at Toddler Sunday School. Talked about toys, dragons in space, drawing, Lego, fake food, caramel popcorn, Chinese / Filipino festivals, and more. After Sunday School, I asked Kevin whether he'd seen Eric; nope! Talked to Andrew and Adam about being tired, my video games, seeing family, and more. Eric came up as I was doing that, and wondered if I'd seen Christon. He was helping to serve food in the fellowship hall for the senior lunch; a phone call later, we were meeting Jon at Pho Thai Son for our own lunch! Talked to Eric about that Native guy I'd seen before Sunday School; apparently, his name is Godwin. Haven't encountered that name in YEARS, man!

PHO THAI SON was interesting! We talked about yesterday's BBQ, Christon spilling iced coffee on us, girl children named Carson (?!), the "Food and Film" Evite (which Jon reminded me of), Jeremy's renovations, intensive French onion soup, weddings, the Olympics, Kent's Kitchen takeout, and more. On the way home, Eric said that we were going to Pastor Bob's on Friday for a Spiritual Care program and potluck dinner - oh, religion! We also learned that Our Lady Peace (4 AM) is adult alternative / classic rock... that's the stuff WE listen to, man! Managed to open my new whiteout, and then started some laundry. Mom wants me to visit Grandma on both Tuesday and Wednesday, too.

Eric called just now to see if I wanted to help marinate chicken and chop up veggies for tomorrow's Skeena Terrace BBQ. I have a feeling that I'll just be in the way: "Get Stanford or Kevin to do that!" I told him. He's right when he says that it sounds like I don't want to come. I'm not against helping out, but I'll figure that out tomorrow!

I looted the treasure chests in Isis Castle at night, and returned the next day. The guards of the left and right treasure rooms tell me the same thing: "All the treasure of the castle belongs to the queen." Too bad that I already stole the 64 GOLD, 72 GOLD, a WING OF WYVERN, and an INTELLIGENCE SEED!

Christon emailed us to say that Pastor Bob had double-booked himself for Friday, so we're back to our default location of the seniors lounge. In that case, I really don't have any motivation to go to the potluck / movie / sharing night as it won't be a true OUTING. The weekly tradition is far more important, anyway!


As the Prince of Midenhall Castle in DRAGON WARRIOR 2, you must go to Leftwyne to find your cousin the Prince of Cannock. (and later, the Princess of Moonbrooke) You come across this character who is easily scared!




I put in a code to get a Water Flying Cloth from the Midenhall Castle item shop for only 10 GP, and it glitched the graphics. The first item is supposed to be the said cloth, which sells for 53 GP. Yes, I took advantage of making money!

Abandonment, the crosswalk, pursuit of happiness, and Grandma being confused

When Eric picked me up this morning, he said I'd been hiding between two SUVs. Maybe! We talked about personal stuff, silence, a weird movie called BLACK SUNDAY about terrorists which his friends want to watch before the Super Bowl (okay...), Paul, articulating stuff to my brother, his leaving right after service (fine by me!), my weird thoughts, my being "drunk" (as if I'd ever show up to church in that condition!), abandonment, the crosswalk, and more. On the way out of the car to church, he warned me that the sidewalk was slightly icy - yes, I'd noticed that, but was okay. Got into the sanctuary (after telling Jessie that I couldn't help out today) to have some time to myself before Nathan W. came in - Phil and I both said hi to him, as usual. Of course I made sure to say hey to Jeremy when HE came in, since we're friends and all. Then I bugged little Harrison for a minute or so!

I noticed Jon and Harmony coming in pretty late even for them, and had to bug my brother about it. Jeremy and I shared amusement at some points during the sermon, especially when Phil said that we could leave the Ecclesiastes pursuit of sexual happiness to our imaginations! NOT A GOOD IDEA! Afterwards, I made sure to ask Harmony how she was feeling; she said it was good to see me, haha. I also welcomed Christon back from up north: he told me and Geoffrey that he couldn't wait to escape the prison, and REALLY hopes he's back here for good! From what he told us, I don't think it was a good environment for him.

Stanford gave me a card, which I assumed was a wedding thank-you... I was right! Said hi to Denise, Grace, Micah, and Randal (who said my Adidas bag was big and a nice color - he KNOWS that I carry around a bunch of stuff!) before assuming that Eric would be going to next week's welcome lunch for Pastor Bob. (his son-in-law is speaking on art and culture, too) Grandma saw me and waved from the bench, so of course I went over to say hi. She asked why I didn't go eat with them, and then told me that ever since the church moved, she had no idea where to go. She's always seemed okay until a while ago! After that, she pointed out Jon in the crowd, so I hailed him to come over for a bit. She asked where his wife was - oh, she was somewhere nearby! Then she figured Steph was at work - yes, probably! Since Grandma really DID seem confused, I had to lead her to the sanctuary - I knew Auntie Paula was inside, but Grandma couldn't go in through the exit door! After that, I finally went into the sanctuary and bought a lunch ticket from Uncle Stephen.

When I asked Eric if he were ready to go, he bugged me that my bag was big enough to hold a bunch of drugs. I broke my customary silence with Raymond (who was nearby), and was mock chagrined enough to ask HIM whether I looked like a drug dealer! "No, no... it was a joke... haha." I know, but still. On our way out, I saw baby Emma chewing on her thumb, so I asked her if it tasted good! Mary and I said hi to each other while going in opposite directions at the crosswalk, too. In the car, we discussed Jasmine / Teunis / people ending friendships / the French word for "pumpkin" / whether I felt like killing anyone (not at that moment!) / Bible Study / Valentine's Day / my NOT stalking Chinese Eric / silence / how I should try CHRONO TRIGGER again (it's not my type of game, surprisingly!) / Christmas songs ("it's still winter!" doesn't fly with ME!) / frost on the windshield / meeting people for dinner / MOTHER 3 on hard mode / the Kefka theme from FINAL FANTASY / small doses ONLY of Christian music / making him deaf / hair / roots. Was home by about noon, which is very good - I think I'll need it, before next week!

Sugar cubes make mouths tingly?!

When Eric picked me up for church this morning, he commented that I was unusually chipper for the morning, so I said that I'd banned someone already. We discussed that, journals, Ivan, my "long" receipts as proof that I spent thirty thousand dollars, rides, turn signals, cruising, germs, the West Final CFL game next week, karma, voting, Alistair getting tickets, Christon's emails about dinner, Christmas plans, Geoffrey's address, Bible Study, my blue toque, Paul shitting on my hospitality, and my standing up to people. Also talked about the Grey Cup game being in BC, Pastor Tom's last Sunday, glaring at people, his doing SOUND at Illuminate on Friday (a praise and worship service?!), snacks, Daniel Fellowship, my being "drunk," Christmas tunes, DARKWING DUCK / Dave Wong, exes, grudges, the emulator crashing (I swear I'll have to use Vizzed to play MOTHER 3), and more. When I got into church, I told Randal that he looked warm with his scarf, so he said that my toque looked just as warm. Um, yeah? That's kinda what it was designed for... why I even talked to him, I have NO idea.

I talked to Nina and Gerard about Awana, yesterday's shopping, Christmas plans, our weeks, brandy beans, Timothy Fellowship, and more. While that was going on, I saw Paul talking to Mr. Creep - YIKES! Then I was a sneaky ninja and gave the bag of Maynard's Swedish Berries to David Ho - HE could give it to Hien for me, haha! (she thanked me later, even though she'd told me to KEEP THEM!) I said hi to Nathan W. before settling down in a pew, which I actually got all to myself today. After service, I talked to Jeremy about work, Eric's mustache, and a possible Jon birthday dinner - he had to check his calendar, heh. Saw Jordan and Thomas eating sugar cubes because of the tingle - of course it's going to be sweet, kids! Discussed stuff with Andrew before going upstairs: SNES games, emulators (which I've now linked him to), TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, and more. Said hi to Stella and baby Ava, Tim, Jon C. (who's getting baptized next week), Mike K., Sonya, Stanford, Calla, Frances, Micah, Isaac, and others. Margaret tapped Amasiah on the shoulder, and she thought it was me - nope!

Saw Jessie, Rachel's grandma, Anastasia and her dad Danny, Mattias, James, Ramen, Shira, Ashley, Alexis, and a new ten-month-old baby at Toddler Sunday School. James climbed into my lap and wanted me to read a DORA THE EXPLORER book to him... okay, I was up for that briefly! I talked to Mattias about tow trucks, to Shira about coloring, to Ashley about toys, to Alexis about silver balloons, and to the new baby (referring to her as "baby") about toy eggs and such. She seemed to have fun, and cried when her grandma put her in the stroller. I guess I am good with kids to a certain extent!

Went downstairs to wait for Eric (who was listening to Stanley's guitar playing), and talked to Grandma briefly before Auntie Anna came to pick her up. I just let her think that Jon had left already, haha. Vivian hadn't seen Eric when I asked her - DAMN! (also talked to Auntie Catherine briefly) When we finally got going, we talked about forgiveness / toxic people / tact / microwaving instant noodles on Friday at church (I WILL STAY HOME!) / spending time with people / Mr. Creep / naming people. Got home and called Steph briefly, then talked to Jon a little longer about stuff. Now I can game in peace!

Bleeding / Caller ID defenses! / Done BREATH OF FIRE II

For some reason, I was bleeding today when I took the toaster oven out - WTF? At least I checked my mail, and Janina had mailed a lovely birthday card! Calla sent me a Gmail chat message asking if Stanford were teasing me with riddles; er, no? Apparently, the message was meant for someone else; good deal, haha. Then Paul kept trying to call me, but my Caller ID defenses were UP! Later, Deb tried to call me as I was in the middle of a boss battle with Barubary from BREATH OF FIRE II, so I said I'd call her at 8 while clarifying last night. Hmph! At least that gave me time to FINALLY finish the game! :D

Deb and Dylan dropped by at 8:20 to pick up the jerk's stuff, and tried to change my mind about the potluck at their place tomorrow. I wasn't impressed with Randal's "incentive" of dancing naked, although Alan's reply of how he liked nudity and would like that show DOES sound like what he'd say! After they left, I settled into my usual routine of ignoring all phone calls. :D

Silly Eric called me at 9:25 to see whether I was going to church today, hahaha - it was a nice day, and YAY CHILDREN! We discussed my "need" for a ride to Richmond later (Dylan? Deb? Jeremy Y.? Ivan?) - WHY THE HELL IS KOREY BACK IN TOWN EVEN IF HE'S MOVING FOUR HOURS NORTH OF POWELL RIVER?! (Diven later said he didn't want to disturb me, but I insisted upon knowing the truth as to why he recommended I stay inside for two days...) Also talked about my "return from being a hermit," marijuana, his not being on crack, going the long way, what I'd done yesterday, Christon's email about the fireworks and my feeling too old for them (what if Mr. Creep comes?! NOOOOOOO!), Spanish, and whether I was "drunk and crazy." Conversed about my grandma's opinion on snow, how late we were, it being better that I didn't know Korey's new location because of my mutterings about firebombs directed at slow traffic / murder, crazy shit going down, and more.

When we got into service (narrowly dodging Mr. Creep), Pastor Tom was telling us something about psychological disorders and narcissism. I wrote to Eric on my bulletin that I knew someone who suffered from that, and it sure wasn't Mr. Creep! (Eric had written on his bulletin to ask whether we were too close to Mr. Creep, heh) While I was writing my tag prompts on my bulletin, Eric wondered whether those were the ramblings of a crazy person! Then I learned that there would be no Adult Sunday School in August - wonder what we'll do then, haha. Eric told me that there was some good news even if I felt like I should have stayed home today, too: Korey's Greyhound bus was late, so he'd be staying for Sunday School! Then he wondered whether I was okay as I started laughing when Pastor Tom told us about killing and salt, hahaha - OF COURSE I AM!

After service, I said hi to Harmony... we both said hi to Grandma, who wanted to eat lunch with us. Too bad Jon and Harmony are tired from last night! I looked for Dylan and Deb, but they were nowhere to be found. Eric pointed out Natalie, but her brother Ivan had a full car, and Jeremy Y. had a meeting later - I went upstairs to see whether I could find Ian and Sean, saying hi to Benjamin and Stella on the way. I found them, so I waved hi to Sean (the autistic one didn't seem like he wanted to talk), while Ian said that they'd go home to Richmond after lunch. Since his parents John and Ada were downstairs, I returned to see them almost right away. They also had a full car because they didn't take the van to church today - crap!

Went into the fellowship hall to dodge Mr. Creep, nod hi to Gino, say hi to Dianne / Reigan / Jinny / Darren C., tell Eric of my findings, talk to Amanda about the fireworks, give the chocolate Easter eggs to Emily and Nina (who's thanked me via FB wall post already), and say hi to Mattias enjoying some watermelon! Calla and Stanford jokingly tried to steal his baby brother Marcus (who cried when we touched him) - even the grandmother (Auntie Catherine) gave tacit approval by moving out of Stanford's way! Apparently, Karen I. had a mother's instinct since she turned around when Stanford was a few feet from the door! Chung Yan was even FACING him, but he didn't do anything while Stanford moved toward the entrance! We wondered whether Marcus looked more like Chung or Karen, but figured that it would be better if he looked like Mommy, hahaha. Harmony, Jeremy, and I discussed Mark's whereabouts ("he's in Abbotsford seeing some girl") / texting / coffee to get rid of faded dye (as per Jeremy's grandparents) / blue dye fading to purple / the rainy weather (at least it DID clear up later!) / my demonstration of the NG LUNGPOWER by yelling "WHAT?!" when Jon asked what my reaction to his reasons why I wasn't at church was / tell Harmony about the fighting and "life and death."

When I went upstairs to the Toddler Sunday School, I saw Mattias (who cried when I took a Minnie Mouse phone away from him, but showed me lots of toy food with a smile) / Anastasia / Ada (who complained that hand sanitizer hurt) / David (who showed me his Batman toys) / Evelyn / Ramen (who showed me a drawing of Mickey Mouse) / Shira / Arthur / two new kids named Emma and Denise. Poured them water, looked after them with Auntie Bessy when Jessie had to leave early, looked out the window when Mattias noticed (Handydart) buses and trucks, admired their puzzle skills, and gave some stickers out. I saw Sean and Conor, who said that Anastasia was their cousin - I didn't know that! Got downstairs to find Eric waiting for me - on our way out, I told Nathan W. that I'd heard he'd had seaweed yesterday, and he did say he liked it! Eric and I discussed my being "drunk," my REALLY going to the closed liquor store / bars when Sunday School was in session, my staying inside ANYWAY for the next two days, Carmen, Geoffrey, Vivian, confronting Randal, decency, walkthroughs, FINAL FANTASY 7, "torture," feeling the need to do something, and other things. It's nice to have uninterrupted blogging time back once again. :D
