Staff of Force, Brey, Icebolt, PRESIDENT'S TROPHY ONCE MORE!

Last day of the regular NHL season... can't believe it's all come down to this! Holly thought the hockey game was an away match in Edmonton, HAHAHAHAHA! The Canucks ended up winning 3-0 for 111 points... PRESIDENT'S TROPHY FOR THE SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR! LOVE THE CANUCKS! We're going to play the Los Angeles Kings in the first round of the playoffs!

David S. buzzed me on YM, and reminded me of an entry I wrote years ago about why he is so awesome; hey, it's all still true! I have figured out why my wizard Brey is losing 3MP per attack. It's the Staff of Force which does this, but the weaponry is way better than a Cypress Stick for now... and I also should remember to cast Icebolt / Snowstorm or other spells on Blazeghosts, Rogue Whispers, and Imposters instead of attacking them. DRAGON WARRIOR 4 will glitch out otherwise!

Ragnar Flying Shoes ceiling bumps / Shaun, Golden, gum dropping down shirt

Discovered that Shaun and Golden have both apparently deleted their FB accounts, but my Friend Tracker number remains the same... weird! I also participated in a FFAF which reached the 10,000-comment limit on LJ, and had a piece of gum drop down my shirt. Now THAT is a first! Called Jon to say that I couldn't make it to that dinner tomorrow, never mind Sunrise Service and regular service OR that baptism! Hell no, I won't go! Hahaha! Guess I'll see him on Monday for dinner! Also got around to blocking a few people on Facebook who aren't my friends anymore, namely Leo (who's friends with Eddie and Adela - WTF?) / Vicky / Damien.

Damage zones / Can't complete DW3

I can't complete DRAGON WARRIOR 3 because the game consistently glitches out and resets whenever I have to step into swamps! Ugh! Complained to Corey via MSN about this and other emulators; Nestopia won't do it for me, unfortunately. Discussed forced level grinding, DRAGON WARRIOR 1, needing to be really careful outside the first castle or else you'll get an ass-kicking from strong monsters, and more. Talked to David S. on YM about Paul and trouble, too.

Damage zones in Burland Castle (poor Ragnar!) from DRAGON WARRIOR IV:

Good Friday: FFAF / Subway "vaginal salad"

Couldn't sleep even at 4 AM, so I took the new melatonin, which actually has peppermint flavor - NICE! Jon B. and Marko K. (both from the Puckheads group) added me on Facebook because they wanted to see my Video Game Screenshots album; nice, nice! My definition of a Good Friday is staying home with the weekly tradition! No silent services for me, even if Eric did get on MSN to bug me about it! *grin* Then again, Eric informed me (after saying he's going to Sunrise Service - I won't!) that Paul is getting baptized on Easter Sunday - WHAT THE HELL. HE IS OFFENSIVE. Yes, I know everyone has "a past," but really. Eric thinks I can't let go of things - I can, but I'll remind everyone else around me about it. More like "I take joy in the misery of others whom I hate!"

People need to stop talking at the speed of light in commercials. I honestly thought Subway was offering something called "vaginal salad." o_O

Pyramids Outside World Samanao Cave Glitch / Turning grey and resetting

So... I finished getting the Mirror of Ra from the cave near Samanao, and discovered that the outside world apparently consists of pyramids! (y'know, other than what I'd expect to see: grass, forests, trees, rocks, mountains, water...) NICE GLITCH! :D

Later, the game REALLY glitched out (turning grey and making weird noises) and reset on me! I'd inadvertently stepped on Damage Zones without the protective spell StepGuard at the Shrine of Liamland, after offering up my red / purple / yellow / green / silver / blue orbs to make the Great Bird Ramia come back to life. Luckily, I'd JUST saved with the king of Romaly after completing the Cave of the Necrogond, dropping various items off at the Aliahan vault, and getting some equipment at Lancel / Assaram / Samanao!

EIGHT METAL SLIMES! / Eginbear Castle Vase of Drought guide / 3-2 loss

R.I.P, Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley. :(

The Canucks lost 3-2 to the Flames tonight... sigh. Noticed that Damien had unfriended me from Facebook, too. FINE THEN.

Basement boulder puzzle guide (for the Vase of Drought) in DW3 Eginbear Castle.

Now I have screenshot proof of eight Metal Slimes; these were in the Cave of Jipang, and gave me 11,040 experience points for each character. :D

EUPHONY, LEVEL 99 CATAPULT, Power Glove, Romaly's King

Listened to the Fox's INDIE NIGHT IN CANADA show last night; they have a feature called "When They Were Indie," and it just happened to feature MATTHEW GOOD off EUPHONY! YAY! Got an offline MSN message from Corey (sent at 5:25 AM) about the Angry Video Game Nerd and his Power Glove Review, and how it was better than the NES Accessories Review - I'm on it! Went to the library to return my library books, then went to Purdy's in the mall so I could get three-packs of Hedgehogs and peanut butter eggs. Marshmallow eggs were also on special, but I didn't need those. At the bus stop, I could clearly hear some guy's iPod from a foot away: it was playing Metallica's ONE.

Discovered the start of redrum, as well as some sound / graphics glitches in my DRAGON WARRIOR 3 game; those also somehow catapulted my Hero to Level 99! I also defeated SEVEN Metal Slimes thanks to the "BE DRAGON" code! Wish I had a screenshot of that... but I do have one of my being Romaly's King after I defeated the thief Kandar in the Tower of Shanpane!

This is what else happens in your brief rule over Romaly:

"A new king is crowned! All hail King Flamster!"

"Your Majesty would deign to address me?!"

Let's talk to the queen! "You were wonderful! Won't you come live with your princess forever?"

Let's check the king's status: "It is said that long ago, the king was very powerful."

Let's make the king search for stuff!

The king cannot use spells.

The king bears no items.

The king is already wearing the royal robes, and that's all the equipment he needs!

As we go out of the throne room, a guard tells us that the king lights the lives of all his subjects.

The woman near the healer beseeches us to rescue the village of Noaniels in the far north.

"You say the curse has already been lifted? You are a true king!"

The real king's father is NOT impressed: "He crowned you? What a joke! He's still up to his old tricks!"

"All hail the new king!"

Let's see what this guy in Romaly's jail has to say: "You let Kandar flee? You're too lax, your Highness."

This guy outside the castle walls says that the Wizard's Wand can fire fireballs at enemies...

... and the Wizard's Wand can be used any number of times!

The Cloak of Evasion is for sale at Noaniels, but we already knew that!

The innkeeper is surprised: "Oh! Your Highness! Are you going for a walk?"

Meanwhile, this humble traveler is truly thrilled by the king's kind words.

"Wow! Look! It's the new king!"

This lady wonders about the brave hero from Aliahan, and why he hasn't come yet:

Let's try going outside of town, where we get stopped by the guards. "It is perilous to venture outside of the castle!"

While we're the king, let's check out the shops! The weapon and armor guy says that they owe it to the king that they can do business each day.

The tools guy just wants the king to lower the taxes on his subjects!

A customer in the shop says that the king was headed downstairs to the fight ring!

"Oh! Your Highness! What are you doing in a place like this?!"

"This is not a place that befits the likes of a king."

"Oh! Your Highness! You are well, I trust."

"Gambling? Wouldn't think of it. We're just watching, that's all."

"Look, everybody! The king!"

"Mumf... mumf..." Yup, he doesn't want to say anything bad in front of the king!

The former king never knew gambling was so much fun, and thinks that the common people have it good indeed!

When you say "yes" to carrying on the reign since he knows we'll do a good job, he's very pleased!

But when you say no, he's surprised that you tire already of being king. Our quest isn't going to continue by itself, though! He understands, and will not let us continue in something we dislike.

"It's better for thee to continue your travels."

We're instantly back in the throne room, where the King tells us how much more experience we need to go to the next level. Then he asks us whether we want to take his place again.

"It is done! Henceforth FLAMSTER shall rule as king of this castle!"

Clemens, Nessie, DUCK HUNT, 5-4 shootout win!

Decided to do laundry today before the game. Corey told me months ago that I'd regret it if I deleted my NES emulator (Nessie), and I'm doing that RIGHT NOW since I want to play DRAGON WARRIOR 3 and 4 with codes. Guess I know how I'll be spending my time! Thank goodness I listed the codes for posterity in this post! Jon says there's a Filipino Food Night on Easter Sunday; well, I'm not going if a certain someone ELSE is, that's for sure! Since I couldn't write on the Canucks' FB wall during the crazy game (Anaheim and Vancouver exchanged goals ALL THE TIME) with the Ducks (DUCK HUNT), I instead exchanged messages with Clemens; he says it's fine and non-creepy if I said I missed the banter. Phew! 5-4 WIN IN THE SHOOTOUT, TYING US ON POINTS WITH THE RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

Jane, Mandarin, Nell, short people, BLECH, and tones

Jane W. sent an email thanking me for my gift of a picture frame, which was nice and polite. I replied to Mandy's email as I did this morning, too. Nell J. wanted to add me on FB via the Puckheads, so why not? Corey then got on MSN to tell me that short people suck; I knew he was doing it on purpose to get me to yell at him, which I did anyway since I've missed that. Yes, I do miss the strangest things, haha! Apparently, old ladies won't get things from the low shelves for him, but that's understandable! He says he had a class on prank calls today, too. I also asked him if he'd heard about those nasty urine-cooked eggs, then we talked about Mandarin / Cantonese and McDonalds. "Well, even if the tones are right, there's still like a billion words that all have the same sound AND tone. It's not a very good system in my opinion... have more possible sounds :P Longer words, maybe... something to differentiate between all the things that sound exactly alike."
"Jane says it's because Chinese people are smarter and can tell the difference. I say it's because the person that invented it didn't think things through well enough. :P English is kind of a big mess, too, but at least our words are mostly distinguishable, and we have writing that's possible to read without years of study. Even I can say 'Happy Birthday.' :P Well, sometimes people tell me I'm perfect, and sometimes people tell me they totally can't understand me since I usually forget the tones. At McDonalds a couple times, they tried to give me #10 instead of #4 (4 is si, 10 is shi) I held my fingers up when I said it, and other people say I pronounce it PERFECTLY, so I think they were just dumb. Some people are afraid of using Chinese with me anyway, so they just switch to broken English and make mistakes. They really don't even listen to my Chinese, unless I want them to speak English... then they can't speak a word. :P"

This is what he had to say about teaching: "I had a class about prank calls today. The classes yesterday were okay, the ones today weren't that enthusiastic, but my afternoon class (which is normally dead) was extra small because it's Tomb Sweeping Day tomorrow, so not many people came. Small classes generally will talk more.  the more people that come, the quieter they get. They're mostly afraid of each other, more than me. My night class is usually terrible, but a lady that knows all my complaints recently encouraged a new girl to talk to me. That worked, and this girl is like my new best student, and now SHE is encouraging other people to talk, too... if that chain continues, we just might fix everything for a while. Last night's class was great, and I have heard about pee eggs. Blech. They say Chinese people will eat anything... that might not be literally true, but I think it's close. :P"

Then I said that I should try sleeping at 2:33 AM. He replied with, "I should try eating now. It's 5:35 PM, and I have to leave in 45 minutes to go teach my Superior class about the Razzies for two hours. It's the Superior class, and they talk a lot. I need like three hours with them regardless of the topic, most of the time. They actually use English, which is why they're in the Superior class. :P The problem with them is that they like to hear themselves talk, and don't want to listen to much of what I say. That's a better problem than my other classes, though."

Urine-cooked eggs?! EW! Pokemon sounds better!

Exchanged "hi" messages with Damien on FB chat, and discovered that someone named James Christopher Boucher wanted to add me on Facebook - I DON'T THINK SO! The water was out for a while in the building, but was back on at around 9. Thank goodness! Lisa says that there's such a thing as a lettuce knife, and Steph says there are such things as urine-cooked eggs ("virgin boy eggs") in China - well, then. EW! Talked briefly to James about Pokemon and such; I really don't know much about that, but I'm willing to listen. Different interests are good!

Deep River Zesty Jalapeno chips, melatonin, and EASTER BUNNIES!

Went to Shoppers Drug Mart to get more toilet cleaning supplies - I hate being short, so the ones at London Drugs on the TOP shelves aren't going to work out for me! Also got melatonin since it was a bit cheaper than at LD; got a bunny with rice crisps inside for Chinese Eric, and two on-sale Hershey's cookies and creme small rabbits. One was for me and one was for Mattias - that way, he can eat it before his parents Chung and Karen come to pick him up from Toddler Sunday School. There's no good reason for the kid not to have occasional sugar, after all. :P [I understand that it makes kids hyper and isn't good for you in general, but COME ON!] Then I went to London Drugs to get a 300g bag of assorted Lindt Easter eggs for Chinese Eric, on-sale Kit Kat Bites / Coffee Crisp Bites, and another on-sale stuffed animal; this one is for Mattias so I can pay lip service to respecting the "no sugar" rule. In addition, I got some Deep River Zesty Jalapeno kettle-cooked chips. they're probably NOT as spicy as I'd like, but they'll do.

Tiananmen Square massacre / ERIC HO

I was still in a bit of a bad mood when I got up at 11:30 - but at least Eric hadn't called. Two weeks in a row of church is all I can take right now, honestly. Participated in some drama, talked briefly to James on YM, read about the Tiananmen Square massacre for a bit, then thought of what I can do for Chinese Eric (CHOCOLATE!); that last one finally lifted my mood to "normal," thank goodness. Talked to Miriam (beatle9) later on, using Gmail chat - apparently, there's a Jewish dish called knish which I must try. Mashed potatoes wrapped in dough?! For some reason, James thought I was badass tonight since I was busting out references to Neil Young's OLD MAN, wrestling and metal chairs / suplexing, and Rush's side-project Victor. Fair enough, hahaha! I just thought it was funny. :D
