Dragon tails, mouse ears, making dinner of what's around, new comment stats meme not working

Sam and his brother Jeremy picked me up today, albeit a little late, but that was fine with me. At least Sam and I weren't the only ones not at the Awana lunch thing, haha. A bunch of us tried on costumes like a dragon tail and mouse ears: Alysia wanted Chris to try on some ballet tutu so she could take a picture of it to show his girlfriend Sabrina, but he wouldn't. Apparently, the kids all have to dress up as animals or plants for the Dec. 10 Christmas concert... should be interesting, kinda.

Auntie Rebecca REALLY wants Jon to play at the concert, even though he'll presumably be back earlier that day... I guess we'll see whether he's up for being an extra violinist or whatever! I had the dinner of champions while waiting for her to finish practicing with the kids: peach juice, two Chinese crackers, water, Chinese cakes, pretzels, a mini sponge cake, fruit candy, a cream puff, and a caramel. Now that I'm home, I'll top that off with the remains of my fajita beef soup since I'm really not that hungry.

Now, if only I can get this comments stats thing to work... seems simple enough... but it freezes on me ALL the time! Blah. :P

#1 Go to this page and select View Source in your browser (you must View Source or else it will not get the proper contents! You can do this in Internet Explorer by right-clicking and selecting "View Source" or in Firefox by selecting "View Page Source").

#2 Copy what you see and paste it into your favorite plain-text editor. Microsoft Word and Wordpad are NOT plain-text editors; Notepad is. Save it to a place where you will be able to find it.

#3 Next to the file box below, select "Browse" and find the file you just saved. After this, hit "Get stats."

Edit: Never mind. It's for Mac / Linux users. *is a ditz*

P.S. AIM will be lonely this week. =/

P.P.S. Julie (julie709) got my card and postcard! :D

Pop-top gadget and cards

Marie's pop-top gadget worked successfully on the can of fajita beef soup that I had in the cupboard after some maneuvering... yay! :D Now I have to tell her... that is, if I don't get distracted by other shiny stuff on the message board. ;) (I can try chicken sausage gumbo Chunky Soup in future!)

Rachel B. (cynicalsiren) and Candy also got their cards from me in the past couple of days, too! Yayness all around for now! That's two more out of 38. (40 if you count the two birthday cards) Total received from the stuff I mailed out or plan to mail out: 8 out of 40. Not bad... yes, I keep lists! :D

Gotta eat this soup before Sam gets here at 3:15... see ya kiddies later! *waves and disappears*

Rides, Received Cards, Questions 501-550 of 5000, Quizzes

Since LJ is up again after moving servers, I may as well update. I tried going to bed earlier than usual tonight, at around 1. Getting more sleep that way doesn't work for me... I think I need to invest in Nyquil / alcohol, or do more physical exercise. :P

I called Sam earlier: he has a ton of papers to do, so won't be going to that appreciation lunch thing... 3:15 works for me as long as I get a ride! (if I don't sleep in horribly, that is...) Hey, I took the Intellectual Sexiness Test as well. :D

A few people have already received my Christmas cards, or at least let me know that they did: Shannon (tearfulgoodbyes), Natalie (chibi_blackie), Kira (kazulanth), Brynn (irishvampire13), and Darren (dfrancis)... he gets a bonus birthday card! Yeah, I'm ahead of schedule... but since I had a bunch of stuff to mail ANYHOW, why not bung it in with the rest? I'm practical, if not completely sane. ;)

Laziness enabled with extra turkeys... whee!

Eric M. got on MSN earlier to say that he was feeling tired, so wouldn't be going to Fellowship tonight. That was fine with me... he's enabling me in my laziness, heh. I also explained last week to him: kinda strange David didn't invite him to the banquet since he was in one of his Bible Study groups, but oh well. At least this isn't like a few weeks ago when he was going to the 54-40 concert: I told my sister about it, so after some calling around between her and Jessica, she gave me a ride.

Corey got on AIM to say that he'd just torn a phone book in half, and is making progress on his grippers too. He also mentioned he was missing the Children of Bodom show in favor of getting ready for the trip. A while later, he asked whether I'd need a turkey since UPS just delivered one to their door courtesy of the guy handling his grandma's investments. (his parents thought that guy was a jerk, but maybe he gets away with it by giving away turkeys to people) Good thing they got it before they left for Texas: they DO have someone taking care of things while they're away, but it came in a styrofoam cooler wrapped in plastic... so who knows whether that would have gone into the freezer (as planned) or not.

What a deal... Thanksgiving dinner in another state that takes two days to cross, and still enough turkey when they get home afterwards! Corey has to be up at 7 AM tomorrow... that time does not exist in either of our worlds, so it's going to be very weird sleeping at night and not sleeping in during the day. Speaking of such, I need to get my sleeping schedule to a reasonable time... there's apparently a pre-Awana thing tomorrow at 2 (will I get up in time, given the last week?!) that takes the place of the leadership dinner. We'll see if Auntie Rebecca can give me a ride home, since Sam's doing Floodlight. o_O *is not a fan of waiting around at the church, or of taking buses home in the dark*

Thanks, Eric! You just gave me extra hours to do stuff! :D

Corey's Gothic Theatre hangouts, Questions 451-500 of 5000, quizzes

Right now, Corey's trying to convince me to hang out with him in Fort Collins this weekend so I can go see the Children of Bodom / Trivium / Amon Amarth show at the Gothic Theatre with him and a female friend. I probably wouldn't mind that: too bad I can't just up and go! (well, I could.. but there are obligations weighing heavily upon me :P)

Of course, it's no GWAR... which he'll miss on both ends of his week-long Texas trip to see his grandparents from Nov. 19 to 27.. he warned me that I'd better miss his messing around with me. (example: "there sure is a lot of sex in these games you listen to... I for one find it to be highly inappropriate... and I'm going to keep pretending that scoring means sex!") Sure, why not... he IS like Eric M., after all. ;)

Having body parts fall asleep on you is no picnic, either.

Got these questions from this QuestionClub LJ post by Arthurbulla. I'm going to post the survey in 50-question batches, like the original. No worries there! Five thousand questions and answers wouldn't fit as an entry, anyhow. :P

The only complete copy... you'll have to go around erasing answers.

452. Would you rather have a strict teacher with a sense of humor, or a lenient teacher that doesn't teach? A strict teacher with a sense of humor.

456. What do guys look for in a girl, or if you are a girl, what do you think they look for? Certain favorable physical attributes, sense of humor, and a quiet demeanor.

458. Are you more spontaneous and unpredictable, or loyal and routine? Depends what situation I find myself in.

There goes the streak of not losing in the Staples Centre since Dec. 13, 2001...

The Canucks' power play was good last night, but it wasn't great tonight. They hadn't lost in the Staples Centre (the L.A. Kings' rink) since Dec. 13, 2001. Tonight, the Kings had two goals in 53 seconds in the first period from Lubomir Visnovsky... both were power-play goals: the first with a two-man advantage, and the second on a one-man advantage. In the third, the Kings had two goals in 16 seconds from Jeff Cowan and Craig Conroy. After that, it was time for a Vancouver goaltending change from Cloutier to Auld. I think we had way too many penalties, although at least with these new rules, you can't have the game in the bag at the end of the second period. Naslund had back-to-back goals (and went for a hat trick) in the third period after Bertuzzi scored in the third, but it was too little too late. Now they're 12-6-2 at the 20-game mark of the season. When is this Canucks team going to play 60 minutes of hockey? They certainly dug themselves an awful hole early on... by Shorty's count, they've had six wake-up calls in the first quarter of the season so far! o_O

Pavol Demitra had three assists tonight, in this game where the coaches are actually good friends: Marc Crawford wanted to bring Andy Murray into Vancouver as an assistant coach or an associate head coach. The badly-sung national anthem included an "ai-yi-yi," which was pretty painful in itself... the worst ever! Three stars of the game: Alexander Frolov, Visnovsky, and Naslund. The Florida Panthers now have a 10-game losing streak. Next game is Sunday at the Arrowhead Pond at 1... the first of only two afternoon games for Vancouver all year. (we don't even PLAY an Eastern Conference team till next month!)

Vancouver vs. Calgary, cards, blogs, inconvenient illness, dreams, designer jeans

If Kyle wants Vancouver things that aren't like what he'd get in Calgary, I'd have to go to Aberdeen and Yaohan. Asian imports rule, haha.

I wrote Christmas cards to Haley (haleyxcore) and Stephanie (pandorabox82) today.. I'll need to get more US stamps from the post office soon. David (omni_sinrilus) wants a birthday card, so I'll get on that too when I'm able to go out again next week. Also caught up on Dawn, Dave, Jon, Vivian, Spoz, and Steph's blogs.. good reading!

I've finally found out why my worker hasn't been around for the past two weeks.. he's been ill. Now, I know he had to have a chest X-Ray done a while back... but c'mon! I need to get various things done with him, such as MOVING PREP. Oh well, it's better that he's resting now.. heh heh.

Try not to hit the walls or the blue blocks! I made it to 55 seconds.

All my dreams this week have started out as being set at church. There was the one on Sunday with Sam, Joey, Erin, Vanessa, Steph, Eric, and a bunch of other church friends sitting around in a big group outside somewhere. Then there was the one on Monday in which I was involved in a very fast-paced stressful Awana: four pieces of paperwork to fill out for each kid who came, plus money reckonings for their dues. (it's not normally like that, believe me!)

Tuesday, I dreamed of the Fellowship interacting with people from Our Place: I think we decided Viper (or his snake avatar) tasted like chicken, haha.

Last night, a bunch of people were at church for a Christmas / winter thing.. then it turned into a couple in a car where the girl was in pain and the guy was trying to comfort her with hugs. The guy slammed into a slab of wood in the middle of the road that kids were using to jump over on skateboards, and then it turned into a Little Women scenario where the Beth character looked like she was going to die from a high fever!

I don't know... methinks this is like Dylan's dream one Saturday where he saw a cross with an arrow pointing to it. He wasn't feeling well and was going to skip church the next day, but afterwards figured that he should go. There IS the Canucks game versus Anaheim at 1, which brings back to mind that conversation with Eric H. about the conflict between being a sports fan and a churchgoer. I guess I can always go home with Eric M. on Sunday, haha. (because my parents always take a long time, and we probably won't get home till MAYBE post-game or the third period if we're lucky!)

Beavis + Butthead / The Canucks finally have their first short-handed goal of the 2005-2006 season!

An ode to Beavis and Butthead that Kyle found. :D

The Canucks won 3-1 over the Sharks tonight: Park, Jovanovski (all of his five goals have come on the power play... that was his 300th career point!), and Carter were the goal-scorers for us. Jonathan Cheechoo played for the Sharks.. I remember when people proposed a line of Jonathan Cheechoo, Jordan Tootoo and Tuomo Ruutu. Hmm... "Cheechoo-Tootoo-Ruutu" has got to be a tongue-twister! *laugh*

Our defense had a strong game, with being physical and moving pucks well. Both Salo and Cheechoo had disallowed goals, too. There was a 6-on-3 situation at the very end of the game, but we exhibited great penalty killing. We finally had our first short-handed goal of the season, albeit in a dead building while playing the most unentertaining game ever! Starting off a road trip with a win is great! The three stars were Ohlund, Jovanovski, and Marcel Goc (pronounced "gosh") of the Sharks. (now there's an alarm going off where they're talking about the game... eep!)

Next game is tomorrow at 7:30 in the Staples Centre against the Los Angeles Kings. (tonight's game was in the HP Pavillion Shark Tank... corporate sponsorship, anyone?)

Calgary won their eighth in a row, and St. Louis finally snapped their franchise record 11-game losing streak when they won 2-0 against the Columbus Blue Jackets in a battle of the two worst NHL teams.

Galloglass, Dragons, Friendship, Hunter S. Thompson, Love / Like Meme

I've been playing Bookworm on and off this afternoon so far.. might get to reading, even if that DOES make me a "nerdy bookworm" in the eyes of certain people who love messing around with me every time we talk. :P

I also wrote a few Christmas cards to Courtney (bjornskjold), Amy (amy_star_), April (angeldrummer7), Janet (applebastic), and Carmina from Spain (on_the_ground) today. Most of these were as part of holiday_wishes at LJ. :D

I really want something with a dragon on it for Christmas. :D

Something like this Galloglass (symphonic metal like Dragonlord, Nightwish and Shadowlord) wallpaper would be nice!

Candy found it at The Beat Goes On, a used CD store (that place is very dangerous), but hasn't found another copy since. I know she loves her symphonic metal, too. It's an import, since the band's from Germany.

They have another CD that was released that she did NOT know about:

22/09/2005 – GALLOGLASS set release date for Heavenseeker
German powermetallers GALLOGLASS have set the 28th October (via Limb Music Products) as the release date of their new album Heavenseeker, of which you can find more info (cover, guest musicians, ...) at this location. There are also some samples available at the Downloads page.

Heavenseeker tracklisting:

01. Burden of Grief
02. After Forever
03. Perished in Flames
04. Dawn of a new Age
05. Banished from Eternity
06. At the Shadowcross
07. To kneel is to suffer
08. Heavenseeker
09. Signs
10. Beyond the Mirror
11. Kings who die
13. Golden Years (Bonus Track)
14. Fragments (Bonus Track)

Heavenseeker is the band's second album and the follow-up to 2003's Legends From Now And Nevermore. The album will also be released as limited CD / DVD edition, and contains two bonus tracks and an additional DVD with over 100 minutes of video material: a complete live concert, the making of Heavenseeker, and more.

Check out the cover:

The following is stolen from Jeremy and Ruben:

A friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of the best things you can be.

"People who love each other fully and truly are the happiest people in the world. They may have little, they may have nothing, but they are happy people. Everything depends on how we love one another."

You meet people for a reason...

One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class walking home from school.

His name was Kyle.

It looked like he was carrying all of his books.

I thought to myself, "Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd."

I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends the next afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on. As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up, and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes.

My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him and as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye.

As I handed him his glasses, I said: "Those guys are jerks. They really should get lives." He looked at me and said, "Hey thanks!" There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude.

I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before now.

I would have never hung out with a private school kid before. We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends. He said yes.

We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him. Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again. I stopped him and said, "Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books every day!" He just laughed and handed me half the books.

Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends. When we were seniors, we began to think about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown, and I was going to Duke. I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem. He was going to be a doctor, and I was going for business on a football scholarship.

Kyle was valedictorian of our class. I teased him all the time about being a nerd. He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak.

Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses. He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him. Boy, sometimes I was jealous.

Today was one of those days. I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said: "Hey, big guy, you'll be great!" He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled. "Thanks," he said.

As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began.... "Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach... but mostly your friends... I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. I am going to tell you a story."

I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met. He had planned to kill himself over the
weekend.

He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his mom wouldn't have to do it later, and was carrying his stuff home. He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile. "Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable."

I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment. I saw his Mom and Dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile. Not until that moment did I realize its depth.

Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture, you can change a person's life. For better or for worse. God puts us all in each other's lives to impact one another in some way. Look for God in others.

You now have two choices. You can:

1) Repost this

or

2) Disregard it and act like it didn't touch your heart.

As you can see, I took choice number 1.

"Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly."

There is no beginning or end. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is mystery. Today is a gift.

Hunter S. Thompson (the creator of gonzo journalism) killed himself a while ago (Feb 21st, 2005)... it sucks he is dead because he wrote amazing books, and wrote the book and movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

His last wishes were so amazing: He wanted his ashes to be blown into the sky in the form of FIREWORKS. How amazing is that... I wish I was there, just to bask in the glory.

More info here.

Here are some awesome quotes he said / wrote:

"I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me."

"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro."

"I have a theory that the truth is never told during the nine-to-five hours."

"The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side."

"Every now and then when your life gets complicated and the weasels start closing in, the only cure is to load up on heinous chemicals and then drive like a bastard from Hollywood to Las Vegas... with the music at top volume and at least a pint of ether."

"A cap of good acid costs five dollars and for that, you can hear the Universal Symphony with God singing solo and the Holy Ghost on drums."

Quirky "Your" Image / Questions 351-400 of 5000

I've been busily finding / installing Firefox extensions, since the only one I had was the Tabbrowsing which Eric M. installed for me that time he came over after Fellowship to see what was wrong with Firefox.

I also looked for that penis cake picture earlier, and it's GONE! I *knew* I should have Photobucketed it when I had the chance! Argh!

Here's another quirky "Your" image, thanks to THINGEE in THE QUESTION CLUB:

Lime, waterplant, mandarin, cinnamint, crystal mint, paradise fresh, and more...

I had to get certain products (including strawberries and cream shampoo) earlier today, plus at least one pop-top (Chunky Fajita Beef) soup can so I can test the pop-top gadget later. After that, I got some cinnamint / crystal mint / paradise fresh Colgate Luminous toothpaste... I was attracted by the shiny jewel on the package, heh. The cashier wondered why they didn't just make regular toothpaste anymore... she'd tried lemon toothpaste before, and that was gross. Gourmet toothpaste can be really expensive, too!

I also got some tomato soup, plus some brand new Fa body wash (the wild freshness!) with refreshing lime / vitalizing waterplant / inspiring mandarin extracts and Hydroxygen Complex. (three separate flavors, not all in one :P ) Since I can't seem to find a picture of them online, I'll just forget about that.

Human Paladin

f-human.jpgpaladin.jpg

Humans tend to be the ones in the middle. Not as sexy as the Night Elves; not as stumpy as the dwarves or gnomes. As a human, you pretty much go with the flow of things.

As a paladin, you like to see that everyone is safe - including yourself. Still an important part of any group... if you get overshadowed, you can always refuse to give them your blessing.

Bookworm high score

I got lucky tonight! No, not in that way... what are you all, a bunch of pervs? (Peanut gallery: "Yes, and proud of it!" Me: "AIYA!")

After playing Text Twist for a while, I got tired of it. So I decided to try Bookworm, and surpassed my previous high score. Now I'm a Level 11 Grand Archivist and my new high score is 279,610... some of that was due to EXTREME good luck in letter tile placing, and thinking of words made up of the connected tiles! (it's impossible to cheat at this one, Andrew! :P)

Time to update my cool online games post! :D

Text Twist

This morning, I got a free SP2 CD in the mail from Microsoft... someone had recommended that people order one a while ago from this site. "Especially if you are on dial up, you really need to order a copy of SP2. If the day comes that you crash and have to start over, you'll wish you had it. Even on a faster connection, it's a good thing to have handy so you can install it before connecting to the internet. An unprotected computer will, on average, be infected with something within 20 minutes of connecting to the internet. This is based on just being connected... you don't even have to go to any web pages."

I also got Marie's pop-top gadget thinger in the mail too. Now I'll have to buy Primo or Chunky Soup one of these days so I can try it out to see if it works on the can tabs. At least this thing comes with detailed visual instructions that I can keep, which is what works best for me! :D

I'm also glad that a certain package I sent to England made it there in time. No love for the mail people there, though!

I'm bored. I'll play Text Twist all night.... with or without the help of the Internet Anagram Server. ;)

Since I don't have to worry about others closing windows accidentally (but me), maybe I'll exceed this high score: 314,720 posted on 16 June 2005. (a Thursday)

Who wants to play too?

Besides, this helps with Blogger's latest announcement: "We are planning a two hour outage this evening from 9 PM to 11 PM PST. This is to complete the network maintenance we've been performing over the last several weeks." They might be out till later than that time, too... it's been known to happen. :P

New Yorkers unimpressed with visit by Royals

NEW YORK (UPI) -- U.S. residents are apparently greeting Britain's Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall with one big collective yawn.

A Gallup poll of 1,008 U.S. residents published in USA Today indicated 59 percent could care less Charles and Camilla began their eight-day U.S. tour Tuesday. Only 6 percent described themselves as very interested in the visit.

The Miami Herald referred to the newlyweds as "middle-aged, earnest eccentrics" while People magazine called Charles "that chap with the kilts and all those big homes," the Times of London reported.

Several hundred people greeted the royal couple in New York where they dedicated a memorial garden to British victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, CBS News reported.

During the next week, the prince and duchess are scheduled to meet with hurricane victims in New Orleans / homeless people in San Francisco / President Bush at the White House.

Pharmacists stockpiling Viagra for Ramadan's conclusion

CAIRO (UPI) -- Based on experience, pharmacists in the Middle East are stockpiling supplies of Viagra for this week's conclusion of the Muslim religious month of Ramadan.

The month of fasting will conclude after sunset Thursday, launching the festival of Eid, where family and friends gather to pray, eat, and celebrate purification.

But a modern twist to Eid has seen the demand triple for the prescription erectile dysfunction drug Viagra, the Albawaba news agency said.

"We have noticed the increase in Viagra sales over the last few years, and this year we plan to have extra stocks," said one Cairo pharmacist.

Dr. Ahmed El Hakim, Pfizer's Middle East Director of Health Policy, said the phenomenon is not unique to the Arab world.

"The rise in demand for Viagra during Eid reflects a worldwide trend for increased Viagra sales during holiday periods and festivals," Hakim said. "There are similar patterns in Christian countries over Christmas."

Study finds less television equals less weight

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (UPI) -- A Brown University study says spending less time before the television not only helps reduce weight, but also keeps it off.

The study based on a group of 5,000 people who had lost an average of 73 pounds and kept off at least 30 of them for more than six years found that most watch fewer than 10 hours of TV a week, reports USA Today.

That's much less than the national average of 28 hours a week, says lead researcher Suzanne Phelan.

The findings were presented at a meeting of the Obesity Society in Vancouver, Canada.

In another study presented at the meeting, Nanette Stroebele of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center said it is important for parents to set a good fitness example for children.

Her recommendations include parking two blocks from school and walking, which is equal to 400 steps, playing a game of soccer (8,000 to 10,000 steps), playing nine holes of golf with no cart (8,000 steps), limiting calories to an average of about 1,800 a day, and consuming a relatively low-fat diet.

Pennsylvania considering snake roundups

HARRISBURG, Pa. (UPI) -- Pennsylvania is considering new limits on rattlesnake and copperhead roundups.

Under current regulations, wild snakes caught for roundups must be returned to the place they were found. Timber rattlesnakes and copperheads used for sacking contests -- in which contestants try to stuff as many as possible into a bag -- must be imported from out of state.

There also are sacking contests for non-venomous snakes, but it's the prospect of a bite from a pit viper that draws the crowds.

The Lancaster New Era reports the proposed changes would raise permit fees, cut catch limits, and ban the capture of female rattlesnakes and all males under 42 inches.

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission also wants to ban the use of any species native to the state, imported or not, in sacking contests, although non-native species could be brought in for the purpose.

Dave McFadden, who puts roundups on around the state, says they teach the public to appreciate snakes. "The people who oppose these hunts would balk at a lightning bug-catching contest," he said.

Herpetologist Jack Hubley says the roundups teach "all the wrong lessons" about snakes.

Bertuzzi had a hat trick! / Quizzes / Questions 251-300 of 5000

We played the Detroit Red Wings tonight, and came away with a 4-1 win while handing them their first road loss of the season... Bertuzzi had his fourth career hat trick, which is when you score three goals in a game and then all the fans throw hats onto the ice. (at least it's not octopi!) The three stars were Bertuzzi, Baumgartner, and Cloutier in his first game back from that concussion. Maybe this is the game Bertuzzi needs, heh. :D We managed to bounce back from that horrible Colorado game too, which is nice!

Oh, and I just banned someone from a community for the first time. Yay! :D

Kindness

Kindness is most important in a boyfriend / girlfriend. You want someone who will go through everything with you - the best moments and the worst, and all of those other moments in between. You love to be able to say anything to your partner, and have them say anything to you. You are able to be extremely close with your partner for that reason.
