Earlier tonight, my friend Candy wanted to call me, and really got my attention by sending me a bunch of emoticons over MSN. I told her to give me time to wrap up a couple of conversations with Corey and Steve L. first. (I hadn't talked to Steve in a long while... it's a good thing for her that he decided to cruise off and get some work done at around that time!)
Note to self:
Doctor Who is on Tuesdays at 8 on CBC. Steve gave me a not-so-polite reminder to watch it a while ago, but that didn't bother me at all. He's one of my favorite people. :)
She gave me advice about my romantic life, even going so far as to say that she'd done a tarot card reading for me (she IS pagan, but I respect that) which said that I'd find love, but not trust it. Sounds about right so far... she also said that she didn't see me with a Chinese man since I'm not traditional. My crushes haven't all been on Chinese boys, this much is true. Heck, they've not been on Chinese guys since maybe ten years ago! ;) This really impacted me:
"Find a man who accepts you for who you are, and who won't take away your self-esteem. They don't call me the Guard Bird or Mother Hen for nothing. I worry about you a lot, as a friend. I've defended you to my sister and others like Steve and Carol, because that's just who you are! Everyone reads your ramblings now! The things your mother says... you don't PRAY for a boyfriend, because love just finds you! Do you think I was looking for love when I found George? It hit me like a two-by-four! Maybe you'll find someone on the cruise... that would be romantic!" She's jealous that I'm going on the cruise WITH MY PARENTS since she's still holding a grudge about last August, when I was actually in her area and my parents wouldn't let me go meet her in person. She wants me to take a bus trip over to St. Catharines this summer to meet her, her husband, her racetrack friends, her music friends, and maybe her mother. (who also wants to meet me for some reason) I don't know about that, but we will see! At least I'm not sharing a room with my parents on the cruise... five people in one room would be rather difficult. I told her this, and she responded that she'd light candles for me if I
was sharing a room with my parents! She did plenty of venting about my parents: she read those quotes I posted earlier, and thought that her own mother would have been SO dead if she'd tried any of that with her! From what I know, she's right!
She wants me to actually send her the postcards from Alaska for the stamps: the last time I sent her postcards (from the Maritimes), I sent them as part of a package. I think I should have got more US money and less Canadian money out of the bank on Wednesday afternoon... oh well. :P She also wants me to bring my disposable cameras and get the developers to hand-inspect the film / put the photos on CDs for both of us. (she'll do something with them on the forum) Apparently, X-raying the film does something to it that screws it up. She also wants me to call her when I get back from the cruise, and not just post it on the forum. I knew that extra phone card would come in handy.... let's hope it hasn't expired yet or anything, hahaha.
It was an unexpected (but good!) phone call, for sure! With all that written, I guess it IS time to pack... no, I still have not done that yet. Good thing I don't have to pack much?
Speaking of tarot cards....
I am The World The World represents the moments when we feel fulfilled and blessed, and all that goes into them. It is a very positive sign that you are in a position to realize your heart's desire. What that is for you depends on the situation, but it will always feel great. Remember, though, that Card 21 is a symbol of active contribution and service. To hold the World in our hands, we must give of ourselves to it. That is the source of true happiness. For a full description of your card and other goodies, please visit LearnTarot.com
