BEEFY BEEF is a great restaurant name!
Eric picked me up, and we started talking about scrutiny / the Canucks vs. the Red Wings (Steph bugged Pastor John about it later) / the BC Lions / Kevin getting into a car accident because of Mr. Creep / Advent / Chilliwack / the legality of people smoking in their cars / the "why are you saying what you're saying?!" look I get from him ALL THE TIME / the time change / Jen's Bad Movie Night (which I might not go to) / slamming his car door properly / French / Spanish. I was joking on Friday when I made a sad face in the elevator and said the door was sentient, haha! He says that I have no excuse to complain about people putting their Christmas lights up early when I gave him a present before Halloween... oh, do shush! When I do it, it's called planning ahead! He also thinks that I looked ready for winter and snow with my tan ski jacket and my colorful toque with a pompom - that's because the church heater was broken, and I didn't want to freeze all day! I'd told him to dress warmly, and he didn't look too warm to me!
When we got to church, I said hi to Mei Lin, and talked to Harmony about the chocolate / hazelnut / creamy nougat Toffifee. She and Jon gave me an old birthday card which featured a "saggy" joke: of course Steph chose it! I attempted to greet Jeremy, but it didn't work too well. Connie and Phil said hi; apparently, Grace's mom is only in town until Tuesday, so Grace is psychologically getting ready for this! Phil hopes his parents will help cook and such, as well. Nathan was busy trying to make "sushi" out of pink and yellow bulletins, and found amusement in a Bible verse (2) which mentioned "You dogs and mutilators of the flesh!" When Steph came in LATE, Jon tapped his wrist; apparently, Mom totally forgot about the time change and called them both at 8, thinking it was 9, then called them multiple times after that. ("why aren't they awake at 9 on Sunday morning?!") Eric said later that if she'd called me, I'd be annoyed because it was Mom: that, and I'd be trying to get things DONE in half an hour! (really an hour whether Sound / Worship day or not, but she wouldn't need to know that!) Since the lards didn't make it to church, I got to use the elevator after Sunday School again. While we did Communion, I didn't notice Mr. Creep around - good! I noted that there's a farewell lunch for Pastor John in three weeks: there go all my Sundays of downtime this month, even if they're for good causes!
I went to the fellowship hall after talking to my family about the hearts wall post: no, Eric did NOT hack into my account at 11:05 PM on Friday, even if that would be a likely time to do so, since it's after Fellowship and about the time he'd make it to my place! There were no snacks, so I gave Julie her portion of the Toffifee: apparently, her friend George is going to laugh at her! Hey, it's only three pieces and not 200! Talked to Lee about life as we watched his kids Hannah and Gavin run around, and talked to Andrew about #3 Rd. / Aberdeen / the age limit for Cubbies in Awana. I let Eric know when I was going upstairs: of course, he had to be talking to Enoch and Raymond among other people! Gave Chrystal a few mini Mars bars, bugged my sister, and asked Jen about the movie night: she left the day open, but it looks like it'll be Saturday. SO INCONVENIENT!
Said hi to William and Hien on my way up the stairs to toddler Sunday School, too. Auntie Ying said she had to leave early because her mom wanted to buy something, and Jessie was going to do the same, but didn't. Ramen, Shira, Mattias, Ada, Ashley, David, Evelyn, and a new kid named Isabel (her aunt was named Cherry) were in the class today. When I saw something in Ashley's hair, I told her to stay close to me. She shook her head and said "no," but I said that I had to get that fluff out. Later, she was walking around with a toy and singing the alphabet song along with it - how cute! Frances came in, looking for a bag - her son Micah wanted to stay and play with the toys, haha! Shira tugged on my arm a few times, Jessica carried Mattias in (who loved the toys), Isabel liked my colorful toque, and Ramen tried out the doctor toys on me. Rachel's grandma helped the kids with the alphabet, while Jessie helped with the stickers. Rachel herself came in later (followed by Ashley's brother Jonathan), telling me about all these prizes she got from a piƱata. "Pencils and a glow rock! I love these fuzzy foot stickers - I have a big fuzzy dolphin sticker at home! My pockets are full! Nicholas didn't want his... I went in and took some more, and the teacher didn't even know!" Probably did, but I didn't say!
By the time I got downstairs, people were standing around trying to decide what to do for lunch. Said bye to Adam, Nina, and Conor on the way out: when we got to the car (we had to give Christon and Enoch a ride...), Conor saw us from his parents' car, so he yelled "BYE AGAIN!" Jon decided to run out in the road and impress the kid with a weird face. I asked him what sort of example he was setting for the kids, while Eric said "Running into the road?" Yes, quite! We were going to go to Sushi Garden, but it was PACKED! Christon reserved a table at Beefy Beef, but we almost didn't get our reserved table because of crazy traffic! We got there ten minutes "late," and there was a bunch of people waiting! (Jeremy beat us there on his bike!) On the way over, I had to listen to a boring discussion about engineering / Master of Divinity studies and cost / fusion. Thanks, new-ish person... *sigh*
At the restaurant, Jeremy and I were both in the mood for bubble tea - I got an almond, while he got a chocolate milk tea. Dianne says she stayed up twice last night: once till 2 original time, then the clock went back, so she stayed up till 2 again. Randal, Jen, Jon, Harmony, Christon, Enoch, Dianne, and Eric missed out on Jeremy's PUMA MAN 1970s porn music soundtrack" context. All they heard was Jeremy asking Jen if she'd seen any 1970s porn, hahaha! We discussed borrowing a projector from the church, Jon getting sidetracked by buying a 32-pound bag of brown rice (which apparently wasn't even on sale), Jen's inconvenient movie night, MANOS with MST3K commentary, WARRIOR OF THE LOST WORLD, TROLL 2, comedy vs. horror, spicy chile peppers / seeds getting into your fingernail and up your nose, Pho names, and more. Dianne wanted the food to come FAST (it did!) since she was hungry and had lots of homework to do, and we'd already been delayed at least half an hour. I wanted it to come fast since I was concerned about catching up / blogging / my hermit ways / Enoch, who might be coming to movie night!
Thankfully, Eric and I didn't have to drive anyone anywhere after lunch! He thinks I'm being reclusive, while I just think that he should also enjoy solitude since he's an introvert! Solitude does recharge him, he says, but he also embraces social interaction. Like I go for ZERO social interaction?! "If we go out for lunch, you have more blogging material!" Yes, but it's the writing which takes up some time - well worth it, though! Talked about random things on the way home as well, like the sunny weather (sunglasses!) and my apparently not liking to be around people. I don't fear Randal, but I don't want to know certain things! At home, Candy got on FB chat to say that she had a new address - I'll PM her when I get around to it! I also noticed that Emily Lam has deleted her FB account, like her brother Joey did a while back. HMM!
