Warming up juice?! / Black Sabbath, brandy, fish balls, righty or lefty

HAPPY PI DAY! HAPPY WHITE DAY!

Teunis and I discussed GWAR / Manowar / Black Sabbath, radio shows, weird news, REJECTED, Wayne and Shuster, hot chocolate, brandy (not with my spring vegetable soup!), his gaming characters / style, milk, Eric's "drunk" joke, Westerns, warming up the raspberry-cranberry juice (er... that got a dubious look from me!), damaged files, defrag, Rammstein, KMFDM, Infected Mushroom, the clinic, and more prior to his going to bed last night. I got up at 4:15 PM, possibly catching up on my sleep from Friday / Saturday's all-nighter! Saw that Steph had called me, so I left a message for her to call me back. Teunis and I just talked about the errands he has to run downtown tomorrow, a group called Green Jelly which seems much like GWAR, fish ball soup with kimchi / noodles, the prep for the pork roast, sucky circumstances like death, CBC's website, a wind warning, and more. Steph and Lisa called me back - dinner tomorrow it is, along with earthquake-related updates from Trevor and Melissa's statuses! I'm sure the strike was fun at first, but now it isn't!

Poopy Taking First Steps / NO GOING OUT DURING SNOW!

Found a new REJECTED icon:

Steph called to see if I wanted to go to the townhouse for the purpose of keeping Grandma company while everyone goes to the States: not during a heavy snowfall warning, that's for sure! (of course, Mom was behind this... I'm not really awake at 9:30 AM, even if Steph would drive me there and back) I asked how Lisa was at school; apparently, she's excited about this semester! Then I told her about Chinese Eric's throwing up, and about Teunis moving back in - she got it right when she said that maybe Teunis could cook for me! Yeah, that's happened the last few times he's been here, and it's all good! I do thank him and all of that, so there are no worries on that score, haha. She had to leave for a dinner - props to the organizers for planning it AFTER the Christmas season! The Canucks also won 4-3 against the Islanders, so YAY!

Cake and Jello defeating us, Dr. Tran, and much more epicness!

Got to Billie's almost without incident, and met Aaron (whom I'd just met on the bus from Coquitlam Centre - thank goodness I was friendly on the C28 to my fellow passengers) / Scott / his girlfriend Sara / Shawn / his girlfriend Samantha / Dorna / Patrick / Alana / Lars at the house at various times. Discussed Korean food, Australian accents, clubbing, walking to the restaurant (the walk uphill almost killed me and Sara - she and Scott were concerned for me!), grilling food, beef / chicken / pork, transgender people, various videos, pizza, wisdom teeth, Goatse (we advised Dorna NOT to look it up!), Rick Rolling, characters, animation, oral surgery, the Iranian education system (midterms and provincials from Grade 1 onwards...), GANACHE CAKE ATTACK (which defeated us), raspberry / pomegranate jello ATTACK (which also defeated us!), the non-pretty potato salad (nobody ate much of that for different reasons than last year) and more. We went into the basement, found glass in the couch, and spent time vacuuming it up and bandaging Billie and her finger up before opening presents. Toques and scarves and mittens from Aaron, a Coquitlam Centre gift card from Dorna, a lovely drawing from Patrick, and four pairs of lovely earrings from her brother Bahman being chief among them. We also watched Aaron and Lars do some tai-chi... and cracked some bad jokes about bromance and leaving someone for their twin!

I spent the night calling Patrick just Pat, which seemed to work well for non-slipup purposes! Yeah, the pronouns mix us all up - but he looks pretty good for a girl, for sure! Hugged a bunch of people goodbye, shook their hands, and generally added some to FB too. (and they have added me back too!) Aaron and Billie took the guestroom, which was fine by me - we talked about my mother, switching mothers maybe NOT being a good idea, work stuff (online gaming and billing is pretty busy!), Babak coming over later, blackened toast which reminded me of naan, sole fish and salad, tea, and more. Definitely was polite to her parents, for sure! Also caught up on more than 24 hours of missed stuff - yay for really speedy Net connections! Even though my Opera is fast-ish, I do NOT want to know how long it would have taken me when I got home!

Upon checking my email, I find that Eric wants to POSTPONE the Committee meeting we have scheduled for tomorrow since he agreed to pick up a friend from the airport before he realized the conflict. If this "friend" is who I think it is, then NO! DO NOT DO THIS! TELL HIM YOU CANNOT DO IT, AND SEE HOW HE LIKES IT! WE ARE MORE IMPORTANT ANYWAY! Then Dylan emailed us saying that he had just talked to EVERYONE (way to include ME since I am still in Coquitlam!), and Vivian just has to check her schedule before we AGREE to postpone it to this Tuesday instead. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE. THIS IS VERY UNFORTUNATE! :(

Goodbye, Richie - you'd better come back from Calgary to visit lots!

Eric picked me up after 6, and I told him that I'd tripped over the (spare) computer monitor before leaving because I was too stressed having to leave in a hurry. I really need to get rid of them! Too bad I can't just haul them out myself under cover of darkness... they're too heavy, and I'm not THAT strong! We talked about whether I'd network with Ivan tonight, chilling in the afternoon, my not really needing to buy any food from Safeway on the trip over because there would be lots of leftovers (I told Christon later that I'd felt kinda guilty), Mr. Creep, cards, and whether Dave Wong would make an appearance. He thought that I shouldn't have laughed at Dave's cannibal joke earlier in the day - hey, it was FUNNY, and it isn't like he advocates it in real life! Or at least, we both hope not, haha...

We walked to the party room, which was NOT Alan's entrance that we were somewhat familiar with! Joey / Raymond / Jose / Shally wearing a SHORT SKIRT / Wesley / Christon / Richie / Sonya / Phil / Grace / Stanford / Calla / Dave and Yvonne / Dylan / Deb / Kevin / Vivian / Connie / Jen / Randal / Alan / Tracy / Pastor John / Karmie / Mike K. / Mike T. / Emily / Melia / Angus / Andrea / Cindy / Dianne / Wesley / Ivan / Johnny were there already, and foosball / pool / ping-pong games going on while everyone talked. Put my jacket over Eric's after he'd draped his on a chair, and noted that Ivan was there. Eric made the same observation, and remarked to me that I could talk to Ivan about Friday night - I DON'T THINK SO, BUDDY! Daniel greeted me, so I said hi to him and his wife Michelle while sitting in a chair to relax. Figured I should have worn my sneakers instead of my wine-colored shoes with slight heels since I DIDN'T have to take my shoes off like I'd originally thought! Oh well... a lot of people were signing a giant card for Richie, so I did that too. (some were wearing Canucks-related clothing to bug Richie, hahaha)

A while later, Grace said that we were going to say grace... someone made a funny, and wondered if she were going to say it! That honor went to Pastor John, although Daniel thought it should have gone to Richie: "It's the last time I'll ever hear you pray, man!" There WAS a lot of food: pizza, fried chicken, pasta, sushi, cookies, cake, brownies, salad, fruit, chocolate eclairs, and more! Went to the couch to eat, since I needed a table! Vivian and Jen broke my alone time - no, I wasn't bored if I wasn't eating... just observing the room at large as per usual!

We were likening this farewell party to a wedding since there would be cake after dinner, gift presentations, and a special video which Yvonne put together. The video was pretty humorous, for sure! After the cake-cutting, we took a group photo. Talked to Mike K. about school, discussed life with Brian (who was late), signed a petition about human trafficking as per Deb's request, joined Melia and Emily in "beautifully decorating" the giant card (REJECTED references!), watched people play foosball, and talked to Phil for a while. He said that the guest speaker was indeed here for another week, and humorously sympathized with my wondering who the speaker was on the TV since Eric and I were late for service! Guess I have to prepare for another cringe-inducing sermon next week!

Kevin gave me some money back for the Pocky and Pretz, then wondered about my energy level - downtime tomorrow, for sure! (after Women's Group / Committee Meeting / Fellowship / Awana / church and the farewell? OH YEAH!) Discussed hockey playoffs and Jon's whereabouts with Tracy and Christon. Jon called from a Canada Line station to say he'd be there at some point. I asked Wesley where they'd ended up going for lunch: the Congee Noodle House, which was boring for some reason. I guess it's no Hawkers or Reef, haha. A while later, Jon and Harmony finally did show up - of course, they had beer and some (smoked salmon) cheese to go with Christon's bleu cheese and goat cheese! Christon was disappointed with one of his cheeses, but he DID get it from Extra Foods and not the cheese shop...

A bunch of us tried Monster Ale, raspberry beer, and more while looking at the bookshelves in the party room - interesting stuff, like Miss Piggy's views on life! Jon was busy eating some pasta (sharing it with Harmony) in addition to the stuff which Kevin had packed for him. When Wes came up and wondered why Kevin had packed so little pasta for his lunch tomorrow, we all started laughing! Jon said he'd top it up, which Wes was fine with. Everyone hugged Richie goodbye when we left, since we'll miss him when he goes back to Calgary! Wishes were exchanged, and he was right - it was a bittersweet night! (his mom and sister [three kids and one more any time now] are here, but his dad is there - along with a new job)

On the way home, Eric tried convincing me that the Canucks playoff Game 2 (the one that his family has tickets for) was on Saturday and not Friday, since Phil had looked it up on his phone. In turn, I tried convincing him that he was a little too late for an April Fools joke - he should have gotten on that a couple of weeks ago, man! He said that I now had no excuse for not going on Friday - and that the Living Waters guy had spoken on his own struggle with pornography a few years ago at the Renew / Redefine Conference he went to. (so, not ex-gays) Who knows - he might be planning on speaking about ex-gays on Friday! Maybe I need a particular plan... hee hee hee! Then he tried convincing me that staying longer than Raymond didn't mean anything - it does to ME, haha. After that, he wondered whether I was shifting my weight in the car, and doing something to its springs - I took that as a "fat" comment, of course! CRAZY! I said I'd see him next Sunday when he dropped me off, and he corrected me - of course, I said he was a LIAR. Maybe I'll look it up myself - we'll see.

Awesome birthday times at Billie's!

I got lost on the way to Billie's because the C28 wasn't going where I expected it to go. Finally realized my mistake at Port Moody Station - and of course it was raining HARD! On the way back up, I recognized the streets that the robot voice was calling out - Honeysuckle Lane, Bobcat Place, and Grizzly Place - yay! I was about 40 minutes late, but it was a small party. Met Billie's friends Alana, Patrick, Sean, Scott, and Patricia who appears to be Sean's girlfriend. Watched hilarious Youtube videos, which we did NOT find boring... but then Billie's mom Tara thought that we'd be bored to death. Actually, Billie's grandma wondered why we weren't eating the potato salad - you don't EAT ART! (there were "flowers" made with green and red veggies)

We went to another room where we played Sean's game of ZOMBIES: I actually thought it was pretty interesting! Dog zombies, human zombies with a head in their hands, and more - very different, which was refreshing. I won by a stroke of luck, although Sean thought I was being evil since my strategy was to surround him with zombies - nope, it's just the normal NG feistiness, haha! I had to clarify that I didn't hate him, heh. Ate Persian rice and tea for dinner: it was excellent, although I had two helpings because I hadn't had an actual meal since Wednesday night at my sister's. We talked about movies and Billie's presents (red dragon bling bag! / London shirt / $280 / a sweet drawing / more stuff) until her parents wanted us to have cake. I shouldn't have attacked the cake with the others since I still have a cold, but it's too late now. We decided to NOT have plates, haha - just fork away! Did the same thing with the red Jello, but (in Scott's words) it defeated us!

Talked about old TV shows and "must-see" movies / XKCD comics for a while - it was nice to meet her friends, for sure! Scott even hugged me goodbye, which I wasn't expecting! (Billie wasn't expecting it either, since she says Scott is usually quite shy) I'd heard so much about Patrick that it was cool to see him in the flesh, hahaha. Now Alana, Billie, and I are just talking about oblivious people - like, blocking someone on Facebook and MSN should send you a pretty clear message that YOU ARE NOT WANTED! (not "TRY HARDER TO GET IN THEIR GOOD BOOKS!") Also watched STICK FIGURES ON CRACK, FRED, Kirk Cameron and the ORIGIN OF SPECIES, Demotivational Posters, Fail Blog, Friends of Irony, various Youtube channels, and more. Good times! Oh, and Billie just told us that Sean and Patricia are openly friends with benefits - Alana and I assumed they were dating because they were holding hands under the table, and being affectionate!

Garfield, Christmas, Snoopy, Halloween, and REJECTED icons

Uploaded a few new icons, plus the Little Terror one... the first one's from my GJ days, so it's kinda not new! The last one is from Rejected - YAY!

Andrea called five minutes ago, saying that we'd have to hang out when she gets back from Toronto, since she hasn't gotten her car back yet. At least she let me know, unlike some people I could name, haha.

Going to Chilliwack to celebrate a birthday...

Eric picked me up at about 5:55, and we talked about traffic / worship practice / Purell, lip balm, and gum NOT "getting gussied up" / the rain ruining my suede jacket (it wasn't raining when we set out!) / the exits / No. 3 Rd. Bridge out near Chilliwack (Yarrow and Cultus Lake / Lickman Rd. and Exit 116 (I'm not taking the name of the road as a command! :P) / plans / his radio's reception. It was mainly a quiet drive to the Chilliwack parking lot where we picked Korey up after 7:10, but that was okay. I was kinda tired, and definitely not hyper. (that would come on the drive home!) It was good to see K again, of course - he squeezed my shoulder and asked how it was going. I smiled, and said it was going well - he commented later on the drive into Abbotsford that I was really quiet. I was just doing my "staring off into the distance" thing that I do when I need to think or (in this case) get used to something. It's not that I didn't want to talk to him, but I knew that he'd need a chance to catch up with Eric too. They talked about babies, the bar, Willow Video Games, directions, the cousins' dogs, drama, Ryan, Alison, and more. We went to the Keg, but it was way too busy - Red Robin's it was, which appealed to my sense of nostalgia for the days when the Fellowship crew would eat second dinners! They teased me about parroting stuff that Eric said (I *always* do that with people, and I bet it gets annoying! :P), to the point where I mock-threatened them with a knife and fork. We had dry ribs, a banana milkshake (GINGERBREAD was seasonal!), chicken, fish and chips, burgers, and water.

When Eric left to go to the washroom, I took the opportunity to give Korey his presents - Eric teased us about hiding the bag when he got back, but it was okay. Then there was the time he went to grab his digicam from the car, and I showed Korey what was in there - Eric wondered why we always hid the bag when he got back! Some stuff IS private, I guess! I didn't mind when he teased me about the bling on my shirt. Talked about Ryan, Alison, wearing my Santa hat (which K liked, especially the five stars!) on New Year's Eve (I don't THINK so! Eric says K has to get used to my CHRISTMAS definition, haha...), sushi, friends, and the memories they shared from their history together - it was really nice. I didn't demur when K offered me gum, and I managed to smile when the guys joked about "World War 4" at his place if I ever visited. Eric thinks that K's cousin and I should both apologize, but maybe the cousin should make the first move. K said that they had to put their heads together and protect me since he doesn't want the cousin to eat me alive. The cousin will probably just sic the dogs on me, which would lead to a bad outcome for me personally! Discuszsed my REJECTED icon on Facebook - K thinks it is morbid, and his friends always ask why his girlfriend has such a picture on there. It's a cloud bleeding from his anus and drowining in the blood! :D (hee hee hee...) Maybe I'll change it later, haha.

We drove K home (encountering a police drinking / driving roadcheck along the way), and he requested a drop-off by the driveway as he didn't want to walk in mud - fair enough, but we noticed that he DID walk in some to get to the front steps! Interesting, indeed... he also needed to talk to each of us when we got home - fair enough! (WORLD OF WARCRAFT) I told him that I wasn't mad at him, and put a reassuring hand on his shoulder for most of the way to his place - holding hands also helped, I hope. We also saw a mansion where the owners had won the lottery - metal gate with French plaque, indeed! After that, Eric and I made very good time, arriving at home in an hour and 15 minutes. (that's how long it's supposed to take)

Discussed I AM LEGEND next weekend, remembering BLADES OF GLORY / THE PRESTIGE, New Year's Eve plans, Surrey, Langley, losing 2-1 to Edmonton in a shootout (UGH), the redundancy of "Mastercard card" (that made Eric frustrated - he turned off the radio in retaliation), chicken two nights in a row, proving Deborah's (filteredthrough) existence, butt jokes, steamy windows, Big Sugar songs, splitting stuff, needing to pee, threats of peeing on him / cleavering his skull, Oscar Mayer wieners (Reason for existence? To be eaten!), crazy stuff / insanity and entertainment, Riverview, and more. Good times, indeed. Later, Korey thanked me for the gifts even though he doesn't understand them - cool beans. :P (the Earls giftcard because he likes to eat out with people, the Nativity scene candle holder since he likes candles, the pink journal for noting down stuff he'd otherwise forget [Eric joked that I wanted it back in a year with his musings on me!], and the Christmas bubble bath because he likes bubble bath in general!)

Is the Booty Logo and anus REALLY appropriate discussion?!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, CANADIANS!

Thanksgiving lunch was amusing, even if Jon thought the conspirators from last year would almost all be there. (oh, shush!) Mom wanted us to call Randal since my sibs told him the wrong time yesterday, but we didn't. Despite our telling Vivian and Eric NOT to bring anything, they did - BAD FRIENDS WHO ARE NOT WELL-TRAINED, haha! She mentioned star anise, which reminded me of Jasmine. Then Jon brought up the Sunday dinner at Christon's where we told him that the last person to sit down would pray - he wasn't too impressed since HE was the last person because he was serving food! Somehow, Nathan's infamous comment about wives made it into OUR conversation (just in passing) - as I said, that brought us to a new low, one which we hoped never to experience again! The comment WAS very Nathan-esque in nature; Jon thought the first-years would be scared off by it, but Julie seemed to think it was at least amusing! We watched football, told Eric that I owed him a lunch / dinner since he did so much work on my computer the last couple of weeks, talked about church things, brought up Chinese food / turkey-chicken-duck / deep-fried Southern turkey / veggie burgers, tofurkey (BAD REVIEWS!) / the dinner at the HoHoHo house tonight, discovered that Randal and Steph both know Emily Chow's friend Melody C., tried getting Vivian to speak the Chinese that my sister taught her (with limited success), and had an interesting tangent about eating dogs / cats / cockroaches / rabbit. (I know Ty ate young dog when he was in China - he seemed to think it tasted good, as did my mom before she found out what it was she'd just eaten! Let's just say Grandma tricked her - she never really ate the old cat!) Half a free-range turkey with cranberry sauce / stuffing / potatoes / yams / corn / ice wine / Jeremy's Scotch ale was quite enough!

Then there was the conversational thread about really old men being attracted to younger women - old men keep trying to hit on my sister at the gym ("nice work!" "...."), and she once received a present of Manchester United stuff from a 70-year-old guy at work! EW! "From a friend who's a secret admirer," indeed! Mom brought up the news story of the 73-year-old married guy who had an affair with a 21-year-old massage therapist in Hong Kong: he ended up strangling her when she asked for too much money, then committed suicide by jumping out a window. Vivian didn't like the story of my mom's co-worker who keeps her dog pregnant pretty much all the time so she can sell the puppies for travel monies. We wondered how long a dog's gestation was, but Eric wasn't helpful. I changed the desktop on my mom's computer to the Booty Logo Resurrection, which got the expected reaction from her ("ugh!") - haha. After Vivian and Randal saw it, I changed it back to the Kandoo frog. Randal had seen that before, haha. I thought it was VERY fitting for our family! However, Mom got her chance to shine when she presented us with a mooncake shaped like a pig: she mispronounced "anus," and came up with the idea of raisins as "droppings." We were trying to tell her that this wasn't exactly a family-oriented discussion, but she was having too much fun. There are pictures, which my sister should upload later!

After the company left (Viv had to go to a group meeting - she wished she could stay here instead), my siblings lifted Mom up into the air with some resistance - man, we should get an action shot of that one of these days! I also checked Facebook, and discovered that Sanne and Chesh had friended me on there - sweet! Left Darren a comment about his message to Jon, which involved only being able to finish half a beer. Jon laughed at his terming that "an improvement," which I expected. Also left an encouraging message to someone who needed it - yay! I *do* appreciate the good things, y'know. ;) Time to answer emails now!

My mom and brother both saw this picture:
Jon thought it was gross, because he's seen the Rejected movie, and my mom initially thought it was cute until I told her what it was. "It's one guy bashing the other guy with his own ripped-out stomach!" Hahaha. It's what you get for telling me that you're "rehearsing" a fart, even if you mean "releasing!"

HALLOWEEN and deleted scenes?! Oh my!

Mom sent an email to the wrong Leslie, and referred to a hockey pool as a hockey POLL. Close, but no cigar! Apparently, Steph can't make it on Sunday because of hockey pool commitments, so I guess it'll have to be tomorrow night sometime. That'll be good, too! Jon can't make it at 6 because of worship practice, but thinks he can make it at 7:30 - that sounds better to me.

Ah, good times with Corey... he always wants me to see horror movies!

[15:20:14] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: he says he wants us to see HALLOWEEN! :O
[15:22:28] Corey: I've seen that :-O
[15:23:01] Corey: but not the one in theaters... I saw the workprint, and apparently they added a bunch of murders, changed the ending, and removed the graphic rape scene :P
[15:23:34] Corey: the original is better and Rob Zombie makes everyone swear way too much, but it's pretty good for a horror remake
[15:23:37] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: .... and he wonders WHY I don't want to see that or SAW :P
[15:26:01] Corey: because you're a wuss?
[15:26:18] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: COREY!
[15:26:38] Corey: well, that's my best guess :P
[15:27:01] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: it's so gory - I don't THINK so!
[15:27:20] Corey: Halloween isn't that gory
[15:27:54] Corey: it's definitely not devoid of it, but it's mostly blood rather than blood & guts stuff :P
[15:28:47] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: I was talking about SAW
[15:29:25] Corey: SAW actually has a decent story.. it's not bad :P the sequel is kinda lame, and I haven't seen the third.. but the first is pretty cool
[15:29:56] Corey: it's not much worse than CSI or any of that stuff that they broadcast at dinner time these days...
[15:30:15] Corey: SAW is grosser than Halloween though, for sure
[15:30:36] Corey: it's a pretty mainstream horror movie though, so really it's not that bad... mainstream stuff is pretty tame
[15:31:29] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: well, I guess I'll take your word for it since I don't intend to see it
[15:32:05] Corey: go see Halloween at least, ya nerd
[15:32:50] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: he wants me to, but I swear I will spend the entire movie refusing to see the screen :P
[15:33:14] Corey: why? to be sure to not have any fun?
[15:33:37] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: I don't know if I want to see people decapitated or whatever it is they do in the film :P
[15:34:34] Corey: well, if you don't go and watch it, I'll decapitate you!! :P I'm not sure if Halloween has any decapitations, though.... I haven't seen the extra murders they added though, so I could be wrong :P
[15:35:35] Corey: besides, decapitation is a natural part of life, and you're a sicko that loves to read about that stuff anyway!! :P
[15:36:28] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: .... WHAT?! COREY!
[15:37:34] Corey: you don't like to read about decrapitation?
[15:39:09] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: ...... maybe
[15:40:34] Corey: well those are real decapitations, which is pretty sick stuff :P this is a movie monster doing it, with spurting fake blood and it's not real, which is a lot less sick than an account of someone really doing that :P
[15:43:45] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: but I like reading accounts of someone really doing it, to a certain extent
[15:49:35] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: but as for the movie monster thing.... I dunno. as for the graphic rape scene, um... I think I could do without that
[15:50:16] Corey: I told you, that's one of the scenes they took out :P
[15:50:38] Corey: and Michael Meyers doesn't do that stuff, it was one of the guys that worked at the mental institution
[15:51:11] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: oh, okay... I thought you said they just took it out of the workprint, which is different than the theatre version
[15:51:33] Corey: it's in the workprint, but not the theater version
[15:52:36] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: ah, that's good
[15:56:35] Corey: why is that good? :P making a horror movie less scary is good? :P
[15:57:09] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: maybe not on principle, but for my personal taste, I guess it is :P
[15:58:36] Corey: didn't you watch Braindead? that's a pretty gory movie
[15:59:46] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: yeah, I did ... about three times or so
[16:06:56] Corey: so you're practically a gorehound already, so quit being a wimp :P
[16:11:22] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: whatever
[16:15:30] Corey: horror movies are also a device used by girls to pretend like they're wimps and get the guy to hold them close :P
[16:17:14] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: no... they are devices used by GUYS to effect the same thing :P
[16:17:37] Corey: I don't need no stinkin' horror movie to hug a girl
[16:17:56] Corey: and if I'm watching one, I'd rather have the girl quit bugging me anyway! :P
[16:18:17] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: hahaha, sounds good then!
[16:24:29] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: ooh, I should get him to watch REJECTED! HAHAHAHA
[16:57:13] Corey: tell him you want to watch Cannibal Holocaust. watch that (I can help you find a copy :P), and he might want to quit watching horror movies with you. then your problem is solved after one movie
[17:04:15] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: hahaha, oh dear. I think that movie would be too much for me :P
[17:04:39] Corey: well, I haven't watched it :P I do have it here somewhere...
[17:05:28] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: I take it that the movie is really gory
[17:10:58] Corey: that movie has real gore, on top of being really gory with fake stuff :P
[17:11:15] Corey: they killed real animals... quite graphically.. making that movie
[17:11:53] Corey: plus in at least one country (maybe Italy, where it was made?) a judge ordered the director to produce the actors from the movie, because people thought they really killed people in this
[17:12:11] Corey: The Blair Witch Project ripped this movie off big time
[17:12:49] Corey: a camera crew goes missing in the jungle, and they recover their footage, and play it back.. so it's all this gritty handheld camera stuff that looks a lot more realistic than a normal camera shot
[17:13:28] Corey: and... Blair Witch was kids going missing in a forest and someone recovers the footage and plays it back :P different story, I guess, but the premise was completely lifted from Cannibal Holocaust
[17:13:45] Corey: I'd watch it if it weren't for the animal killings.. I'll take my gore fictional, thanks..
[17:16:23] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: I don't think I'd watch it, either - and I hope that's not the sort of stuff he'd like to view!
[17:17:59] Corey: aside from the animal stuff, it sounds pretty awesome from what I've seen :P but the animal stuff is really sick stuff... and not quick shots either, they give you plenty of detail on it... I guess most of that is the "cannibal" tribes doing stuff to animals
[17:18:38] I eat Kleenex for breakfast!: yeah.. that is so not my thing :P

Dream: Netspeak and clouds on signs!

I'm sitting here eating potato salad and feeling a bit sad. But then, what else is new? Things had better be okay on the Hydro Flame Planet by the time I leave tonight - if not, at least Fellowship will provide a distraction! I think this is a familiar ache, however; it reminds me of a few years ago, in fact. Yes, I need to hear someone's voice and talk to him since it'll be reassuring! Unlike last time, I won't call a lot just to hear the voicemail message because those pauses are ANNOYING and I don't wish to disturb K with too many calls. Maybe one more call now since I did say I'd call him today (on Eric's advice) - but I'm done after that. I've already called him once, and that should be enough. I don't think he'll break up with me, but my irrational self HAS entertained that prospect... NO!

I had one of those weird dreams last night, too... since I always have odd ones, I can't blame it on the monstrous dinner we had! Note to self: There's another dinner with Erin's family at the townhouse on the 23rd, which is next Thursday. It'll be good to see Erin one last time! Dream details to follow.... no idea where the heck this came from!

* Anita in a black cop's uniform, also five months pregnant
* Sophia trying to protect Anita and Jeff from being gunned down by these anti-cop people
* everyone getting into a shootout, which resulted in the anti-cop people dying
* my being in Grade 7 again and living on a Julia St. in a brown house
* said street had a square green sign at the corner, featuring a Rejected-style cloud with "ROFL" underneath
* I expressed horror at living on a street whose signs boasted Netspeak
* I went with a group of "children" (really, my friends at younger ages) to a convention where they tried indoctrinating us with Netspeak - we were successful in avoiding it
* K showed up and proceeded to chastise us for not accepting the new wave in chat style, but we stood our ground and managed to defeat him with dragon laser beams

The modern bombshell I'm most like, REJECTED character, REJECTED test, Pho

Hey, I found a couple other REJECTED quizzes! Gotta do those, plus the one on Pho! (I'm sure Jon and Jeremy would love the Pho test, haha)

That picture of Pho is making me hungry, even though I just ate dinner... go figure!

You Are Most Like Liv Tyler

"I don't want to spend so much time obsessing about myself."

Silly Hat

You scored 70 character!

You are the strong, silent type. You have a tight group of friends who refuse to accept anyone who is different. You have a tendency towards violence. People outside of your group of friends might describe you as being a hate-monger, but you don't listen to them anyway. Your friends think you're super and that's enough for you, isn't it?

My test tracked 1 variable How you compared to other people your age and gender:

Pho Shizzle

I know my Pho 64%

You did pretty well! You are still lacking a certain respect for Pho. Make Pho into a personal quest and you will achieve enlightenment.

Icon Significance Meme

Look at your userpics list. If you have fewer than 50 icons, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five icons, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five icons, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your journal and tell everyone exactly why you have it, why it's interesting to you, and what significance it has.

1.

I like bubble tea, and we certainly have some of our best times at Dragon Ball. :D

2.

I thought that the sentiment expressed in this icon was very true, and still do. It sucks, but it still speaks to me.

3.

Hey, there are times when I lose faith in humanity in general. This just serves as a reminder... although now that I think about it, why would I want to be reminded of THAT? I dunno, but here it is anyhow. ;)

4.

"Now With More Sodium!" "Sweet Jesus!" Hahahaha, gotta love the Rejected movie!

5.

Dude, I am a proud permanent member of LJ... and this just proves it! (sort of)

6.

Despite the fact that some people find it annoying, I *will* continue to correct their spelling and grammar when I see it! Grammar is important, got it?! (I admit that I'm not perfect either, but at least I manage not to make elementary mistakes while abusing the English language!)

7.

Well, this icon is perfect for all the TMI / biological function posts that I make in here! I saw it a long while ago in RQ, but didn't save it then. When I saw it in Renee's journal recently, I had to Photobucket the icon again and USE it!

8.

Silly Hats Only! Hahahaha, gotta love the Rejected movie!

9.

The Capilano Suspension Bridge... the family would take trips out to see it in years gone by. I didn't like the feeling of being high up above everything, even with the railings! But the scenery was very cool. :D

10.

Science World... it'll forever be that to me, instead of that horribly redundant name they have for it now. (What is it, the Science World Telus Sphere World of Science?! Blah!)

11.

"I am Cornholio! I need more TP for my bunghole!" Ah, Beavis and Butthead...

12.

I am the Birthday Queen, so thought this Pikachu / Pokemon "Happy Birthday Chu You!" icon would definitely suit. :D (blackjackrocket found it for me, yay!)

13.

Some people are just idiots, and deserve to be reminded of this fact with the "Village Idiot" icon.

14.

Matthew Good... I've always liked his music! :D

15.

Trogdor and Homestar Runner... gotta love that, and Eric M. for telling me about it in the first place!

16.

I like Radiohead's songs, especially Just. Saw this a long time ago as Erika's icon, but didn't take it even though I loved the concept. When I saw it again as someone else's icon elsewhere, I had to take it for myself. :D

17.

I like the Vancouver Canucks!

18.

I like Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, and Jai is cool. ;)

19.

I watched BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN on Valentine's Day, and this was the one icon that satisfied me. It wasn't too gross like the other ones I saw, haha!

20.

Jesus is very important in my life!

21.

Mmm, chocolate. Who DOESN'T like it?!

22.

I love Snoopy and Woodstock since they're so cute!

Bonus: always reminds me of .

Gelatinous monsters and hypercubes / Sam and Max

Note: LJ Aladdin / LJ World Cup 2006 / LJ Bible blogquizzes. (by Juliet, Mark, and Catherine)

[21:24:07] Corey: well, go look around then :P this probably isn't the hardest adventure game in the world, but a lot of things aren't terribly obvious unless you do some experimentation... and remember that you can "pick up" Max and use him as an item :P
[21:26:37] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: yeah, getting some weird stuff with that, haha
[21:29:40] Corey: oh, and the period key skips lines of dialogue if you don't want to wait for the speech to finish :P just be careful with it since you can skip the next line accidentally and totally miss it sometimes
[21:42:49] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: right... well, now I'm trying to find that tunnel of love
[21:43:06] Corey: it's one of the carnival screens.. walk around :P
[21:43:35] Corey: I think you can get to it from the entrance
[21:43:48] Corey: it's not a hidden thing or anything like that
[21:50:07] Corey: if you've found it and are trying to use it, make sure you use the use icon, not the pick up one :P the use one is the one with a green thing or something, and the hand closes if it's on something usable
[21:50:22] Corey: the other hand is just for picking things up (to put in your inventory)
[22:31:52] Corey: change icons with the right mouse button....
[02:43:23] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: are the rocks brown?
[02:43:43] Corey: what rocks?
[02:44:06] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: the Frog Rock
[02:45:36] Corey: he told you where it was, didn't he?
[02:45:44] Corey: at least some guidelines, anyway
[02:46:09] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: yeah, but for some reason, I can't find anything that looks like a rock
[02:46:23] Corey: well did you find those two places?
[02:55:13] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: yeah, but everything looks like forest / valley here....
[02:57:54] Corey: there are big rocks out in the open between each landmark :P
[02:58:07] Corey: well, between each set of landmarks
[03:02:47] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: so why can't I see them?! :P
[03:03:48] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: I see big green fields of nothing :P
[03:07:17] Corey: are you looking between the two places that you were told to look between?
[03:07:48] Corey: it shouldn't matter since there's one exactly between any of them... (only one correct one, though)
[03:09:39] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: so how do you know if you've got it?
[03:10:23] Corey: uh, stop the telescope on one of the landmarks and it'll tell you what it is... if you stop it on a rock, Sam says "it's a rock."
[03:11:16] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: ... I tried that, and he hasn't said a thing
[03:12:10] Corey: you sure you're on landmarks? they're very, very obvious
[03:15:06] Corey: the rocks are small, but the landmarks take up practically the whole screen
[03:15:21] Corey: the rocks are in open fields and pretty obvious though
[03:15:23] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: yeah
[03:16:04] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: I've stopped right on a forest of some sort, and clicked on it... he doesn't say anything!
[03:18:04] Corey: does it all look like generic forests and stuff? :P the landmarks are flashing lights and patterns and pictures and big obvious things :P so if you can't see those..... you don't have enough range on that thing
[03:18:38] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: it all looks like generic forests and things......
[03:18:46] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: no patterns or pictures to be found..
[03:24:57] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: so what do I do?
[03:28:50] Corey: find a way to make that thing see farther
[03:29:04] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: wish I could
[03:29:19] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: I don't have any of those things in my possession
[03:31:22] Corey: well there's something somewhere that can help you out :P
[03:36:45] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: OH MAN!
[03:38:33] Corey: if you don't have what you need, I'm pretty sure you can still go get it
[03:41:32] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: yes, and I just did... but OMG... how long!!!
[03:46:41] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: now I wanna get out of the binocular stage, but can't!
[03:53:56] Corey: hit escape, or q
[03:54:18] Flami: no hot water?! What the...: that worked!
[03:54:28] Corey: holy guacamole!

It's about darn time I wrote a real walkthrough for this game. I've had a file with all the commands needed that I typed back in 1999, when I thought that was how walkthroughs should be written. Sadly, that is not the case... but I fixed it all up nice and pretty and here it is. I'm feeling pretty uninspired introduction-wise, so have fun.

In general, talk to everyone. Try all four options, especially the rubber duck. Usually there's at least two different 'questions' Sam will ask.

And look at everything; Sam's descriptions can be amusing. (I won't list all the individual cute things you can find this way, but I point out a couple below. Also, looking at the DeSoto gives a different message in almost every location.)

Try picking up something that can't be picked up. There are no less than six sequential and increasingly funny error messages. Eventually, you'll destroy Sam's soul.

During the credits, you can of course shoot at the targets. You can also shoot at the credits themselves.

You can play the CD as an audio CD. I rather like the cheesy retro main theme. But watch out, you'll end up hearing Conroy Bumpus's song again.

Office
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After watching the completely unrelated introduction and the equally pointless credit sequence, you'll find yourself in the office of Sam and Max. I would call them America's furriest crime-fighting duo, but I'm sure there are some cops out there with back hair that could house a family of rodents.

In the office, head to the right. There's a sandwich lying on the floor, but if you try to pick it up, Max will dash forward and feed it to the termites. It serves no true purpose aside from this, so go ahead and do it if you want to. Beyond the termite cage is a closet with Max's poster collection. Steal the Blacklight Bulb and go back to the other side of the office. Jam your hand into the mousehole in the baseboard to get some easy Cash, then leave the office and head downstairs. For a good time, poke the guy dangling from the railing.

Outside, talk to the choking cat to learn that he's the bonded city courier the commisioner spoke of. Unfortunately, he swallowed your Orders, so you'll have to extract them somehow. Max might have some ideas. Try using him on the cat. When you've gotten your Orders, hop into the car and head for Snuckey's.

There's also the highway surfing game, down in Mexico on the map.

If you leave the game unattended for awhile, a screen saver starts up. Various garishly colored Sams and Maxes walk by.

The TV works; fix it and you can see Mr. Ed.
Before picking up the blacklight, turn off the lights in the office. Now you can go use the blacklight to see Max's '60s posters. (Also note that the skull's eyes glow.)
Use the dartboard; Sam will throw the darts and axe.
Look at the roach farm, and Max will feed the roaches a sandwich. Better yet, try to use the sandwich; Max will say "Me! Me! Me!" and do it for you.
If you've been away for awhile, the green light will be flashing on the answering machine. Use it to listen to the messages; there are at least three messages.
In the corridor, try going upstairs.
Walk into the gun / liquor / baby needs store; Max will attack a robber.
After some time, a mangy-looking grey cat will appear. You can talk to him, but you won't get much out of him. Curiously, he doesn't want fish.
Max will poke at the bloodstain on the curbside.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Snuckey's
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pick up the Cup lying on the floor and go in. On one of the shelves, there should be a box of Pecan Candy. Take it. You can take whatever fun toy is on the rack below the picture of Sam and Max, too. When you're done shopping, walk around the store until Max starts complaining about having to go to the bathroom. Talk to the Snuckey's employee to purchase your items, then click on the toilet to get the keys. Max will wander off to the bathrooms. Wait for him outside, and when he comes back, speak to him before he goes back in to get the Rasp. The other two Snuckey's stores have more games for you to buy, so do that if you have a tendency to get bored, then head for the carnival.

There are three little games you can buy at Snuckey's (a different one at each): Car Bomb (a version of Battleship), a dress-up game, and a coloring book. The best of these is Car Bomb. If you wait too long to make a move, Max will start abusing you.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Carnival
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once Conroy Bumpus and his bodyguard are gone, walk to the right. Flambé the fire-breather won't let you through, since the carnival is closed. Give him your orders and he'll let you into the tent, where you'll be greeted by the Kushman brothers. After the cutscene, pick up the Sasquatch Fur on the ground and the hand-in-a-jar near the entrance. When you're done, leave the tent through the back.

Step up to the Wak-A-Rat machine and use it to play a game. 40 rats will pop up, but you only need to hit 20 to win. When you do so, take the prize offered by the machine. It's a Flashlight. One without a bulb. Put in your blacklight bulb. Also get the Fishbowl Magnifying lens from the attraction to the right of the Wak-a-Rat. Head to the Cone of Tragedy to the left.

Talk to the carnival worker and ask about the cone to get on. When the ride is over, open up your inventory to find... Nothing. Talk to the ride operator to get a claim ticket for the Lost & Found. Walk back to the previous screen and go straight back to find the Lost & Found tent. Go in and chat with the guy inside to get back your belongings, then go past the Hall of Oddities and up to the Tunnel of Love. Use the swam to ride it.

Open your inventory and get out your flashlight. Now that you can see, pick up Max and wave around the cursor until you see a fusebox. As you approach it, use Max on it. Sam will dip him in the water, then jam him into the fusebox, effectively halting the ride. Get out and pull the arm of the bearded figure to open a door, then go in.

Inside, a moleman will be sitting on the couch watching TV. Talk to him and ask him about Bruno. He'll tell you his tale. Give him the pecan candy you got at Snuckey's to get the key to Trixie's trailer (also known as a crowbar), listen to another story, and hit the large switch beside the door. When you leave the room, Sam and Max will hop back onto their swan and emerge from the tunnel. Go back to the Wak-A-Rat booth.

Trixie's trailer is right in front of the booth. Use the crowbar on the door to open it and go in. Open the blue box in the lower right corner of the trailer to find a stilt walker's costume, then open the closet door and pick up the scorecard inside to add Gator Golf to your map. Leave the carnival and find a Snuckey's.

Sam can't ring the bell, but Max can.
Playing Wak-A-Rat, you can hit Max. (As usual, it doesn't hurt him.) If you play to lose, the rats start to taunt you.
Note the 'Evelyn Morrison' reference in the Tunnel of Love.
The bats squeal if you shine the blacklight on them.
You can talk to the freaks in the sideshow (though not much).
Max is generally unruly here. He jumps up and down on Trixie's bed. Once you stop the swan in the tunnel, he'll also try to steal the hangman's axe.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Snuckey's
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you choose a different Snuckey's, you can find another game. Buy it if you want; our true purpose here is found elsewhere. Give the Snuckey's clerk the hand-in-a-jar. Snuckey U has given him incredible hand strength, and he'll open it with ease. When you've got yourself a hand... head out, hop in your car, and go to the World of Fish.

Try to talk to the guy eating ice cream.
You can't buy other merchandise or ride the horse, but at least you get good error messages.
There are differences between the three stores:
East South West
Background Trees Bayou Desert
Mascot Jackalope Shrimp Cactus
Game Car-bomb Color-it Dress-up
Clerk Moustache neither Moustache & glasses
Eater's shirt blue red pink
Window ice cream donut corn dog

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
World of Fish
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pick up the bucket of fish from the bait stand. Watch the video clip, then get back into your car and go to the Gator Golf course.

Use Max on the netful of fish, and he'll take one and feed it to Bubbles (the fish in the tank).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gator Golf
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go left when the path branches and grab the golfball retriever from the trash. With that in hand, go back to the fork and go right. Watch the cutscene, then pick up the bucket of golfballs and put your bucket of fish in its place. Pick out a golf club and start swinging. To golf with Sam, place the flag where you want the fish to land, then press the swing button. The given measurements will vary depending on the size of your monitor. Mine is 15".

Put the first flag about one inch from the tail of the first alligator, the next one a centimeter or so from the tail of the same alligator, and the third one an inch from the second alligator's head. The next fish should be launched a centimeter from the tail of the second alligator, and the last two fish should hit the very tips of the fourth and fifth gators' tails.

With the alligators in place, Sam now has a direct path to the center across their backs. He'll take it. Open the door of the tank to release Max, who will hand you another clump of Sasquatch fur. Open the door in the base of the platform and take the snowglobe inside to add the Mystery Vortex to your map, then go back to your car and head for the World's Largest Ball of Twine.

You can golf using the golf balls and, of course, dunk Max. You can also hit the various obstacles on the course and they'll react.
Max sometimes comes down and looks out of the screen at you. He does this in several places, but somehow it's particularly noticeable here.

You can leave Max in the dunk tank and leave. Sam will wander sadly around and refuse to do certain things (e.g. ride the Tunnel of Love... "It wouldn't be romantic without Max"). Also try that picking-up-unpickable-objects sequence again -- the last couple messages differ.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
World's Largest Ball of Twine
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go up the stairs to the right and wait for the tram, then hop on. At the top, head left and use the elevator to reach the restaurant, then pick up the sparking wires and use them on the binoculars. Add your lens to the mix, then talk to the telepathic man sitting at the table. Ask him about the bent wrench to get a free sample. Go back down the elevator and ride the tram to the bottom. Drive to the World of Fish.

You can use the binoculars after you've been to the later places... Sam will say "That was a nice trip down memory lane."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
World of Fish
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Use the wrench you just picked up on the fiberglass fish in the water to loosen it up, then climb in. Pick up Max and use him on the fish to make him join you, then watch the clip. The helicopter will dump you at the World's Largest Ball of Twine.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
World's Largest Ball of Twine
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Use Max on the ball of twine to cut off a piece, then go inside the museum. Attach the hand from the jar to the golfball retriever you picked out of the trash, then add your World of Fish magnet to the mix. Use this contraption on the twine ball to find a mood ring, then go back outside. Your car will join you shortly, at which point you should leave the twineball and go to the Mystery Vortex.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mystery Vortex
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go right into the building and make your way to the open doorway. Pick up the Sasquatch hair lying on the floor of the Yeti attraction, then go back to the hallway and use the mirror. Inside, turn on a magnet and go back out. Try to open a door of the color of magnet you chose. If you find yourself shrinking or growing so you can't fit through the door, go back and choose another magnet. You can also turn two magnets on at once to deviate from the primary colors.

When you find the right door, you'll meet another moleman. Ask him about a Bigfoot, then give him the mood ring from the World's Largest Ball of Twine. After he's done being psychic, leave the Vortex and go back to the World's Largest Ball of Twine.

You can talk to the 8-ball. Try each talk option more than once.
If you play Car Bomb while inside the vortex, the game shakes.
You can play the piano.

In Uncle Shavoul's room:

Read the clippings on the wall (there are at least 8 stories).
You can drink from the water bottle.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
World's Largest Ball of Twine
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ride the tram up to the restaurant and go in. In there, use the fishbowl magnifying lens with the binoculars you rigged earlier. Left-click the mouse to make the binoculars move to the left. To control and stop the binoculars, move the mouse down to the dial. Click on the left mouse button to make the dial go left, and click on the right button to make it go right. Pretty simple, although they never tell you how to do it. You have to stop the binoculars when you see the large rock. It must be between the Forest and Valley. We're looking for Frog Rock. It's between a stump and a big cloud. When you've found it, stop to add it to your map, then leave the restaurant and go there.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Frog Rock
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At the rock, whip out all the clumps of fur you've been collecting and smear them all over the rock. Add the Magic Moleman's powder and watch the clip, then get back in the car and go to Bumpusville.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bumpusville
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Walk up to the mansion and go in. Turn left and grab the portrait of John Muir hanging on the wall, then watch the clip. When it's over, go left through the doorway. After the cutscene, go back to the hallway and walk past the front door. Go into the bedroom at the end of the hallway and grab the greasy pillow on the bed. Whip out your golfball retriever and use it on the large blue book on the shelf over the door to get a user's manual for the cleaning robot. Once Sam knows what to do, head out to the hallway to find it.

Use the robot when you see it (holy Star Wars reference, Batman!) and disconnect all the wires in its brain. Plug in the blue wire on the far left to set it to clean the room holding Bruno and Trixie, then let it do its job. As soon as it scoots into the room, it will trigger the alarm system. Go to the room beside Conroy's bedroom and use the virtual reality helmet.

In the virtual reality world, grab the sword sticking out of the stone and try to go to the cave. When the dragon emerges, use the sword on it to kill it. Grab the heart to get a key. Sam will return to the real world. Go back to the performance room and use the key in the keyhole near the door to turn off the security system. Watch the clip, then go back to your car and head for Evelyn Morrison's Savage Jungle Inn.

Throw money in the well (at least 3 times).
Don't forget to examine all the plaques on the wall. The game's designers apparently didn't think much of country music...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Evelyn Morrison's Savage Jungle Inn
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go into the inn and talk to Evelyn. Ask her about Conroy Bumpus and the Bigfoot. You'll walk away with some brochures. Look at them, then leave the hotel and head for the Celebrity Vegetable Museum.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Celebrity Vegetable Museum
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head to the right and grab an eggplant from the crate, then give your John Muir portrait to the lady behind the counter. Get back in your car and go to the Dino Bungee National Memorial.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dino Bungee National Memorial
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Walk down the stairs and head left. Hit the button to make Rex talk. When his mouth is just about open, take out your twine and use it on Rex's mouth. Use Max on the twine and watch the clip, then add the tooth to your inventory. Go back down the stairs and check out the mammoth beyond Rex. Have Max give him a haircut, then go back to the main path and go up. Hang a right and open the gate.

Use your Snuckey's Cup with your golfball retriever, then use the dressing room to change. Use the green rope to start jumping. Have your golfball retriever ready, and when you reach the level of the tar, use it to get yourself some. Change back into your regular clothes and go back to the Celebrity Vegetable Museum.

Listen to the dinos.
Look at the presidents' heads.
Talk to the kids in line at the tarpit slide.
After bungee-jumping, talk to the girl again. Try all the options a few times, there are quite a few variations here... sometimes, if you hit ! Max will jump.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Celebrity Vegetable Museum
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Head right and talk to the lady behind the counter. Ask her about the John Muir squash to get it, then say goodbye and hop back into your car. We're headed for Bumpusville. Yee-haw!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bumpusville
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go to Conroy's bedroom and use the Bumpus eggplant on the toupee. With the wig in your possession, go to Evelyn Morrison's Savage Jungle Inn.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Evelyn Morrison's Savage Jungle Inn
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

See that Bigfoot scratching his foot? Give him the keys to Snuckey's bathroom. A rasp is great for scratching Bigfoot feet. That seems a bit redundant, but anyway...

In your inventory, use the tar on the stilt walker's outfit and the mammoth fur on the results. Add the wig you stole from Bumpus to complete your Bigfoot costume, then use the costume on Max. The duo will get dressed. Go through the doorway and join the party. Inside, take the wine bottle. Go to the kitchens (behind the stage, left of the screen in the background) and take the ice pick from the freezer window. Use the rear door and Bumpus will appear. To escape his clutches, remove the Bigfoot costume - Bumpus and Lee-Harvey will change in the freezer. Get Max to slam the door on them. You will be granted free run of the party by the Bigfoot Chief.

Go up through the small doorway to get an icepick, then try to leave through the door in the back. Watch the clip, then use the bigfoot costume and watch another one. Use the freezer door, watch yet another one, and head back into the inn. Take the wine bottle beside the punchbowl, then leave the inn and go to the World's Largest Ball of Twine.

Try to make a phone call (before you have a disguise).
In the lobby, watch Max; he'll go pull the toucan's tail, and amuse himself opening the automatic doors by waving his hand. (He'll wave this way in other places, but this is the only place it does something.)
Try going out the back door after Conrad has been captured.
Ask all the Bigfoots about the totem poles. Ask Bruno again after three of them have been dispatched.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
World's Largest Ball of Twine
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ride the tram to the top and put your icepick into the telepathic tool-bender to get yourself a corkscrew. Use that on the wine bottle, then put the cork into the snowglobe. Ride back down and go to the Mystery Vortex.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mystery Vortex
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go to the giftshop at the end of the hallway and use the Mini-Vortex. While inside, whip out your snowglobe and use it to fill it up, then go back to your car and return to Evelyn Morrison's Savage Jungle Inn.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Evelyn Morrison's Savage Jungle Inn
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go to the party room, then exit through the door to the left. Walk past the totem poles to reach the hot tub. (click on the building behind the slide) When you get there, toss in the John Muir squash, the greasy pillow, the dinosaur tooth, and the snowglobe. The mixture is complete. Watch the ending sequence. OK, game's over. Nothing to see here. Move along now.

v1.0 (08/07/02)

So, I wrote a step-by-step guide about 3 years ago. I wrote a real walkthrough now. Fear me. It's done, by the way. I might add a few more sections some other time, but I'm too lazy to do that now.

Thanks to:

- LucasArts, for making games that r0x0r my s0x0rz.

- My dad, for buying me the LucasArts Archives all those years ago. I'm so spoiled.

I changed my MSN name just now, and this is what Eric had to say about it:

[23:13:45] Diven - Canucks pick 10th: your sister has a gelatinous cube?
[23:14:04] Diven - Canucks pick 10th: hopefully it's not a gelatinous monster in disguise that will fangoriously devour her
[23:15:52] Flami: my sister's a gelatinous cube!: hahaha
[23:15:59] Flami: no.. she IS a gelatinous cube :P
[23:18:13] Diven: oh
[23:19:07] Diven: what does that have to do with gelatinous monsters
[23:19:25] Diven: how dare you call your sister a fangorious cube
[23:23:12] Flami: just explore it a little... they've deemed her to be "a gelatinous cube that quivers before you"
[23:25:28] Diven: did she play the game?
[23:25:53] Flami: my sister's a gelatinous cube!: no
[23:25:59] Diven: or is there a gelatinous cube that you decided to call her your sister
[23:26:03] Flami: no
[23:26:31] Flami: there are monsters there based upon people from my "friends list" on LJ, and she just happened to be said gelatinous cube
[23:26:44] Diven: is there a character in the game that is your sister in the game world but not your real sister that is a gelatinously devouring hypercube
[23:27:03] Diven: ahh
[23:28:54] Diven: Strong Bad Email 84: Writing a Children's Book
[23:31:43] Diven: do you know what a hypercube is?
[23:34:59] Flami: one of those multi-dimensional objects
[23:35:28] Diven: wow
[23:35:48] Diven: it is to a cube what a cube is to a square
[23:36:21] Flami: haha, I've seen this email before
[23:36:35] Diven: of course
[23:37:00] Diven: it has the fangoriously devouring gelatinous monster
[23:37:13] Flami: yup
[23:38:53] Flami: so.. "wow" what?!
[23:39:05] Diven: huh?
[23:39:12] Diven: what about WoW
[23:42:42] Diven: haha.. things that go dump in the night... haha
[23:43:13] Flami: no... you said "wow" in response to what I said about multidimensional objects
[23:43:28] Diven: Strong Bad Email 144: Things that go DUMP in the night!
[23:43:33] Flami: and what's this about things that were dumped in the night?
[23:43:53] Diven: "oh wow" was with regards to you having an idea about what a hypercube is
[23:44:12] Diven: refer to the end of the latest Homestar link
[23:44:17] Flami: haha, oh okay
[23:44:21] Diven: or to yourself
[23:47:29] Flami: oh, heh... nice one
[23:47:37] Flami: to MYSELF?!
[23:47:50] Diven: or myself on occasion, too
[23:48:12] Flami: uh... as far as I know, I have NEVER gotten dumped somewhere in the night... I dunno about you, though
[23:48:24] Flami: unless you're talking about DUMPING... then yeah..
[23:48:52] Diven: things that go dump... not things that get dumped
[23:49:17] Flami: OH, right.
[23:49:22] Flami: gotcha
[23:50:15] Flami: if you don't believe me about my sister being a gelatinous cube, look at my LJ info
[23:53:22] Diven: um, so you wrote something on livejournal claiming your sister to be a cube
[23:53:32] Flami: I did not write that
[23:53:35] Diven: regardless inappropriate
[23:54:04] Flami: not as inappropriate as that poem, and even then, that was skirting it
[23:54:53] Diven: did you pay for your account
[23:55:01] Diven: poem?
[23:55:22] Diven: and what is with the bloody bashing going on
[23:56:23] Diven: me sleep now
[23:57:46] Flami: that's the Rejected movie.. I'll link you to it later
[23:57:54] Flami: the one about grammar I linked you to last week
[23:58:01] Flami: okay then.. sleep well.. good night

I'll answer that question and link him to the movie later... maybe I'll even link him to Hyper Frame, even if that isn't a multi-dimensional cube!

This is what Corey had to say about Sam and Max:

[23:01:01] AlenaBrolxFlami: okay, *now* I play Sam and Max :P
[23:02:20] mrptptpt: Max is cool :P

try to avoid walkthroughs.... there's a HINT system link if you look up most any adventure game on Game FAQs.. it gives hints without outright telling you what to do unless you keep clicking for more hints :P try that first, if anything
[23:24:01] AlenaBrolxFlami: do the different cursors have much to do with the game?
[23:26:30] mrptptpt: you have instructions for the game! :P yes, they have a lot to do with the game and you should know which is which :P
[23:26:41] mrptptpt: they're for looking, using, doing things, etc.
[23:49:01] AlenaBrolxFlami: yikes! is the next-door thing SUPPOSED to be mildly scary?
[23:49:32] mrptptpt: next-door thing?
[23:50:02] mrptptpt: I haven't exactly played this game recently, so you'll need to be a bit more specific :P
[23:51:07] AlenaBrolxFlami: when you go out the door of your place, the people next door threaten the guys and hurl things at 'em
[23:51:42] mrptptpt: I remember some gunshots or something...
[23:52:13] mrptptpt: most things are supposed to be funny or amusing more than scary....
[23:52:51] AlenaBrolxFlami: I know...
[23:52:52] mrptptpt: you can't even die in this game :P if you get to Sierra games like Kings Quest and Space Quest, half the fun and frustration of those is the 8 billion crazy ways you can die (save OFTEN)
[23:53:02] AlenaBrolxFlami: that was the way I described it
[23:53:03] mrptptpt: no dying in the LucasArts games..
[23:53:14] AlenaBrolxFlami: that's probably a good thing
[23:58:02] mrptptpt: yes and no :P in the Space Quest and Leisure Suit Larry games, there are some pretty creative ways of dying :P plus you can and should save whenever you get new items or find new areas, etc... so you shouldn't really lose progress if you're doing a good job of saving...
[23:58:59] mrptptpt: the bad ones are the games where you can completely lock yourself out of ever beating the game by using something at the wrong time or missing an item or something... that doesn't really happen with Sierra / LucasArts, though
[00:35:22] mrptptpt: and there doesn't appear to be a hint thing for this... usually they say "UHS Hint File" I think
[00:36:24] mrptptpt: well, the UHS site has it... but not an online version.. you have to download their "UHS Hint Reader" and the hint file for Sam & Max
[00:37:32] mrptptpt: I'd go with that for assistance :P but try lots and lots of things first :P they do not always make the most sense... but that's one of the fun things about these kinds of games.. the crazy things you have to do to get through areas
[00:38:44] mrptptpt: use everything on everything / everyone, ask about everything, look at everything, use everything, use Max on everything.... use items on other items :P whatever you can think of.. if you're lucky you'll at least have some funny things happen, even if they don't solve the puzzle

Here's a 39-question survey from Amy, via Myspace bulletin:
