Little Hannah LOVES to eat!

Phil and Grace's wedding banquet was cool. Too bad my table couldn't really see what was going on, or hear most of the speeches because people were noisy. Lesley, Dylan, Tim, Maxine, Jessica, Rich, Lee, Lily, Erin, and I discussed church by-laws and marriage / the new church building / Mark / babies / Mexico / baby Hannah having five boyfriends already (Benjamin / Nathaniel / Joshua / two others)... good times. It was amusing when Rich tried to delegate certain duties to Lesley since she'd be gone for two Sundays: Walkathon, announcements, etc. Talked to Eric about stuff which has since gotten resolved. Also talked to Joe, Dave, Amy, Brian, Eunice, Eddie, Daniel, Michelle, Vernon, Alan, Edwin, and a bunch of other people: Jonathan just played a gaming system throughout the banquet, haha. Good times, indeed. Got advice from Andrea as well, and seeing Chuck was great. Now I have to respond to an email from my visitor, and should resume laundry! Haha, I even left before my parents!

Phil and Grace's wedding!

Phil and Grace's wedding was quite good. Sat with Randal, said hi to Kevin, greeted Eric and Jeremy, and basically took in the ceremony while being distracted by some wandering thoughts. Hey, at least I got a few digicam pictures in with Randal and others! Saw Eunice and her parents, and wondered about their move - it went well, as did Uncle Richard's operation for cataracts. Didn't get a chance to speak to the newly married couple, but maybe tonight at the banquet! Managed to amuse Seren by chasing her around her dad Michael, while talking to her big brother Ethan and little sister Megan. Waved hi to Kenny, whose wife Winnie thanked me for the cards I gave their daughter Megan. (different Megan) My brother's Regent friend Matt said hi, and I found out later that he was one of the groomsmen. Saw Norman, Connie, Vernon, Sarah, Serena, family friends, Ivan, Chris, Natalie, little Nathan, and lots of others. Quan said hi to me, and I talked to Margaret and Hien about Jon's weird food combinations: the girls were NOT impressed, especially after I told them the haggis story! They also know that Steph used to eat orange peels (not the dried kind - the real ones) as a little kid. Sophia is about eight months pregnant with her second child - wow! I realize the kids come first now since they need to sleep after church service, so no worries about not seeing the extended Marr clan around! Definitely good times, haha.

I know this isn't the typical blog entry about a wedding, but I'm pressed for time here. I'd put in something about how the happy couple looked, but I didn't have a good view of things. Oh well.

BIG YAY!

So excited for Phil and Grace's wedding today, even though I didn't get as much sleep as I'd hoped! :D

Sonic Ocean Water

Sonic Ocean Water

Any Sonic Drive-In regular knows the three or four unique fountain drink favorites on the menu. There's the Limeade, the Diet Limeade, and, of course, the Cherry Limeade. But that bright blue stuff called Ocean Water has become a recent favorite for anyone who digs the taste of coconut - it's like a pina colada baking soda. The server simply squirts a bit of blue coconut syrup into some cold Sprite. The big secret to duplicating this one at home is re-creating that syrup, so that's the first step. After that's done, you make the drink as they do at the restaurant in less time than it takes to say, "Does my blue tongue clash with what I'm wearing?"

3 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon imitation coconut extract
2 drops blue food coloring
2 12-ounce cans cold Sprite
ice

1. Combine the water and the sugar in a small bowl. Microwave for 30-45 seconds, then stir to dissolve all of the sugar. Allow this syrup to cool.
2. Add coconut extract and food coloring to the cooled syrup. Stir well.
3. Combine the syrup with two 12-ounce cans of cold Sprite. Divide and pour over ice. Add straws and serve. Makes two 12-ounce servings.

Sonic Cherry Limeade

Sonic Cherry Limeade

Here's the signature drink from the chain that's reviving the drive-up burger joint, just like a scene out of American Graffiti or Happy Days. It was in 1953 that Troy Smith obtained the parcel of land in Shawnee, Oklahoma that was big enough to fit the new steakhouse and root beer stand that was his dream. Troy thought he'd make the steakhouse his primary operation, but as it turned out, folks preferred the hot dogs and cold drinks over at the root beer stand. So Troy did the smart thing and ditched the steakhouse to focus all his efforts on the other joint. At first, he called the root beer stand "Top Hat." But when Troy found out later that name was already being used, he came up with "Sonic" to signify "service at the speed of sound." Today, the chain is the sixth-largest hamburger outlet in the country. This recipe makes a simple, old-fashioned drink by combining Sprite with cherry juice and some lime wedges. Use cherry juice made by Libby under the brand-name Juicy Juice for the best home clone.

12 ounces Sprite (1 can)
3 lime wedges (1/8 of a lime each)
1/4 cup cherry juice (Libby's Juicy Juice is best)

1. Fill a 16-ounce glass 2/3 full with ice.
2. Pour Sprite over the ice.
3. Add the juice of three lime wedges and drop them into the drink.
4. Add the cherry juice and serve with a straw. Makes 1 16-ounce drink (medium size).

You Are a Bit Prissy

From time to time, you can be a princess... but these days, who isn't a little high-maintenance?
You know what you want, and you're definitely not afraid to ask for it.
(Just refrain from having a temper tantrum if you don't get your way!)
There's nothing wrong with having high standards... as long as they're occasionally low enough to allow spontaneity and fun!

Your Heart is Feeling Sour

Love isn't something you've forgotten, it's something you actively despise.
You've obviously been hurt, and you're not moving on from those bad feelings any time soon.
Love has left a scar on your heart. And you're in no mood to revisit romance.

Deep down, your heart is susceptible to: Jealousy and sickness

Your current outlook on love: Is cynical and downright angry

Your love life will improve if you: Remember the good times - love isn't as devastating as you think.

Watch out for: Scaring people away with bitterness. Even your best friends can only take so much.

Sushi and bubble tea make me very full... no KFC or Boston Pizza for me!

Number One Songs in History for my birthday: Color Me Badd's I Adore Mi Amor! Yes! I used to love that song, haha. :D

Discovered that there was a new bubble tea place near the bank in Richmond Centre today. Its name is Big Orange, and they also sell ice cream. They don't have stamp cards, but whatever. Jon would probably be disappointed to see that they don't have durian, but I'm sure everyone else is happy with that! ;)

In the "Buy It When You See It" department: I should have bought those bacon-ranch Pringles when I saw them in Shoppers last week. I was there today, and they didn't have any! Oh well, I had a filling dinner of sushi and pudding bubble tea instead. Made a shopping appointment for Friday noon, as well... no KFC or Boston Pizza for me, dude!

According to certain people, my forum postings make me a strange individual. Uh, yeah, I don't THINK so! :P

Toilets don't have nipples! / Sonic Cherry Limeade

Had a weird dream about some church meeting - Daniel went outside to try convincing us stragglers to come inside, but we were too busy talking. He told me and a few others to come with him to his apartments near the church, so we could see his magical toilet. We were dubious, but we went with him - he did some stuff with the toilet lid and such, and presto! Two nipples appeared on the toilet, and Daniel instructed us to press them. Jeremy, Amos, others, and I took it in turn to do so - there was a wave of revitalizing water, and supreme music! Michelle came out of the living room (which was strewn with toys), and wondered what was going on. She ordered her husband to clean up the mess while she walked with us back to the church. We nearly got hit by a truck when we crossed the road because of sudden icy conditions and stupid drivers. Once we got back to the church, Jon told us that someone was going to give birth in the meeting - we looked inside and saw a section of pews cleared of people. Later, we learned that it was a man's wife in the hospital giving birth, but her husband had to attend this meeting. Interesting dream, but I'm not sure what triggered THAT one!

Scammers! / Shoney's Tomato Florentine Soup

Chris Benoit apparently did a double-murder / suicide over the past few days. WHY?! Talked about it with Corey for a while last night, too. Should have told my sister, but forgot. Oh well, she'll find out soon enough... she once met him at the airport!

I received another scammer phone call from Colorado. The number is 303-280-8689, which isn't even close to Corey's number in case you're like someone I know and thinking that HE called. He did try to prank call me once, but I didn't answer the phone even if it was 3 AM my time and I was still up. Ha ha ha.

Went to pick up my sister at the airport last night. She had a good trip even though it was HOT and HUMID, and mentioned that Melissa's mom had gifts for just the females of the family, haha. Jon was at Dragon Ball with Sam, and didn't think her flight would come in early OR that her luggage would be the first off the plane! Interesting thinking there, haha...

I want dynamite rolls for some unexplained reason. Maybe tomorrow!

I do not have secret crushes!

Despite what certain people think, these guys are NOT my crushes - secret or otherwise! AIYA!

I am not ordering the Pad Thai from Boston Pizza again. BLEH.. so much gas! (caused my visitor to throw up, too - NOT FUN FOR LAUNDRY AT 6 AM!)

Korey says that he woke up at 3:30 AM to play Nintendo and do stuff on the computer, such as watch that HONEY movie. I saw evidence of this on the TV, haha. Then he woke up again at 11 to say that I should have woken him up at 9. Too bad, since I was still sleeping then. He figures that my hands should fall off because I supposedly type like a madwoman. I don't know about that! Gave him a crazy amount of mango-peach sherbet / frozen yogurt, which I had to finish off for him using the same spoon, along with some strawberry Mini-Wheats which made the milk all pink. It's on to the pomegranate-raspberry sherbet later, haha. Hey, at least I finished off the Pad Thai and felt the effects of THAT: Never order that from Boston Pizza! I offered to go to Kamloops with the guys after service on Sunday ("poor princess girl, you never travel"), but we'll see if that doesn't make people all suspicious! (now he wants me to stay with him for a week till he starts work... probably not, but we'll see!)

Dylan just sent us an email about going to Rossini's on Wednesday, so I declined for myself. He referred to Peter as Stella's nephew: GROSS! He's her COUSIN! Ah, typical oblivious Dylan... *sigh* Now we're play-fighting about Randal, farting, Corey being my secret crush, Jeremy, Diven / Clarice saying I'm a witch or maniac or serial killer (those were JOKES), MSN, five more nights, Midol, Steph coming home, going to bed early, and whether we truly want to go out and spend money. Good times with plenty of askance glances his way, haha. There's another argument for not going out if he still feels unwell. We've taken to referring to Corey by his last name since Korey insists on referring to himself in the third person, which confused me at least once or twice before! (now they're telling me to tell the other that they're the true Corey / Korey... aiya!) Wondered about whistles in World 6 of SUPER MARIO 3, but Corey says he can't tell us off the top of his head. You can warp to World 8 after the first few levels, so he hasn't worried about later whistles for many many years. He might know if he was playing it, but not off the top of his head.

Trevor Cox / Harvey Fehr photo / Seven Seas Free Viva Italian Fat-Free Dressing

Forgot to mention that I saw my old friend Trevor Cox yesterday while I was out shopping - of course I remembered who he was! Pity we couldn't talk long since my taxi had arrived and was looking for me, heh. I remember meeting him in the PJs program at the Presbyterian Church, and we knew each other through that for a few years. Imagine my surprise when he was at my high school - we were even in the same Socials 11 class! Ah, good times... holding hands in a prayer circle, graduation with Leni in Gr. 12, fun with kids at church, etc. So good to see him, haha.

Last night, my dad emailed me a picture that Samantha and Rosanna's dad took of me with the BC Awana missionary Harvey Fehr after I got my seven-year pin. Don't know why Dad spelled my name wrong on the email, though... he should know how it's spelled, UGH! Heard that Steph gets back tonight at 11, but I won't be there to see her since I really don't feel like staying overnight even in Grandma's room! Besides, I have stuff to take care of over here and a question to ask Eric about helping him with something. ;)

A picture of me with Harvey Fehr:

Seven Seas Free Viva Italian Fat-Free Dressing

Seven Seas dressings were first introduced by Anderson Clayton Foods back in 1964, when the trend toward fat-free foods was in its infancy. Kraft Foods later picked up the brand, and Seven Seas today ranks number four in sales of salad dressings in the United States. Here's our special technique to creating a delicious clone of Seven Seas spice-filled fat-free Italian dressing straight out of the latest TSR low-fat cookbook, using a secret combination of water, cornstarch and gelatin where the fat used to be.

1 1/3 cups water
1 1/2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried minced onion
1/2 teaspoon dried minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon finely minced red bell pepper
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon gelatin
1/2 cup white vinegar
1 teaspoon dry nonfat buttermilk

1. Combine water, sugar, cornstarch, salt, onion, garlic, bell pepper, Italian seasoning, and gelatin in a small saucepan. Whisk to dissolve cornstarch, then set pan over medium / low heat.
2. Heat mixture until boiling, stirring often. When mixture begins to boil, cook for 1 additional minute, stirring constantly, then remove from heat.
3. Add vinegar and dry buttermilk to saucepan and stir. Transfer dressing to a covered container and refrigerate - preferably overnight - before serving. Makes 1 1/2 cups.

Alarm clocks stop dreams, even in very strange weather!

Went to church with my family... Jon says that Holly is engaged - sounds good! Mom says that really Chinese people hold engagement parties the night of the engagement, which is kinda crazy - what if the woman says no? Talked about weddings and such as well. Saw Dallas sitting behind me when I was a few feet away from Randal, so I invited him to sit with me - he and Jeremy said they'd sit behind me, so I moved to be with them. Talked to Natalie and Nathan, who wanted candy - caramel lollipops for you two, then! (they thanked me!) Nathan said that since Hannah and Priscilla were gone to Yellowstone Park, he could sit next to his sister. I asked Natalie how she felt about that: "Oh, no!" Haha, good times. :P

Dallas went off somewhere in the middle of service, so Jeremy and I shared laughs over jokes and wondered what Christon was doing with his glasses and screws. He laughed when I picked some fuzz off Christon's shirt.. hey, it had to be done! Later, I asked how his jazz gig was: it was cool, and they wanted to do an encore, but the song would just end sloppily. Heh, not good! Went downstairs to say hi to some of the kids, and gave Karen Chan her birthday card. After that, I went outside and saw a bunch of people. Danielle wondered why we'd gone out the front door, so Citrus told her that she hadn't been listening when it was announced that we wouldn't use the ramp because of the intense rain. Jeremy looked around and said: "Rain? What rain?" Indeed, it was sunny if a bit chilly. I admired his "alarm clocks stop dreams" button, and he said that it was true - Kevin, Eric, and I all agreed at various points! (Eric said he'd gotten up at 9 after pressing SNOOZE once - "Ack! I'm supposed to leave now!") Asked Jon where Andrea was - went to the back parking lot to give her a birthday card for her brother Sherman, say hi to Mike and other assorted people, talk to Daniel about a crazy SUPER SMASH BROTHERS tournament, and ask Eric about Pho and rides home. Saw Karen and Jen at the front, who were going for 7-11 caffeine - I'd talk to them later! (also waved hi to Adam and Andrew) Jeremy asked if I wanted Pho myself even if Eric didn't - nah, I told him that I had to go home and sleep since I got up at 6 to take care of some stuff!

The toddlers were pretty okay this morning, so that was good. After Sunday School, I talked to Amos: Math and Socials in summer school? Oh my. Anita apologized to me about her slip-up yesterday since she had her thumb on my name in the printed program - hey, no problem since we can blame it on "pregnant brain" now, haha. Talked to Julie and other kids who said that Louisa gave them a bunch of candy - wow, girl! I went outside and got stuff from my mom's car with my brother's keys, and left with Eric and Christon a while later. Before we dropped him off, Christon told us that he had to take seven courses at a time for the next two semesters if he wanted to graduate earlier rather than later. (insane!) Then Eric and I talked about the Oak Blockbuster, the slow traffic being my fault, and some other stuff before he dropped me off at home. As luck would have it, I had to do some stuff outside - being caught in a hailstorm while inappropriately dressed for the weather is NOT good, kiddies. :P At least this week's cabdriver was nice since he took my stuff in for me - last week's cabdriver told me in a snarky tone that I could HELP get my groceries in the trunk, and then dropped my bags off in the middle of the parking lot... how rude!
