Cora's at Ironwood, huge crepes, sourdough, hand creams, EB Games, and more!

Got up at 8:20, even though I couldn't sleep till after 3:30 AM. That's what coffee is for, to make me feel remotely human! Vanessa sent me a FB message to say she'd be by just after 9. As advertised, she picked me up for breakfast at Cora's in Ironwood. The crepes were indeed huge, and the place looked bright and sunny for children! I had one with mounds of fresh fruit (strawberries / kiwis / bananas / oranges) plus chocolate spread - Jen's Wayne and Vanessa were surprised that I finished it! Talked about health issues, brain aneurysms, brain tumors, Canada Day, memory issues, treatment, Ladner, sourdough toast, jam, screenshots, latex / gelatin allergies, smoking, gas prices, personal stuff, banking, homemade soap (winter mint / vanilla?), Victoria, spina bifida, 50 SHADES OF GREY, 7-11, Segways, walking, Richmond Centre, and more. It was nice seeing Jen and Wayne again, for sure!

I had to get hand cream at Bath & Body Works since we went to Richmond Centre later... it was 3 for $10, when they're normally $5 each for a little 59 mL tube! Midnight Pomegranate, Fresh Lemon, and White Citrus... :D Since we were there, I also went to Sears again to get more JESSICA knee socks - 3 for $10! Went to EB Games to see if Vanessa could find BUST-A-MOVE... nope, but I did see OBLIVION for $14.99! Not that I play that game, but it was just interesting to note. :P Kim went to Tim Horton's to get a raspberry lemonade before they dropped me off.

Weekly tradition! / Yvonne / SOMETHING AWFUL / Stone statues!

I've missed the weekly tradition, and now that I have peace and quiet, I'll go right back to it since it's been way too long from late May to August... and I also included Chinese Eric on the FAT DRAGON email thread! Replied to Mandy's emails this morning; yes, a certain person IS an idiot! (weekly tradition people seem to think much worse - but I'd agree; DOUCHE!) Vanessa got on MSN to tell me that she and Kim were looking at Cora's breakfast at around 9 or 10 on MONDAY; sounds good. I found a great LP thread on Something Awful for DRAGON QUEST V!

After the events of the Demon Tower, the Hero and his wife Bianca are turned into stone statues!

Christine, Scrabble, Itamar, perverts, dispelling RETURN!

Christine sent me a FB message, wondering if I ever played Scrabble. I used to with Scrabulous / Wordscraper / Lexulous, that's for sure! Eric sent us an email about the BBQ on the 7th (I gotta reply to the Evite), this Sunday's prayer time for the long-term viability of the group (I suspect I'll be at Cora's with Vanessa and Kim then), and there being NO OFFICIAL PROGRAM tomorrow - YES! Never mind the religious-based "gathering" stuff... it just means a free night to TRY getting Chinese Eric on the phone, hahahaha! Also, he mentioned SETTLERS OF CATAN, which now always makes me think of Itamar. :D

Old man in the Nameless Mountain Village tavern at night: "Just once, just once in my life, I'd like to know what's it like to take a bath. Fo fo fo."

People in the hot springs think we're perverts! "You came to this hot springs to do something perverted, didn't you?" If you say no, she replies: "Well, of course... hot springs are very good for the health." A "yes" answer gets you "Oh! You pervert!"

"Oh! You pervert!"

Perverted old man in the hot springs: "Oooh! B... Bianca! Are you here to bathe in the hot springs, too? *drown glug glug* "

We try casting RETURN in Port Selmi, but a magical force dispels it!

Soldier in Ruraphin: "Dammit! The roads in this city are so annoyingly complicated." (and they certainly ARE!)

The innkeeper in Oracle Valley: "Someone better take these folks to their comfy beds before I start handing out pink slips!"

The hero and Bianca on the way to their Salabona wedding, financed by Master Ludman. I didn't have the heart to choose his daughter Flora instead:

Food Network with Grandma / Trail mix!

Grandma, on the Food Network: "They don't have to pay any money for the breakfast food. Are you hungry? You can eat this for free!"

Went to visit Grandma today for about an hour or so; for some reason, she thought I'd like to eat everything on the Food Network. Sure, but not now! She also asked why Jon wasn't there, said that she didn't want to eat fried chicken, objected to the open door (but it's HOT OUTSIDE!), and was all right just sitting in her wheelchair watching TV. When I left before everything on the Food Network made me want to eat everything on the screen (one show was even set in Vancouver!), she asked whether I wanted to sleep there! Nope, I had things to do! I figured I might as well visit her on Thursday instead of tomorrow since I'll be out anyway: I should be fine if I leave here by 4, and leave there by 5:30 to get to Langara Station on time. Hopefully, anyway...

Got some trail mix at the People's Drug Mart across the street as a slightly healthier edible birthday present for Chinese Eric, as I've been known to give him a metric buttload of chocolate before, most notably at Easter and maybe Christmas. I decided to combine that with the rest of the Werther's Originals since I can't / shouldn't eat the rest of those! (like HE should?! :P) Also got a Cadbury Dark Burnt Almond chocolate bar for my immediate consumption, since I was afraid it might melt in the heat. Went to London Drugs and got on-sale whiteout x3, on-sale Maltesers, on-sale chocolate coins for Eric, an on-sale mango / pineapple juice, and on-sale peanut butter truffle chocolate bars x2. (I'm keeping one of the truffle bars for myself, while the other can go to Chinese Eric) Put the stuff in the fridge when I got home, of course.

Saying goodbye to Yvonne, vase breaking, and Havarti

Good thing I checked my trash folder this morning, since Mom has stated that Yvonne is leaving soon, and I could go to Dogwood to see Grandma and say goodbye to Yvonne. That lined up with my own plans - thank goodness I finished copying and pasting enemy names to my draft posts at 2:30 AM, and finally finished the tag lists at 3 PM! Finally finished the bagels and wafers, along with the FARMHOUSE rice. Called Steph to advise her of my plans; I'm sure I'll meet their new dog Havarti soon, even if Big G didn't like the dog licking her face in greeting! My vase from Elizabeth (which I've been using to store laundry money) broke, too! I've had that for more than ten years! Managed to buy a clear case at the drug mart across the street from Dogwood, which was less than $1.75 - very affordable!

Saw Yvonne, William, and Andrea in Big G's room with Mom - Grandma was trying on some new shoes in her wheelchair. Talked a bit to Andrea, who said they'd gone to Whistler and did some shopping, and were leaving tomorrow at 1. I'm sure she was bored, but there's nothing to be done about that. Took some photos, and tried getting Grandma to walk a few steps; that would have been fine, except she fell down! Luckily, Dad was there to grab her! Andrea gave me a piece of peach Hi-Chew candy, prompted by her mom. I told her that I'd save it for later, heh. An angry person is living there who has an infectious disease... AIYA! When we said bye to Grandma (who thought she was in a hotel or at home - a floating hotel!), Yvonne was crying afterwards. That totally makes sense! At least I got a ride home; Mom wants me to go visit Big G at least once a week, which of course I shall do! Now. it's back to DRAGON WARRIOR III!

Sober / drunk convos, omelettes, discharges, and Kaiser bread

Replied to Mandy's email before I went to bed last night and before I had a "sober / drunk" conversation. Lillian picked me up at 8:50, saving me from further awkward analysis of that interaction! We got to the hospital, and tried convincing Grandma to eat some oatmeal. She thought she was at home, since she wondered where Jon was and who would cook! The discharge to Dogwood went well, and yes, we hope never to see those people again! I went to a café across the street called Dylan's (hahaha), and had an omelette with toast and hash browns while dumping all my change on them; I also brought back a breakfast sandwich for Lillian. She later tried telling me to take it myself, but I'm not a fan of Kaiser bread. We had to see Mom and Dad later, but I elected to go home with Lillian. Good thing, too - I needed some time alone, and also had to call white Eric to make arrangements for tonight. Sure, I could walk to Dylan and Deb's, but it's really hot out!

Toilet handle / Moogle Village! / New Bal shops

I called Hester about the toilet handle this morning; she and her husband came to take a look just now, but they didn't have any new parts to replace the lever. Maybe the plumber or handyman can do it this week, or at least I hope so. She asked me some questions about breakfast / lunch / dinner / family, observed that I'd lost weight because my face was smaller (?), and thought that the asshole Paul was my boyfriend - THANK GOODNESS, NO! Apparently, he'd mentioned to her that he worked for the police station... WHAT A LIAR! I don't go for tattooed ex-cons, thanks!

It's the Moogle Village in Galuf's world! (the party is wearing a Moogle Costume that they found in one of the trees) They're so cute! :D

Welcome to the newest shop in Castle Bal! Unfortunately, your party gets forcefully thrown out by the REAL merchants, but they give you a Lamia's Harp.

Thousand-piece puzzles, LDDUDE HOUR, Mattias being funny

The power finally came back on at 9:20, right after I'd called Steph to see what was up since I got really bored! She was doing a thousand-piece puzzle, which should be good if Lisa helps. Then I called Auntie Catherine, but Mattias told me that she was in the washroom, hahahaha. Later, I called Chinese Eric: we discussed relying too much on electricity, EXTREME COUPONING / HOARDERS / MY STRANGE ADDICTION, cellphones, payphones, technology, toothpaste, consumer goods (hit the hoarders' houses when the Zombie Apocalypse happens!), Hong Kong, Russia, travel, Jon and Harmony (sleepy?) and baby Ayler (pictures!), Facebook, looking things up online, baby knowledge, the one-month baby banquet, kids saying weird things, going to the movies, perhaps hanging out this weekend (hinges on parental stuff), yesterday's Stanley Cup, personifying objects such as Cabbage Patch Kids or mannequins (creepy!), Canucks news and speculation, eighth seed winning the Cup, Montreal, Florida, Luongo, Schneider, and more. Now, THAT was an awesome and "WOW" conversation which lasted almost an hour! Decided to finally call Auntie Catherine back (Uncle Y.C. answered), and it turns out we're meeting at the Copa Café with Mattias and Marcus - yay! (on Friday MORNING at 11 - oh well) Had to restart FINAL FANTASY V ADVANCE when I was 19 hours in - stupid breath timers! Not sure how I did the sunken Tower of Walse / Famed Mimic Gogo last time under the same conditions...

BAGS RIPPING / Unopened packages / Heavy apple juice

After having some dumplings for breakfast and getting sucked into TV Tropes, I went out in the rain to do some banking (got $60 for parental Vegas funds), get mango BBT from Big Orange, and buy iced tea / pink Excel gum (one new pack for my trip, and one for myself) / lotion (new George's moist hand cream) / light bulbs (four packs) / a Canucks NHL lip balm thing for Siobhan / new hand sanitizer for my trip / two on-sale lip balms for my trip (security can't say anything if it's in an unopened package, can they?) / on-sale apple juice at London Drugs. It was uneventful except for a cute teen smiling at me while I was on my way to London Drugs from the bank, a cute little red-haired girl on the bus who reminded me of Anne of Green Gables, and MY DAMNED BAG STRAPS RIPPING WHEN I GOT OFF THE BUS! Ugh, now I have to get new ones next month or so! That also meant I had to carry the heavy thing home - at least a guy asked me whether I'd gotten the bag okay, but still. Blah!

LONDON is not a baby name!

I was awake before Grandma; that's a first! Grandma's first question to me: "Where are your parents? Did your mom go to work?" No, you just have memory issues and don't know that they went on a cruise. Helped her with breakfast and the plants, then watched MAKE ROOM FOR MULTIPLES - one of these girl twins is named LONDON?! (the other is Layla) Grandma thinks 4:30 is too early for dinner. Too bad, as we have a Canucks-Wild game to watch! Also, Jon's teaching piano is apparently directly related to Harmony's pregnancy. HAHAHAHA!

PRIEST WHITE?! / Visiting Grandma at Respite

Today, I watched CRIMINAL MINDS / THE FIRST 48 (one of which was about a black boy named PRIEST WHITE - that's a bad name!) / CSI, and ate some muffins. Heard that it was snowing around Vancouver; OH SHIT. Left at 1 to visit Grandma at the respite centre, but made a very brief stop at home to throw stuff out. I experienced good bus timing and efficiency, though!

Got to the respite centre (where there was only one Chinese old person unlike yesterday when Jon stopped by), but made a brief stop at the nearby Killarney Market to buy Grandma three oranges. She seemed pleased with the oranges and the shrimp crackers I bought her yesterday, calling me "good." Watched parts of PALM SPRINGS WEEKEND and A PLACE FOR LOVERS on Turner Classic Movies while reminding her and the workers about our dinner tomorrow night. Grandma wanted me to eat dinner there, and thought tomorrow's dinner would involve Auntie Eva - nope, just us! Due to some stupid buses, I got back at 6:30 wanting something WARM. Noodle soup it is!

Losing an hour of sleep SUCKS / INTERVENTION and HOARDERS

Watched wedding shows like FOUR WEDDINGS and GIRL MEETS GOWN on SLICE till I fell asleep last night, bitching about losing an hour of sleep. Somebody's dog had to bark at an extremely early hour, then I had to deal with incessant phone calls from Eric. After telling him that I hated him, I ignored all the other ones. Unfortunately, I got up early ANYWAY - FUCK! Veronica said he'd left already at 8:30 - he's nuts, but at least I don't have to deal with fake people! Then I watched MILLIONAIRE MATCHMAKER while having noodles with turkey. After that, I watched INTERVENTION CANADA on TV TROPOLIS about a guy with ADHD and Tourette's who's addicted to oxycodone, which is like heroin. Now, it's HOARDERS and MY STRANGE ADDICTION!

Chronological inconsistencies, Eiffel Tower, flying into mesh (dream) / Evite

I must be strong in the midst of various things going on! Grace, Denise, and Tracy sent me an Evite to a double baby shower for Harmony and Jane, which is taking place in about a month on a Sunday... I guess I'll have to play all the games! *sigh* I also learned that I only have to look after Grandma for the 18th and the 19th, since the respite centre found space for her before then. This is good news; I hardly think I'll have a reason to drag my laptop to the townhouse then! Also had some buttermilk pancakes in honor of Mardi Gras / Fat Tuesday, hahaha.

Vanessa got on MSN to invite me to a reservation for late-night sushi (9:30-ish) with Wayne on Friday. They'll pick me up, too. That actually does sound good from a money and time standpoint, especially with the weekly tradition and the hockey game in mind! Of course, I thanked her for the invite. Gives me yet another excuse to not make it out to Fellowship, which means I should tell Eric at some point. Of course, another couple will be coming - meh, I can deal. :D

I had a weird dream which started out with my family being in Paris and inside the Eiffel Tower. There were all these mini souvenirs just lying around on the beige floors, and we were tempted to take some since they were various representations of the tower in various forms. We almost took a couple, but ultimately decided not to since we didn't want to appear like thieves. Upon exiting the tower, we were told to go down a ramp on the bottom floor which would spit us out into the parking lot. I couldn't do it, so Jon (looking as he did when he was three years old) and Grandma (in a mini naked form - I don't want to know!) decided to go with me as I ran into some black mesh separator, as seen on a screen by an elevator. We went flying off the mesh, and onto the bottom floor near escalators.

After that, I saw Eric M. out on a bench - he wanted to join us, and we had no problem with that. Grandma wanted to buy things from an outdoor supermarket, so we took her there. All the freezers and bags were outside, while some bread and such was inside. We were about to select a bunch of items when we were stopped by some workers with green aprons. They said that we weren't allowed to bring any naked people onto the premises, even if they were really tiny. We tried to argue with the workers, but to no avail. So then we met up with Jen in the store's underground parking lot, which is another time inconsistency - we didn't meet her until 2000! Dad told Mom to just go home while he took me, Eric, Jen, and Jon to the movies.

Then we went to the parking lot, which had fast-moving white cars and white lanes all over the place. We went to another crowded store which apparently was just one room, full of frozen food from Safeway. This was apparently going to be our dinner, which would be fine since the movie (something about a DARK KNIGHT prequel? TIME INCONSISTENCY!) started at 7:30. However, I noticed a sign saying that we'd be locked in the room at 7:16 even if people hadn't finished paying for / selecting the food. This was supposedly to preserve the food's integrity, despite it all being in freezers! The store clerks told us not to worry about it, so we turned our attention to selecting various bags and packages.

Finally, we made our way to the checkout line. Tim, Maxine, Joshua, and Keenan were there also. (Emma wasn't born yet in the dream, but the other two shouldn't have been there with the time!) They said hi, and gave me my birthday presents: a foam puzzle, a Matthew Good CD, and more merchandise. For some reason, I had to pay for those! The dream ended when we left the store with lots of food. WEIRD AND CRAZY! Not even sure what the triggers would be for this one, unless it was seeing some DARK KNIGHT RISES movie promo!

Turning on the heat / Egyptian goddesses

Last night, I had to turn on the heat as I put a bunch of chocolate in Ziploc bags before putting it in the fridge - I couldn't stand the cold anymore! Since I also told Eric that if I were awake / with it enough, I'd go to church, I guess I'm going today since I was awake at 7 and up half an hour later. (also discovered redrum - THANK GOD FOR REINFORCEMENTS!) I also banned someone this morning from GJ RQ, after making a Nutella sandwich for breakfast. :D

Pancreas, lungs, and tripe with noodles! / Glasses fixing

Jon sent us an email saying there'd be a Sunday Dinner to celebrate Eric's 30th birthday - fine, I guess I'll go, hahaha. One thing I *won't* go to is Bible Study tonight; last time, I was totally bored and couldn't wait to get home! Mom and Dad picked me up late (after I answered Mandy's email in lieu of catching up), but they had Chinese sausage and a Lindt chocolate for me - still, though. We went to Empire Seafood plaza to go to Leung Kee: I had pancreas, lungs, tripe, and other assorted organ meat with noodles for lunch. Not so sure I'll have pancreas again knowingly, haha. Then I had to wait around for Mom to buy some stuff before we FINALLY went to the glasses store at Parker Place, where Mom proceeded to tell the old glasses guy about my prematurity - IS THAT REALLY VITAL INFORMATION?! She even thought I had to be reminded to thank him afterwards - I'm old enough not to be reminded! *grumble*

The repair was free, but of course Mom was Asian about it. She was also Asian about lunch, saying that at least we didn't have to tip the food court places! I know that, but would never have said so out loud! After getting some buns from the bakery and plums from the grocery store, we were off to London Drugs. She disappointed me by not getting Tim's jalapeno chips because they weren't as cheap as the Hardbite chips, which were also on sale. Oh well, I'll have to go back there later tonight or tomorrow and get that along with dark chocolate brownies before the sale runs out! Then again, I said I'd hang out with Grandma tomorrow; maybe she can get them for me, especially since she apparently can have chips for breakfast now since she really likes them! Thank goodness I was home before my FFAF weekly tradition, and barely had enough time to catch up and blog before 4!

STANLEY CUP FINALS, BABY! (plus some ranting)

Teunis and I discussed Japanese sandals, foot surgery, the bitch Jasmine (surrey_sucks) / their stable long-term friendship, and HER issues with noise (she wouldn't be able to stand a hockey game - MUHAHAHA!) / her parents / anger management, Burnaby Village Museum, mice, Zellers / Wal-Mart / sealable boxes, FINALLY cooking the pork roast for tomorrow, onions, meat, celery, tonight's pea soup taking two hours to simmer, and more. Shawn Butler tried adding me to Facebook - I DON'T THINK SO! Then the Canucks tied the game 2-2 with 14 seconds left in the game, and it was sent to DOUBLE OVERTIME... KEVIN BIEKSA SCORED TO SEND US INTO THE STANLEY CUP FINALS AND HISTORY!

Went to bed "early" (midnight-ish) with a headache - OH CRAP! Let's just say that some things have been pretty tense here, and we're pretty different also. Might be better if he actually had a room of his own, but he doesn't... and WHO knows what will happen. He thinks we're incompatible as roommates: well, I can't say I'm a huge fan of his news podcasts and everything else, or of certain other things. At least I just ranted to Mandy over email, so that makes me feel slightly better!

Victoria Day celebrations, gibberish, Jasmine (WTF?!), omelettes, and pajama jeans

Last night, Teunis and I discussed pretty background music for WOW / death in WOW with penalties / shamans / battles / resurrection / revivification, Talk Like A Pirate Day, appropriate period clothing for Victoria Day celebrations, taking pictures, porn. We also talked about incomprehensible geeky technical gobbledygook, his not being a visual person, overanalysis, NOT picking up the bitch Jasmine (surrey_sucks) today [WTF? even though he's friends with her - but PHEW on her not wanting to go!], and the dream I had last night with her IN it. This morning, we discussed omelettes with Chinese sausage / eggs / repetitive music / word origins like "gay" and "girl" before leaving for Burnaby Heritage Village's free Victoria Day celebrations.

Dodgy messages, wearing clothes to appointments, Candy calling, couch potatoes

I had to block Mark Moreau because he sent me this FB message: "I just wanted to tell you that I think you're beautiful!" This person is also apparently in a relationship as of a couple days ago - you should be telling your girlfriend that, not random Canucks fans! CREEP.

Teunis was up, too - since I'm incredibly literal, I told him that wearing clothes to the appointment would be a good starting point before any lists or breakfast, hahaha. Then I told him about the above - not surprised that his friend Norman collects slaps in a silly way! Discussed curry rice, eggs, sausage, and leaving really early to get downtown on time. Eh, at least he has stuff to do while he waits for half an hour! Candy called to discuss Step Echo, a chat room, power outages, her stepdaughter Jessica / her boyfriend Ben, George, cleaning, family trouble, birds, squirrels, "redneck" books, Wisconsin, Subena, Tracie, religion / spirituality, the election, DJ work, Genghis Khan, Nero, History.ca, Ancients Behaving Badly, venting, smart TV, fashion, the Royal Wedding, cake, Caligula, and more.

You Are a Couch Potato

Wow, you are a hard core couch potato. Is there an indentation in your couch shaped like you?

Unless you have a hardcore physical illness or disability, you definitely need to get out more.

Turn off your television - or throw it away if you dare. You need to pull the plug.

OSAMA BIN LADEN IS FINALLY DEAD! / Agatha Christie / Early bird or night owl?

OSAMA BIN LADEN IS FINALLY DEAD! FUCK, YEAH!

Teunis and I discussed coffee, caffeine, herbal tea, rice, vegetables, making something simple for dinner, complicated stuff like the Yorkshire pudding, pancakes, potato pancakes, the Rock 101 radio shows, mushroom soup, stomach problems from mango juice, annoying error messages, the commercial breaks, peanut butter, dark rye crackers, water quality, guns, and more prior to his going to bed. Eunice says she's in for SLB at Shanghai Wonderful, and Eddie is also coming - good! From some of her wall posts, I assume they're finally engaged - YAY! Auntie Rebecca said that she's going to Hong Kong, and wants us to feel free to give her a list of stuff we want from Hong Kong - nice!

One of the old-time radio shows was AND THEN THERE WERE NONE - I remember reading that in English 9, man! When we got up, we discussed voting locations (the Oval!) / breakfast (omelettes) / feet / doctors / Mom wanting all of Jon's groomsmen at the dinner tonight / Christopher Lee / THE WICKER MAN / pagan or Greek songs / the rain / rushing everywhere NOT being our style. Harmony sent us an email inviting us to Jeremy's place on Thursday to "lift up Randal and his family in prayer" - not sure how to feel about that, but THANK GOODNESS that I have pre-existing plans! Guess there will be no hockey playoff game party going on THAT night over there!

You Are a Night Owl

You'll be the first to admit that you aren't a morning person. You dread hearing the alarm clock.

You really don't start to wake up until the afternoon, and you reach your peak energy levels at night.

You can't be rushed early in the day, and you hate having a 9-to-5 job.

You do better when you're able to set your own schedule. You prefer to let inspiration strike at night.
