Wasting bandages, Christmas, 5-3 wins, Owen, dentists, and warmth

When Henry picked me up for Awana in the pouring rain, we said hi and then settled down to listen to what turned out to be a podcast of a long Greg Laurie message about Jonah and the whale! We both agreed that we'd NEVER seen people who put their dogs in strollers before, as he apparently has. I found this religious message to be interesting and somewhat topical, which is actually a good thing. When we got to church, I saw Annika acting really excited as she ran for the elevator. Of course, I had to ask her how much sugar she had today: "None... I wanted my friend's candy, but I didn't take any!" Her dad was trying to get her to calm down, haha. Talked to Chrystal about my exciting week: yes, my Hong Kong friend is BACK HOME! Daniel was saying that it was never too early for Christmas; I tend to disagree! (the kids were singing Christmas songs already for singing time... thanks, Eric!) A few parents were looking for a small kid who seemed to have disappeared - yikes! I saw Alan Yu back from wherever he went, so he said that he'd gone on the trip with my parents (news to me), and that they'd also gone to Egypt, which wasn't that clean! Can't say I was too surprised to hear THAT, haha! Benedict kept us informed of the hockey score from his phone since the Canucks were in Toronto; it was 3-2 for us at one point. I also learned that Cynthia's favorite color is black - NICE! I said hi to Auntie Vivian, who said that she was enjoying life; always a good thing! Cynthia wasted a bandage while trying to make Annika feel better - oh well.

Went upstairs to see the kids working on their pizza party invitations, and Henry asked if I wanted anything; nope! Amos and Harrison were being rowdy as usual, while Justin wanted to invite Kayden (who was sitting right next to him) to the party. Mike and Emily tried telling him that he couldn't do that, haha... kids! Eric T. said hi to me while Gerard barreled his way toward the washrooms. I went downstairs again to see Aaron apparently just making his way into the fellowship hall, so I said that everyone was upstairs, but reminded him to check in first. Went upstairs with Aaron, and informed Henry that I'd found one of his kids. After I got back downstairs into the WARM fellowship hall (so nice that the heater's fixed now!), Chrystal figured that Ada wasn't here today - that's what I thought, too! Lanie agreed with me about the warmth, too! So I went back upstairs to inform Henry of this - yep, he could give me a ride home! I asked those parents if they'd found their kid: Owen was with the Sparkies, apparently! Turns out I'd overheard him talking to Hilary in the washroom when I was in there, heh.

A few minutes after I went back downstairs again (and watched the older kids play games - Emily M. was looking at postcards while Jordan received a stern lecture from Chris and Sarah), I noted that it was cold in the hall once more. "It's SO WARM!" isn't necessarily a bad thing, although the church does have to watch its utility costs! I found out that Conor had registered for Awana again after all; YAY! Steven brought a chalkboard eraser to us that was falling apart; Daniel thought Sabrina had fixed it with glue, but apparently it wouldn't stay... tape it was! Had a few crackers, and noted that I'd spilled soy sauce on my WHITE sweatshirt, so did laundry as soon as I got home. Talked to Rachel, Joshua, and Keenan; Tim put a friendly arm around me as he asked how my week was, so of course I wished him a happy belated birthday! He thanked me, and said that they'd gone out for dinner last night with his family, and were going to have Japanese food tonight... nice! I've had too much sushi myself in the past 24 hours, but it's good nonetheless. Aaron said bye to Henry, who said that he'd have to miss the pizza party because he had a dentist appointment! When Henry dropped me off, I said I'd make arrangements with Ada the way I normally do, and wished him good luck at the dentist's! At the front desk, Chris was showing his pet snake off to people! Found out that the Canucks won 5-3, so that's a pretty good thing! Vanessa H. has also invited me for all-you-can-eat sushi on Friday, but I can't come because of Fellowship... good for my wallet, haha!

Alternate reality seven years into the future, MANOS, Grandma and humor awards, gifts

I had a weird dream where if you went through a certain warehouse door, the other side contained a hole through which you'd drop. After dropping through the hole, you'd be in an alternate reality where it was seven years in the future, but towels would follow you around everywhere and try to incapacitate your car. You could get back to the present, but your car would slowly fall apart as soon as you made a certain turn, and little children (like a white-looking Mattias) would fall apart and forget everything they'd learned. I could hold Mattias through this process, since his dad Chung assured me that he would be a baby again.

After I got back to reality, my mom told me that Grandma had won 16 awards in a row for being a humorist. Calla came over just to see the many little heads on the mantel! We went to a restaurant to celebrate, but I stupidly left my bag on the chair when I was only intending to stay a little while. So I had to go back inside, but didn't find it! I went back outside to the rather busy bus stop; these two East Indian girls were talking about which bus they should take. There were five nightbuses (which doubled as shuttle buses during the day) and two regular buses. Just as the last of the regular buses left the stop, one of the restaurant workers came out to find me: he had my bag with candy and stuff in it, along with another one which I recognized as Mom's. After he stared at me a bit, I figured I should at least say thanks.

Later in the dream, I went and read a ZITS comic where the mom was doing laundry, and Jeremy had been transformed into a little kid with all her expensive stuff. She was NOT impressed, and wondered what she'd done. Jeremy: "I won't tell if you won't!" HAHAHAHA! Then the dream ended because my alarm went off... good thing I set it for 1 instead of 2, because I have more time to eat leftover sushi while writing and checking stuff! No idea why I had it, although I've been reading ZITS regularly, and of course I did see Calla yesterday evening!

As advertised, Jen's decided to postpone the bad movie night. She included a Youtube clip of MANOS in her email, hahaha. This is why these things are hard to schedule, as I told Eric! I likely would have passed tonight because I need the downtime before tomorrow's busyness!

No early-morning prayer meetings or changes for ME, thanks! Yay, poo calendar!

When Eric picked me up, I apologized for being slightly late - I had to find something warm to wear which was not purple! He put that down to "paranoia" and girls never figuring out their clothing... whatever! I knew that I'd have a limited time before I had to appear relatively normal, so I made sure to get my usual ranting out of the way. He thinks I scared off some guy by telling him not to talk to us while we were eating: that was not my intent! I think that I personally shouldn't be bothered when I'm clearly trying to eat dinner in the limited time I have available to me. Also discussed that email which Randal sent ("good advice" according to Eric), trusting people, the upcoming meeting, driving, facepalming, traffic, and more prior to picking up Geoffrey. After that, we were mostly quiet... boo!

When we got to the church, we saw Sonya in a car with an Alberta license plate; she said that it had come from Ontario, haha! Went to our usual room (I waved at Victor from the elevator when he was crossing the "bridge") to find people eating already, so I joined Wesley by the four trays of sushi. Talked to Harmony about the bad movie night (she might pass since she can't take any more bad movies - I might pass because I need downtime before a busy Sunday), the cinnamon, Jon being downstairs, their late birthday present of 2011 Daily Calendar: What's Your Poo Telling You? (Josh Richman, Anish Sheth), tomorrow's family lunch and my sleep schedule lately (I'm still not over the energy drink / coffee combo on Halloween!), her just dumping Jon's sushi in a leftover tray (PRESENTATION!), and more. Said hi to Deb, while Vivian thought that my red bling sweater (which she approves of) looked Christmassy; yes, I realize she likes Christmas, but that's not why I bought it! We also discussed our parents' trip to Italy; I have not seen pictures, but I do believe her when she says my mom bought a lot of stuff! Speaking of Christmas, Christon HAD to lead a song which sounded suspiciously Advent-like when he was practicing it! He says he'll lead it next time he does congregational worship; I hope his next turn is in December, but I think it's in a couple of weeks! IT'S FREAKING NOVEMBER 12, NOT DECEMBER YET!!!!! (although that does remind me to get Advent calendars when they're in stores for my family...)

The AGM went okay, but do people [Cindy, Randal, etc.] really have to change EVERYTHING?! I am NOT impressed! Harmony noted something funny on the minutes of the last meeting: "Dave (last name unknown) should be changed to Dave Wong." HAHAHA, I remember that! I saw Johnny at the back on his laptop, so made sure to say hi later on. Good thing it went pretty quickly, just as Dylan planned. Everyone gave Pastor John some scrapbooks later as part of his appreciation. Looking through them was great, haha. He wondered where people had gotten all these photos, especially since he's not even on Facebook! (Josiah apparently has two accounts, so he's not worried about his son!) Eric wondered whether the 2011 poo calendar would have the same material as the 2009 one; perhaps some of it would be similar, judging from the quick look I've had!

Alan asked if anyone wanted the leftovers from Samurai Sushi: I did, especially since I didn't get any last time at Melia's. Got Tracy to help me with the soy sauce / tray lids; of course I thanked her! Jon later said I had "scored," and Harmony figured I'd be enjoying that instead of joining them for lunch at Cambie Village - yup, I don't want to worry about sleep deprivation OR getting back home in time for Henry to pick me up! (especially considering what happened LAST time when we went to #9 Restaurant in October 2009!) I just said that I had to have something to eat before Awana, and Christon said that worked! Cindy had purposely skipped the sushi dinner since she'd had some just yesterday; I think I won't suggest sushi to Billie or Eric H. on Sunday then, either! (it makes sense... maybe a dinner of Greek food, with a view to more leftovers?)

While Jon was trying to get people out for a bubble tea or a beer (the soy sauce HAD made Connie thirsty, for one), Eric said we could finally leave. I asked Christon whether he wanted to borrow the projector, but he said that I should ask Jen if she was going to postpone movie night. Accordingly, I did; she wants to get more people out (like her BFF), and a bigger venue. Maybe she can ask Steph on Saturday! I noticed Randal processing what I was saying by nodding along to it - thanks, NOT! Jen also said that Dragon Ball was closed; yeah, it's the family holiday! I finally went to the elevator (prompted by Geoffrey looking for me), and we went to the parkade. The ride to Geoffrey's was mainly quiet (he DID say he'd be there on Sunday), then Eric and I discussed his "vision" (which he said was God's :P) of Raymond / Randal / Mr. Creep being in my small group, AND the leaders! NO THANKS!

I also said Randal had had a lot of input - better him than Mr. Creep, but still. We talked about trust issues / former love interests / not being allowed to talk to certain people / being sleepy from the sushi. Eric also said that we could watch movies at his place tomorrow if Richmond wasn't too far away; his parents don't get back till Sunday! That's somewhat better for me! When he dropped me off at 9:30 or so, he said that he might be attending the early-morning prayer meeting on Sunday... I don't DO 9 AM on Sundays gladly! He should have consulted ME before making that unilateral executive decision... those meetings should be at night! I also just got an Evite from Jon for his annual Birthday Dinner Extravaganza - nice! (his family dinner is on the 22nd or something... of course I'll wake up in time for that, if I have to go...)

Sugar and cinnamon

Harmony called to see whether I'd be there tonight, since they have something to pass on to me. I asked whether they could use the sugar and cinnamon - she figures they're okay for white sugar, but I could always see if Flime wants the (relatively huge) quantity of cinnamon! I put it in a huge Ziploc bag - they can have that since I have plenty of THOSE! Should be good times tonight! She wondered if I wouldn't need it, but they do more cooking than I! Then Eric called to tell me that I was "Dee-Jo," say that I should answer my phone on Fridays (at least I took a shower earlier!), and that "my nemesis (whom I give a ride to occasionally)" was coming. After verifying that he meant Geoffrey and not Mr. Creep / Korey, he said he was leaving. Whatever, man.

Epic flying dream over Jones Soda bottles, red trees, and babies / COOKIES!

I had a dream where a blonde girl wanted to start a fight with the Mafia in a house with a checkered floor! She broke through their barrier of Jones Soda bottles, and challenged the head guy (in a tux) to a duel. He was feeling magnanimous, and spared her certain defeat. She then went to a school, where she broke into some lockers and stole some Jones Soda bottles to put by her own duffel bags. A few friends and I caught her trying to do this successfully; my guy friend with long black curly hair wanted to turn her in, but she took us flying across the perfect blue sky (with perfect white clouds) instead! We went across a field of Jones Soda bottles ("see, this is where everyone gets them from!"); a field of red trees; a field of babies and more clouds ("this is a shampoo commercial backdrop!"); and ended at a sign proclaiming this to be HARMONY RIDGE. There was a giant book with an index, where we found Section 224 to be full of Jewish jokes and history. After that, the dream just ended. Nice one!

When I got up, I found that I'd missed a call from Candy since of course the phone was off by default - oh well, it's better that I didn't get rudely awakened by the phone! I should turn it on again in a few hours in anticipation of Eric's call... SUSHI! (and shower way earlier than last week; poor guy!) I also just got an email from Steph (and Jon) about some lunch tomorrow; needless to say, I will not be going since I bet I'll still be sleeping! Yes, I'll probably set my alarm now for tomorrow also! Called Steph, who wasn't exactly surprised that I'm still having sleep issues ever since that energy drink / strong coffee combo on Halloween! I jokingly blamed her and Lisa, too! She said that Jon and Harmony already had made plans with the lards - I guess they don't know yet, since there's a lunch invite! At least I do set my alarm for church! (Eric also emailed us... hmm!)

Dil-Dil, whiteout for a good cause, lips, effects, no $50 gift cards, and tomatoes

Just before I left the apartment, I got an email from Randal saying that while he enjoys hanging out with her (best friends forever?!!!!), he doesn't feel like going to the bad movie night on Saturday for some reason... sweet! On the way over to the long meeting, Eric said we were holding it at Dylan and Deb's place since the church office was closed. ("Call Dil-Dil for me!" "YOU call Dil-Dil... we haven't left yet!") We talked about "Daniel," going to Uncle Daniel's later to put a card in the laptop (fine), focusing on certain people at lunch, his printout (which I used whiteout on when I got home), controversy, random stuff, and more. When we got to Dylan's after trying to find some parking, I used up their Beatrice orange juice while he prayed that our lips would be blessed so we wouldn't tear people down - DARN IT, haha! Talked about holiday planning, another "fun" curling program (SKIP), a passage-sharing night (hmm), Pastor John's news and its effect on us as a fellowship, SERVANTS, surprises, Harmony, Jon, Christon, Phil, Randal (did we have to bring up his name 100 times?!), Uncle Peter being the only one who accepted the $50 gift card (Wai-Mui returned it; Uncle Hansel just donated $50 to our group), strict Pastor Fulton (Vernon's dad) / Uncle Stephen / stern and strict Uncle Hansel (Robert's Rules!) / Uncle Patrick T. as counsellors or speakers, Samurai Sushi rolls tomorrow, and other things.

After the long meeting, we talked to Deb about Jen's soup with too much tomato (cream will curdle, says Kevin - bay leaves to neutralize the sour taste?) / green tea / ride arrangements. The cooking discussion reminded me of the cinnamon and sugar that I still have; maybe Jon and Harmony could use a quantity of each, haha. Eric and I headed to Uncle Daniel's place; the elevator in that apartment building is definitely more archaic than the one in mine! I spent the time talking to Auntie Christina in the kitchen; they apologized for not having anything sweet to drink in the house, but I already knew that from a story Jon had to tell years ago about that! I did accept a mug of water, though. Discussed Jon, Steph, Harmony and her parents ("she's so slim that she can eat chocolates and gelato a lot!"), work, my parents, Italy, SERVANTS, Vivian's parents, reading at the library, Megan, Eric's jersey, quasi-retirement, Wayland, Wayland's wife being named Shira, her grandchildren Joshua and Camille, U.S. geography being confusing (Wayland's in-laws live in Ohio and not right in St. Louis!), Facebook, the liquor store, and other things. It was nice to see them, although Auntie Christina thinks I've lost weight... I don't know about that!

On the way home, Eric warned me that I might not be affirmed if I didn't attend the AGM tomorrow; I wasn't planning to skip that, thanks! We discussed dogs peeing on the carpet, Chilliwack laundry and dogs, WORLD OF WARCRAFT, the possibility of Raymond wearing purple tomorrow, the "Eric H. is your favorite Ho!" joke from years ago, slamming his car door properly, Harmony and Holly still technically being Hos, the font size on his directory list, the Koodo frog, and more. When I got home, I read that the Canucks beat the Senators 6-2, and got an email from Christon saying that he'd look into the projector tomorrow. If it's at Jeremy's, I might go... of course, I will hang out a lot the next day, so I'm not sure yet. We'll see!

Dream of caves, wolf prints, and Angela Berkley crying / Nathan home for Xmas! / Coats

The only part I remember about my dream is going through a cave, and having to input complicated information about a cruise into a machine before the wolf prints went on the screen. Unfortunately, those prints went on the screen rather quickly; I was advised to just put my scanned printout from the cave into a slot so the information would be processed faster! Of course I did, but I didn't tell my mom about the advice before she went to get blueberries from the market. Then my friends and I went to meet Angela B. at a house - we were having a grand time when she grew really frustrated at some drink cups. She went into her room crying a lot, probably waking up her husband Matt! Then it ended since I woke up!

Got up a full hour and twenty minutes before my alarm; I think maybe the cold had something to do with it. When Eric called just now, he tried telling me that getting up at 2 (the time I had my alarm set for) was not "being up early." With the way things have been around here lately... YES! YES, IT IS! After calling me "Dee-Jo," he also asked if I remembered what day of the week it was, and what time our meeting was - yes, and I'm actually happy to be around people for once! Of course, I warned him that it could CHANGE - you never know with me! Says he's leaving around 2:30, and of course I had to laugh / cackle for no reason... I'm sure he'd wonder about my sanity if he didn't know that's how I am! Nathan also says he'll be back for Christmas from Dec. 13 to Jan. 5, so Chinese Eric will be happy to hear that!

Edit at 1442: Eric just called to say he's printing crap out (I don't want to know...), has the directory for me (I better bring whiteout and Sean's old folder), and will wear his shoes / jacket before heading out. I don't need that much detail, man! Hahaha! :P

You Are a Pea Coat

You are drawn to the classics. You love a look that's a little old-fashioned.

When you shop for clothes, you're quite sensible. You want styles and brands that are built to last.

You are a bit of a preppy. You act like you come from old money, even if you don't.

You are well-mannered and subtle. You stay away from flashy things and flashy people.

Feed the navy with chard and ribs! / Easy wins / Editing

High-scoring words of the early morning:

NAEVI (225 points) - against William B. [two 5W]
CHARDS (104 points) - against Michael H. [4W, hook off BA to make ABA]
RIBBY (160 points) - against Kelly M. [5W, hook off AY to make BAY]

I got another easy win in Wordscraper, since I didn't even know that Kathy Slufik and I were playing a game! Also, I thought LJ was doing some maintenance... apparently, this isn't the case. Good thing, since I had to do a lot of editing thanks to William B., Tracie A.-H., Kathy S., Rick R., Wendy T. x2, Heather H., Josh M., Jen G., Alan C., Bella H., Erin Q., and others. I need to set my alarm to get up in time to check stuff tomorrow: NOT IMPRESSED. Hey, I found my missing sock in my bed... nice!

CHINESE ERIC IS BACK IN TOWN... YAY!

Oh my goodness! I just found out that Eric Ho is back in town! I got four calls from a blocked number this afternoon and tonight; since I generally never answer those, I ignored them. Someone called me a couple of hours ago, but I didn't hear the phone because it was off. (although now it's on...) Luckily, the Caller ID showed "Erica L. Ho" (which I know is his sister's name) So I called the number back just now. After a bit of initial confusion ("Did you call this number a while ago?"), it got sorted out when she asked whether I knew her brother Eric. Now I'm talking to him on the phone, and he says he'll be permanently here - WHAT A GOOD SURPRISE! Apparently, he tried sending me an MSN message a couple weeks ago from Hong Kong, but it didn't work... I have no recollection of such a thing, so he figured it didn't actually send! Says he broke up with Gena (his mom figured she wasn't a good fit for him), and wanted to know whether I'd hooked up with any guys recently. HAHAHAHA! I also don't think that I have any dating candidates for him, unfortunately! I said that I thought he was coming back in May or June, but he says that the Hong Kong job got way too stressful; understood! He HAS been there for three years!

Says he got me the new computer for my birthday (even though he knows it's past), and can throw in some sort of converter hardware cable (which normally costs $5) for free. He said that the SONY VAIO computer (which may be a couple of years old?) was of course free for me (I actually knew that a while ago), and it's Windows 7, which he says is a stop-gap for Vista or something. "I know your computer is kind of slow, and this will make it better with 160 GB where you can do whatever you want!" I do know that Vista isn't user-friendly, according to some reviews I've read anyway. Eric says Windows 7 is much like XP, and pretty user-friendly... well, good! :P [I still wish Corey was online from Taiwan so I could figure this stuff out :P] Maybe Semagic will work correctly instead of stalling when I want to do things on there! Of course I thanked him for it, with more to come on Sunday, I'm sure! I think he said that he got it while he was in town for the Kings playoff hockey game (which white Eric told us about after the fact since he saw him there) - of course his boss wanted him to come back right away for an emergency!

Updated him briefly on my life and apartment (even though there's not much TO tell), Jon and his work with SERVANTS, Harmony, Jeremy, Steph, white Eric, Nathan MAYBE coming back from the UK for Christmas (I shot him a quick wall post while talking to Eric), Pastor John resigning, and more. He wants us all to hang out at his place on South Granville (the family's moved!) on December 18 (a Saturday), where we can watch hockey on his big-screen TV in the basement. Of course I'll let Jon and white Eric know! Then he wondered whether I'd be bored watching hockey with the guys... definitely not, since he knows I've done it before! He might not remember (and apologized for it!), but that evening does NOT sound boring! Then I told him about Jon's annual birthday extravaganza, but he doesn't know where Jeremy's is! He offered to give me a ride (his place is closer now!), and maybe even go to church that day! "It's still the same, right?" "Yeah, it's the church you went to for Jon and Harmony's wedding!" Of course, he gave me his new cell number... we talked for almost twenty minutes, even if he didn't want to take up too much of my time! NO SUCH THING HERE, even if I do appreciate the consideration! Eric still has some stuff to do (as always!), but wants to get together for dinner on Sunday evening... that works for me, even though I'll have lots of blogging to do from church and hanging out with Billie. This is definitely more important... I've missed these hangouts maybe more than I know or care to admit! :P

I also got an email from Dylan, saying "we will continue to meet at 3 PM tomorrow." HAHAHAHA! Why not say "we will STILL meet at 3 PM tomorrow" for clarity? "We will continue to meet" sounds like the Committee Meeting is an ongoing thing, man! I realize this is a grammar nitpick, but I'm famous for 'em! ;)

I'm also listening to Thin Lizzy's The Boys Are Back In Town... what a quirky coincidence!

Blogger drafts! / LJ hardware upgrades / Lady Gaga and more FB quizzes / Wishes

Holiday Wishes 2010

I like using Blogger for drafts now because Gmail can and will stall on me! Blogger hasn't done that so far, and it saves my stuff pretty regularly! Apparently, LJ will be down for two hours starting at 1 AM so they can do two hardware upgrades. I'm still awake then, so I guess I'll be Facebooking it up / doing hardcore dungeons and space adventures as I usually do these days! I also threw away some things which have been around since the Summer of Hell in 2008 - WOOHOO!

Facebook quizzes taken from Candace and Nina:

What is your Lady GaGa song? Leslie got So Happy I Could Die. Secret. The only one that has a lot of secrets. You love somebody, but you're shy to tell them. You're happy if you get something that you want. (The English on this quiz was atrocious!)

What age, time, year, month, and day will you have a baby? Leslie got Josiah. "This is baby Josiah. You will have him at age 22, and he will be born at 11:50 am on April 15. He is a sleeper, so he will sleep all night for you!" (This quiz is ten years out of date!)

Spelling Test
Leslie got Good Speller. "You did a great job! Congrats!" (Way too easy, but I can never resist a spelling test.)

What do guys see in you? GIRLS ONLY Leslie got The Special Someone. "He loves you like CRAZY! Only you don't know it. When he looks at you, he thinks of you as his angel. Don't let him go."

How cute will your baby be? Leslie got Adorable! "Amazing! Your baby is so Adorable! She will have everyone's attention! She will be gentle, smart, and caring. She will have a ton of friends. Everyone will simply adore her!"

Do You Know Texting Language? Leslie got Textaholic! :) "You are a texting genius! I shall praise you! ;)" (Not really - I abhor texting language, but this quiz was so simple even a preschooler could do it. :P)

What type of boys do you attract? Leslie got Emo Boy. "Well, what could I say? They are cool, mysterious, and good partners. They like you because you're not like the other girls. You're quiet and gothic, just the way they like it. Don't worry, they are a good lover."

Are you in love? Leslie got Not in love at all. "You are just crushing"

What phone are you? Leslie got Chocolate Touch. "Loves listening to music at all times, and also being on the Internet."

Who will you marry? Leslie got Taylor Lautner. "Taylor... not bad. He is gorgeous and all, but sometimes you doubt if he truly loves you. You match, and have vanity / values / friendship in common. :D He thinks you're amazing, but because of his line of work, he gets fed up sometimes. But don't lose hope! As long he knows you love him, he'll stand by your side. XOX. :)"

Do you know the 2010 songs? Leslie got you know nothing. "You might need to learn your lyrics." (Not surprised - I actively avoid new pop songs.)

What is your Korean name? (GIRLS ONLY) Leslie got Gi. "Can either be a boy's or girl's name; it means 'bravery and courage.' You're confident and you're brave when there's danger, although you take too many risks in life."

Should You Be Famous? Leslie got Nationally Famous! "You love traveling and having lots of people know you. You also love speaking different languages and inspiring people." (HAHAHAHAHAHA!)

What Will Your Teenage Daughter Look Like? Leslie got Mallory and Monica. "A one-of-a-kind pair of twins, they are girls that love to text. They are also the ones with boyfriends. Their favorite colors are orange and yellow."

What will you look like in anime? (girls only) Leslie got loner. "You're a person who likes to be alone, and the person who always says, 'Can we not talk about it?' But you're the cutest girl!!!"

How you look in anime? Leslie got black-haired sexy. "You're outgoing and cool; keep being you!"

What song describes you? Leslie got The Pierces, The Secret. "Trust no one. You won't ever tell anyone any of your secrets because you know that they cannot be trusted. No one can, because no one can keep a secret or a promise. The only way you'll ever tell anyone your secrets is if you can kill them afterwards. But instead of murder, why don't you just keep things to yourself for a while? 'If I show you, then I know you won't tell what I said. Coz two can keep a secret if one of them is dead.'"

How true is your best friend to you? Leslie got You have the truest of true friends!!! "Your friend is loving, loyal to you, and will be with you always! Lucky you! But there is a saying: 'True friends stab you in the front!!'"

Tomboy or Girly Girl? Leslie got TOMBOY. "You hate going shopping, and you love playing football." (I could never be a girly girl, anyway!)

What's your future? Leslie got actress. "You're a chirpy person who always makes your work friends like you. Not to mention, you will be in all the top movies! :) x"

What kind of Converse fits you? Leslie got genuine black Converse. "The black Converse is for you, high or low cut. You are sometimes a dark person, but you are really fun and adventurous. XDDD"

How is your English? Leslie got You're brilliant! "Excellent! This quiz was a breeze for you!" (Of course it was. :D)

I also made my annual Christmas card post elsewhere. I know Holiday_Wishes is starting up on Monday, also.

Wishlist

* Gift cards... I'm not picky, but like books and food-related things. Examples: Chapters, Save-On Foods, Safeway.

* Cards and postcards from anywhere. This one is self-explanatory. If you could include something about yourself or where you live, that would be super! I keep all the ones I receive.

* Stickers! Yes, I'm a kid at heart! Nothing to be ashamed of there... besides, I know more than a few little ones who would LOVE them!

* Random stuff! Surprise me! Well.... good random stuff, and not things like incendiary devices, y'know. ;)

* Books and bookmarks to go with them! I like anecdotes, humor, historical biography... almost anything, really. I love to read!

* Candy and chocolate from other countries! I like having the world arrive at my door in the form of tasty treats and stories about them.

* New LJ friends. If you think that my interests match yours (except for the joke ones), then go ahead! I like morbid stuff, lists, and more!

* A laptop bag for a 15-inch computer. My friend gave me a new laptop yesterday for free (!), and now I need a bag to go with it. Makes it less visible, for one. ;) Any tips on having the darned thing charge properly when plugged into the wall would not go amiss, either!

* Warm toques! I would prefer they not be pink or any light girly color, but anything other than that should be fine!

* For you to stay safe, and commit random acts of kindness!

Shaw passwords are annoying! / Losing a pair of socks while sleeping in them / Adjectives

I was trying to pay my Shaw bill (for the Internet and TV) since I'd just received the email notification, but I couldn't remember my password - I tried EVERYTHING! Finally, I went to Firefox and hoped the passwords were still saved in cookies; thank goodness that they were! The next step would have been trying to remember my account number, which I don't. It turns out capitalization is very important. ;)

Also, only I would manage to lose a pair of socks while sleeping in them... *sigh* Luckily, new pairs of thick socks aren't THAT relatively expensive...

You Are Peaceful

Your friends would describe you as easygoing and laid-back.

You don't like stress or conflict. You try to avoid arguments, and if forced, you'll take on the role of the peacemaker.

You are very friendly and easy to get along with. Others admire your people skills.

You are able to take almost anything in stride. You don't think getting stressed out is worth it.

No real sleep, hoodies, John and Mandy's new addresses, house oracle

So my body has apparently decided to not get any REAL sleep... lovely! At least I've found my U of T hoodie, so things should be a bit warmer? Hahaha. John A. (snooooopy) has also emailed me his new address (from West Virginia to North Carolina?!), which is good. Mandy also emailed me HER new address, although she's only moved down the street. I need the addresses for sending out the annual Christmas cards, assuming I can get out to the post office when it isn't too cold or whatever! John Mellencamp's Pink Houses just came on the radio, too - YAY FOR COINCIDENCES WITH THE QUIZ BELOW!

The person starts off with "STFU with your complaining," then adds THAT! What the hell?!

Pamphlet Dream / Cats / Late-Night TV Shows

All I remember about my dream is seeing these packages of lists in pamphlets ("50 Ways to Energize Your Family / 20 Ways to Improve Your Reading"), and watching this TV show on how this woman got pregnant at age 60! There was another TV show in the dream which my sister loved - a woman foiled shoplifters at a souvenir shop by pretending to take a nap behind some clothing, and gave them the shock of their lives when she caught them stealing merchandise and money!

Facebook quiz taken from Jennifer L.:

What type of cat are you? Leslie got Bombay. You are a black cat. You are loyal and sweet. You are always looking for someone to pet you. You can bring good luck and bad luck, and you are very talented and smart.

You Are Conan

A lot of people don't get you, but those who do get you truly love you.

You have outlandish ideas, but you always seem to know how to make them work.

You are a bit of a geek... and all the more popular for it! You are clearly comfortable in your own skin.

Vespers, serenity, disappointing your best friend, second thoughts, Jeremy, and Wendy Thomas

Randal says he can't make it to the Vesper choir thing which Jon invited us to, even if he could use the serenity; ironically, the weekend of December 5 is very hectic for him already. He's also suddenly having second thoughts about Jen's movie night, and wants her to let him think about it. (but it's his BEST FRIEND... then again, I'm surprised he didn't outright decline because it's on his holy Saturday parental duty day!) He implied that he saw POD PEOPLE with Jen - why am I not surprised? Or at least, that he viewed the Youtube link... I can hear his whiny nasal voice as I read the snippets from Gmail Notifier, too! Yikes... no need to read the actual emails, then! I said that my own attendance would be contingent on the location. However (and I didn't put this in the email), I might also be having second thoughts about it - TOO MUCH PEOPLE TIME ON THE WEEKEND, AND NOT ENOUGH BLOGGING TIME!

But YAY for Jeremy chiming in on email, saying that the episode he was thinking of at lunch today is called SPACE MUTINY! "The episode I was thinking of at lunch today is called "Space Mutiny." They also did some PSAs, and one of the best is "Last Clear Chance." The catchphrase from that PSA is "Why don't they look?" and you may have heard that phrase used in other episodes of MST3K. You can also buy the T-shirt online, apparently. I started downloading the complete collection of 198 episodes, which are 92 minutes each, according to Wikipedia. That means a true marathon would be over 300 hours long, which would take almost 13 days to watch non-stop! I'm currently watching "The Mole People" on Youtube!"

One of my Wordscraper opponents is called Wendy Thomas, which makes me think of the Dave Thomas commercials for Wendy's. Yay for quirkiness / synchronicity / coincidences!

Eric picked me up, and we started talking about scrutiny / the Canucks vs. the Red Wings (Steph bugged Pastor John about it later) / the BC Lions / Kevin getting into a car accident because of Mr. Creep / Advent / Chilliwack / the legality of people smoking in their cars / the "why are you saying what you're saying?!" look I get from him ALL THE TIME / the time change / Jen's Bad Movie Night (which I might not go to) / slamming his car door properly / French / Spanish. I was joking on Friday when I made a sad face in the elevator and said the door was sentient, haha! He says that I have no excuse to complain about people putting their Christmas lights up early when I gave him a present before Halloween... oh, do shush! When I do it, it's called planning ahead! He also thinks that I looked ready for winter and snow with my tan ski jacket and my colorful toque with a pompom - that's because the church heater was broken, and I didn't want to freeze all day! I'd told him to dress warmly, and he didn't look too warm to me!

When we got to church, I said hi to Mei Lin, and talked to Harmony about the chocolate / hazelnut / creamy nougat Toffifee. She and Jon gave me an old birthday card which featured a "saggy" joke: of course Steph chose it! I attempted to greet Jeremy, but it didn't work too well. Connie and Phil said hi; apparently, Grace's mom is only in town until Tuesday, so Grace is psychologically getting ready for this! Phil hopes his parents will help cook and such, as well. Nathan was busy trying to make "sushi" out of pink and yellow bulletins, and found amusement in a Bible verse (2) which mentioned "You dogs and mutilators of the flesh!" When Steph came in LATE, Jon tapped his wrist; apparently, Mom totally forgot about the time change and called them both at 8, thinking it was 9, then called them multiple times after that. ("why aren't they awake at 9 on Sunday morning?!") Eric said later that if she'd called me, I'd be annoyed because it was Mom: that, and I'd be trying to get things DONE in half an hour! (really an hour whether Sound / Worship day or not, but she wouldn't need to know that!) Since the lards didn't make it to church, I got to use the elevator after Sunday School again. While we did Communion, I didn't notice Mr. Creep around - good! I noted that there's a farewell lunch for Pastor John in three weeks: there go all my Sundays of downtime this month, even if they're for good causes!

I went to the fellowship hall after talking to my family about the hearts wall post: no, Eric did NOT hack into my account at 11:05 PM on Friday, even if that would be a likely time to do so, since it's after Fellowship and about the time he'd make it to my place! There were no snacks, so I gave Julie her portion of the Toffifee: apparently, her friend George is going to laugh at her! Hey, it's only three pieces and not 200! Talked to Lee about life as we watched his kids Hannah and Gavin run around, and talked to Andrew about #3 Rd. / Aberdeen / the age limit for Cubbies in Awana. I let Eric know when I was going upstairs: of course, he had to be talking to Enoch and Raymond among other people! Gave Chrystal a few mini Mars bars, bugged my sister, and asked Jen about the movie night: she left the day open, but it looks like it'll be Saturday. SO INCONVENIENT!

Said hi to William and Hien on my way up the stairs to toddler Sunday School, too. Auntie Ying said she had to leave early because her mom wanted to buy something, and Jessie was going to do the same, but didn't. Ramen, Shira, Mattias, Ada, Ashley, David, Evelyn, and a new kid named Isabel (her aunt was named Cherry) were in the class today. When I saw something in Ashley's hair, I told her to stay close to me. She shook her head and said "no," but I said that I had to get that fluff out. Later, she was walking around with a toy and singing the alphabet song along with it - how cute! Frances came in, looking for a bag - her son Micah wanted to stay and play with the toys, haha! Shira tugged on my arm a few times, Jessica carried Mattias in (who loved the toys), Isabel liked my colorful toque, and Ramen tried out the doctor toys on me. Rachel's grandma helped the kids with the alphabet, while Jessie helped with the stickers. Rachel herself came in later (followed by Ashley's brother Jonathan), telling me about all these prizes she got from a piñata. "Pencils and a glow rock! I love these fuzzy foot stickers - I have a big fuzzy dolphin sticker at home! My pockets are full! Nicholas didn't want his... I went in and took some more, and the teacher didn't even know!" Probably did, but I didn't say!

By the time I got downstairs, people were standing around trying to decide what to do for lunch. Said bye to Adam, Nina, and Conor on the way out: when we got to the car (we had to give Christon and Enoch a ride...), Conor saw us from his parents' car, so he yelled "BYE AGAIN!" Jon decided to run out in the road and impress the kid with a weird face. I asked him what sort of example he was setting for the kids, while Eric said "Running into the road?" Yes, quite! We were going to go to Sushi Garden, but it was PACKED! Christon reserved a table at Beefy Beef, but we almost didn't get our reserved table because of crazy traffic! We got there ten minutes "late," and there was a bunch of people waiting! (Jeremy beat us there on his bike!) On the way over, I had to listen to a boring discussion about engineering / Master of Divinity studies and cost / fusion. Thanks, new-ish person... *sigh*

At the restaurant, Jeremy and I were both in the mood for bubble tea - I got an almond, while he got a chocolate milk tea. Dianne says she stayed up twice last night: once till 2 original time, then the clock went back, so she stayed up till 2 again. Randal, Jen, Jon, Harmony, Christon, Enoch, Dianne, and Eric missed out on Jeremy's PUMA MAN 1970s porn music soundtrack" context. All they heard was Jeremy asking Jen if she'd seen any 1970s porn, hahaha! We discussed borrowing a projector from the church, Jon getting sidetracked by buying a 32-pound bag of brown rice (which apparently wasn't even on sale), Jen's inconvenient movie night, MANOS with MST3K commentary, WARRIOR OF THE LOST WORLD, TROLL 2, comedy vs. horror, spicy chile peppers / seeds getting into your fingernail and up your nose, Pho names, and more. Dianne wanted the food to come FAST (it did!) since she was hungry and had lots of homework to do, and we'd already been delayed at least half an hour. I wanted it to come fast since I was concerned about catching up / blogging / my hermit ways / Enoch, who might be coming to movie night!

Thankfully, Eric and I didn't have to drive anyone anywhere after lunch! He thinks I'm being reclusive, while I just think that he should also enjoy solitude since he's an introvert! Solitude does recharge him, he says, but he also embraces social interaction. Like I go for ZERO social interaction?! "If we go out for lunch, you have more blogging material!" Yes, but it's the writing which takes up some time - well worth it, though! Talked about random things on the way home as well, like the sunny weather (sunglasses!) and my apparently not liking to be around people. I don't fear Randal, but I don't want to know certain things! At home, Candy got on FB chat to say that she had a new address - I'll PM her when I get around to it! I also noticed that Emily Lam has deleted her FB account, like her brother Joey did a while back. HMM!

Robot pony (not Robot Chicken!) / Smoke and warrens in a dream / Life / Movies

High-scoring words of the morning:

ROBOTS (175 points) - against Shelley R.-B. [5W, 5L on B]
PONY (281 points) - against Shelley V. [5W - one used twice, hook off AR to make PAR]

Had a weird dream where my mom blew smoke in my face as a precautionary tale against smoking. Yet we saw Pastor Glen and his wife Lillian smoking outside a tree hollow which had a whole warren of rooms (including a cafeteria) inside! Grandma and Dad were talking about stuff, Jon could play the piano simply by giving it one or two notes to start an amazing riff or song (the resident black musician was floored by this), and we were reading about some kid in sports who had a dozen various names by the time he was in Grade 10! (Nick, Buster, Matt, etc.) Crazy stuff, and I'm not sure why I had it!

One hour of extra sleep is AMAZING! Also, I am taking my own advice to Eric: yes, I am wearing two layers of clothing because I assume the church heater is still broken! Eric just called, too... good timing, since I have JUST finished doing the dishes, which include the glass Pyrex container. No, I don't want to drop that!

Facebook quizzes taken from Jessica G. and Andrew:

What 2010 movie are you? Leslie got The A-Team. You're tough and you're courageous, which is why people look up to you. There's some great physical attributes in you, and you have an athletic ability. You're not afraid of fighting back, and you're also pretty funny.

So not accurate!

Quiz: How dirty-minded are you?
Results: Just dirty. You have much better things to do, but the thought is still there.

It's likely that you still feel a bit bored or unmotivated from time to time. You sometimes lose track of your mission.

Remind yourself why you're doing what you're doing. Sometimes you need to step back to remember what your life's purpose is.

Double wins! / You're supposed to be an INTROVERT! / Light / Grammys

The Canucks won 6-4 over the Detroit Red Wings tonight! I heard that the BC Lions won over the Eskimos tonight, so Eric will be happy for a playoff berth. (six out of eight teams!) He is also game for Jen's "bad movie night" next weekend, which actually is good if I decide to go (not on Saturday!) since I won't have to transit home. That would be a bit difficult without a bus pass, yikes!

Eric just called, but I had to finish my thoughts here first before calling him back. "What are you not doing at Fellowship? It's Friday!" Ha ha ha, very funny... NOT! He called to let me know that tomorrow is Sunday (yes, I know) and that he's doing sound. Good thing I saved half my rice for the morning, then! I asked him whether he were nuts for wanting to spend even more time with people (he's supposed to be an introvert!), and he said I didn't have to go. Well, I said it would be okay if I went now since he'd be my ride home. Then I advised him to dress warmly because the church heater is broken, and he asked what I did to it! After a pause, I called him VERY insane and said I'd see him tomorrow... we both said bye after that! I've taken another sleeping pill, so we'll see how effective THAT is at getting me to sleep before 4 AM! :P

Facebook quiz taken from Hannah W. and Quan:

Which of the 7 elements are you? Leslie got Light. You are pure. A person of good intentions. A protector. You care greatly for those around you, and will try your best to keep them safe. People tend to want to be around you; you radiate good emotions, and are good at making others happy.
