What the heck is an OOPS file?! I found it mildly amusing, anyway!




Of COURSE our wild horse Falshion is the legendary Pegasus in Reidock town! Considering what happens WAY later on in the game in the Pegasus Tower (which I've only heard about), this has to be true!

Copa Café, Uncle Michael, Aunt Leslie, and DRACULA

Mom and Dad were late picking me up, but we were on our way to Dogwood pretty soon. Apparently, the Terry Fox run is next week, so I should tell white Eric in case I ever decide to go to church. Mom thinks I should, but we'll see - I can make my own decisions. After feeding Grandma some chicken congee and special tea, Mom found out that Uncle Michael and Aunt Leslie had gotten lost! Grandma seemed to have a good appetite, anyway. Of COURSE Mom made me sit in the middle... sigh. Turns out we went to Copa Café for lunch, and Mom was surprised that I'd been there before! I let Aunt Leslie hold hands with me while walking to the restaurant... Mom let me order a mango bubble tea since it was only $2 with a meal (normally $4.50), haha.

They talked in Chinese about what to do around here, Kin's Farm, Yvonne, Lillian, Aaron, Auntie Kwai, Grandma's health, shoes, Wails, and more. I got a ribeye steak with Paris-style sauce; I'd have ordered a steak with black pepper sauce, but I thought Mom was getting that. She got some other noodle dish instead! Oh well. Aunt Leslie ended up being "sneaky" and paying for the meal, and also gave Mom a LAI-SEE envelope for baby Ayler: Mom was polite and said NO to everything (especially since she apparently told them that SHE'D pay for the meal), but it was already done! Got home to do some editing and posting, heh. I should call Chinese Eric soon in case I join everyone for dinner tomorrow, haha. Also decided I was done with ontd_pucking ... OFF-TOPIC STUFF RULES! thehockeypool FOREVER!


Mom, upon hearing a news story about a kiddy Transylvania movie: "What kind of name is DRACULA?! Why would you have that name?!" My explanations that Dracula is a CHARACTER in a KIDDY movie fell on deaf ears. AIYA!

Editing filtered entries / Crazy pizza crawls / 002 When

After I'd finished editing some filtered entries last night, Eric got on MSN to see whether I was going to church. I said that I'd heard he had some kind of meeting afterwards, and he told me that I'd replied to that Evite. Oh yes, I vaguely remember that now. He also thought I'd gone crazy, or was metamorphosing / disappearing. NO, DAMMIT! Eric said something about eating lunch at the meeting, and then getting together with Jon and Nathan later to do a pizza crawl with Christon. JFC, I'm not made of money! I didn't feel like going, anyway. Turned out that I couldn't sleep, so took melatonin - end result was waking up at 1:45! Whoops, hahaha.


In Oracle Valley, you can open the jail doors with the Magic Key, and this prisoner is grateful: "I've been incarcerated here for over ten years, but this is the first time that anyone has ever spoken to me. Weekly tradition! / Yvonne / SOMETHING AWFUL / Stone statues!

I've missed the weekly tradition, and now that I have peace and quiet, I'll go right back to it since it's been way too long from late May to August... and I also included Chinese Eric on the FAT DRAGON email thread! Replied to Mandy's emails this morning; yes, a certain person IS an idiot! (weekly tradition people seem to think much worse - but I'd agree; DOUCHE!) Vanessa got on MSN to tell me that she and Kim were looking at Cora's breakfast at around 9 or 10 on MONDAY; sounds good. I found a great LP thread on Something Awful for DRAGON QUEST V!

August 2012 BBT Tally / CHINESE ERIC / Panties!

I called Chinese Eric at 12:30 since I thought he'd called me, but "BLOCKED CALL" could mean anything! At least he answered the phone, and we had a good brief convo which made me feel better! I said that I'd seen Nathan TWICE already while he's been in town, and Eric wondered what was up with that guy since he never responded to his calls or emails! Nate IS a busy guy, with family dinners and work and who knows what else! I relayed the FAT DRAGON on MONDAY message from Jon to Eric, who said he'd have to see since the family friends STILL aren't out of town yet, but they DID just get back from the States! Says he'll call me on Saturday or Sunday to figure stuff out, which DEFINITELY sounds TERRIFIC! :D

Went to Sears at 2:05 to get some dark on-sale Jessica IMAGE panties, too. Also got Jessica knee socks, at three for $10. While I was at the mall, some East Indian kid smiled at me; he couldn't have been more than maybe nine or ten. Cute! Had to purchase some Always pads at Shoppers, and a watermelon bubble tea at Big Orange. I then thought of getting some cheap blank cards, but London Drugs / the dollar store / Shoppers didn't have them. Hallmark Cards had a 99¢ card section, but there were no blank cards. After scrounging through the "Thinking of You" subsection, I found one design that would be suitable for a baptism card application if ever I needed it, so I got the last eleven on the shelf. ("Sending you warm thoughts to brighten your day and lighten your heart" works! :P The "congratulations" cards almost never work if you want to use them for a non-Easter baptism!) I also found some seriously on-sale BUG 'EM! bees and ladybugs there (from $7.95 to $1.95?!), so got the last ladybug for myself, and a bee for white Eric's birthday which is next week. Yeah, they're more suitable for kids, but whatever works! Managed to cram everything into my purse (minus the garbage), and got home by 3:40!

Speaking of white Eric, he just called to see if I were going to the board games night: NO! I need my privacy! Also, I took the opportunity to rant to him about Randal's presumptuous emails. I don't want to hear anything more about SETTLERS OF CATAN or a guys' night out! JFC, people. I'm about to go back to the weekly tradition!

Ryan sent me a supportive trusting FB message, which is awesome! Talked to Talia on AIM briefly about TQC and road markings.


After sprinkling Wake-Up Powder on the sleeping village of Noaniels in DRAGON WARRIOR III (to get rid of a curse from the elf queen), this woman asks if you heard her snoring while she was asleep. If you say yes, she says it's embarrassing!




This is what happens when you parry (defend yourself) in a fight: "[character name] protects ITSELF." I know the game wasn't programmed to recognize male / female gender choices in random encounters, but it's still funny or WTF-worthy!

Rainbow Chelita, Advent Desert bones, and energy!

I was up at noon for the first time in maybe a month, which is VERY good for the sleep debt! Chelita (rainbowchelita) messaged me on AIM because she thought I was someone else, hahaha. I updated her on stuff, then. Went to visit Grandma, who could be discharged to Dogwood tomorrow morning - good news, for once. She seemed to have a bit more energy and was sitting in her wheelchair; I spoon-fed her some soup with garlic in it (Mom thinks it'll prolong Grandma's life by months), and discovered that she thought I was Steph!

Mom gave me some sausages and soft Hello Kitty candy; since you have to cook the sausage first (I prefer pre-cooked stuff) AND it's not the type of candy I'd eat much of, I just threw it out when I got home. David S. invited me to an RQ Facebook group, and already Mer is wondering about it! Evelyn decided to accept it, and Brian's defending me. It's not like I will do a bunch of stuff there, hahaha. (they took me out of there within hours, though) Called both Jon and Lillian to update them on things: Lillian can pick me up tomorrow at 9 for the transfer at 10, which is fine.

Dream about train stations, Marissa, Rich, Chinese Eric, and Phil

It's a good thing that white Eric didn't call me this morning because I wouldn't have been awake, although I got up at 9:45. Besides, I actually remembered a dream which I gotta write down! Thank goodness for extra time to fart around! Although I note that LJ is down right now... *sigh*

I dreamed that I was in a conference building, and that I had to see my dad. He was meeting Marissa and her crew at a nearby White Spot, and I had to get over there before Rich knew about this. Rich was actually there before I was, but wasn't mad about it. He said that he was there with some old and new co-workers / work friends, and let me know that he'd be going up north to pursue a new endeavor as a police officer. Finally, we saw Dad and Marissa's crew in the crowd of white people at the restaurant.

We joined them for dinner, and later went our separate ways. I met up with Chinese Eric at a train station, where he was busily going through some figures on paper about Telus. He helped me up a particularly nasty set of stairs, and I appreciated the friendly touch and hand-holding! Once there, we met up with Phil and talked to a bunch of people about hockey. I misheard that Parise and Suter had been traded soon after their acquisition by the Minnesota Wild, and wondered about that. Someone wrote next to my typed question: "NO!" Then I went with Phil and Eric to the Thompson train station, on the other side of the building, and talked for a while till the train came.


Triggers: Talking about the Puckhead meetup at White Spot / hockey in general with Chinese Eric, wanting Phil's ministry updates via email, seeing Rich at Eddie and Eunice's wedding, and trying to keep up with hockey news. Odd, but interesting enough!


Edit at 1123: LJ is working now, an hour later. Good!

Needing friends / Surgate Castle Library (donkeys and weight)

Chinese Eric got on MSN at about 8:30 to say that his parents had committed him to a family dinner with relatives tomorrow night, so we'd have to reschedule. Hey, it doesn't matter to me as long as I know! (I understand that pain!) We wished each other a Happy Canada Day, of course! Discussed travel being in season (I know), Calgary people heading down to BC and San Jose, the son of family friends getting married next week to someone else who also works at Microsoft, marriage and hope, workplace romances being fraught with peril if they don't work out, babysitting, disbelief, pure evilness in Korey / his "impending death," James, updating LJ / "THE BLOG," mixing people up, future phone calls to reschedule, yesterday's events, feelings, and more. Always good times... and I'd interrupt cutscenes to talk to him, anyway! Of course, I thanked him for being the awesome friend he is! If he hears from me before Wednesday, then that means I seriously need him... but things should be under control since I'm feeling better than when I sent him the trip update email! (he'll keep that in mind!) Also replied to Mandy's email while I was at it.


Two books at a time will be too heavy for our intrepid hero in the Surgate Castle Library!

White Eric, finishing location, LDDUDE BLESSINGS!

White Eric called me at 6:50 to see whether I was going to Fellowship tonight: CHECK YOUR DAMN EMAIL FIRST BEFORE CALLING ME! Geez! I told him exactly what was up, and added that HE believed in prayer, so he could do what he liked in that way. Then Steph called to say that I could make it out if I wanted; Eric had already left, and I felt like catching up on my sleep anyway. I did that, and then figured I'd finally finish the location and tagging project that's consumed my time over the past couple of weeks. That was done at about 9:20 PM, so back to gaming it was!

Got an unexpected phone call about half an hour later from Chinese Eric, which is NEVER a problem! We talked about Nathan being in town till the 2nd (I'll miss him!), personal things, L.A. and New Jersey in the Stanley Cup Final, his being a bit better, how we were, and other things. I know he's been busy with stuff, so any time to call me IS a blessing! At least he doesn't have to play tour guide anymore! He had another call come in, so had to cut this one short; definitely not a problem with this great friend! :D

Legit excuses and throwing religion away!

Sheryll added me to Facebook, so yay for that! Called Steph about things, too. Later, I called Jon about those things - I guess this is a legit excuse to miss Fellowship tonight, so I emailed Eric instead of calling him. Some things are just TOO intimate for a family answering machine... left ONE comment in what used to be my weekly tradition, too. Mom also gave me a bunch of greeting cards yesterday (16th birthday / 21st birthday / new baby / get well soon), but I had to throw out all but four of them since they were religious!

Gold N Silver Pawn Shop... I'll be on it for you!

Talked to Chinese Eric on MSN last night about the Vegas trip, money from there, souvenirs from the Gold N Silver Pawn Shop in Vegas, his college trip there almost ten years ago (the Vegas experience has changed - I'll let him know!), the LATE new baby, luck, irony if the "feisty" baby comes during that trip, and more. I didn't mind if he took an hour to respond to my original message! Today, I plan to finish the LJ location field project before gaming once more. Maybe I'll complete FFII once more before I go to Vegas! (that is, if the entire known universe doesn't buzz me all the time...) Got a wedding thank-you card / photo in the mail today from Dawn and Eni, too! :D

Screechy laptop noises?!

Before I left the townhouse, Mom also gave me some milk / a bottled water / Kleenex / candy. Steph and I discussed maxipad expense, wedding reception seating (Rachel and Viv? I'm in!), wedding reception food (ahi tuna / key lime cheesecake and much more), sanity, the Grand Canyon, US money, Auntie Ruby, health, and downtime in the car. Got home before 6:30 and turned on the laptop; not only did it take longer to start up, it's also making screechy noises! AIYA! Time for more editing work on filters and the past!

Journal upkeep, Blogger, Semagic,and being there

I was so busy doing journal upkeep that I didn't notice any phone calls from Eric when he tried getting me out of the house at 6:10. Thank goodness, as I'm making some progress here! It also seems as if I'll have to get used to the new Blogger interface (which sucks for HTML), or use Semagic for drafts. Should be okay for now, I guess. Tonight, I was there for a friend, which is good.

Tagging, location, Cypress, Whistler, tour guides, and active babies

Spent a lot of time earlier working on projects such as LJ tagging / location, and FB date changes and tagging. Good thing that Eric H. said hi on MSN after his long day at Cypress and Whistler! I'm sure he feels like a tour guide, but as long as he can rest afterwards, it'll be fine! (he needs a reprieve, which he'll get in a couple of days) He said that the Kings had won again (10-1), which I'd heard about earlier. Discussed fun research, the 2008 Pens (who lost to the Wings in the Final), NO BABY NEWS yet, innocent winking, trips, the active baby in utero (might be a boy?), and more. I also finished the FB date changes and tagging; no more constant notifications for my friends, I'm sure!

Editing 1100 memories, Semagic location

I finally finished editing 1100+ entries at 1:35 AM, and I never want to go through that ever again! If I'd kept closer watch on the number of entries in the category in the first place, and knew it would take longer for the page to load even if it was just text, I could have saved myself the agony! Yes, I'm being melodramatic. :P *sigh* At least with Semagic, I can put a "home" location to some entries which lack it, which will hopefully take less time!

Memory organization / Impossible Gil amount

As I thought, I ended up sleeping in this morning; that kinda happens when you stay up till 4 AM doing various things and farting around on the Internet! At least I didn't have to listen to a sermon about mothers! I found that I had to re-organize a whole bunch of memorable LJ entries, so this will take up my entire afternoon and evening! (and late night too, I'm quite sure... so annoying since I can't do it in bulk!)


This is an impossible amount of money for the inn to be charging my FINAL FANTASY II party for a stay! (in Mysidia) I suspect this has to do with the codes I put in...

BIG BANG THEORY / Leaving ONTD

Got up at about 8 because it was too sunny outside; discovered that Itamar had left a link to a BIG BANG THEORY scene on my wall, contending that SETTLERS OF CATAN was indeed geeky. WHAT DID I TELL YOU?! (penis jokes and "excessive" laughter aside...) Dad dropped off my purse at 11:15 this morning, so of course I had to thank him for doing that. Also got Steve L.'s contact info before he deactivated his FB account, so that's a good thing! Did a bunch of FB photo organization; Itamar and Jesse both said that everyone got notified of the time changes! SHIT, I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT THAT!

Decided to just "leave" ONTD by not having it on my page; if we can't have video game screencaps in a FREE-FOR-ALL post, then what CAN we have?! Those are some really crazy rules! No more "weekly tradition" for me! I'm sure Eric will be happy about that, haha. :P Besides, I haven't been feeling it lately.

SETTLERS OF CATAN = half-hour videos!

Eric got on MSN to ask whether I were going tonight, so I told him to check his email since I actually responded to one of Christon's for once. He said that I didn't have to play SETTLERS OF CATAN if I didn't want to, but I did have to watch a 30-minute Youtube video (featuring Wil Wheaton) about the game. I was going to do the weekly tradition for all the 400+ screenshots, but stopped at 70 after people thought they'd report me or ban me. Meh, that takes the fun out of things. Then I answered about that many comments before figuring I should call Eric, but Veronica answered the phone instead, which made me nervous for some stupid reason. (LOSS OF CONTROL OR SCRIPT!) I can just imagine Eric's reaction if I tell him to tell his mother not to answer the phone when I call (which I wouldn't) - they have CALLER ID, for God's sake! - but that would be bad. Guess I am going... *stupid brain*
