Shelley as smoking friend counteracting Mom's orders (dreams) / Helen S.

When I finally got to sleep, I had a dream that my mom was barking out orders and making me do a lot of work in a sunny environment. For some reason, Shelley showed up in this one as a smoking friend who had my back. However, Mom was having nothing of my taking it easy. We did eventually manage to meet a bunch of friends at a play: these included Shannon N. with wheelchair, little children like Benjamin and Noah in dressy clothes, and assorted others whether in wheelchairs or not. Mom wanted me to do ALL the dishes and arrange things in a certain order first BEFORE talking to people, but Shelley said that I was with HER and not to do anything. Boy, that pissed Mom off!

Ended up playing with the children ("a rock which is a thousand million dollars!"), and making Seabus plans with Shannon if my mom ever let me go anywhere. She checked her phone and said that we had no choice but to take the 7 AM sailing, and wait around Lonsdale Quay till 11 for a connecting bus to our eventual location. Mom seemed to have no problem with that because I would then learn that life was unfair. Man, I hope this is my subconscious processing some of what happened in Vegas... although I did see Billy (Benjamin and Noah's dad) last night, too! Helen S. added me to FB via the Puckheads, which is fine by me.

* Watched MANOS - with commentary - and TRON while having hot pot with white Eric, Jon, Harmony, Jen, Jason, Dianne, Nathan, Raymond, Ray [a little person!], Isabel, Wesley, Christon, Jeremy, his brother Mark, and Trish at Jeremy's... also had dinner at the HOHOHOs (fish bladder soup!), then went to Peter and Holly's to watch half of DESPICABLE ME!

* Hung out here with Eric Ho... unfortunately, he had to leave my place early since he wasn't feeling well. :(

* EPIC 21st BIRTHDAY AT BILLIE'S with her, Aaron, Scott, Shawn, Dorna, Sara, Patrick, Lars, Samantha, and Alana!

* Teunis came to stay again!

* MissionsFest 2011: thank goodness we located Chinese Eric!


FEBRUARY

* Chinese New Year Eve lunch at the townhouse, spending time with Grandma at Aberdeen Mall, and then the LONGEST Chinese New Year Eve dinner EVER at Shiang Restaurant because we waited an hour for the food to arrive and another hour for the fish and dessert!

* Chinese New Year dinner at the townhouse combined with Super Bowl viewing - got to see Lisa again, which is nice!

* desktop conked out, so THANK GOODNESS that I have this laptop from Chinese Eric, AND a computer geek living with me!

4:15 waking up! / Dream of chicken, bubble tea, and white guys / My type

Well, I slept in till 4:15 PM, completely missing church and a committee meeting! (which is actually fine by me these days) Shelley will think that's a good thing because of sleep issues, haha. I had a dream in which my friends and I all got together in a giant hall; Denise was trash-talking Citrus in a friendly way, Jon C. / Margaret K. / their friends were all taking advantage of the massive quantities of free food (including HUGE birthday cakes) in the downstairs portion of the building, Auntie Vivian was giving out chicken and bubble tea on skewers, and Martin T. was giving out black binders with Chinese sheets in them already. A black guy saw me around, and wanted to go out with me... I foolishly said yes, then whined to my parents about Emerson Hall and mint buildings. (no idea)

I went to the piano area of the hall, and got drawn into conversation with this very nice white guy. At the end of it, I impulsively kissed him on the lips. He said he liked me, and wanted to be mine. I said yes, and then we found out that he lived on Granville and 12th - it was very close by, even for meeting up! I gave him my email / MSN, and he said he'd get stuff connected on Tuesday since he was having computer issues.

I woke up when I was telling people about this latest development, haha. Found two calls from Eric on my phone, so called him back to say that I'd just gotten up now. He bugged me on MSN about solutions to my sleep issues (not gonna happen), missing the Committee meeting, and waking up while NOT falling back asleep. At least my body needed the sleep! I found a 3:40 AM email that Randal sent wondering about the 9 AM prayer meeting, so I finally decided to block him on Facebook after almost four years! Phew! Yes, I know email and Facebook isn't the same thing, but I had to do it! (Vanessa also asked me some stuff)

Talked to Teunis about stuff on MSN, which made me feel a little better - yeah, I am sometimes good with boundaries, and sometimes not. (case in point: Jasmine) Also vented to Shelley via FB wall post, and SHE gets the "sleep issue" thing very well! Mike B. and Chrissy deleted their FB accounts, I think...

Stressful laundry = NO QUARTERS! / Priscilla, Siobhan, Robin, Shelley, Scott W., and Corey

While doing laundry, I was very annoyed and stressed: the good dryer's coin slot was stuck, so it wasn't accepting any money! The other dryer took quarters only, so I had to go to the pharmacy next door and request change for a toonie! Seriously, putting my clothes in the dryer would have only taken a minute, not TWENTY when all I wanted to do was play more games! UGH!

Siobhan says she can't come to the birthday event because of passport issues, Scott W. has courses to take which conflict with the time, Shelley says she can't because she's only in town for a friend's doctor appointment, and Robin says he CAN come since he shouldn't have any problems getting there. I'm going to have to go to the BBQ tomorrow, if only to promote my birthday event, har har. Priscilla also added me to Facebook, haha. Corey messaged me on Skype about emulators, CASTLEVANIA, NINJA GAIDEN, abusing save states, CONTRA, a "30 lives" code, MEGA MAN, and more.

Oversleeping again and bookmarks

Teunis and I discussed slurping noodles, visiting Jordan, the blah weather, sprinkling rain, his leaving to go to storage, the band gig, my not leaving the apartment, dealing with stress by leaving, and more before he left yesterday. I happily spent the rest of my awake time doing the usual, and wasn't surprised when I was talking to Shelley about being unable to sleep at 2 AM. Turned out I slightly overslept, and only woke up at about 9:30 despite Eric trying to call. At least I made a "good-faith" effort to call him after I was finished getting ready for the day fifteen minutes later, haha. I TOLD HIM I COULDN'T MAKE SUNDAYS, SO THIS IS WHAT HE GETS!

Erin (shedtheirony) added me to Facebook, haha. Then I found out that Eric had scheduled a meeting for this Sunday; let's see what I can do about that. I was so exhausted that I took a long nap, and didn't even get up when Eric called twice - at least I felt better when I did get up! Talked to Teunis about storage, snacks, wet wooden spoons, his cars, the gig, the guy who wore a colander on his head and said it was a Pastafarian thing, MYST, the Norse boiling (hot spicy Italian) sausage, money, bikes, his heavy red toolbox, the guy who drank hand sanitizer and was hospitalized for alcoholism, and phone calls. We also discussed violations, reactions to doughnuts / hamburgers / Splenda, migraines, the microwave, new ways of cooking, ASTERIX AND OBELIX, cameras, Chinese, Mandarin, memory cards, DR. HORRIBLE, and more.


From Shelley: Some doctor on TV this morning said the way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started. So I looked around my house to see things I'd started & hadn't finished, then I finished off a bottle of Vodka, a bodle of Baileys, a botle of wum, a pock of Prungles, 1/2 chesecke an a boc a choclez. Yu haf no idr how bludy fablus I feeel now. Plaese sned dhis orn to dem yu fee ar in ned ov iennr pisss.

Damned Chicago overtime to force a Game 7!

I was actually able to watch AND listen to the hockey game at the same time after Teunis had fallen asleep; it's a good thing the radio volume was okay for him before his nap, haha. We did discuss his stopping by Alicia's birthday party to pick up Kaili - and maybe visit for a while with both people. He was sure I'd wake him up by reacting to the game; hey, NO WORRIES! (of course I did, but at least he knew that going in) In lieu of watching the game with friends, I interacted with FB people on the Vancouver Canucks page; that definitely works! Joseph Ko, Holly Laffin, and Austin VanZandt also tried adding me on FB because of this - I DON'T THINK SO! (except for Holly?) The game ended in a 4-3 OT loss... WHAT THE HELL?! Guess there will be a Game 7.... *sigh* Stella's friend Taz also added me, so I guess I'll add him back...

Teunis got up when I was leaving a message like "AGH!" (only more drawn out) on Jon's phone - we discussed Rock 101 and their streaming old-time radio shows, carrots, potatoes, water bottles, seals, beer, 1997 birth year people, the fallout from the hockey game, PARADISE BY THE DASHBOARD LIGHT / abusive relationships, and more. Shelley said they had 24 people over for dinner, so couldn't meet me - maybe next time now that they have family in the area! I was expecting an email about Game 7, and I got it just after midnight from Nathan: Chinese Eric has offered up his place on Tuesday night. Sounds good to me, and I bet he'll buzz me at some point tomorrow about it! AIYA! Now, I wonder why I'm still up since I awoke at 4:40 AM and again at 5:45 AM... time for bed, methinks!

HAPPY EASTER!


I've kinda decided that I'll wear my AC/DC shirt to Easter services, hahaha! I'm sure Mikaela and Steve L. will be all over that, and I don't really care if I freak out the pastor... then again, maybe not. Do I want to be edgy? Who knows. I don't think the kids will notice if there IS Sunday School... then again, I've just decided not to. TOO COLD!

Shelley said that she didn't feel good, as she has the shivers - that's bad, man! Maybe later today, then! Vanessa wanted me to explain my "Rising to victory?! I'll tell you who will rise to victory! I am going to rise to victory over your desecrated corpse!" FB posting; let's just say I wish I could send that out to Raymond and everyone else on the "hockey / research / dinner at Jeremy's" email list! (Eric thinks I shouldn't speak on his behalf - HA! I DO MY OWN THING!) Jon and Harmony called to ask about my (possible or PAST) crushes on Jeremy / Eric / Raymond / Randal / Martin / Wesley / Teunis - they are incorrigible!

Teunis got home at 9:45 last night - discussed toy helicopters, 50-cent black cherry Cott pop from Liquidation World, pickles, potatoes in the fridge, eggs, peanut butter, Fatburger, Bon's, White Rock, ice cream, guys and gaming, and other stuff. This morning, we talked about stomachaches and non-exposure to chemicals from McDonalds - organic farms will do that to you! Eric just called, too...

Mormons CAN'T be Christian! / The Waffle Test

I saw that Shelley is in Richmond now (at Lunen Road), so I made plans to meet up with her - she says Richmond Centre is okay with her husband Greg (who knows the area), so Sears at 3 it is! (then I can buy detergent) Teunis and I discussed eggs, chewing, sausage, omelettes, milk, popes, detergent, his brother-in-law Jordan being Mormon AND Christian (I don't get it - apparently he celebrates Easter?!), theology, Norse religion, real Christian denominations / Protestants, Catholicism, Anglicans, Judaism, Lutherans, bounties on black people / Irish (unless both were slaves) / Mormons (all could be shot on sight!), and more prior to his heading out to spend all day with Jordan AND Kaili. He says he considers Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses to be (extreme) Christians, but then he himself isn't a Christian either. Hmm... mind is blown. Must reply to Mandy's emails, too!

Teunis and I discussed the SCA, bards, Asterix, Cacofonix, puns, French immersion, Tintin, wrong numbers on Skype, and more. Marie wanted to add me to Facebook again, so why not? I heard that Shelley is in Richmond this weekend seeing her family - WE SHOULD TOTALLY MEET, IF POSSIBLE! Finally managed to get Eric on the phone at 3, who (after talking to me in Spanish) said he is going to Jeremy's tonight, but doesn't know how to contact him since he'd be at work. I have no idea, either!

Went out to see if I left my bag at the gelato place or London Drugs, but no luck. I re-bought the guestbook since I'll be seeing Jeremy tonight (and I do love him in a platonic way!) and the mini Lindt chocolate bunnies. Read some parody election article in the METRO that Teunis would appreciate, so I also brought that home. Checked my email upon returning home to find that MY STUFF HAD BEEN FOUND - YAY! (probably because it stinks of durian :P) I don't even want to know about the bath mat's condition, but at least (for right now) I don't have to buy it again! Maybe I'll need to buy bleach / vinegar on Tuesday, too. Time to use whiteout and stickers to decorate that guestbook, man!

Just checked my mail to find that Shelley (always_bryn) had sent me a Christmas card; a postcard of the State Capitol Grounds (Richmond, Virginia); four bookmarks from a mystery book convention she went to; and some Scooby Doo stickers. YAY! :D

Pomegranate, Canucks keychains, Alexis, Alessandra, Sunlight dish soap squirting, and more!

Earlier, I found some pomegranate-cranberry juice I'd forgotten about - nice! On another note, I have HAD it with this Sunlight dish soap just squirting out at random, and ruining my clothes and other surfaces! Time to get some other brand... so I went out to London Drugs and got most of the stamps I needed, plus another huge storage box (burgundy) / two New Jersey Milk bars (I had to give one each to Chrystal and Randal before...) / a Fit-Over sleeve for Chrystal if she still has the sunglasses / holiday Tic-Tacs (fresh mint and cinnamon for a red-and-white theme!) / 100 mini candy canes (mostly for the kids) / three store brand dish soap bottles (two lemon and one orange anti-bacterial) / three boxes of brandy beans. (one for Steph and Lisa, and the others are for me) I asked if they had any more Advent calendars, but they only had Hello Kitty ones left - I don't think Ian and Sean L. would like THAT! Went to Shoppers Drug Mart and got one US stamp, three hockey team-themed Advent calendars instead (one for Eric H. since I probably see him tomorrow!), plus lots of Christmas-themed stickers and seals for my postcards! Not sure if the Advent calendars are the best thing to pack for a trip to Hong Kong, but that's why I'll let the boys' parents worry about that instead of me! Morning ushering, New Jersey Milk bars, new Fit-Overs, and addresses

Henry picked me up a little later than I was expecting, but it was all good. He had to transport a cat to his mom's workplace (the BMW dealership?), so I was looking at the sidewalk very carefully as we passed it going on Westminster. It seemed to be very clear of such menaces as snow and ice, which was good as I planned to go out later and get some stuff! On the way to Awana, he got a Winter Conference-related call: USHERING IN THE MORNING?! When we got to the parkade at church, it was CRAMMED full of cars - we looked at each other and wondered what the heck was going on! Turns out there was some Chinese function at church, haha. I said hi to Steven Wei (NOW YOU KNOW WHO I AM!), Chrystal, Daniel, and Golden: told Chrystal about yesterday's surprise, and (when I'd almost lost my balance, crashing into Billy) almost killing myself on the steps outside SERVANTS. Yes, it was a good thing that I had to use Randal to break my fall, haha! When it was less busy, I asked Chrystal if she'd finished those fun-size Mars bars I'd given her from my Halloween candy stash - she had, since she hadn't eaten them for a long time even though they're not her favorite. I told her about the New Jersey Milk bars that I'd gotten for people, which *I* haven't had for a long time! She wondered if I'd given them away yet - not yet, so she said to keep them! GOOD IDEA!

Said she was going to Pastor John's farewell lunch tomorrow, and she wasn't at church last weekend because she wasn't in the right state of mind - pissiness at family leading to being pissed off at everyone else?! I CAN RELATE! Then I noticed that my calculator's display was fading, and that redrum had started later than I thought - even MORE incentives for going out tonight when I got home! Turns out it was good shower timing this afternoon, then! Emily L. said that she had indeed deleted her Facebook account, since it took up too much time... yeah, I know what she means! Then she and Henry were talking about Ada / drunken karaoke / clubbing - if you throw up from drinking only one bottle of beer, your body IS unusually wired!

Ada said Sean was sick - he had a fever of 101, and was coughing even though he could do his normal activities. Poor little guy! Auntie Vivian said she was going to T&T to get something for a Fellowship potluck tonight, and wondered if we wanted anything from there. I joked that she could have my entire shopping list from yesterday morning BEFORE going to Superstore, hahaha! After saying bye to Harrison on his way out, I gave Henry his Christmas card and Mr. Big 4-pack (Nina and Emily M. wanted it!)... he thanked me, and asked what it was for. Oh, you'll find out! On the way home, Ian said that he'd liked the snow, and had played with Nathan! Then he asked his mom why people prepared for Christmas so early, so Ada said something about Advent, but she couldn't remember the English word! I guess the effort for more than a couple days is fine, but UGH all the same! When they dropped me off, Ada said that they'd be going to Hong Kong from Dec. 9-30, so they wouldn't be able to give me a ride home... I'm sure I can coordinate something with Henry should I remember!

When I was about to go out, I got a Facebook chat message from Bob S. - long time no talk, but I really wanted to leave earlier rather than later! Walked to the bank, but didn't want to walk all the way around the doors to the bank machines when I could just go in and access them from the mall. Unfortunately, I couldn't do that, but did encounter a girl in a similar predicament! After going to the bank, I deposited some money in another bank, then went to London Drugs to buy Fit-Overs / a sleeve to go with them / a new calculator / a HUGE on-sale storage box for the rest of my Christmas cards (better than plastic bags or trash bags if the mice just eat those!) / pads / a Kit-Kat 4-pack / a New Jersey Milk bar for Chrystal. THAT OFFICIALLY FINISHES MY CHRISTMAS SHOPPING! Got home to find that Shelley S. (always_bryn) had emailed me her address... sweet!
