Discharge, gaming, passport photos

Thank goodness I had a "get well soon" card in my stash before I went to visit Vanessa in the hospital across the street since she's getting over surgery! I should get additional ones from the dollar store next week at some point since I think that was my only / last one, heh. When I got there, I found out that she'd been discharged! Oh well... more time for gaming!

Talked to Mom on the phone tonight about passport photos (I need to get it done for something she doesn't know about yet, anyway) / solar flowers (they're CUTE!) / pants / Halloween candy / Alan and Polly / Grandma and the respite centre / her friends who aren't grandmothers yet / Auntie Brenda / Auntie Gloria / Auntie Christine / Steph / Lisa / Bathroom Reader Page-A-Day calendars / January cruises. At least I was able to keep it relatively short!

LUFIA works again! / 3-2 loss / The Shape Quiz

Eric tried to get me out of the apartment last night, but I wasn't having it since I was busy. Decided to try LUFIA games again, and discovered something that actually worked without TOO many glitches or bugs! The Canucks lost 3-2 to St. Louis last night, too.

Flattus Maximus / DRAGON QUEST 3 and BREATH OF FIRE 1 glitches / Romance Style

Corey got my Skype message about the GWAR guy, and said it sucked - I agree! Apparently, the last guy to play Flattus Maximus long-term also died since he got shot when someone tried stealing his car! The hockey game last night against Minnesota sucked, too... 5-1 for the Wild. I am NOT PLEASED. BREATH OF FIRE 1 froze, and DRAGON QUEST 3 was glitchy!!! I'm not going out tonight since I'll be busy with the hockey game AND my weekly tradition!

Your Love Style is Independent

Fiercely independent, you are unapologetically unconventional in relationships. You need your space.

You are attracted to the quirky people of all kinds. You love to celebrate differences.

You aren't too hung up on what love should be like. You know that each love is different and evolving.

Being trapped (dream) / Flattus Maximus found DEAD! / Primary color flowers

Had that dream where I was trapped in the apartment in the dark without working electricity. Fits my depressing week, honestly. Then I heard that Flattus Maximus of GWAR was found dead as the band was preparing for a border crossing... of course, I sent that news to Corey via Skype message! I was responsible and paid my phone bill (which was NORMAL) today, too. Harmony just emailed us some news on Paul - words can't express my feelings.

You Are a Blue Flower

You know a lot, and you're always learning more. You believe in being self-sufficient.

You are a rule breaker, but not a rule maker. You generally despise all rules.

You are very fantasy-prone. If you don't like how the world is, you imagine how it could be.

You are an open, flexible person who is able to see the world through many perspectives.

Chun Li of STREET FIGHTER in BREATH OF FIRE 1

Note: Your LJ Friends' Roles in Your Quest for World Domination blogquiz, by Olivia. (0l1v14)

If you want to see Chun Li of STREET FIGHTER fame in a BREATH OF FIRE 1 cameo, talk to the fake magician in Bleak. Answer "yes" twice, "no" twice, then "yes." Kinda funny.

Finished EARTHBOUND ZERO! / 5-1 win ALMOST a shutout / Modern Architecture

Some random person named Kelly Appleton tried adding me on FB - DENIED! I also finished EARTHBOUND ZERO / MOTHER 1 during the hockey game last night, which was ALMOST a shutout! The Flames scored with 32 seconds left to go, but the Canucks won 5-1. Scott predictably LIKED this, but I respect his opinion. Got my new BC ID card in the mail, too.

You Are Level-Headed

You won't be deterred from your destiny. You know what you were meant to do in this life.

You are quite delicate and very sensitive. You are easily overwhelmed.

You are easily moved to tears and laughter. When you feel something, you aren't shy about expressing it.

No matter what, you deal with everything in a calm and balanced way. You try not to get worked up.

Irish stew, mangosteen pudding, on-sale Halloween stuff

I saw on-sale Breyer's peanut butter and jelly ice cream today, but didn't buy it since I was concerned about how it would taste. But I did get on-sale Jam-Packed Turtles ice cream, on-sale Breyer's chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, Olympic Greek yogurt x2, St. Ives Exfoliating Apricot body wash, St. Ives Refreshing Citrus body wash, store brand Sidekicks (Butter and Herb / Parmesan x2 / Sour Cream and Chives / Fettuccine Alfredo x2), on-sale eggs (in case I make hot and sour soup noodles this month), and beef / turkey / chicken pot pies. Also got spreadable butter (which was HELL to find), on-sale Hungry Man microwaveable meals (Salisbury Steak x2 / Turkey x2), chicken / beef / vegetable / spicy chicken noodles, on-sale Cadbury 50-count fun size chocolate bars in a box x2 (Mr. Big / Wunderbar / Caramilk / Crispy Crunch), Irish stew, mushroom pieces, gravy and meatballs, and chicken stew.

Decided to get on-sale Reese's peanut butter cups, on-sale Oh! Henry, on-sale Maynard's Swedish Berries for Hien (all 12-count bags), on-sale Clamato x2, Ego mangosteen Chinese pudding, almond milk, and soy milk in regular flavor. Got home and discovered that Janina had mailed me a Halloween card with interesting stickers: "Where do vampires eat their lunch? At the casket-teria! [cafeteria] Ha ha!" Then Hien said I shouldn't buy her stuff, even if Superstore and Walmart were sold out; says she'll try Zellers next, but I'll still keep the candy just in case! Vanessa also sent me a FB message saying that she didn't think she could make it to Granville Island tomorrow; considering I thought that was last week, it's no big deal to me!

Benkai Ramen, processing things, and more

Talked to Teunis briefly on MSN before leaving. Well, I expected at least one announcement at tonight's sibling dinner... I didn't expect TWO! Now I'm just trying to process stuff. Jon, Lisa, Harmony, and Steph bugged me about Chinese Eric (WE HAD PIZZA AND WATCHED THE EFFING GAME!) and transit before we discussed Marble Slab right next door from Benkai Ramen, candy, coupons, moving, trauma, bus passes / transit, Halloween, babies, Angela and baby Caleb, crying / sleep, SPACE LORD, Saskatchewan, Regina, the parents' European trip next month, Grandma and respite, Mom's stockpiling everything for years, Uncle Joe's literal jaw-dropping reaction, Myles / Brittney, weight, sitting on people, Michelle scheduling her baby shower for 11 AM on Nov. 11 (oops), costs, Las Vegas, funds, parks, and more. It was nice seeing them again - of course I paid Lisa for the newest Bathroom Reader! SO MUCH CHANGE! Now, it's time for a Halloween-appropriate adult beverage like this bottle of Granville Island PUMPKIN ale! (talked to Kenny via Skype, too)

Melatonin, desert land mines, Halloween masks, and plan changing

Got up, had a shower, and started some laundry before going to the pharmacy next door to get some melatonin which hopefully will help with the sleep issues. Then my plans were ruined because Steph decided we should go to Jon and Harmony's instead for Korean Chap Chae - WTF, people?! It WAS easy before, and now it isn't! Fuck it. Later, Harmony had sense and said she didn't want me to get lost since their place can be tricky to find - I guess the original ramen dinner plans are on again?

You Should Wear a Devil Mask

Some people only see the evil side of you, but there's a lot about you that is amazingly interesting.

You make lots of discoveries. You are intensely curious and always exploring.

You are able to reason your way through anything, and you often come up with controversial conclusions.

You are open-minded and a freethinker. You believe in doing things your way.

The only people who see the evil side of me are those who DESERVE IT! TRUST ME....

I stepped on a land mine in the Advent Desert in MOTHER 1 / EARTHBOUND ZERO, and got a message from Shigesato Itoi, who's the creator of the MOTHER games:

Metric buttload of stuff / Honey Goldfish / EMI

When Eric called this morning to see whether I was coming out, I told him that I would since I had a metric buttload of shit to give out. Once I saw him, I clarified that I didn't mean literal shit! We talked about the ass Paul, today's meeting, bad drivers, the extremely rainy weather, my not doing Committee next year, yesterday, and more on the way to church. Sure, we were late, but at least I didn't see Paul there! Later, I gave Deb the baby oil as a practical gift before talking to Jeremy about work and stuff. Then I talked to Karen and Lincoln about the sucky weather and our weeks - always good! When Vivian came by, Dylan remembered it was her birthday - at least she was celebrating by going out to dinner after all the meetings she had to attend! I let baby Micah see my shiny keys after talking to Phil and Grace (plus dodging Gavin / Margaret K.), and said hi to little Micah, who waved back.

Learned stuff about Jon C. and Croatia / Molly and China, said hi to Auntie Ying (who knew I'd hung out with Chrystal thanks to Uncle Lewis), and talked to Kevin and Dylan about next week. Went upstairs to Toddler Sunday School - gave Halloween candy to Rachel (via her grandma), Anastasia, Ashley, Jonathan (I had an extra), Mattias (honey Goldfish!), Ramen, Shira, David, and Evelyn. Ashley remembered my name when Jessie was asking her, haha - no one remembered Lanie's, and almost all the kids named their siblings as their friends, hahaha. The kids were prompted to thank me, and Auntie Ying said that I was so thoughtful... hey, the candy was cheap enough that I could rationalize spending $20 for eleven of them! Lanie and I agreed that we could still hear the kids if they yelled into toy boxes, hahaha.

By the time I got downstairs (saying hi to Stella), Eric said that they all were waiting for me - he and I had Pho near the old church with Randal (rode in his car?!), Christon, Jeremy (who left a bunch of stuff this morning), Deb, and Dylan. We talked about how nobody had seen Paul in about a week or so (GOOD), the bad stuff he's going through (KARMA), Randal's dad, Christon's stressful work week caused by someone quitting, Fort St. John, meeting Wes in Chetwynd at a happening 7-11, people buying islands, small group stuff, Martin's wedding, EMI (Sex Pistols!), McDonalds, seniors coffee, iced coffee, and more. Once we got to church, Eric wondered about the usage of the word "incumbent" on the ballot - yeah, questionable stuff there! I was surprised when my stuff was moved after I got back from the bathroom - but found everyone else on the other side of the sanctuary! (Dylan said that the party was happening over there, and has similar sleep issues!)

We were trying to make quorum as usual; Alan was texting Steph about it, and Tracy bemoaned the never-updated membership list since Dianne / Wes / Erin (who's been in Ottawa for years!) are still on it! She said that Brian was being voted in, but he's in Japan! Steph came in for two minutes to vote and leave since she had to work at 3 - she says tomorrow's dinner is near Broadway Station, so that should be fine. Jon bugged me about the email I sent yesterday, and asked whether I'd talked to Paul since I kicked him out - WHY IN THE FRESH HELL WOULD I DO THAT?! He thinks the conversation needs to happen; meh, we'll see! I kept myself distracted by trying to entertain a fussy baby Marcus, who'd missed his nap. We learned that Pastor Tom is leaving us for Toronto really soon!

After the meeting, Eric had to talk to Citrus about STARCRAFT, but it was a lucky thing that Christon was too busy to talk to him. I told him just to EMAIL it instead - I had stuff to do at home, man! We talked about French stuff, cows, pigs, chicken, pizza leftovers, MOTHER 3, MOTHER 1, LUFIA, games in general, potlucks and my having to leave when things were getting good, cash, and more. Got home and talked to Corey briefly via Skype about plane tickets, MOTHER 3, and more - HE'LL BE HOME FOR A MONTH ON DECEMBER 10! That's good news, indeed!

Up early / The Art Start Test

Since I went to bed at 1:30 AM, I was annoyed that I got up at 6:15 AM! Not sure if I ever did get a bunch of sleep ANYWAY! At least I got the GBA copy of BREATH OF FIRE I; here's hoping it works better than the SNES version!
