Zellers storage bins, TRACKER luggage bag, and more Amacon fuckery!

I watched a show called URBAN LEGENDS which featured the story of a couple who found out that they were really brother and sister. Maura's dad and John's mom had had a brief fling, and their children unwittingly got together, feeling that they'd known each other for years. The show said they were still together (having had at least one child), and were looking to move to Sweden - it's the only country in the world where it's legal to marry your sibling!

Went out to Oakridge (taking Dad's jacket - yesterday, I took his sandals) to see if I could get a duffle bag since things were up to 70% off on clearance at Zellers. I didn't, but I did get three red storage bins at LESS than Teunis paid for the three green ones last year - HA! The clerk thought they were separate, but I picked up the thing used to bundle them since that had snapped off: from $20.86 to $10.36! Then I decided to go to Richmond Centre again, this time to ask the Bentley's people about duffle bags. They had a REALLY HUGE one for $19.99 (London Drugs sold them for $10 more), but I didn't need that. Eventually, I settled on a less sizeable one from TRACKER ($44.99 to $24.99) which had small wheels, even though I wasn't in the market for wheels originally. I guess they'll help if I'm concerned about heaviness!

I left satisfied, and was going to go home for a brief while so I could drop off my purchases and get my oven mitts since I can't find any around the townhouse kitchen. However, my key got stuck in the front door lock! I called the manager Hester from the front door, and was surprised (but not really) when her husband tried blaming ME for it! "You used the wrong key, so you caused the sticky door!" [not true] Then Hester told me, "That's not our problem, because you're an old tenant - not a new tenant." WHAT THE FUCK?! Ugh... when I finally got someone to take my key out of the lock before the management came, I thanked her very much! Luckily, she was still there when Hester's husband came to check out the issue, as she could translate into Mandarin or whatever dialect. IT'S NOT MY FAULT, AMACON!

When I finally was able to get into my apartment, I noticed seven missed calls: one was from Vanessa, of all the people. Hmm! I organized the purchases, cleared my phone, and decided to take a shower as long as I was home. Figured I need to get more shampoo and conditioner (as well as a farewell card for Phil / Grace / Micah), so I'll take care of that on Wednesday. Waited for a while at the bus stop, and called Chrystal when I got in. I'm good with paying for my own meal this time: it's on Wednesday night at the usual time and place! (What'll I do between banking and 6:30? Hang out at the mall with too much money temptation?!) Also called Eric to advise him that I wouldn't be going hiking tomorrow since I would DIE; even if he says it's more of a walk and I won't DIE, I'm still not going. Then I said that I'd still be here on Sunday, and I'd been told by two or three separate people to go to the damn meeting. He wondered if I were in the Russia mafia once I said that my parents were there... definitely not! I joked that I was at the townhouse to steal all their stuff, hahaha. At least I don't have to go anywhere till Sunday!

Toilets, 50 SHADES, RICE, Walmart, and Vanessa

Hester came by in the afternoon with Rob the handyman to fix the toilet handle; it worked on a test flush, although now I have to be careful about how much it will flush! Oh well. I also got some much-needed money in the mail, which is a good thing! Vanessa got on MSN at 4 to see if I wanted to go to Walmart tonight; sure, even if it meant a quick trip to the bank before it closed at 5! (I showered when I got home within fifteen minutes - she wanted to go before 8 because HELL'S KITCHEN and MASTER CHEF might be on tonight, and she has to work at 5 AM) I wouldn't have minded if her friend Wayne came along, but he couldn't. She wanted me to buy her copy of FIFTY SHADES OF GREY for $5 as she'd lost interest in it. Says that perhaps that'll loosen up my parents a bit - I highly doubt it, considering my dad doesn't seem to care for Lisa's stepmom Sandy because she wore spaghetti straps to lunch one day in Vegas when it was 37 degrees C... however, I'd have bought it for laughs if she could have broken a $20. Next time!

We talked about Vegas, work, melted cheese and tank tops NOT being a good combination, water, Stouffer's, the bad fertilizer smell, the air show, Wayne S., babies, health, Newfoundland pride, Metallica, Victoria, and more. She bought some gum and other sugar-free things for her diet, while I bought Uncle Ben's rice x6 (only $2 each - long grain multigrain rice / fine herbs and a veggie medley / roast chicken / tomato risotto / grilled Mediterranean risotto / wild brown rice), frozen veggies (corn / green beans / Lima beans / carrots / peas), Peanut Butter Burst ice cream, Silhouette cherry yogurt ($2), Crustini x3 (Philly-style steak and cheese / turkey bacon club / chicken, broccoli, and cheddar) ... not bad for only $32! Of course, I'll get hangers at London Drugs some other day; perhaps tomorrow or something.

I called Hester about the toilet handle this morning; she and her husband came to take a look just now, but they didn't have any new parts to replace the lever. Maybe the plumber or handyman can do it this week, or at least I hope so. She asked me some questions about breakfast / lunch / dinner / family, observed that I'd lost weight because my face was smaller (?), and thought that the asshole Paul was my boyfriend - THANK GOODNESS, NO! Apparently, he'd mentioned to her that he worked for the police station... WHAT A LIAR! I don't go for tattooed ex-cons, thanks!

Sweaters, BOOM, Hester, genetics, grammar pictures

Finally sorted through my closet and those sweaters; pink things, a brown wool toque which I'll never miss, some socks / sweaters / (T-)shirts, Christmas-themed PJs, pink skirts, and the like all had to go! Actually, the disability knapsack had to go, too. Then I discovered that the toilet handle malfunctioned; I'll call Hester about it and the plumber tomorrow, for sure! (100% certain that she'll tell me to "flush it tenderly - not with a BOOM BOOM BOOM!") Got weird phone calls from Oregon and Washington, too. Later, Chinese Eric tried calling me again, but I missed that till half an hour later! No big deal; we then had a great 45-minute conversation about the Chinese farewell banquet going over my friends' heads last week with the skits / singing, racist Stuart / Carol by association (and the whole backstory), Marissa, Caleb, Connor, Nashville and the Predators, my being very familiar with White Spot since I was there twice last week (oh yeah!), fajita salad, genetics (the first child always looks like the dad so he won't run away!), and learning things in high school which won't apply to life till much later.

We also discussed Jon / Harmony / Ayler, the wedding banquet food yesterday, catching up in a more enthusiastic fashion, tentative hangout plans on Wednesday, the summer weather starting now, renovations, noisy lawnmowers when all you want to do is rest, my not boring him with intense detail (GOOD!), killing time till the weather cools down, how he helped his parents with stuff recently, weird flavors of milkshakes / ice cream, eating rat / snake meat, the gelato place (which he isn't supposed to go to), apple pie ice cream, French fry ice cream, his having curry chicken for dinner, my having dinner later, and more. I told him that Christon had a LOT of England / Scotland photos with Nathan - yes, it's much easier these days without camera film restrictions! Of course, we said that it was always nice talking to the other - he wants to see if he can get Jon / Harmony / the baby out to a dinner buffet one of these days. Hey, the baby will be free - what's he going to eat anyway? NOTHING THERE! If Eric calls me on Tuesday or Wednesday, it'll be all good! I know he's still a bit hesitant on using MSN in case his friends don't get his messages: he says both Nate and I have experienced that, which I totally believe to be true. Got back to the computer to find a dodgy Facebook friend request: NO WAY!

SEVEN METAL BABBLES ROYAL CRYPT / Important priorities / TOILET

Hester and Rob came by at 9:15 to figure out stuff with my toilet; she told me not to put the Lever 2000 blue thing in there, since the plumber thinks it'll damage the toilet. Somehow, I think that's bullshit. At least the tank seems to be working properly, and nothing is caught in the chain or whatever. I should just wiggle the lever "tenderly," she says.

Checked my email to find a particularly religious one from white Eric about "negative" attitudes and service projects. Thank goodness I am not quite that insane! I won't be going this Friday due to a combination of Friday the 13th (a bit important), THE WEEKLY TRADITION (somewhat more important), and THE PLAYOFF HOCKEY GAME - the most important thing! He might think I "need" to go, or that my Friday plans "should" be going to Fellowship, but I won't feel guilty AT ALL. :D

Then again, I accidentally put a lot of toothpaste on my shirt while brushing my teeth at 2:35 AM. Of course, this necessitated a load of emergency laundry so the stain wouldn't set in overnight (I had towels and other stuff in there anyway), which meant I didn't go to bed till 5 AM! BLEH! At least I replied to Mandy's email during this time, haha.

I woke up to find that the toilet wouldn't flush properly - guess this entailed a call to management! Hester came by shortly afterwards, and called Rob (the apartment handyman) after she looked at the tank and filled it back up. He'd just left, but I guess tomorrow morning works! Only Hester would tell me to "flush the toilet TENDERLY - not with a BOOM BOOM BOOM." HAHAHAHA!

Patrick / Patricia / JERSEY SHORE / Pest control and good timing

Patricia Q. sent me a Facebook event invitation to a JERSEY SHORE party - HA HA HA. So not my thing! I had to decline it without giving a reason - she doesn't want or need to know my opinion on reality TV in general, man! Seriously, fake tans / bling / stupid dumbasses are not my idea of a good time!

Hester came by with pest control before 3:30, which was good timing considering my weekly tradition starts at 4. Wouldn't want to miss even a bit of that, for sure. At least I got mouse traps, although Hester thinks that I had less furniture than before. I think that's called "annoying housemate moving out," if you ask me!

Hot pot and Chinese Eric (dream) / MICE IN BATHROOM / Sword of Kings

I had a dream which involved Chinese Eric and me shopping for groceries, looking at some computer parts in a store behind the supermarket, and then having hot pot. Interesting - too bad hot pot is so expensive (and I'm so clumsy), otherwise I'd have it! Replied to Mandy's email, too.

FUCK. I just saw a tiny mouse make its way from the bathroom to under my heater in here - WHY?!!! Too chicken to attempt anything like luring it into a bucket and then flushing it down the toilet, though. UGH. Called Hester while it was still in the bathroom; she said stuff about mousetraps again, and that the professional guy would be here around the 20th. *sigh*

Went to Jeremy's for hot pot and movie night - yay for MANOS with commentary! When Teunis got home last night after 11, he said it was -3 outside... sure, he could have some of my pasta with his coffee! I had to block Ben (_brainsick_) on YM, since he kept bugging me about IQ tests, and I thought it was spam! If anyone pranks me for April Fools Day, I will cut out their heart and serve it to them for breakfast. Cindy (SO EASILY STRESSED!) sent us an email last night stating that she was going to look for other churches in the area that fit her worship needs; fair enough! I saw Hester today, and she asked whether my "boyfriend" was going to be here long; apparently, her boss and supervisor have noticed Teunis' car in the parking lot for a while, and wanted her to tow it!

The Internet cut out last night at around 10:15, so I had nothing to do but start and finish THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN. Before I took a nap, Shannon Norman buzzed me on Yahoo; I didn't realize she had my contact info, so I blocked this ex-friend of mine! After a confusing dream involving Teunis / smoking / running for a train at Staples / Maxine's kids being really stressed out and wanting me for comfort, I woke up with the EARTHBOUND ending theme in my head! I'm not playing CHRONO TRIGGER anymore because I can never catch the stupid rat in Arris Dome, and the save state files I've found NEVER work for me! I saw on-sale Breyer's peanut butter and jelly ice cream today, but didn't buy it since I was concerned about how it would taste. Decided to not go out after all, which turned out to be a good thing as I finally found a Mors enemy in FINAL FANTASY IV Advance before I made dinner (Butter and Herb Sidekicks!) for me and a bedframe-bringing Teunis, and found out that Jason Ackerman wanted to add me to Facebook - HAHAHA, NICE!

Called Hester to let her know about the front door, but she says it was fixed earlier today; I would HOPE so! Vanessa got on MSN to let me know about a plane crash in Richmond; no wonder Denise was complaining later about being stuck! Chrystal called to see if we could meet "earlier" since she was downtown with her mom after doing some stuff; since her "earlier" time was the original stated time of 7, of course I'd be fine with that! When I was about to go out, Chinese Eric called me, but I said I was leaving then - of course he understood! Met Chrystal at London Drugs, freaking her out when I came up behind her to call her name! We went to Boston Pizza for dinner; I had jambalaya fettuccini while she had chicken salad. Talked about the offensive Paul, Jon, Awana, Auntie Rebecca making the picture frames herself, the Canucks, Golden, Angus' sister Merle making Micah's birthday cake, understanding of my frustration, insults, her parents, Hong Kong, Emily and Mike, forgiveness, alone time, my being too nice, Teunis, forgiveness, both Erics, nervousness, gelato, counselling, and more. Browsed at Indigo Spirit for a while before going our separate ways - pretty good! Eric hasn't called me back yet, but that's perfectly fine!

Mousetraps / RARE SWORD OF KINGS, AFTER THREE DAYS!

Pest control came over at 1:35 to distribute four mousetraps and give me advice on steel wool - at least they said that I could call the management about stuffing steel wool into any holes that I may see! Not sure that they actually WILL, even if Hester's husband said he could; I obviously distrust AMACON on some things, har har! Also briefly talked to Teunis on MSN about updating a component called Microsoft Silverlight and taking screenshots... yay for the Snipping Tool! I found the hidden Mr. Saturn in Happy Happy Village, and did the "fresh egg into chicken = $98 profit trick" sixteen times over. :D

After a LONG time of levelling up (92, 89, 87, 85), I FINALLY GOT THE RARE SWORD OF KINGS!!!!!!!!! HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!!!!!!!!!! DOING A LOT OF YELLING AND SCREAMING! I thought I wouldn't since I was fighting a Starman and a Starman Super, and the drop on this rare item (the only weapon for Crown Prince Poo) is 1/128, lessened by fighting two or more enemies at one time. :D

STICKY SUBSTANCES ON BATHROOM READERS?! / The Park Test

I asked Billie whether she'll be free on the 14th, and it looks like she will be after work - sweet! Ryan buzzed me on Facebook chat about spelling mistakes; poor guy! Later, I found a sticky substance (no idea what) in my Roots knapsack / on my PLUNGES INTO HISTORY AGAIN Bathroom Reader; EWWWWWWW! I'll have to buy the book again, though maybe not the knapsack! I had to throw out almost the entire contents (plus the knapsack itself), since I'm too lazy to wash it or whatever! (saved pens / whiteout / hand sanitizer / a calculator / hand cream) Good thing it's raining today, since I got more sleep than yesterday's gong show!

Kenny just called me on Skype briefly about LEAGUE OF LEGENDS and other things, haha. Called Hester since she'd called me - seems she's always calling from a really metallic place! She says that someone will be by to do something about mousetraps tomorrow afternoon at 1 or 1:30; we'll see how THAT goes since I'm cynical about it! Then I called Barry to finally set up an appointment... Friday at 1:30 sounds the best for my sleep schedule, since he originally wanted Thursday at 10:30! With the way things have been going lately, that wouldn't have worked out! Must bank and get stuff from the dollar store first - perhaps on Wednesday before the party.

Then I got to bed and woke up at 8:40 AM because it was so sunny out - bleh!

Called Barry, only to be told that we'd have to set up an appointment next week - FINE, THEN! Levelled up my EARTHBOUND characters the cheap way by going into a just-vanquished area and getting automatic wins against wimpy enemies, then called Hester about the mouse problem. She gave me one mousetrap; gee, thanks... I also need to buy a lot of funny birthday greeting cards from the dollar store!

Eric then called me when I was busy trying to catch up on stuff as per the usual; after delaying him for some time, I finally went out to go to Fellowship, but I complained about it AND religious guys / greeting cards. Since I alternated this with laughing about "fish tacos," he thought I was drunk. I was bored all through Bible Study and wanted it to end, but the "... in the name of the Lord, I cut them off!" part of the Bible passage from Mark was funny! Heard that Martin's sister has throat cancer, Vivian's cousin is in the hospital, Carmen's going to London for two weeks in September, Eric's census work is over, Cindy's stressed because of her two-week grad program, and that Martin himself wants Christon and Kevin to be in charge of food at his and Phyllis' wedding. Since Phyllis is the person who thought the earthquake wasn't caused by tectonic plates, I really don't like her. (exact quote: "The earthquake MUST be a sign of Christ coming, and the end times!")

Talked to Deb and Harmony briefly: Jon's at a wedding, and we should get together before Deb's baby comes! Eric took his sweet time leaving, as usual - he, Christon, Raymond, Kevin, and Randal HAD to talk about the retreat next week and Geoffrey. FREE TIME FOR ME! On the way home, Eric tried convincing me that I should call Ivan next week, but I don't think so - I like my gaming time too much! He also thinks that I'd go for a super-religious guy if he were cute / like Dave Wong / had dreadlocks... yeah, right! (we also discussed STARCRAFT and PORN) People's plans and priorities change, I told him when he tried saying that my Friday plans for years DID consist of Fellowship! Now, I don't care! At home, Eric H. tried a video call... not gonna happen!

Cleaning the bathroom / Teunis finally packing it in with wireless connections

Spent some time this morning in cleaning the bathroom, since it was needed! Teunis came back at 2 before seeing Hester about the parking pass / doing the final packing, and confirmed that he did leave at 9:15 or so. Says he couldn't sleep because of the noise made by my door opening and closing; well, I am a night person as he DEFINITELY knows! I'm sure he was late for work, but he was too tired and exhausted to get up. His audiobook unpaused on its own, which was funny - apparently, it's happened at work also, but everyone laughed! Trust me, I know GAME OF THRONES is popular these days if 21 holds for a library book / OH NO THEY DIDN'T are any indications! The hallway light bulb happened to go out a couple minutes after he came in - good timing, because then I would never be able to replace it on my own! Teunis said that his suspicions regarding the light bulb covers on the dining room table lamps were correct. Too close to the bulbs = having to replace them more often!

I should also remember NEVER TO SPRAY CLEANER ONTO THE LAPTOP SCREEN ITSELF! I'll keep an eye out for any of his mail, although he'll set up mail forwarding as well. We discussed his food shelves, the durian gelato, his cooler still in storage, frustrations, banking hours, the bathroom, boxes, soy sauce, carloads of stuff, ill-timed phone calls, the wireless network / router, passwords, various loads in the car, his cleaning supplies / being back in a couple hours to clean and vacuum (good thing I didn't feel like bowling at Rev's tonight!), and more. I moved back to the living room since he was just about all clear, then attempted to plug the laptop battery / power supply in the wall myself by unplugging the big white plug. Whoops! At least I got Teunis to help me plug it into a more appropriate location (the power bar under the desk) while he told me NEVER to do this, haha. Had one last bowl of Chapman's cappuccino frozen yogurt while he loaded his foodstuffs (including two jars of pickles / miso soup / pumpernickel bread / durian gelato / lard) into double-bagged London Drugs bags. He'll be back later, heh... we did wish each other good luck when he left, of course.

Teunis and I discussed storage, contacting Hester, his calling Tess (HA!), long-distance company limits, tomorrow's plans, no videos on the phone (Youtube eats up a lot of bandwidth), CALL OF CTHULHU / BREATH OF DEATH, BREATH OF FIRE / FINAL FANTASY spoofs, XBox / Steam sales, his military bed showing definite signs of wear and (literal) tear, containers, tubs, cleaning the fragile laptop screen gently with glasses cleaner and cloth so as not to disturb the LCD matrix, and mice. We also talked about his leaving this place in a better condition than when he found it (I'll agree), the laptop bag, stuffed animals, the dishes, his phone's alarm, Eric being evil, no phone reception at Kaili's (HA!), his guitar, the fiddle possibly amusing his co-workers, money, and more prior to his going to bed last night. I woke up because I could hear him moving around at 9 AM... oh well. Amanda C. added me back to Facebook, heh.

When Teunis got home, I had him help me open the Clorox cleaners before I gave him one Cadbury's premium dark chocolate bar and the "new home" card with gems on the front. He bowed and said his foreign thanks, hahaha. We also discussed downloading / testing games, a Japanese raccoon movie, the gradual emptying of my living room, contacting the manager Hester, Internet access, money, rent, and duct tape. Conversed about packing, his portable closet, mail, finishing the yummy mango cheesecake, his server noise, clothes, onions / garlic / bad breath, the Hague, oils, the laptop battery / power adaptor, computer mice, his mom and Jim, taking pictures of Kaili and Jordan, bottled water being "evil," wireless networks and keys / passwords, carrots / potatoes / onions / beets (and their power to STAIN!) as our Last Supper, and more. He described dinner as "something to celebrate the lifting of a siege, although there was no real villain in this one." That, I can live with. He was amused because his 50 pounds of weights in a small bag were half the recommended load for his dolly, hahaha.

Eric got on MSN to bug me about his telling Christon that I would indeed go bowling tomorrow. After I'd expressed my rage and frustration over that, he retracted that and said he didn't actually do so: "I just told Christon that you weren't coming, so it would just be me." He thinks that I'm being "a silly willy" about it, but I AM NOT! I don't want to look like an idiot, although he thinks that hanging out over dinner and chatting would be inclusive. Not if it's on the way to something which WON'T include everyone! He also bugged me like this: "turn down the BREATH OF FIRE walkthrough - I can't hear you." HA HA HA! I wasn't even PLAYING one!

7 AM wakeups are NOT fun, people!

When Teunis got home last night, he complained about the chocolate which had gone bad and subsequently hurt his stomach. Everything does that these days, it seems... but at least I can understand "off" food! Said he'd see if Hester was in, and at least he agreed to have some hot and sour soup with noodles and eggs for dinner, haha. I got up at 7 AM thanks to the sun AND Teunis' alarm - ugh! We discussed the Bruins' ‎$156,679.74 bar tab, McDonalds fries, grilled cheese sandwiches, Wonderbread, chemicals, unwinding, bread, the chewy cookies, road rage, traffic, and more prior to his leaving for work.

Hester, parking fees, HOCKEY, and awards

I saw Hester yesterday, and she asked whether my "boyfriend" was going to be here long; apparently, her boss and supervisor have noticed Teunis' car in the parking lot for a while, and wanted her to tow it! She says that she and her husband Ni don't want to be involved in any trouble every day, so she let me know that overnight parking isn't allowed in the visitor parking. ($25 for an open space, and $40 for a covered space, with an initial fee of $20?) She also thinks I've lost five pounds; not sure why she gets THAT impression! Also says it's my responsibility to change the light bulb in my bedroom, like Kathy and Kelly told me years ago; however, they did it for me since I'm so nice) When Teunis got home before 7 last night, he said he'd had a good day - this is excellent news! I briefly talked to Vanessa on MSN about Dan Savage, too. (discussed Russians, hockey, sports, medieval names, his friend Ana, plans, and more)

Escort, nakedness, and trash-talk dreams / Christmas mail / Doctors

I don't want to know why I had a dream about my sister being a very discreet escort for hire (Mom didn't know about the "secret" phone greetings or tucked-away pamphlets), my brother driving a city bus an hour early into a construction zone, my being half-naked in front of certain people, and our playing a MAFIA game (Randal's suggestion) in the old church. The game involved historical banking failures and textbooks, Mike K. / Margaret / Stanley firing tacks and other projectiles through the walls at people in the basement, and our trash-talking Cindy about touching her students! Mom also drove a truck full of instruments (violins / guitars), I disappointed some little kids (but learned from it), we had to clean up other kids' translucent white messes, and there were groups of little kids everywhere. It ended when I heard Hester and her husband knocking at my door / in my suite... at least I got a new bathroom fan. (hope it's new...) Tried some candy cane fudge cheesecake, also - yum!

Finally feel well enough to walk to the mailbox and post Christmas cards for Sheryll (sheryll) and Nyssa (giggles_19) - now, if only this annoying cough and slightly stuffy nose would go away! (medicine has NO effect on it; I've tried!) The international one to Kadri (bad_habit) will have to wait till I feel well enough to walk to the store for stamps and back... but I do feel okay enough to even contemplate writing the other ones for church friends, at least. Speaking of mail, I got a lovely card from Savina (bodha) and a penguin card from Christy (snoopdawg) today! Christy also included Halloween / butterfly / heart / flower / Valentine's Day / rainbow / raindrop / cloud / umbrella / spring / tulip / duck / duckling / firefighter / animal stickers - sweet! Mandy (a_phoenixdragon) let me know that she got my card and postcard: "sitting on my desk in a place of honor," indeed! She's been busy with the stupid sticking snowfall there... ugh!
