Eric called just now to see if I wanted to help marinate chicken and chop up veggies for tomorrow's Skeena Terrace BBQ. I'm not against helping out, but I'll figure that out tomorrow!

"Paying respects to Dad" ... he's not DEAD yet!

Steph woke me up when she called at 11, so I quicky did what I had to do before leaving. (I'd been having a dream where Mark, Joey, Sheena, and others were in a big group in someone's basement: the party game was "Take Your Friend's Bra Off Your head Without Help"! WTF?) Good thing I'd packed my clothes for the trip last night while I remembered! On the way over to the townhouse, we discussed Phil and Grace's new plans - so sudden! When we got there, we talked to Mom about dementia and Minoru while saying hi to Grandma. Called Jon to invite him to lunch, but Harmony had an appointment - this baby is LATE! After a while, we ate a lunch consisting of spaghetti / pizza / spinach / Chinese desserts while talking about Uncle Reuben, Auntie Christine, Alzheimer's, Jane, Dad not happy about no church, Karen Grace saying that her mom talked ALL THE TIME to her brother Edwin's baby (so she feels sorry for it), family stuff, Auntie Dorothy, ovarian cancer, and diet. Mom said that I could go out in the rainy weather to take Grandma out somewhere instead of doing the dishes, so I did. (I'd get butter chicken and stuff like muffins later) While I was at the house, I paid the parents $60 more for the trip - no, I have NOT (and will not) give you $310! We went to Richmond Centre, but Grandma complained that she had to stand and wait for the bus since the bench was wet; I can't say I'm a big fan of it either, but some things just have to be done!

Since she said she wanted to buy toothpaste, we ended up at Shoppers Drug Mart. Luckily, Colgate toothpaste was on sale for a dollar each. She also got on-sale canned Clover Leaf salmon, and two boxes of multigrain Life crackers / wildberry hard candies / a Father's Day card for me. The Kleenex wasn't on sale, so she didn't get any... nor did she get dog food or cleaning supplies. She saw maxipads, and figured she wouldn't have to buy any. Probably a good thing, since she's 92! She gave me a quarter before we went to McDonalds to get ice cream / hot water / a senior's coffee, which she paid for. Then we browsed Yuen Shing very briefly before going back to the townhouse. She thought she knew how to get home, but I wasn't going to lave her alone to do that! Yes, it was probably a lot of walking for her, but I did my duty! Now I'm just catching up on stuff using my dad's IE while Steph is still scanning old childhood photos and uploading some to FB. Guess we're also staying for dinner, which includes rice / taro / ribs.


Mom, upon my sister and my arrival at her townhouse: "Haven't you gone upstairs and paid your respects to Dad yet?!" *sister and I look at each other and burst out laughing* "MOM! Do you want your husband to be DEAD?!" "... isn't that what you say?!"

I'm all churched-out, and don't want to do it again for at LEAST another two weeks! SO KNACKERED! Eric picked me up after 9, and bugged me about having beef for breakfast: "What if that's what Christon has gotten together for lunch?!" Somehow, I didn't think that would happen... I was right, since we had noodles / subs / grapes / strawberries / kiwis! We talked about BS, Bible Study, unfortunate abbreviations, Phil, Pastor Bob, spoiling the kids with jelly and chocolate hearts, his guaranteeing to the government that I would be too crazy to leave the country (DON'T DO THAT!), Chinese Eric, Valentine's Day, dreaming, what I did yesterday, quotes, MOTHER 3 on Hard Mode, FINAL FANTASY, video games, forums, GARBAGE DAY on Youtube, and more. When we got to church, I told him not to abandon me again - I met him at the church door, heh. Talked to Phil about the passport thing; since it was more convenient to do it at lunch, that worked for me!

Sat by Jeremy and Mark, and talked about wedding invites and furniture clean-out; when I said hi to Pastor Bob, he wanted to know who I was! I suppose that could be a fair question, hahaha. (Eric thinks I "rarely" come nowadays - HEY, I STILL ATTEND CHURCH MORE OFTEN THAN MY SISTER, OKAY?!) It was interesting to have an art slant on the sermon, but I was still looking for coffee afterwards - I asked Jordan, who told me that there wasn't any! Oh well. Said hi and talked to Reigan, Auntie Eva (Grandma arrangements - she'll call - "I'm so behind since I have no computer!"), Auntie Paula (her health - she thanked me for my concern IN ENGLISH!), Auntie Ying (future Vancouver lunch plans?), Sheena (late birthday wishes), Amanda, and Quan. Also talked to Lincoln (busy AND just engaged two days before his Valentine's Day birthday!), Andrew (biology / midterm papers / getting stuff done early), Mom (Polly and Alan's lucky money - she unexpectedly paid me back for the passport photo costs!), Harmony (maternity leave / research into expensive carseats and strollers / naming / a year off / active and kicking Baby Dragon!), Polly and Alan (THANKS FOR THE MONEY! AND AWANA!), Vania (tagging), Deb, baby Declan, Dylan (belated birthday wishes), Sonya, Nathan W., Uncle Johnny, and others. SO MANY BABIES AND CHILDREN!

Went upstairs to Toddler Sunday School; saw James (who leaned on me and held my hands), Mattias (I had to play the role of "kiddy bathroom attendant"), new kids, a baby whom I just called "baby," Jessie, Rachel and her grandma, Jonathan, Anastasia, Ashley, Ramen, and Shira. The kids were really hyper today, but I gave out the candy anyway. They liked the slides, trucks, puzzles, and all the usual toys. Chung told me that he won't let Mattias have sugar; I guess I should have let the kid have one or two jelly hearts before Daddy showed up, haha. When I got downstairs, Grandma didn't know where Mom and Dad were; they were in the front! Said hi to a bunch of people in the fellowship hall, and sat by Mark later at the welcome lunch. He remarked on how little Noah looked like a KILL BILL character with his white dress shirt and black tie, and how all the other kids (Anne / Sophia / Olivia / Nathaniel / Abigail / Joshua / Keenan / Benjamin / Mattias) were running around and creating mayhem. You got that right!

I said hi to baby Marcus / baby Emma and her dad Tim / baby Ava, and talked to Acer / Mark / Geoffrey / some Hong Kong guy / Alan / Tracy / Auntie Lillian about Craigslist job searching from Hong Kong / crowded conditions in Hong Kong / Translink / transit / fare evasion / feeling ripped off / NOODLES FOR US WHEN THE KIDS FINISHED! Told Jon about spaghetti squash exploding, and that funny pee sign. Phil and Eric helped me with my passport documents, which was excellent. Also talked to Sophia and Helen about Steph / family vacations / travel / Strawberry Shortcake gum - Elaine IS coming back in a bit before New Hampshire and her husband Matt's family, as Andrea said a while ago! The family meeting was about transitions, change, questions, inter-generational stuff, worship, devotions, and more. Got a lot of tag prompt writing done, and laughed when Mark inserted pencils in his shoe.

Afterwards, I finally made tentative plans with Randal to meet at the Aberdeen Tim Horton's on Thursday; thank goodness I checked, and there is NO HOCKEY THAT NIGHT! I don't mind if he calls me after work that evening, which is progress. Grandma was still knitting outside since my parents were in a meeting; she asked where Jon was, but I told her that he and Harmony had left earlier to buy baby stuff. Eric wondered whether we had to take her home, but we didn't. She recognized White Kid, but (as I told him later) might not recognize Wu-So-Lo (but he DOES have a mustache now) - she definitely won't recognize Mark! On the way home, we discussed banana bruising / Teunis and Tess / co-existing with Mr. Creep and Paul (who was elsewhere today - PHEW!) / the Fellowship AGM / Greek food / Chinese Eric's health issues and whether he COULD eat Greek food / my parents' cruise / advice / blocking people temporarily or staying offline till I got my stuff done / Texas / NOT BEING IN LOVE WITH MATT! At home, I napped for a bit, then checked Facebook to find the news of Lincoln and Karen's engagement. I immediately called Steph to catch her up on things; Karen Grace is excited about being an aunt, too! Discussed research, passport stuff, money, food, and other things. Interesting, but long day!

Jeremy and Eric disappeared on us! / Skeena Terrace, really?!

Eric picked me up earlier than I was expecting (DAMMIT), and we talked about sanitizing the car / OBLIVION / MORROWIND / Mark / the Grouse Grind / the Skeena Terrace BBQ / FINAL FANTASY II and other video game music / cookies / what I'd immerse myself in next. (I don't know what that would be!) Got into church, said hi to Pastor Tom, and greeted Jeremy and Mark when they came to sit in the usual pew. Of course Nathan W. was being lazy during handshaking time, but I didn't care! Jordan and Thomas came in later to sit by him, too. Jeremy said that we should take Mark on a tour of Richmond via the Canada Line: hot pot would definitely be on the agenda for that one, haha! After service, I said hi to Joshua / Keenan / Isaac (who let me hold his hand) / Frances / Micah / Megan (who told me to look at her teeth - she had some missing!) / Cameron (who had biscuits!) / Connor / Victor / Maxine and baby Emma / Hien / Vania / Chris / Sabrina / Stanford / Deb while dodging Mr. Creep a lot.

Mark and I also discussed the fireworks, Lindsay (a city in Ontario), his girlfriend, Queens, Abbotsford, and life before realizing that we didn't see Jeremy or Eric around anywhere! He checked the kitchen and the foyer to no avail, then I figured that maybe they were counting offering (after I had cucumbers in spinach dip) - they were indeed doing such! Mark said that he's seen ME now, and Jon - but not the two of us together! Noticed Sheena on crutches, discussed the wedding with Chrystal and Auntie Catherine, and said I'd call Chrystal this week. I told Eric that if they were just going to do something for an hour, I'd just go upstairs to Toddler Sunday School as usual... he heard me! (NO GRAD BANQUET - NOT ENOUGH GRADS?!)

As I was going upstairs, I noticed Gino / Christon / Geoffrey / Enoch, but didn't talk to them. Saw Ramen (who was excited about his brand new watch), Shira, Ada, Jessie, Auntie Ying, Rachel's grandma, Anastasia and her dad, David, and Evelyn in the room already. Discussed stickers, getting together in September, toys, drawings, coloring, and more with people. Rachel said that her budgie died because her dad fed it lettuce - yikes! She also has a hamster, which is still alive. I said hi to Nina and Emily, who haven't finished the chocolate eggs yet - figured as much! Got downstairs and was bored since people weren't back yet... said hi to Grandma, who wanted to go for lunch. Introduced her to Rachel's grandma, heh.

I did manage to discuss Calgary and the freedom of independence with Dianne (leaving the door open when you go to the bathroom!) before Pastor Tom entertained us with birth / hospital stories. FINALLY, the group came back at 2 - Cindy said that they'd had Pho, but people were excited about the BBQ over there. Harmony wanted to know if I were going hiking - NO! Eric and I discussed making food this Friday, French words / my being "DRUNK," Randal's / Mr. Creep's features (NO), Nathan's thing on Thursday, the hot weather / doing things in the afternoon, and more prior to his dropping me off and wishing me a good day / week. Now, I get to do laundry! YAY.

I dreamed that I was in a Wal-Mart elevator with red socks, some McDonalds food in a paper bag, and some homemade holiday cards that Sheena gave me. (she'd cut out Chinese characters in paper - VERY impressive!) This white couple came into the elevator from the clothing department, and warned me not to steal anything. I assured them that I wouldn't, then left the elevator to join my friends in the hospital, meeting Teunis on the way - he told me that he was sick of Kaili and her laptop after only ten minutes! Frances and Sophia wished me an easy birth, as I was due to give birth to Sean C. any day (WTF?) - the day of Feb. 2 passed uneventfully, and then the baby was born that night, with Uncle Andrew (his real-life dad) in attendance as a doctor when he's a real-life dentist. Fast-forward sixteen years or so, where Sean was on a Whistler retreat with Sam and others, looking really buff. The friends developed a disease which started with brown stains up their arms... even the girls got it! There was a cure for it, so everyone took advantage of the healing pools post-haste before making the trip back down to rejoin everyone else in town! No idea why I had that one, although Sheena's birthday is coming up soon!

I DID HAVE TO RIDE WITH MY PARENTS TO GINGERI RESTAURANT! Bleh... at least the ride over wasn't TOO annoying, except for Mom suggesting I leave my bags in the car while we ate lunch. Nope, I was bringing them in WITH me, thanks very much! She did ask me whether they were presents, so I just half-lied and said NO. (one of them was, the others were not) Jon was there before we were, and had just secured a table. When Steph came in, I gave her the blackest look EVER before giving her the brandy beans and Christmas card! She said she wasn't setting me up, but wanted to save me from waiting at the bank for Grandma, who has no real memory now. Well, at least I got to put my stuff on the floor by Jon's reusable bag!

We talked about Grandma's memory / appetite issues, her vomiting, her telling Great-Aunt that she was just waiting to die (er...), Mom telling her to "leave them a legacy while you're still alive," our not expecting much money-wise, our having to be very patient with her, Costco, Bathroom Readers / Ripley's, salad, spring rolls, Pastor John, the Leslie Nielsen movie marathon, NAKED GUN / AIRPLANE! (Mom called it "Airport" - close enough?), the parents' trip to Nanaimo (it's not even over a weekend!), yesterday's Groupon being for Gudrun ($25 for $55 is good value unless you're Dad!), Steph and Lisa's horrible time with the onions at their place, the food at Gingeri being good, Jon's concerts (I'd rather go to Bible Study!), laughing at each other's ID cards, and more. Jon gave me and Steph the Advent devotional readers that other people had to buy, and Mom gave me $15. I guess it was an okay lunch... at the end, they even gave us a plastic bag full of Chinese mushrooms! It was so random that Steph HAD to take a picture of them! (I also got her to help with putting my mailbox key on my keychain) Mom says I could come over when they're gone, but not to invite my friends there - I'm not stupid, but I am an adult! Sheesh, lady! She said she had clothing for me, but she forgot to bring it: I SAY, CONSIDER THE SOURCE! She also wondered who'd given me my purple toque: Sheena and Chalaine!

Luckily, I had something to do after lunch (Jon had to teach), so I wasn't up for helping the parents move furniture back into its proper place after renovations. Steph dropped me off at London Drugs; yes, I should make sure the storage boxes have handles next time! (and I did when I went back after returning the box) Since I figured that underwear shopping at Sears would take FOREVER (and it did!), I returned the storage box first so I wouldn't have to lug that around. Then I went to Sears - after a long time, I finally found black underwear in good enough styles and price ranges! After that, I had a blueberry bubble tea at Death by Chocolate. Went back to London Drugs (after noting that the construction at Richmond Centre now had an actual floor instead of concrete), and got an aloe drink / three 3-packs of store brand tape (dwindling home supply) / an 8-pack of Dial aloe bar soap (ditto) / a new on-sale storage box which was the same style as the one I returned! Checked my mailbox when I got home to find a postcard of a Finnish bridge [Jätkänkynttilä] from Didu (didu), and a rather plain-looking long envelope containing a card / Christmas-themed stickers / England soccer stickers (my sister would LOVE these!) / Arms Trade treaty stickers from Paul. (sherbetsaucers) Very COOL!

Deb sent an email to say that she and Dylan wanted to thank me for my thoughtful words (always a pleasure!) and the Coffee Crisp bars (they enjoy them), and that she'd see me tomorrow. I'm afraid I was SUCH a girl while telling her about the stickers... oh well. I KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING I FORGOT AT THE STORE! (treats for tomorrow's Bible Study) *sigh* Guess I'm going back there soon-ish... Dylan also sent us (me / Eric M. / Christon / Wesley / Vivian / Jen / Kevin) an email about Monday's Committee meeting. He wonders if there's a central meeting place since Wes lives out in PoCo... yeah, good luck with that. :P Actually, I'm not going out anywhere, given the sad state of my bank account!

Eric picked me up, and started bugging me about the snow - he called it "my friend" and sang some wintery songs. Of course, we were listening to Team 1040... then I realized that there would be no more door fail with the white Sunfire, although (as I rediscovered in the parkade) they ARE wide! He said that there would be plenty of OTHER fail - oh, SHUT UP! Says that the Honda will be scrapped; yeah, that's what I figured even if he CAN get some money for it. We talked about bags, NOT stealing laptops, traffic, drivers, poop and sewers, Alain Vigneault and lozenges ("is that their gag for tonight?"), and more on the way to church.

When we got to the chapel, I saw Christon and Dylan - then I remembered about the care cards, which I went upstairs to get. Took the elevator back down before giving them to Christon, haha. Found out later that one of them was for Sheena, which I approve of. Uncle Stephen was already into his talk, trying to equate the Jacob / Joseph and 11 brothers story in Genesis to forgiveness and our current church issues. At least he does acknowledge it's a hard road, where the aggressor MUST take responsibility! (none of that's happened to ME...) There was some theological discussion later, but I agreed with Alan: we're only human, so cutting off contact might be the best thing we can do for our relationships and sanity!

Later, Dianne bugged Wes about signing the card for their small group since he probably couldn't pick Sheena out of a lineup! After I told Jen - by Randal - about the laptop and asked if she was coming on Sunday (she is!), I told him about my good week, because nothing spectacular had happened in HIS! He's so right that he needs a friend like Chinese Eric, hahaha! ("Wow! That's awesome!") Martin (who was going to take his car to his parents' place), Kevin, and others started talking about the projected snowfall; we didn't see any when looking out the window! We also talked about Jon, Harmony, surprises, SERVANTS, small group outing, service, Alan and Tracy not going home (but meeting Eddie and Eunice for bubble tea at e.tea on 22nd), chasing after people, and more. Dylan asked if I'd given the cards to Christon: he didn't remember about Christon's email till today, and it was sent on Tuesday! Meanwhile, Christon was talking to some new girl - BE CAREFUL!

Eric asked if I were ready to go - yup, because I only talked to people whom I knew to be good. In the parkade, he ate up more time by talking to Kevin about Committee things and Wesley - fine, I guess. On the way home, we talked about the certain snow in Richmond / his mom getting worried because his brother is coming up here in this weather for American Thanksgiving week (he should be home by midnight-ish if he left at 9) / our forgetting about US Thanksgiving / Chapters iRewards cards / Bathroom Readers / how he should have gone with me instead to get books / STARCRAFT / WORLD OF WARCRAFT / quests / Azaroth / whether Jon's thing was Saturday or Sunday / a mix of rain and snow as the perfect "favorite intersection" weather / making snow angels with Dave Wong (NO!) / snow shovels / control over the trunk. He also bugged me about the Advent calendars... that's my ONE concession to Advent! As for Holiday_Wishes, I still might do that - I just need one more item to round out the list. Eric also thinks that once you know someone, you always know them: he HAS heard "I used to know this person" before (of course), but thinks that should only be used if they're dead! HAHAHAHAHA, I don't know about THAT! We were talking about sociopaths and my not caring what other people think about my opinions of others... hey, I don't. It's ME! If you can't take it, LEAVE MY LIFE!

Got home and discussed testing tomatoes by eating a pizza from the grocery store, nightshade (Christon and Sheena couldn't figure it out!), weird news, sleep schedules, weights, games, Turkish Delight, cornstarch, Johnny Cash, mice, Weird Al, Judas Priest, songs, some odd band called the Virgin Prunes, his computer being VERY well-equipped to play STARCRAFT 2 and similar games, and more. Teresa says we can "get incepted" on Sunday after church, haha - Henry's been bugging her about it, and wants to come as well. Sounds good as long as she gets him to wait for me after Sunday School. (this means I'll probably have little downtime - church, movie, and then dinner - but I guess it'll be worth it!)

Grad Banquet 2010

Went to the library to return my last library book, spent 15 minutes on the computer there, and then went to Shoppers Drug Mart to get gum - Trident White in bubblemint, pineapple, Excel Mist mango, Pina Colada, spearmint, and peppermint! Things have returned to normal in the Cambie / Jacombs universe since I was later than he was! (I got there at 6:18 since the bus HAD to have problems and delays!) Eric and I talked about Teunis still staying over here, student loans, weights, sunglasses, my being irrationally annoyed at Subway and random pedestrians / drivers, quotes from STARCRAFT 1, the specs of Teunis' computer because he might need to upgrade if he were thinking about STARCRAFT 2 (TWO GIGABYTES OF RAM?!), Jeremy's dinner (we have a ride!), DARKWING DUCK, strangers providing food, and other things on the way to church. He wondered (in song) why I'd even brought my bag if I just wanted to put it in the trunk later, but I explained that I'd had to return library books beforehand!

Things were almost about to start by the time we got to the fellowship hall, but Eric still asked Cindy whether there was anything he could help with. She told him just to sit down and enjoy the evening, so he told me that I might not want to sit with him. Of course, he had to sit at a table containing (among others) Mr. Creep / Raymond / Randal! (he told me later that they were "cool people" - I DON'T THINK SO!) After unsuccessfully trying to get a seat at the front of the room (Grace / Jose / Shally said that Emily Lam could be sitting there - but she was at my table!), I sat with Emily Lam / Joey / Quan / Cordia / Pastor John / Sarah instead.

Said hi to Amanda, the people at my table, Deb, Dylan, Carmen, Lucas, Albert, Wesley, Auntie Catherine, and others during the course of the evening. I avoided Eric's table except for when I told Christon (on the other end of that table) that Teunis and I would both be making it to the dinner. Of course, I told him about Teunis' food allergies / sensitivity, and wasn't really able to explain "nightshade" too well. (I'm not allergic to them, so wouldn't really have much cause to know...) Christon asked Sheena to see if SHE would know, since she's in the plants program - she had no idea, either. Eventually, he said that he'd have to look it up later, but "no tomatoes or Bell peppers" works for a general guideline as the menu right now doesn't have either of those two items on it.

The videos and roasts were pretty cool, even if there were issues with the sound! Quan said that Joyce had worked on most of their video for Cordia (anime / lots of eating / Comic Sans / Miley Cyrus), with Facebook and Hien distracting them - haha, not a surprise! Jonathan and the other guys who roasted Emily Tso evidently didn't really edit their speech: "We were only going to go to Fellowship once a month or so, but then we decided to go every week after seeing HER!" Apparently, the guys didn't realize how that sounded.... then Jonathan said something about someone trying to hook him up with their cousin. Uh, dude... your MOTHER is in attendance!

The Grad Committee got Olivia and her boyfriend to roast each other - apparently, their relationship consists of gaming (STARCRAFT!) and TMI like waxing legs. Okay, then - there are some things we REALLY didn't need to know! J-Mak's roast suffered from the sound issues, but basically everyone pasted a mask of him over their faces and then asked random people questions about him like "Would you ever date this guy?" Mei Lin and Julie did a mutual roast, just like in 2006! We didn't know that Julie's middle name was Melissa, Denise's middle name Ingrid, or Brian's middle name Christopher!

Sarah was surprised when I had black coffee (and had also spent the day hanging around the house, and got her mom's hacked email), Emily says Sam is coming back tomorrow morning, Deb hoped that I didn't have the GIGANTIC Bathroom reader yet (nope) and asked after Teunis (not going back up north since he's literally allergic to the place), Carmen / Deb / I talked about camping / the Philippines / too many people getting married or pregnant these days, and Mike managed to bruise Amanda while whipping a towel in her general direction. "I bruise like a PEACH!" Christon says that Harmony is likely getting burned out with the weddings she has to attend with Jon (Dave's / one in Seattle / one in Kelowna) and then the Italy trip - I'm not surprised! Upon hearing that Jon's an extreme extrovert and Harmony's an introvert, Albert said that opposites attract - so true! He and Christon were also having a talk about unhealthy issues, Asian parental caring, and more.

To hopefully avoid being annoyed by Eric cleaning up for at least 45 minutes after the end of the evening (I had to WAIT), I watched Ivan / Mike / Isaac / Amanda / Citrus / Joey play ping-pong. It didn't really work, partly because Mr. Creep also stayed behind to help with the chairs and such. (he almost injured Cindy when a stack of chairs went tumbling from a wheeled cart!) Mike could blow the ping-pong ball for a bit above his mouth, so of course Amanda had to get video of that! Later, Cindy and Sheena were trying to get us to take leftovers home - no go for me! Eric and I had to wait for Geoffrey to get a rather large salad portion when it looked like Stanley might kick us out. *sigh*

While we were leaving the parkade, Eric told me to roll down my window - he made a STARCRAFT date for an hour or so later with Mike; how cute! Having Geoffrey in the car seriously cramps my conversational style, haha. We did talk about his Houston friend visiting, Pike Place Market, chicken, "cool" people, the skewer special at the Richmond Night Market, getting gas, my bad math, brainfarts, Eric taking me too literally, implied death threats, and more. When Geoffrey was out of the car (we'll see him Sunday), I gave full vent to my feelings about my "friend" (creepers are NOT my friends!) / DARKWING / Batman / the Joker / OOZE / Teunis' perception of Mr. Creep being like someone else we both know. When I said I couldn't wait to have gum (I had some in the foyer even!), Eric joked that I wanted to make my breath kissable - NO! I forgot to tell him that Teunis has a distinct aversion to gum, but maybe on Sunday! We're going early on Sunday since he switched his week to do sound - you can't do that and play on the worship team at the same time! (well, you COULD... just not easily!)

This morning, splitting the difference seemed to work as I only had to wait maybe two minutes for my parents instead of ten! I pretended to be interested in what my mom was saying about stuff I forgot already, but did say hi to my grandma, of course. When we got to the parkade, we saw Darren C. and his cousin Jason H. from Edmonton - always good to see Jason, for sure! He's only back till New Year's Eve, but we spent time briefly chatting about Facebook / the Canucks / Tiger Woods, haha. Joked with Cordia that she was getting her exercise when she was walking around before service, heh. Saw Ben and Erin when they got to service late - they had to borrow my pens twice to write cheques, heh. Christon, Lesley, and Isabel's dad shared about stuff in service.

Talked to Christon, Jen, and Connie about BAD MOVIE NIGHT, and found myself missing Jeremy - at least he has a few days of holiday this year! Gave Gladys a HUGE Ziploc bag full of candy - she gave some to Natalie and Nathan, of course. I later told Hien and Quan that they could have some from them - they thanked me for the thought. Discussed stuff with Jon and Harmony, and confirmed Karmie's phone number with her for tomorrow. Jon said that I could go to Belgian Fries with them since there was no adult Sunday School, but that wouldn't work since Auntie Ying had already seen AND talked to me! Besides, I'd feel bad bailing for the third week in a row. Thanked Deb for her Christmas card, and said hi to Auntie Catherine as well. Mom saw Mr. Creep in the fellowship hall, and asked me: "Is that the person you're afraid of?" Trust me, I'm not AFRAID of him... I just don't LIKE him! There IS a difference!

I saw David enter the fellowship hall, so made a beeline for the doors. He gave me a big smile, and shook my hand in greeting: "Hey, Les!" Then I said that I had another card for him - when I found it and gave it to him, he said that now he felt bad, so he owed me a card. Hahaha, no need! I joked that he was lying about his birthday on Facebook, but he said that he was conforming on there - haha, sounds good! Got Eric to confirm that I remembered / kept track of everyone's birthdays, too. Used the kitchen to wash out my cappuccino cup, since the mix had milk in it... I later said hi to Karen and Lincoln.

Saw some of the kids: Joshua, Keenan, Hannah, Nathaniel, and Abigail were so cute! Calla was holding a baby (and Stanford a baby carrier), so I wondered who it was: Winnie's new baby, Cameron, less than a month old. I said hi to Mattias (with a little animal), who just looked at me the entire time! When his mom Karen put him down so she could perhaps hold the new baby, he didn't like it and started crying! Asked Melia how things had gone on Christmas, and she offered me a box of random stuff that they gave to the kids: hahaha, no thanks! I got Eric's attention while saying hi to Yvonne - she definitely wanted weird Santas and stockings! Also discussed Christmas with Stanley, Sheena, Auntie Susan, and others.

Went upstairs to toddler Sunday School, where Amos and Harrison tried convincing me that they weren't there by hiding under the tables. It's not going to work if they make noise or if I can see their feet sticking out from there! Gave Amanda a card, candy cane, and two sticker sheets - I stuck to a card for Amos since he said he couldn't eat peppermint. Never heard of peppermint allergies, but if he doesn't want to get in trouble, I won't give one to him OR Harrison, who cited the same thing. Rachel's grandma unexpectedly gave me a package of NO SUGAR ADDED chocolate chip cookies, which I thanked her for. The class went well, I guess - the kids seemed attentive for a few minutes, anyway.

When I went downstairs, I said hi to Citrus / Vivian / her cousin Darren L. / Gabriel. Had to wait around for my parents to finish stuff - my mom told me that I was rude for asking where we were going for lunch while she was talking to someone else. Hey, I just wanted to know! While waiting, I talked to Ada about Christmas, and to her sons Ian and Sean about crackers and such - I noted that Sean's top had Engrish on it, hahaha. I deliberately delayed the parents when we were going to leave the church - I got out Steph's guestbook before putting my stuff in the car trunk. (it is called PAYBACK!) We met Steph at Mui's - apparently, the delivery people forgot about her bed, so she got free bedsheets and pillows out of it. Dad advised her to be more nasty next time, haha.

Good thing I gave Steph her guestbook when I saw her, since she only had fifteen minutes for lunch before work! Mom thought that I could use the lunch leftovers of porkchops and spaghetti for lunch tomorrow since it would save me money. I didn't bother telling her that I had lunch plans already, since that would make her believe that Lesley was looking after me, and then cause her to give me a guilt trip like "People are SO NICE to you! You should be like that!" I prefer my sanity, thanks!

We HAD to go to London Drugs so she could buy on-sale candy / Christmas items, and when I expressed impatience, she told me that I could walk or take the bus home if I didn't like it! Well, SOME people have to PEE, you know! Stupid woman... no wonder I want to decrease time spent with her. Then she got melodramatic when they FINALLY dropped me off: "Don't you miss your parents after not seeing them for FIVE DAYS?! Before that, it was TWO WEEKS! Don't you cry yourself to sleep? It'll be TWO WHOLE DAYS before we see each other again, and Mom will MISS YOU!" No, I don't cry myself to sleep! Finally got home so I could have RELIEF, in more ways than one!

When I got into the car this morning, my mom said that she'd given me a bag with two bowls of instant noodles inside. The other bag was for Jon, and that had newspapers and Chinese grapefruit. She said stuff about Auntie Anita and money, but I was too tired to really focus on too much. I'll have to look more into those websites when I'm reasonably awake, that's for sure! In the parkade, she said I could leave my blue bag in the car if I didn't need it - why would I bring a whole bag along if I didn't have any use for it during the usual Sunday morning routine?!!! CRAZY.

I saw Randal talking to Mr. Creep, and I had to not sit in my usual pew section because of that... UGH! Honestly, I didn't want to soak up CREEP VIBES! Instead, I sat by Martin (behind Kevin and Raymond, and in front of Gabriel / Eric L. / Rich / others) - we talked for a little about what we'd done yesterday. Cantonese stuff DOES sound draining to me, haha. I noted that a Chinese fellowship was selling shirts as a church fundraiser, and was amused at the bulletin mention of "female sizes" and "male sizes" - I gotta keep it to show Jeremy on Friday or whenever I see him next! Asked Vania if she had really linked me to Stuff White People Like last night on Facebook, and she said she had - it was like getting the book for FREE, haha!

After service, I gave Jon his bag of stuff from Mom, then headed out into the foyer and the fellowship hall... of course I *had* to take advantage of the coffee available! Talked to Chrystal (about Sunday School and not wanting to disturb her sister's small group - THE BOX is a bad movie!), Eric M. (about rescuing Sheena from Mr. Creep), Lily, her daughter Hannah, Lesley, Anita, her daughter Allison (about Oreos), Winnie (about her kids' possible reaction to New Baby), and more people. Sheena has this project about how to use Jericho Beach as a cemetery, and then try to integrate that with all the beach's other uses... very interesting stuff. She told me and Karmie that it was kinda hard without her mom around to provide meal planning and emotional support, since she's in China for three weeks to see family and old friends. Sounds exciting, since she hasn't been there in thirty years! But I can understand why it's hard for Sheena and her family, too... Karmie says HER daughter Hannah felt just like that when she was in Toronto for a week! (yes, I know... multiple girls named Hannah - it gets confusing :P)

In toddler Sunday School, it was just Amanda and Conor, drawing various things. I told them about the talking donkey in the Bible, and I hope they remembered it. They agreed that they'd be scared if they saw a talking donkey! Conor told me things about his imagination, and Amanda said that she liked drawing hearts. Auntie Ying said that she would be away for a week later this month, and said that she'd call me later in the week, maybe Wednesday. She said that Rachel's grandma would be there to help, and I could enlist Auntie Bessy's help if I felt I needed it. Right now, I think it should be okay... but then we'll see what happens with six or more kids, haha! She also gave me some Maynard's candy - Fuzzy Peach, Fruit Mania, Swedish Berries, and Sour Patch Kids! (and some stats on the kids)

After that, I went downstairs to see Jen and others making plans for lunch. She had a time crunch problem, so they decided to go to Pho. Christon told me that nothing was going on, but then I managed to learn that Mr. Creep was going along. I decided to join them because I wanted to look after Harmony, since Jon wouldn't be joining them because of a presentation. At the restaurant, I sat as far away as possible from Mr. Creep and avoided looking him directly in the eye. I had a feeling that he would steal my soul if he did, because eyes are the window to the soul... I only spoke to him to be polite when he poured me tea. (but then he was doing it for everyone) Dylan's wife Deb joined us later, and I asked her how church had been - her church had had a combined service because of an anniversary. He also addressed me by name when he was asking the table how good they were with directions - DO YOU NOT NOTICE THE "DON'T TALK TO ME!" VIBE?!!!!!

I coped by looking out the door, focusing only on Dylan and Deb, trying not to look at Mr. Creep (who even addressed me by NAME!), and other things. Saw Auntie Tracy, so sat at her table to tell her briefly how toddler Sunday School was going... ah, an escape! Discussed Sunday School, history, art and music as differing values, Singapore cruises, and some more stuff which I don't recall. Tried tuning out the other side of the table, but I still know they talked about jobs and such. At least I had verbal confirmation that Mr. Creep works at a school... YIKES! Jon STILL hadn't shown up by 2, so we left after getting some food for him.

I was glad to be out of the restaurant, and was uncomfortable even with Mr. Creep saying "God Bless You guys!" Just STOP talking!!!! Christon dropped me and Harmony off at the church, then decided to come inside to see how Jon's presentation had gone. Turns out that he had a sub, and hadn't had time to call Harmony to tell her so because the Missions Committee had started their questions right after he'd finished eating. It seems to have gone relatively well in that they'll offer their monetary support. They discussed ARCT, the "list" of theory pieces and the syllabus, the iTunes $10 "price error" on classical music, the MOONLIGHT SONATA, movements, and other things.

Jon and Harmony dropped me off at King Edward Station since Broadway was NUTS - so understood! They wondered why I was at lunch, so I said I had to protect my family. I still don't like Mr. Creep at all, to which they said "Oh, Sarne..." Well, it's true! Jon says that Mr. Creep isn't an idiot, and would notice my not looking at him or whatever - I don't really care at this point. Just keep him away from the kids and my friends! I decided to go to Shoppers Drug Mart to see if they had oven cleaner OR cheap boxed Christmas cards - they had neither, so I was off to London Drugs. While there, I saw a display with CHEAP cards... one box of 18 for $1 or $2?! I got that instead of one for 99 cents. (which would have been for Great-Aunt) I also got some EasyOff oven cleaner, which I now can't open! UGH! Just how strong do people think the average thumb is, doubled?!

Got home and briefly talked to Billie; also, I took a phone call from my mom. Then I bantered with Corey - Andrew asked me who Mr. Creep was, so I told him. He thinks I should give him a chance... um, no, perhaps not...

Then she invited me out for bubble tea at e.tea (on Rupert) tonight with her and Karmie (turned out to be the women's group) - sure, why not? Jon emailed us about a ramen Sunday dinner which Christon's all excited about - he was having beer with him and Jeremy tonight, apparently.

UGH! The computer restarted right when I stepped away from it for a moment to get some frozen fruit for lunch! This morning, I finished all my Word Twist games before heading to church - this way, I can focus hardcore on the LOCATION project, if real life doesn't interfere! Also noted that Kyle had added me to Facebook, which is cool enough. Eric picked me up shortly after 9:15, and asked if I was prepared for Raymond and Randal both to be at the dinner tonight. I thought he was joking about Raymond (I knew about Randal's being there), but he said he wasn't.We also discussed other things of a random nature (Joey / bananas for breakfast / Jasmine at the dinner? / Yazmine mishearing / the Night Market!), like morons who wish to cross in the middle of a busy road, and stupid drivers.

When we got to church, I saw Wesley when I crossed the road. Nice to see him these days! Accidentally punched someone in the arm because I thought she was my sister, albeit NOT in her usual spot - oops. Then I thought Calla might be my sister since I only saw her from the back - then again, I revised that when I saw the girl was sitting right next to a guy who kinda looked like Stanford. What the heck is wrong with my vision?! I definitely saw some aunties and uncles, Emily (who I sat beside), Joey, Ivan, Jon, Harmony, Fidela, Clement, Justin, Brian, Julie, and others!

After Phil's sermon on guilt / confession, I asked Fidela what the "dangle and sweep" was all about from Erin's bachelorette dinner. She told me that it had to do with making your boobs bigger ("just sweep your area near your elbow!"), and wondered why Steph hadn't just told me when I'd asked. I said that it probably had to do with mixed company at the family dinner since it would have been kinda awkward to say that in front of Dad and Jon! Apparently, Eunice had joked that she'd try it for a month's trial! Then I saw my dad, and told Fidela that he was now 60 - her dad is hitting that mark next year, apparently! She's heading to the Dominican Republic soon, too! Said hi to Jen before heading into the fellowship hall to smile at baby Gavin. He wanted to eat his dad's bag strap, haha! Luckily, Lee got him some watermelon instead while I had some grapes and a nut cookie. Someone asked me if I'd seen Randal since they needed to tell him something - nope, but I saw him upstairs later. I figured he could find the person himself, hahaha.

Talked to Connie about what she'd done for her birthday, which she shares with her sister Jenny. She saw the Art Gallery with her sister Winnie's family, is having a family dinner, and her friends surprised her at her apartment with cake and flowers while she was taking a shower! Went outside the fellowship hall to talk to baby Allison, who was having fun because Daniel was lifting her up in the air! Said hi to Joshua and Keenan - Keenan just ran to his dad Tim, heh. Greeted Jeremy, Jon (who gave me the $10 he and Harmony owe me toward Grandma's grad banquet ticket - I might end up giving it back to him tonight for the dinner), and Harmony - if the family dinner is changed, it doesn't matter to me! Negotiated with Vanessa, who will give me the ticket when I have the money next week - makes sense, since I forgot my wallet this morning as I left for church. Since Jen was asking Nathan about ride arrangements tonight, I asked him if his car was full - it wasn't, so he can swing by and pick me up. Yes, I'm still in the same place with the rats - how unfortunate!

I also said hi to baby Noah, who looked like he wanted to go upstairs... then talked briefly to his aunt Janet who's here from Toronto. (Stella's sister) Since Sunday School started early, I went upstairs to have some actual kid interaction. Mentally counted the number of kids - the twins David and Evelyn, Charissa, Caleb, Asher, Arthur, and Amanda made seven - and was thankful that I had eight white chocolate cookies to a Ziploc bag. Talked about blue / yellow / red Lego, Ripley's Believe It Or Not! (I should let Auntie Fonda borrow one of my books!), ambidextrous people, water, "bad people," David being cute when he wanted his sister to finish her cookie RIGHT NOW (so he attempted to pack it up for her AND brought her some shoes), and more stuff. After Sunday School, Cindy asked if I'd seen Sheena - nope!

Met Eric on the stairs, who was looking for me. In the spirit of yet more random time, I told him to hang on while I told my mom (out of courtesy) that I was going home with him. Then I saw Sheena - it happened that Cindy was right behind me as I was giving her the information that she was looking for her! Got distracted by Sean reading the Walkathon poster out loud to himself - I helped him with the hard words! Later, Jon and Eric were talking about tonight's dinner, the Night Market, honeymoon photos, and stuff they needed to get - no beef, no burgers, maybe salad, probably cheese or more sophisticated beer, no mushrooms and such, etc. Mom mentioned that Steph's friend Chantel was in town - I had noted that in the email exchange. Who knows if they're coming tonight, heh - Steph apparently got only two hours' sleep! Discussed a disability tax-free savings account bond for more than $1000 a year (I should talk to Andrea's mom about that, apparently), prawns, fish, salmon steaks, and more. Made plans with Andrea to call her tomorrow instead of tonight, since I was going over to the White Man's house for the barbecue. (sounds so racist, but we're not being that way!)

Eric and I left pretty soon after that, and he said that we'd be boiled alive in the car! Joked about my MORTAL DANGER book - no, the title didn't contain DEATH / MURDER / BLOOD! Talked about evil people in general, the Granville Island scavenger hunt next Friday for Fellowship (then hanging at Nathan's), the stinking hot weather all week long, Vanessa, overbuying chips at Superstore a couple weeks back, Szechuan / General Tao chicken, NOT eating four bags of chips and one package of cookies in two nights, and more. When I got home, I mused that it might be time to buy some new shorts in dark or light colors - maybe later! Also made sleepover plans with Billie for August 10-11, since I have to look after Grandma for two weeks from the 12th onward. Nice to accomplish some things, at least!

My family picked me up this morning, and I settled in to listen to Jon talking to Harmony on the phone. Apparently, she's in Toronto for another wedding... the conversation covered Jon H., friends, pain, weddings, and other things. When he got off the phone, I asked him what he did to her. "Nothing! She got it in Europe!" Dad gave him some advice about how they should be together right now - well, weddings and such can't be helped. Good thing that listening to what Jon said distracted me from other things, haha. Said hi to Rosenda and her sons Ian (who waved and said hi before going into the elevator) and Gabriel in a double stroller - I knew I had to wear my Awana uniform today, so it was a good thing I carry it with me! Sat with Jeremy again after going down from the second floor, and was amused by a mention of Japadogs (Japanese hot dogs) in the bulletin.

Talked to Sheena, some kids who were chasing Margaret around, Ian and Sean ("36! S! R! S!" while writing "The 15 Mins." on the board), Dylan, Jon, Jeremy, Karen, baby Mattias (Anne and baby cookies), baby Allison, Jeff, Anita, and others. Hugged Chuck goodbye - he thanked me for being a good friend to Andrea. Of course! Nathan had some seven-year-old cheddar that he was trying - after he said that it reminded him of durian, Jen and I didn't want to try it! Saw Erin and Denise, so talked to them a little. (reminds me, I still have to RSVP to Erin's reception thing...)

Went upstairs to look after the kids: Amanda, Amos, Arthur, and Esther were all right just playing. When they got too loud, I took the books and toys away - Lego is a pursuit which is somewhat quieter! They liked pretending Jenga blocks were strawberry / chocolate / vanilla / peach desserts. Auntie Fonda was talking to Rachel's grandma, and was still weepy as I assume she's mourning the death of her cat. (she explained this to them as "I'm not happy.") I didn't mind just watching the kids - she was obviously not in the right frame of mind to tell the kids a Bible story! She thanked me later for just being there - hey, whatever I can do to make it easier! Yes, I did get her messages on MSN, and am not surprised that she closed the program right away when she heard her boss coming! Arthur talked a lot to me about Thomas, Gordon, Lady, and other characters from THOMAS THE TANK... Amos actually brought some figures along, and told me that he had the DVD at home!

After that, I went downstairs to see what Jon was doing - Mom tried telling me stuff, but I was too focused on my brother, haha. I told my brother what I was doing later, so I decided to take the bus home. Jon and Nathan went out of the church later, and said something about Pho lunch - we went to Pho Thai Son. On the way there, Nathan decided to call Chinese Eric on his temporary number, but got no answer. We didn't have all the time in the world to arrange a get-together, as Jon observed. Since we kinda had to be chasing him down, it was a good thing that Eric's mom answered when Nathan tried his house number! He was disappointed that he wouldn't be seeing "the happy couple," but we figured that tomorrow works for all of us as a dinner date. Looks like we'll be trying Burgoo - soups and stews of comfort, oh my!

Over Pho, we discussed the media's treatment of Michael Jackson - he was weird and perverted in life, but now he's SO GOOD and THE KING OF POP in death! Jeremy wondered whether nursing is truly vegan, since humans are technically animals. I mentioned that I'd been reading up on it, and the vegans say it's fine since it's cruelty-free. (or something) We both didn't know about the technicalities - oh well. Nathan and Jon joked about Ponzi schemes, percentages, services, and other things. Jon mentioned that Harmony didn't know that 70s SEXY music was what it was - she just liked the oral sounds of it! Talked about "seductive" power naps, poor Terrence's Facebook status, smoky eateries in Europe, great terraces in Budapest, and other things too before the guys went to get Jon's keys prior to the Jazz Festival.

I experienced great bus luck on a Sunday of all days - I didn't have to wait for any of the three buses I took to get home! Got home, fielded a good message from Vanessa H., and noticed that a prospective landlady had called. I returned the call and was out again within ten minutes. The Ironwood area is cool - unfortunately, I ripped the wooden gate off its hinges because it was stuck. There go my chances at that place, although I didn't know I was that strong! Probably it was old - I didn't want to just waltz in the open garage door! She wanted references and such, especially since she had a few more people interested. "I was going to take the ad off the Internet when you called!"

When I got back to Richmond Centre (with the same bus driver who'd taken me to Ironwood in the first place), I was so thirsty that I went to Shoppers to get two iced teas, which were on sale anyway. Then I took some money out of the bank for tomorrow or later because I was near an ATM. Saw David Shaler smoking a cigarette outside, who said that he'd give me a townhouse because he was building them at Garden City / Westminster with Donald Trump. "You believe me, right?" Haha... we'll see if you're gonna be in the news! (he has a lot of these proclamations, like the one where Joe Biden was going to take him to Washington, or the one where he's a direct descendant of Jesus Christ :P) Finished the two iced teas in ten minutes, then headed home to discuss things with Billie and Corey. Saturday plans sound pretty good!

I am not the catalyst behind the Russian volcano eruption!

Eric almost totally forgot about the Committee meeting tonight - that's priceless amusement! Called Dylan to advise him that we'd be really late, and to start without us. When Eric called me ten minutes later to tell me that he was on his way here to pick me up, I was still laughing - this caused him to ask whether I was okay. Of course! Hahahaha!

On the way there, we discussed various things such as his joking contention that I was responsible for some woman going into labor at the new Golden Ears bridge yesterday because I farted. Also discussed Oscar's, Maxine being an audiologist, ear doctors, my needing psychiatric help, chain reactions, saying "apartment" really quickly, leaving without me again (I saw him turn in as I came out - NOT TRUE), microwaves (his leftover dinner made me hungry even though I'd eaten already), his initially wondering why I'd called since yesterday's lunch made him completely forget about the meeting for some reason, his mom's reaction (being later is NOT a good thing!), and other stuff.

The meeting itself was fine - discussed Granville Island, money, restaurants, Gillis, exorbitant prices of things like knives on wedding registries, gifts NOT being brought to the States, Dylan's wedding, Alan and Tracy's wedding, and internal stuff. Johnny jokingly suggested a topless car wash as a church fundraising idea - NOT the image you want to project, man! Pastor John brought up venture capitalists, while Kevin just wanted to figure things out so he could write them down with the correct dates. I have at least three free nights in the next couple of months: June 26 (Eric's high school reunion), July 3 (Summer Conference), and July 24 (church picnic the next day) - those will be good, especially if I can get together with people! If not, downtime is on the agenda.

I also know that Sam's going to Manitoba to study law for two years (poor Emily Lam!), and that grad banquet is on Mike's birthday this year. Discussed Christon, Cindy, Dianne, barbecues, Sheena, Jason, Brian, Karen Choo, Janette, Nathan's move to England, and more also. On the way home, we discussed free nights / Jon's honeymoon / getting busy / the EVIL one / messages / crazy randomness / labeled parking spots / that Russian volcano explosion in the news / Utah's Black Diamond Equipment being robbed by someone looking for diamonds instead of sports equipment / avoiding people / Chuck / Emily Choi / rides / being premature / more stuff. Interesting times, for sure!
