Addicted to gasoline / AUSTIN POWERS

After talking to James about stuff, I watched several episodes of HOARDERS: BURIED ALIVE and a MY STRANGE ADDICTION show about a girl who's addicted to drinking gasoline, and a black girl who's addicted to carrying her doll head around wherever she goes AND smelling it. A different episode: a guy has a committed relationship with his car ("our favorite song is REO Speedwagon's CAN'T FIGHT THIS FEELING!"), and a black woman is addicted to snorting baby powder.

EWWW! I just saw the preview for the season finale next week: A girl is addicted to drinking urine, and even uses it to brush her teeth! Watched AUSTIN POWERS: INTERNATIONAL MAN OF MYSTERY, too. That just brought back a ton of memories from when my sibs and I watched it, possibly at Justin's. MEOW MIX AND HORNINESS! The movie ended at the right time, as Mom's recording of THE GOOD WIFE started at 10. Took the garbage and recycling out, too.

Just a simple clothesline! / Aunt popularity

Figures that a lot of people (Kitty, Candy, Megan, Laura, Scott M., Ellen C., Ellen W., Dorna, Angela S., Chris H., Debbie, Katrina, Nathan, Fidela, Alice, Andrew L., Julie S., Susan, Jamie, Jeff, Farrah, Sarah G., Teunis, Kaitlin, and Priscilla W.) would "Facebook like" / comment on my status about becoming an aunt!

Dream about high-maintenance strangers falling into a hole / COOKIES!

I had a weird dream which at first involved my working at a telephone company, making a bunch of calls. When we got our checks, I had $59,015 on a yellow cheque while Tim (lackofendorphin) had $150,023 on a really red and green cheque! When my mom saw these, she immediately compared the amount; she scolded me for not working as hard, even though Tim and I both told her that we DID work the same hours and such! I was off to join white Eric and some others for a sunny day in the park after I picked up some blue-and-white stamps, anyhow! He picked me up, and warned me that we'd have to pick a stranger up as well - I was okay with that since he'd said something about it. When we did pick this person up, she said that she liked wearing white to accentuate her blonde hair - we could tell from her outfit! After a while, this person also proved to be high-maintenance, wanting Eric to turn down the heat in the car when there was this wonderful invention called THE WINDOW which she could adjust to suit her needs!

Ignoring her since it was also rather sunny outside, I asked Eric how he happened to have the car, knowing that his dad also wanted it. He said that Ron had picked the car up to run errands, then driven it back to where it was originally! We couldn't really ignore our passenger anymore when she made her way to the front seat - we warned her that she'd cause an accident, but she wanted us to KNOW she wouldn't be frozen out of any conversation! Eventually, we stopped at a traffic light; she threw a royal fit, telling us that she wouldn't be in the car any longer. True to her word, she opened her door and left - after some shocked moments, Eric also left the car to see where she went!

I was worried since the light WOULD change at some point; just when I was about to yell out the window for him to come back (I didn't care about HER), he came back... just in time to avoid a lecture from Citrus on duty! We noticed a huge hole in the road up ahead; Randal and others were busy trying to erect barriers around it so people wouldn't fall in. Apparently, it was too late - our erstwhile passenger, David Wong, James and Sanne's kids Jenna and Saskia, Fidela, and others had already fallen in. I was most concerned about the kids and Fidela, but they seemed to be okay once we'd rescued them! David Wong said that he was a liar and didn't deserve any stamps I gave him! No idea why I had that dream... CRAZY STUFF! When I got up, I discovered that New Jersey / North Dakota / Sports Chek had all tried to call me... THIS IS WHY I TURN MY PHONE OFF! Flora L. also added me to Facebook, finally - YES! Hahahaha! She apparently shares my sister and Natalie's birthday - NICE! *thumbs up*

Onloading and enjoining Fidela / HARRY POTTER wands / GIANT

High-scoring words of the night:

ONLOADED (112 points) - against Yvette B. [4W, 2W]
ENJOIN (150 points) - against Angela V. [5W, 2W]

Fidela's added me back on Facebook - cool stuff! But someone named Joe Guy tried adding me on there; I DON'T THINK SO! I also finished prepping 147 Christmas cards, ten Olympics postcards, and 101 Vancouver postcards; that's a LOT of writing with hand cramps, trust me! After that, I decided to make it a double accomplishment and do some laundry... the second floor is MUCH warmer than the first floor!

Facebook quiz taken from Jessica:

What is Your Harry Potter Wand? -- Hazel and Mermaid Hair. My Result: Hazel and Mermaid Hair. You are very intelligent and wise. You are a good writer, and have the spirit of a poet. You are very loyal to those you love, but can appear to be a bit of a snob or know-it-all. Port Hardy, unintentional Mom humor, editing, and free drinks!

I called Eric at 5:50 to see whether he'd left yet, then he said that his picking me up was contingent on whether I'd bought new shoes! Hahaha, I didn't have unfettered time to do so, now did I? That's what I prefer, so I'm not rushing to get to places later! His Powerpoint is IMPORTANT as it's needed tomorrow; my "need" for new shoes, not so much. He said we'd be transiting there, so I put my bus pass in my pocket before changing from my red bling sweater to my green bling sweater! We saw a lot of Canucks fans on the way to the banquet, and discussed stops / parking / slowing down being a risk whenever he goes out with me / umbrellas for the rain / HMV / THE APPRENTICE / finishing Powerpoint / Wendy's and bad memories / any spelling and grammar FAILS being the fault of copy-and-paste.

Once we got there, we saw that we were at the "Gingerbread Men" table - hmm! We were with Jon, Harmony, Christon, Jeremy, Kevin, and Dianne... and had come just in time for the seafood bisque! Discussed Port Hardy, Port McNeill, Dennis, literally just missing a flood, Nanaimo, Campbell River, rich vs. poor people, drinking and tolerance, dancing later, red and white wine (plus rose), bread, the waiters cutting Alan off, ushering, Randal figuring he didn't know Calla and Stanford well enough to be at the banquet (and it IS expensive!), and Italy souvenirs. Also talked about double-fisting, Julie S. at the banquet, the bouquet and garter tosses, Thanksgiving, free drink tickets, being LOUD when the toasts came to our table (we got the photographer's endorsement even as our parents were wondering who the loud people were!), the efficient nature of this wedding banquet (tea / coffee / dessert by 9:20 or so, no kissing games, and only a very few short speeches with a very short slideshow?!), Auntie Lillian's English speech which mentioned their possible children (NO PRESSURE, RIGHT?!), and more. Jon wondered whether Dad's speech at his and Harmony's speech had been edited... I have no idea, even if it sounded like a first-generation person wrote it! At least it was better than what Mom would have come up with... unintentionally funny lines, anyone? Auntie Lillian's speech definitely did NOT sound edited by Acer or anyone else!

When Stanford came up for his speech, our table was trying to figure out just how much he'd had to drink: our conclusion (reached very shortly due to rambling and forgetfulness) was A LOT! After a cheesy grade school-ish rhyming poem, they segued into the first dance / father-daughter dance, tosses, and more. Went to the bathroom with Dianne, where I encountered my dad on the way there, and my mom inside - luckily, she was busy talking to Fidela about moving and her new boyfriend. At one point, Daniel asked whether they were playing Chinese music, so I asked Johnny (who was manning the computer sound) - he said no. I had a rum and Coke, Jon had Scotch, and we all had fish / beef / raspberry cake / cheesecake / wedding cake with impossible-to-eat fondant, fruit, chocolate, and more. Later, I skirted the edges of the dance floor in order to spend some time with little Mattias, who seemed attracted to all the shiny lights. I lifted him up to see the light from the podium, since he was pointing to it! Cute kid!

Gave Rich the favors from last week's wedding; with everything that happened, I didn't actually carry out my stated plan of giving them to him on Sunday! He accepted this explanation (as well he should - it's the TRUTH!), and thanked me. Eventually, I joined in the dancing - talked to Chrystal, who totally agrees that we should hang out now that her parents are gone. We'll figure things out tomorrow! Mike T. nearly dodged little Megan a few times, but her dad Kenny was watchful! I asked Megan if she was having fun, and she said yes. Talked to Cindy, Danielle, and Andrea about purple ties, clothing, and more. Hugged Calla goodbye; they're honeymooning in Hawaii! It was a fun time... and I did tell Citrus that Eric and I had seen the Citruso truck on the way home this afternoon. I'm aware it's usually around somewhere, but it's still cool when I do see the truck! On the way home (we left at about 10:20?), Eric and I discussed flies (as in the insect :P) / how drunk I was / whether Raymond impacted my enjoyment of the evening (not really) / my being really drunk tomorrow morning before church / washroom encounters / being tired from dancing and standing around / the Canucks fans not looking happy (I read that we'd lost 2-1 to L.A. in a shootout!) / his car radio not really working well / his deliberately annoying me / my bus pass / HandyDart / escorts for the bus passes. That reminded me about the bus pass application: I just checked online, and I did indeed mail it some weeks back - PHEW!. Since things ended so early, I can probably play some games before bedtime!

RUBIOUS (500 points) - against George M. [2W, two 5W]
PLAID (325 points) - against Cathy V.-S. [two 5W]
ASTEROID (530 points) - against Jenny H. [3W, two 4W]
YUTZES (255 points) - against Fida W. [3W, 4L on Y, 5L on Z] {a good deficit-erasing word!}

ASTRICT (395 points) - against Yvonne S. [3W, 5W used twice, hook off NINEBARK for a plural]
ZYMOGEN (105 points) - against Janice K. [3W, 3L on Y] {a good deficit-erasing word!}

Whoops, I just realized that Monday is the end of Thanksgiving long weekend! I emailed this to Karen (because I have an eye for details!), and she thanked me for catching that. She says she'll try finding another date for Ebisu sushi, haha. I've also suckered Chantelle into playing Wordscraper; she sent me a SCRABBLE WORLDWIDE invitation, but that excludes the US and Canada, probably for copyright / legal reasons!

Trivia fact for Thursday, Oct. 7: What is the highest score that wannabe attorneys can get on the Law School Admission Test, or LSAT? What's the lowest score possible? The highest is 180; the lowest, 120.

Nudging the peach in anatomical zippers, wrong numbers, respect, and tomatoes

High-scoring words of the afternoon:

ANATOMY (225 points) - against Kathleen M. [3W, 5W]
NUDGED (144 points) - against Robin D. [four 2W]
PEACH (285 points) - against Jodi B. [3W, 5W]
ZIP (135 points) - against Deanna W. [2W, 3W used twice, hook on ACT to make PACT]

We respected each other's need to be quietly doing stuff, which is more than I can say for SOME people! Discussed frying mushrooms with butter and garlic, then putting it on pita bread - sounds like lunch to me! Talked about the cutting board, remembering where stuff is, the Backstreet Boys concert tonight (Amy / Tracy / Denise / Vanessa / Fidela are going), albinism (a black woman who looks white), FIFTY POUNDS of weights, Turkish Delight, STARCRAFT, smell, rabbits, and wrong numbers calling him on Skype. (I didn't even know such a thing was possible...)

Also brought up gaming being tomorrow (I bet he'll get home at 4:30 AM again!), the Sunday Dinner / Christon / Jeremy / nightshade allergies / tomatoes / green potatoes / Bell peppers, the Smashing Pumpkins, going for a walk, the Beatles' FREE AS A BIRD, paperwork, and more. SO EXCITED FOR GRAD BANQUET AND THE CRAZY VIDEOS, OH MY! Let's say that 6 works for me, and the bus better not be late either!

What kind of name is SASHAKAY SHAKER?! (75 minutes is NOT almost an hour!) / Flat

Almost went on the Canada Line to get to my sister's, but remembered that I should take the 430 just as I got settled in my seat! Thank goodness I actually caught that bus, as the stop isn't very far away and even I could make it with my walking speed! Got to my sister's on time, meaning that I was the first one there. Cindy and Chrystal got lost, but it was fine. Fidela, Steph, Vanessa, Cindy, Chrystal, and I had a good time discussing (crazy) email addresses, China, curry, pasta salad, unique names, "Fidela" on Facebook, "same name" syndrome, "FANG!", pork, blueberry pie, ice cream, frogs, cows' eyes, lame teenage stuff, quiche, Steph's furniture which arrived in the last two days, ghetto people, weird names, and other stuff.

Steph was at the airport at 6 AM in Atlanta, when she heard some girl with a pronounced accent in the next washroom stall, sounding way too perky. "HEY GIRL! DID YOU GET MAH EMAIL?!" Then there was the person she came into contact with: her first and middle names were Sashakay Shaker. "You ain't gonna give me no ticket! I'm gonna remember yo' face!" HAHAHA, OH MY! My sister's response to the first? "You're right - I'm not going to give you no ticket. I'm giving you A ticket." (double negative!)

Fidela's tapioca pudding was a little strong, but there was alcohol in the extract! I also had a Dark Ale from Winnipeg along with tea and other stuff. Talked about stress, teaching, mispronunciation of "umbilicus" / "penis," "75 minutes?! That's almost an hour!" (dumb American girls that Fidela and her brothers overheard while waiting for a park ride), THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE the play, Steph's guestbook, her KING-SIZE BED, TV / Internet lacking now, and more. Cindy somehow mispronounced "Toblerone" as "Trombonerone," hahaha!

Trivia fact for Thursday, Jan. 7: Which continent is the flattest? Australia. According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the reason is "its position near the centre of a tectonic plate, where there are no volcanic or other geologic forces of the type that raise the topography of other continents."

Hands-free devices, pens, pencils, and sweaters!

Steph called me from her new hands-free device. Of course she doesn't want to break the new law in place, especially since that would look BAD for her! Gave me some directions to her place, and says that Fidela or someone can drive me to Metrotown Station or something. Sounds fine to me, although I might be able to convince someone to drop me off at an actual Canada Line stop instead!

Meetings, get-togethers, Grandma, sleepovers, and more... oh my!

For someone who relishes downtime, my week is sure filling up fast! Still, I guess it shall prove worthwhile... Steph's opened up her new place for the girls' 2010 get-together with me, her, Fidela, Melia, Cindy, and others. Perfect... I shall have to go out to Save-On and get some sort of salad tomorrow or the next day, for sure. I'll figure out how to get there later, haha. Since I had a date for the get-together, I decided to call Mom at 11:20 to say that I could be a good granddaughter since my schedule is free. Wow, and I still have to schedule a doctor's appointment sometime too!

Monday at 7: Committee Meeting (will make arrangements with Eric tomorrow sometime)
Wednesday at 6: 2010 girls' get-together at Steph's.
Thursday at 12-ish: Spending time with Grandma.
Friday at 5: Billie's birthday party in Coquitlam, complete with sleepover. (leave at 2:30 to get there on time?) [401, Canada Line to W. Hastings / Granville, 160 to Bay 12, C28]
Saturday at 4: Awana (I should leave Billie's at 2:35 to get to the church on time!) [C28, 169 Braid Station from Bay 11, Skytrain to Rupert Station - Millennium Line to VCC Clark]
Sunday at the usual time: Church! Don't know what I'll be doing later, but maybe going to lunch with people since Dave asked whether I was joining them - we'll see if I save money or not, heh.

Do we HAVE to sing Christmas carols in JANUARY?! Are you two DELUSIONAL?!

My parents were even later than they said they would be, but at least the banana-walnut muffins were fresh! Said hi to Grandma, anyway... got to service late, meeting Maxine's family in the elevator. I accidentally pressed the CLOSE DOOR button - when Maxine noticed, I said I wasn't awake yet... she knew how that was, haha. When I actually did go into the sanctuary, Randal was reading a Christmas-themed passage - and then we went into WE THREE KINGS. COME ON, CHRISTON AND ERIC! ARE YOU TWO DELUSIONAL?! (I understand that the Christian calendar's Christmas season extends into January, but did we REALLY have to sing Christmas carols?!) Of course, the sermon had to be Christmas-themed as well... *grumble*

I was very happy when service was over - said hi to Cindy and Dianne (who are back from China), Harmony (today's bag from Mom contained newspapers, muffins, and other things), Andrew, Jeremy, Hien, Karen Kwan, her dad Uncle John, William, Wes and a pregnant Esther, Chrystal (New Year's), Helen and her boys Nicholas and Cory, Joshua / Keenan / Tim, and others. Cory was wandering around with a tiny mandarin orange at one point - so cute! I scooped him up after he climbed the steps to the stage, while telling Joshua NOT to touch the drums. Having three kids would REALLY deplete your reserves of energy and patience, even if my parents did it! (haha, Helen pointed that out!) Noticed Martin talking to Mr. Creep near the kitchen, so tried to steer the kids away from that corner of the room for obvious reasons! Got too much coffee at first, because it was too hot for my knuckles to handle in a mug, so dumped some in the kitchen sink. (which reminds me of some vitamins that Nathan has - The Kitchen Sink, hahaha!)

Said hi to baby Mattias, who wanted the celery stick that I was eating right in front of him - sorry, baby, none for you! His mom Karen said that he knew it was food, and he wasn't picky! I bet! Kevin verbally reminded me of Committee Meeting tomorrow - yup, I remember. Hailed Dave when it seemed like he was done talking to Jose and Raymond ("Les!") - I actually barely touched his shirt because it had a tiger, haha! (whoops) He said that a respected graphic artist had drawn it; cool stuff! I asked how his birthday and New Year's had been - housesitting (which ends on Friday) and video games! He wanted to know what I was doing for lunch: I'd probably be with my parents, I told him. When I asked him in turn, he said that he'd either cycle or eat with the boys. At least this one isn't hanging out excessively with girls, haha! He mentioned reading through my Facebook profile, and finding it to be random. I told him that the NGS were known to be unique and quirky, hahaha!

Saw Lesley's friend Connie, and met her husband Alex and kids Christian and Kaitlin. (guessing at spelling) Asked Fidela what date the girls' get-together would be: we never get to see Becky, and she can't make it! Then again, Fidela's friend was supposed to visit her, but he's stuck in Portland since his passport is in UTAH! I guess that frees up her schedule... we'll see later on in the week, for sure! She wants somewhere central; while I had no idea on a specific place, I agreed that Broadway was good as a starting point for the variety and location. Made sure to talk to Sam since he leaves this week - we told each other to take care, even if winter break went by too quickly for him! Touched base with Jon (since I wasn't in the mood to talk to either Eric or Christon) - when I mentioned helping with the kids, he said that I should leave. I know, but I kept getting distracted!

By the time I went upstairs, it was 11:45 - yikes! Got to give away Christmas cards and candy canes to Conor (who hugged me a few times when I mentioned Jesus coming to his house), David, Evelyn, Margaret, and little Esther. Amanda said that in her picture of flowers, she had killed Transformers. I like the girl's morbid mind, haha! Amos just played with cars and such - the kids seemed to listen when I told them some stories, at least. (gave a candy cane to Rachel) Saw the twins' mom Linda, looking a bit thinner than a couple months ago, but that's definitely understandable! At least she's feeling better!

After that, I went downstairs, where Uncle Tom gave me a ginger snap. When Matthew Ma #2 came looking for $2 which he'd lost somewhere, I gave him my last candy cane when he remembered my name. Mom tried to give me a guilt trip about not accompanying Grandma to the second floor in the elevator because she forgot where she was going - nope, not buying that! Besides, she knows darn well that *I* would have no idea where to go - plus, I was running late too! Had Pho with my parents, and noticed that the restaurant had been renovated! At least I'm home early from church; this is a good thing, since I needed to pee when I got home! (if this is TMI, too bad :P)

Edit: I've asked Billie whether I can sleep over on Friday after the birthday party. Her dad has said that it's okay - apparently, her parents love having me over! Tara keeps saying that I'm such a good girl, haha. Either way, that's good - I just need to tell Eric tomorrow that I won't be going to MissionsFest, and I'll call Henry sometime during the week too.

I am NOT shy when it comes to giving out cards to certain people, but I will rant about others!

Eric picked me up, and said he could hear my screaming when he rang the doorbell.. eh, stop scaring me when that happens, then! Spent most of the ride ranting about my ex, Raymond, and Mr. Creep - I can imagine my ex saying what he actually did to Eric last week! ("So you care about Leslie more because you're just going to leave me to wait at the bus stop?" Life is NOT all about you! While I admit that it would suck to wait, he would have deserved that if it had happened! Besides, he could play stuff on his phone, so it's not like he would have had NOTHING to do to pass the time!) We made a detour to Dylan and Deb's so Eric could pick up a bag FULL of new socks, plus a huge pie. I asked him about the possibility of a ride for Sunday, and he said it was doable. Good, then! He wouldn't have seen me on Sunday since he was in the sound room, but that was fine.

When we neared the fellowship hall at church, I could just FEEL the presence of Mr. Creep - Eric had been trying to tell me that HE personally didn't feel any "bad" vibes from a certain person being the last one in his front seat until I occupied it tonight. Well, I kinda did! Eric wondered where I'd like to sit - not next to my "buddy," because I don't have one! Ended up sitting with Tim, Maxine, Joshua, Keenan, and Calla - the kids were cute! Joshua told us that he'd flipped a pencil, haha. Wrapped care packages for people while having SO MUCH DESSERT, gave Grace's container to Phil, returned Karmie's container to her (even though she said I didn't have to), and "shyly" (says Eric) gave a Christmas card to Dave.

He's a cool enough guy, even if he did wonder later if someone had "jacked" it! (I think he might have some black blood in him - I'm not being racist, just observing) Gave a card to Christon, who said that he'd return the favor - it's just that the card was at home... no problem! Then I gave Tim's super-late birthday card to him, hahaha. Told Harmony and Jon that I'd probably join them at the Whip on Sunday afternoon to see Fred - he's back from Australia for the holidays, and I haven't seen him in about two years! (since the day before New Year's Eve 2007) Don't know how that'll play out since there's no Sunday School, and I obviously have to be there for Toddler Sunday School, but we'll figure it out on Sunday morning! Joshua wanted to know why Eric didn't eat any dessert after Maxine and Calla wanted Eric to have some (he can't because of health issues!) - I told him that it had to be appropriate for a kid who's four to understand, so Eric just said that he wanted to be healthy. Good enough!

Listened to Jon speak for a few minutes to the group about SERVANTS: it was probably a good thing that Tim and Maxine had taken their kids home a few minutes before, since the Downtown Eastside subject matter wasn't really kid-friendly! (Keenan seemed to be TIRED!) Hugged Fidela and Darren hello since they're back for Christmas break, hugged Cindy and Dianne goodbye since they're going to China tomorrow, welcomed Sam back, talked briefly to Henry / Amy / Isabel / Emily Lam, and was generally friendly to most people. Didn't see Jeremy, but I bet he's super-busy! I wondered if Eric had a secret admirer since I saw he had a present - Christon had given it to him. Later, the guys were planning a Sunday Dinner for Jan. 3 - should be interesting! Dave and I just talked about his housesitting, weddings, and Sunday Dinners - he says he can make soul food and mean Caribbean-style dishes! Nice, indeed! Joined Eric and Calla in talking about time off work - he has most of next week off, too. Karmie came over and started talking about ear piercings - the one at Claire's is more expensive than the one Calla got recently at a spa. ($20 with studs vs. $50 with "free" studs) Her daughter Hannah came over, and we all admired her colored braces, haha.

Eric, Jon, Harmony, and I went to Dragon Ball to hang out with Fidela and Darren - we had to stop short at the door because it had undergone RENOVATIONS since the last time we were there! We talked about social justice issues / authors, mocha / persimmon, ginger-longan, durian, Fidela's parents being willing to listen even if they disagree about her behavior change, VAMPIRES (no TWILIGHT!), PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES, SENSE AND SENSIBILITY AND SEA MONSTERS, life in Atlanta, the Olympics, 2009, Tiger Woods, Jon Gosselin, Steph's new townhouse, how parents might react to "incarnation living" where you live with the people you serve, SERVANTS, Ron playing in the Goh Ballet's production of THE NUTCRACKER, Megan, Wayland's wedding (the bride was FREEZING!), and more stuff. Ivan Choo unexpectedly walked into the place just before closing time - we said hi to Karen via phone, haha. After dropping Jon and Harmony off (we all watched Fidela walk to her car, haha), Eric thought that Dave was my new target - um, NO. It was a nice gesture, and that's the story I'm sticking to - even if I did write "hope to get to know you better" in the card.

I hope he's not reminding me too much of a certain person, yikes! Got gas at an expensive price, and discussed the monitor / TV situation. Now, if I had given him some baked goods and chocolate along with the card, then that would have showed my hand too early in the game! But it was just a card - and I didn't mind his calling me "Les," haha. Interesting times, indeed! Got home to find my sister not here yet, but that's not surprising as she's the Designated Driver for the C Watch Christmas party, and it takes FOREVER to get from Maple Ridge to Richmond anyway! Fielded an email from Fidela about a girls' get-together early in the new year - should be cool times!

Poo nugget for this weekend: The Ritual Poo - The Ritual Poo occurs at the same time each day. Due to the clockwork nature of this poo, you can prepare by having a newspaper ready and your favorite bathroom location scoped out ahead of time. The regularity of these poos may provide comfort in an otherwise unpredictable world. Synonyms: Rite of Passage, Palm Poo, Calendar Crap.

Greek food with Grandma! / Violent Diarrhea

Learned via Facebook that Sarah Rowlett's mom Connie died on July 20 - damn, I hope they're holding up pretty well! I know she has a bunch of relatives: Rachel, Aaron, Stephen, Jessica, Ken (dad), David (nephew), Jeremy, Michelle, Beckie, and more. So sad! :(

Went to Kisamos with Steph and Grandma for dinner - so good! Lots of leftovers for tomorrow - discussed Grouse Grind, calamari, coolers, senior Fellowship, lamb, rice, Harmony, Karen Grace, Cindy / Fidela / Darren's birthday, Grandma being positive when she said the food was good, Jon, and other things.

Poo nugget for Wednesday, August 19: Number Three - Explosive Diarrhea - Impaired digestion is the likely cause of diarrhea when a bowel movement's explosion is particularly violent. In lactose-intolerant individuals, ingestion of dairy products results in the production of copious amounts of gas and liquid stool. If severe enough, the expulsion of these "contents under pressure" can cause your significant other to run for cover. (POO OF THE MONTH!)

Sirloin steak, Extreme Herbal Mint, Burt's Bees, Herbacin, and Glysomed

Due to certain things happening, I think I need to schedule an appointment with Auntie Ruby, and call her tomorrow (did this today with no answer at 3:30) - Googling bears this out, as does my worry over my body. This would also be why I had a peppercorn Angus top sirloin steak at Milestones before going to London Drugs. Bought reinforcements (this will remain unopened till I get to Grandma's), a toothbrush to replace my existing one at the townhouse (ditto), on-sale Extreme Herbal Mint toothpaste, on-sale pomegranate / honey Burt's Bees lip balm (which I've never tried before), scented Glysomed hand cream (TRUST THE GREEN!), SunRype apple chai tea, pomegranate Tetley Tea infusions, Scope mouthwash, pads of paper, on-sale Herbacin lip balm, and Excel gum. Gotta stock up and such, haha. When I got home, I threw away some more stuff... and I found two more pairs of black pants! Also started packing to go to the townhouse, too.

Leslie's just got their Munchkin Name from Name Generators. I just got my Munchkin Name. It's Hippie Munchkin.

Facebook quiz taken from Leslie:

Leslie completed the quiz "Which Daria character are you?" with the result Jane. You are the artist, and most of your time is spent displaying your tormented soul on a canvas. Although you dislike your classmates at Lawndale High as much as your best friend Daria does, you are willing to give the occasional person a chance (as you do with your boyfriend Tom). If you need an escape from your brother Trent's band practice, you can be found getting pizza with Daria.

Fidela tagged this photo of me from Megan's bridal shower:

(Chrystal, me, Melia, Cindy, Vanessa, Emily, Jenny, Megan, Andrea, Winnie, Connie, Fidela, and Dianne with little Megan and her blue balloon)

Focusing hardcore on LOCATION, dangling and sweeping, dinner preparation

UGH! The computer restarted right when I stepped away from it for a moment to get some frozen fruit for lunch! This morning, I finished all my Word Twist games before heading to church - this way, I can focus hardcore on the LOCATION project, if real life doesn't interfere! Also noted that Kyle had added me to Facebook, which is cool enough. Eric picked me up shortly after 9:15, and asked if I was prepared for Raymond and Randal both to be at the dinner tonight. I thought he was joking about Raymond (I knew about Randal's being there), but he said he wasn't.We also discussed other things of a random nature (Joey / bananas for breakfast / Jasmine at the dinner? / Yazmine mishearing / the Night Market!), like morons who wish to cross in the middle of a busy road, and stupid drivers.

When we got to church, I saw Wesley when I crossed the road. Nice to see him these days! Accidentally punched someone in the arm because I thought she was my sister, albeit NOT in her usual spot - oops. Then I thought Calla might be my sister since I only saw her from the back - then again, I revised that when I saw the girl was sitting right next to a guy who kinda looked like Stanford. What the heck is wrong with my vision?! I definitely saw some aunties and uncles, Emily (who I sat beside), Joey, Ivan, Jon, Harmony, Fidela, Clement, Justin, Brian, Julie, and others!

After Phil's sermon on guilt / confession, I asked Fidela what the "dangle and sweep" was all about from Erin's bachelorette dinner. She told me that it had to do with making your boobs bigger ("just sweep your area near your elbow!"), and wondered why Steph hadn't just told me when I'd asked. I said that it probably had to do with mixed company at the family dinner since it would have been kinda awkward to say that in front of Dad and Jon! Apparently, Eunice had joked that she'd try it for a month's trial! Then I saw my dad, and told Fidela that he was now 60 - her dad is hitting that mark next year, apparently! She's heading to the Dominican Republic soon, too! Said hi to Jen before heading into the fellowship hall to smile at baby Gavin. He wanted to eat his dad's bag strap, haha! Luckily, Lee got him some watermelon instead while I had some grapes and a nut cookie. Someone asked me if I'd seen Randal since they needed to tell him something - nope, but I saw him upstairs later. I figured he could find the person himself, hahaha.

Talked to Connie about what she'd done for her birthday, which she shares with her sister Jenny. She saw the Art Gallery with her sister Winnie's family, is having a family dinner, and her friends surprised her at her apartment with cake and flowers while she was taking a shower! Went outside the fellowship hall to talk to baby Allison, who was having fun because Daniel was lifting her up in the air! Said hi to Joshua and Keenan - Keenan just ran to his dad Tim, heh. Greeted Jeremy, Jon (who gave me the $10 he and Harmony owe me toward Grandma's grad banquet ticket - I might end up giving it back to him tonight for the dinner), and Harmony - if the family dinner is changed, it doesn't matter to me! Negotiated with Vanessa, who will give me the ticket when I have the money next week - makes sense, since I forgot my wallet this morning as I left for church. Since Jen was asking Nathan about ride arrangements tonight, I asked him if his car was full - it wasn't, so he can swing by and pick me up. Yes, I'm still in the same place with the rats - how unfortunate!

I also said hi to baby Noah, who looked like he wanted to go upstairs... then talked briefly to his aunt Janet who's here from Toronto. (Stella's sister) Since Sunday School started early, I went upstairs to have some actual kid interaction. Mentally counted the number of kids - the twins David and Evelyn, Charissa, Caleb, Asher, Arthur, and Amanda made seven - and was thankful that I had eight white chocolate cookies to a Ziploc bag. Talked about blue / yellow / red Lego, Ripley's Believe It Or Not! (I should let Auntie Fonda borrow one of my books!), ambidextrous people, water, "bad people," David being cute when he wanted his sister to finish her cookie RIGHT NOW (so he attempted to pack it up for her AND brought her some shoes), and more stuff. After Sunday School, Cindy asked if I'd seen Sheena - nope!

Met Eric on the stairs, who was looking for me. In the spirit of yet more random time, I told him to hang on while I told my mom (out of courtesy) that I was going home with him. Then I saw Sheena - it happened that Cindy was right behind me as I was giving her the information that she was looking for her! Got distracted by Sean reading the Walkathon poster out loud to himself - I helped him with the hard words! Later, Jon and Eric were talking about tonight's dinner, the Night Market, honeymoon photos, and stuff they needed to get - no beef, no burgers, maybe salad, probably cheese or more sophisticated beer, no mushrooms and such, etc. Mom mentioned that Steph's friend Chantel was in town - I had noted that in the email exchange. Who knows if they're coming tonight, heh - Steph apparently got only two hours' sleep! Discussed a disability tax-free savings account bond for more than $1000 a year (I should talk to Andrea's mom about that, apparently), prawns, fish, salmon steaks, and more. Made plans with Andrea to call her tomorrow instead of tonight, since I was going over to the White Man's house for the barbecue. (sounds so racist, but we're not being that way!)

Eric and I left pretty soon after that, and he said that we'd be boiled alive in the car! Joked about my MORTAL DANGER book - no, the title didn't contain DEATH / MURDER / BLOOD! Talked about evil people in general, the Granville Island scavenger hunt next Friday for Fellowship (then hanging at Nathan's), the stinking hot weather all week long, Vanessa, overbuying chips at Superstore a couple weeks back, Szechuan / General Tao chicken, NOT eating four bags of chips and one package of cookies in two nights, and more. When I got home, I mused that it might be time to buy some new shorts in dark or light colors - maybe later! Also made sleepover plans with Billie for August 10-11, since I have to look after Grandma for two weeks from the 12th onward. Nice to accomplish some things, at least!

The air vents in the fellowship hall are very amusing!

Managed to make it to Vancouver on the bus in plenty of time to show up for the bridal shower, so I had a ham and cheese wrap at Blenz while finishing up yesterday's lemonade. I was about to get off at the old church bus stop, but remembered that I shouldn't. Got to church, to find Cindy trying to open the door. I helped by ringing the doorbell, to no avail. Apparently, there was nobody in there. I told her to call my dad, but instead she had a conversation with my grandma since he wasn't home yet! Fidela came up and asked what was going on. When she got there a few minutes later, Auntie Catherine said that Auntie Ying was actually in the kitchen. Finally, we were let in by an apologetic Auntie Ying. I helped with wasabi, soy sauce, chairs, and music selection: Norah Jones over Celine Dion, man!

Talked to Sandra, Amanda, Winnie (who is pregnant again), little Megan (who was rather taken with the air vents), Vanessa, Jenny (who feels better from her pneumonia), Auntie Gloria, Auntie Anna (I'm her BABY?!), Auntie Bessy, Jocelyn, Bryant's girlfriend Shirley, Fidela, Chrystal, Emily, and the others there. Auntie Stella says that Alan, Tracy, Eunice, and Eddie were doing wedding stuff tonight. Auntie Brenda says that at least she doesn't have to do anything for Erin's wedding in August, heh. I told little Megan to show Karen what the vent did to her dress: it made it BILLOW! She loved it - hours of entertainment for the child! (she also loved the blue balloons and the colorful fine markers - Cindy also had 90 gel pens that she got for $28!) Also, the two Megans have the same English and Chinese name, in a pure coincidence. Speaking of coincidence, Cindy had brought the wedding invitation to the Dairy Queen, hoping she might use the image on the ice cream cake. The person in front of her was also going to Andy and Megan's wedding! We played games - the makeup game was fun, but I missed some of it due to my dad phoning Lesley's cell phone to alert me to the fact that Terrence had to stay at my place. Yes, I knew... I wasn't home or available!

Amanda was taking pictures of the fellowship hall since her husband Michael has never been there before. I was going to get Sandra's email address so I could send her some wedding pictures, but forgot. Her husband Larry was very surprised when she told him that Jon was getting married; she'd heard from Steph a few days before the wedding. Ah, lots of memories... Fidela and Chrystal swapped Korea stories, and Fidela told us that the most wedding party members she'd ever seen at a wedding involved TWENTY groomsmen and TEN bridesmaids! WHOA! Got a ride home with Andrea (saw Edmond / Alysia / Michael / Juliana / Eric T.), which was good. A bit later, Terrence got here: we talked about Singapore, Facebook, photos, the church, FAMILY GUY, Shanghai, pizza, breakfast tomorrow (his treat since I'm putting him up for a few days), and the Food Network. It's cool!

Interesting vodka flavors, and DINOSAURS!

This thing just restarted, and I shouldn't be up anyhow. Bedtime!

Hmm... Cindy, Fidela, and Auntie Catherine sent me an Evite for Megan's bridal shower on June 22 (a Monday) at 6 in the church's fellowship hall. Hey, might as well use the space now that we have it, hahaha.

Alicia and Teunis picked me up earlier tonight - let's just say that I've finally met a more impatient driver than my dad, heh. It was an interesting ride... I was glad when we finally got to Erik's. Nipped into the bathroom to get my cards in order, then accepted Lindsay's offer of Dibs. There was lots of alcohol around (Malibu rum, Stolichnaya blueberry / vanilla / raspberry, beer, and more), plus chicken / hot dogs. Talked more to Kyle than I ever have before - at least he knows what my name is now, haha. Gave Alicia a birthday card, and also gave one to Erik - it's what I do, haha. Heard Alicia's husband Scott say that I barely know her, yet I give her a better card than her mother! Could be true, from what I heard. Said hi to Kaili, admired someone's dark green modern corset, and talked about Krista / atheism / Catholic guilt / depression / religion / life stories / Queen Victoria / alchemy / weddings / Facebook / new roommates / humor / Speed Racer / more. We were going to leave, but Erik enticed us with SWEENEY TODD - sure thing! Interesting story - nice bloody deaths scenes too, hehe. :D

Leslie's just got their Prank Call Name. I just got my Prank Call Name. It's Bertha Kidd.

Leslie just took the Is Your House Haunted Quiz and My house probably isn't haunted. My house probably isn't haunted. I may hear the occasional bump in the night, and sense the odd smell here and there, but it might just be my dog or my significant other.

Facebook quizzes taken from Jemima, Spoz, Kaitlin, Jono, and Candy:

Leslie completed the quiz "What's your ideal career?" with the result Politics & Law. Well done! You are best suited to the Politics & Law career type. You are a very straightforward person who generally means what you say and know what you want. When it comes to persuasive arguments, you know what you're talking about and will not hesitate when backing up your arguments with valid evidence. This choice of career is bound to lead you on the pathway to success, as long as you are willing to put in the effort and commitment it requires... (Well, my family always said that I'd make a good lawyer because I seemingly like to ARGUE... *sigh*)

Leslie took the WHICH DINOSAUR / WEAPON COMBO WOULD YOU RIDE INTO BATTLE!!!!!! quiz and the result is Stegosaurus with a Laser. So... a stegosaurus would be a remarkably uncomfortable and clumsy steed. We admit that it is awesome, and has a spiky club for a tail which has its own brain. That is awesome. Lasers add a sci-fi flair. You are probably a nerd. You know at least one programming language, and give talks on maths for fun. Nevertheless, you are a sexy individual who is a huggabone honey stain baby doll. You would match well with someone who is the awesomest.

Leslie took the What emergency worker are you? quiz and the result is EMT. You want to save lives. You are quick to respond.

Leslie took the Which novelist are you? quiz and the result is James Joyce. Irish writer Joyce was a pioneer and a model for authors who believed in free written expression. His writing evolved steadily from adolescent lyrics to precise vignettes to bold combinations of autobiography and satire. Most of his works deal with everyday life. Although Joyce renounced the Roman Catholic faith, his writings frequently refer to the rich tradition of the Church. He compared the artist and the writer to the priest, who performs certain social and aesthetic functions in a dramatic display. He also compared the literary use of symbols to the religious use of sacraments, which are the outward and visible representations of inward and invisible spiritual states. Joyce called some of his early sketches epiphanies; the term epiphany, often used in a religious context, means an understanding that comes about through a sudden intuitive realization. A Joycean epiphany is a small descriptive moment, action, or phrase that holds much larger meaning–for example, a single word or gesture that explains a person’s entire personality.

Leslie took the Music Theory Quiz quiz and the result is Music Theory Master. You must either be a professional musician or a really good guesser.

Leslie took the What Rush song are you? quiz and the result is 2112 (The Complainer). You are a complainer, just like the song 2112 was written to complain about how the record companies try to control song length and style. You're always rambling about how the stupid people, the meek, are inheriting the earth and taking control. You're annoyed at the government because you think it regulates and directs your life from within. You always think that you have the best answer to a problem and that people will all see its light. You believe that society has destroyed all ethics and morals; the elder race of man. Because of all this, you claim you have a cold and empty life.

She has the same name as I do, AND a sister with the same name as mine?! FREAKY!

UGH... This thing just restarted! If that wasn't enough, Firefox kept having errors like it's been prone to do lately. NOT my morning!

OH MY GOODNESS. I have a Facebook friend with the same first and last name as me (Fidela's friend), and it turns out that she has a sister named Stephanie. *I* have a sister named Stephanie! FREAKY! I don't have a brother named Christian or a sister named Lauren, but still! (reminds me of junior high, or how Dallas met someone with his first and last name at rez last year, or how Jocelyn met someone with her first and last name at Winter Con years ago) I know that Stanley's brother's first and last name is the same as Rosanna and Samantha's dad's name, and that Adam's twin's name is the same as little Eunice's dad's name! YIKES, haha.

Dream: Money, Sabrina, Neptune, and Cupid

Had an interesting dream last night where I was preoccupied with writing a Valentine's Day card to Corey, to be sent in a green envelope. Sabrina appeared next to me, and told me that my grandma had given me a lot of money. However, I had to leave the card and other stuff on the wet grass while I retrieved it from the bank machine. I wanted her to watch my stuff for me, which she did. Came back with a few $100 bills and some $50 bills, which I stowed away very carefully. She then wanted me to come over to where her friends were, so I did that. We passed by Henry, Benedict, Danny, and some others on the way to her computer. I used it to check Facebook messages, and found a thread which actually scrolled the messages in the text box!

Fidela and Justin had both left me HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR messages in English and Chinese, as well as their reasons for liking / disliking lamb. When I'd replied to that, Sabrina wanted to use the computer, so of course I let her. My brother had left her a message stating that we simply had to see this Shakespearean book that he'd found. We left and were greeted with the sight of a play which uncannily echoed some parts of an ornate book my brother had. The book had NEPTUNE on the spine, and a companion volume called VIRGIL. They both had pictures of Cupids, as well as old-style writing, with stylized F's. After determining that Abigail and Lucy (two characters) would do whatever they wished no matter if they were sick, I alerted Jon and Sabrina to the money I still had. For some reason, I thought that I had to give it back! They persuaded me to keep it, and that was where the dream ended. Weird stuff! I wouldn't give a Valentine's Day card to Corey, as that would be very awkward. Maybe I'll ask him about it later, haha!

You Are Cool

You don't necessarily dislike other people, you just don't feel all that comfortable around them.

You tend to keep your distance. However, people may misread you and think you're being a snob.

If you want to be warmer, try starting small. Smile more. Greet people. Ask them how their days are going.

It doesn't take a lot to get some warm energy going. And it will make both you and the people around you feel better.

Meh, I used to be warmer. Now, it doesn't matter. Actually I'm only warm to people I know well, or who are established. Not sure this makes sense, but it'll do. ;)
