Dream of conjoined septuplets / NINE missed calls?!

I had a weird dream that started with me being jealous of what treats my brother got in a fruit market. My mom was going to give him his own cruise and stuff, for goodness sakes! So I stomped on a whole bunch of raspberries / strawberries / other such fruit before heading to the shop which sold CDs and books. I'd put a few items on hold and was going to pay for them, until someone said that they'd pay for them for me: sure, why not?

After that, the dream somehow switched to a bus stop where I was waiting for a 259 Granville bus. No such bus exists in real life around here, at least. I saw Jeff and talked to him for a while. He went on another bus, so I was left alone to wait for mine. I got off at a stone church, where Jeremy met me. He told me that we'd be looking after multiple births, so I thought that was cool. Little did we know that it would be quadruplets, quintuplets, and a set of conjoined septuplets with varying mental disabilities! We sang "BINGO" and tried entertaining them, and had to step on stone blocks over water to get to the washrooms. Also, we had to bathe the conjoined septuplets... the dream ended when I got the last of my NINE missed calls today! What the heck?! Stupid phone beeping at me! I think I'll go catch up on my sleep now, thanks!

Sara W. (sparkle_bint) got my Christmas card a while ago, but I haven't documented it here till now. Taru (tarutar) commented to let me know that she got my postcard, card, and chocolate / strawberry Pocky: good to know it arrived in Finland finally! Speaking of Christmas loot, I got a great package from Ana (glamourcorpse): Scooby Doo Christmas card, coloring sheet with pictures on it, plenty of heart-shaped confetti, a cool bracelet, and Insects Stained Glass Coloring Book! (Dover Little Activity Books, by John Green... it features the bumblebee, fly, two-spot ladybird, caterpillar, butterfly, grasshopper, ant, and spider) I'll put the confetti in with my red rocks from that P.E.I. beach, heh.

I had weird dreams about somehow going with Holly (brother's girlfriend's sister) to Washington airport, where I met all their other friends and Harmony (brother's girlfriend). I took out a picture of MY friends on the opposite end of the continent, and they somehow recognized Eric M.'s brother Kieran in a black shirt and dark blue pants! Very weird... then there was the part where Jeremy and others had to push against a green wall in order to get to the next room. (no, I haven't been playing MOTAS or other online games lately...)


I was going to blog about this yesterday when we saw it on the news. Why did GRANDMA turn the downstairs TV on when she can't understand English?! However, the hockey game eclipsed it, haha. There have been sextuplets born in Vancouver at 6.5 months, and my dad thought that six babies at a time was septuplets. Not quite, but that was just momentary forgetfulness or something and NOT on a par with what my mom comes up with regularly!

A woman has given birth to six babies in a Vancouver hospital, officials confirmed Monday, the first sextuplets believed to be born in Canada.

"I am able to confirm to you that this weekend at B.C. Women's Hospital, sextuplets were born and that they were born at a gestational age of 25 weeks," said Dr. Brian Lupton, director of the hospital's neonatal unit.

Lupton was not able to give details on the children until he received permission from the family.

But according to reports, the babies — four boys and two girls — each weighed two pounds. One of the babies was born naturally and the others by emergency Caesarean section, according to reports.

Experts say the six babies will likely face significant health challenges. They will need extensive medical support and could be in the neonatal unit for months.

Sextuplets are extremely rare. Only 160 cases have ever been documented. Most multiple births are now caused by fertility drugs.

Canada's most famous multiple births were the Dionne quintuplets, delivered in May 1934 by a country doctor in a rural northern Ontario farmhouse. They became international Depression-era celebrities, their every move recorded and written about. They were the first quints known to have survived infancy.

Various random observations / memories about kids, Wikipedia, and multiple births

I remember kids in elementary school named Aura, Mitchell, and Sebastian. Wonder what they're doing now, heh. (I also remember a counsellor I had named Peggy, and a kid at the pool named Larisa)

After reading Facts About Multiples some more this afternoon, I've come to the conclusion that I'd definitely NOT like to have septuplets / octuplets / nonuplets / decaplets / undecaplets / duodecaplets / tridecaplets / quadecaplets / quindecaplets! (that's 7 to 15 babies / fetuses at a time!)

I've been busy creating new memories sections over the past couple of days... now Facts About Multiples and Wikipedia have been added to my ever-burgeoning list of journal memories! Certain other sections (like Weird Stuff / Corey / Other Convos / Rants / Dreams / Books / Music) have been fleshed out as well... I love my journal upkeep, as well as having the time to do it in the first place! :D

I wonder what it would be like having septuplets. No, I don't really intend to have 'em myself. But sometimes I wonder...

My phone lines were being weird tonight because the one by the computer worked until I punched in the wrong digits of what I thought was my brother's number. (one sib's cell phone number starts with 604, and the other with 778... darn confusing sometimes! :P) Then it refused to work for 20 minutes... I'd pick up the phone and get dead silence. While I was trying to get Eric H. on the phone later from the other room to tell him to just pick me up on the way to Riverport (Jon doesn't know what he's doing or what time he might conceivably get there as a result), it decided to work again since I could hear a voice (that wasn't the radio) from that phone. Weird. o_O

Eric H. got on MSN earlier to say that Nathan was on board with hanging out on Monday night. To make life easier for everyone, he proposed meeting at Riverport at 7:30 to eat and then see what happens. Thank goodness (if we do movies) I still have one free movie coupon, courtesy Ivan and Karen. I then called Jon to see if that was fine with him: it was. I could hear everyone in the background loitering at the church as usual, even though the cleaning crew (Eric T., Stanley, and their parents) had already arrived fifteen minutes prior to my call! (so at about 10:50-ish) Citrus was also doing / saying something funny, heh. After that, I got back to find that Eric H. had signed off... getting him on the phone didn't work because the fax machine was on, and no one answered the cell phone after six rings. Oh well, maybe I'll catch him before Monday!

Windows Media Player refuses to work for me tonight: it doesn't recognize any discs I put in. The regular CD player doesn't work since it currently has no batteries in it. (I need to look at the manual again...) I could do Winamp, but that's reserved for Corey's DVD... don't ask, I'm weird. Corey has nothing for me on that one, unfortunately. =/ (stupid technology...)

Speaking of Corey, I bugged him about sending that torrent of 300 original recipes (ingredients and all) to me. After telling me that I suck because I'm not a member of I Love Torrents (and thus can't access the torrents), he finally sent them. Good thing I have Adobe Acrobat now so I can read the files, I guess? (he was bugging me about downloading that the other night so I could read PDF files, sparked by my telling him that I couldn't read PDF transit files Eric M. tried linking me to last week) Maybe I'll post 'em here, and maybe not... knowing me, I will.

Corey also said that Jane sent him clothes, and was trying to get him to play dressup... he was not impressed when I said that it was cute, heh. Boys. :P (he also had this to say about Eric H.'s MSN name - only in the conversation because I had to show him that he did indeed sign off and it wasn't anything to do with the fax line - "Good grief. Who the hell would talk to that person with a long ass stupid "name" like that? It takes 30 seconds just to find the message at the end of all that sh*t.")

I decided that I was tired of all the "0 uses" on my LJ tags page where those tags were actually used once on previously-filtered entries. Originally, I thought of deleting them... but then I figured I could add those tags to pre-existing entries: one entry for each letter of the alphabet where "0 uses" was found, and one for non-alphabetic characters. Then I also spent some time deleting a bunch of misspelled tags, and tags that weren't even used. I told you that I was OCDL about my journal, even if these mini-projects are a lot of work. :P

I need to check Facts About Multiples soon, since it's recently been updated. That info is gonna rock, haha. (quadruplets, multiple multiples, world lists of quads / quints / conjoined twins... not likely the twins, triplets, sextuplets, septuplets, octuplets, nonuplets, decaplets, and quindecaplets will be updated!)

Jackson will be couple's 15th J-name child

A US couple who have 14 children with names all beginning with J, are expecting a 15th child.

Michelle Duggar and husband Jim Bob say the new arrival will also have a first name beginning with J - Jackson.

They said they never intended to bring up such a large family, says Sky News Online.

Michelle told CBS: "I don't think it was our intention when we first married but I think we realised children are a gift."

So far... the couple have Jana, John, Jill, Jessa, Jinger, Joseph, Josiah, Joanna, Jedadiah, Jeremiah, Jason, James, and Justin.

The deeply-religious southern Baptist family is schooled at home and sew their own clothes to cut down costs.

"The older child gets to become the teacher, and it seems like you learn so much more... than when you're just the student," Michelle said.

And the new baby may not be the last. "I would like more. I guess we'll have to wait and see," she said.

4 sets - John and Sarah Hoke had 16 children and 4 sets of twins in the 1800/1900s.
4 sets - Wilson Julian had 4 sets among his 16 children with 2 wives, Margeret Trueblood and Emma Rotramel in the 1800s.
4 sets - Mrs Lopes of Massachussetts had 4 set of twins in 1940s.
4 sets - Reise Leonard and Sina Catherine McKneeley had Lenna and Leta (1919), Leona and Leslie (1920), Eddie and Emmett (February 1921), Virginia and Sadie (November 25 1936).
4 sets - Mary Louise Morris of Virginia had 2 identical and 2 fraternal sets in 12 years. Her fourth set of twins were born in 1974.
4 sets - Nebos Ramos of Chicago had four sets of twins without fertility drugs.
4 sets - Mrs. Jules Rice of Washington had her four sets in a 7 1/2 year frame.
4 sets - ViAnne Smith-Amico of California had 3 sets of girls and 1 set of boy/girl.
4 sets - Seamans family - 1st wife had Phebe and Sarah (Mar 11 1807), 2nd wife had Elizabeth and Abigail (Jan 21 1814), Louisa and Ezra (Mar 11 1829), Emeline and Emily (Nov 23 1830).
4 sets - Bessie and Steve Sedor of Canada had four sets of twins.
4 sets - Jacob and Elise Schnuerle of Nebraska had 16 children (8 girls, 6 boys) and 4 sets of twins among them. (there ya go.. 16 kids!)
4 sets - Mussamat Somni of India, a twin herself with twins as sisters, all of whom went on to have twins themselves.
4 sets - The Volk family of New York had 4 sets on December 6 1952, December 1 1953, June 16 1957, and April 26 1959.
4 sets - Steen Meldahl Wolff and his wife Elisabeth Pettersen had 15 children and 4 sets of twins in the 1800s.
4 sets - A family in Australia recently (2003) has 3 sets with another on the way. The twins were born in 1995, 1999, and 2002. Their 4th set of twins is due in March 2004.


Three Sets of Twins

3 sets - The Arballo had twins unidentified, twins Sergio and Laura (80's?), twins Ariel and Gracia (March 17 1996), and triplets Pamela, Paula, and Paulina (1998?). No fertility drugs.
3 sets - Nola A. Arnaud of Louisiana - fraternal Anne and Annette (July 31 1951), identical boys died, identical Yvonne and Yvette (1956). Anne and Yvonne both had identical boys.
3 sets - Josef and Dora Austrich of New York had 3 sets. The father was from Russia and died in 1919.
3 sets - Nancy and John Blackburn had 3 sets born in Ohio, but only a few survived. The mother was a fraternal twin.
3 sets - Jean Bunda (twin George, 1924) - Jeffery and James (1954), Milo and Mary (1956), Paul and Eileen (1960) in Wisconsin. Her mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother were twins.
3 sets - Jackson and Gladys Burke had 3 sets of twins around the time of the first World War.
3 sets - Mrs. Christmas of England had 3 sets of twins, Nancy and Mary (1922), Ethel and George (1925), and Doreen and Walter aged (1929).
3 sets - The Corra family had Gino and Gina (October 31 1926), Orlando and Yolanda, Irma and Norina.
3 sets - Bernice Daigler (maiden name) had 3 sets in New York in the 1920/30s.
3 sets - Christopher and Lucinda Dennis of Pennsylvania had 3 sets of twins - Joanna and Joe (November 29 1868).
3 sets - Mrs Dwyer of Louisiana had in 1901 twins thrice and 2 singles.
3 sets - The Finck family has adopted twin girls, then had boy/girl twins, then boy/boy twins.
3 sets - Ann and John Fyfe had George and Elizabeth (October 35 1863), Jane and David (June 11 and 12 1867), William and Margaret (March 15 1871).
3 sets - The Gallagher family had Dave and Ben, Tom and Aurora, and Jimmy and Bessie.
3 sets - Hancock (unknown) 3 sets of twins and triplets (1900s).
3 sets - Yolanda Harris (age 22) of Virginia has 3 sets of twins (the most recent a boy/girl set). She herself is a fraternal twin, and her sister also had twins.
3 sets - Emily and Tom Hardisty had Cirel and Cecil, Monica and Mavis, and a pair I don't have a name for. Only 2 of the twins survived.
3 sets - Lillian and Shaun Hayman had their third set in 2001, girls named Michaela and Samantha.
3 sets - Ethel Hudson had 18 children, including 3 sets of twins. She died in 1974 at age 73. (take note of this one)
3 sets - Joyner-White (New York) had 3 sets of twins (1 set named Sierra and Serena - 1996) as well as triplets.
3 sets - Asa and Mary Knowlton had Albert and Watson (September 29 1861), Edson and Edgar (July 26 1862), Sophia and an unknown baby (1871).
3 sets - Willem Langschmidt of South Africa was the father of 23 children, including 3 sets of twins in the 1850/60s. (take note of this one...)
3 sets - The Lindquists from Maine had 3 sets of fraternal twins among their 21 children. (take note...)
3 sets - The McMann family had 17 children, including three sets of twins born in 1916, 1917, and 1920. (take note of this...)
3 sets - Mary and William Makinson had 13 children, and 3 sets of twins. Five of the twins died in infancy.
3 sets - Mrs. Maree had fraternal twins (2 boys, 2 girls and boy/girl) in three consecutive years (Oct 10 1961, Oct 4 1962, Nov 30 1963). She did not take any fertility drugs.
3 sets - Nasby and Minnie Mills of Kentucky had 16 children, including 3 sets of twins: Irene and OV (Jun 12 1934), Norman and Orville (Mar 8 1937), Rudolph and Randall (Mar 11 1947). (take note of that, too!)

3 sets - Annie and Harry Mulcahey of New York had 3 sets, and two of the sets died at birth. They had a single child as well, the kids were Elizabeth, Harry Jr., and Joseph.
3 sets - Mrs Murphy of Nebraska give birth to her 3rd set of twins in December 1976.
3 sets - George Murry of Georgia had 3 sets back in the 1800s.

3 sets - Nina Peck (maiden name) had 13 children with 3 sets of twins, one set lived in the early 1900s.
3 sets - Martin and Karin Pelo had 20 children and 3 sets of twins in the 1700s. 9 children died before age 5.
3 sets - The first wife of Thomas Rhoads of Utah had 3 sets.
3 sets - Royster family of Indiana had twins John and Don (d) (1980), twin boys (1984 - none survive), twins, twins and triplets (1 surviving).
3 sets - Nancy and John Scott had three sets of twins in Tennessee in the 1870/80s.
3 sets - Edward and Bertha Scruggs had Clarence and Clara, Ruby and Ruth, and Mack and Marvin in the 1910s/20s.
3 sets - Lisa Sheriff of Pennsylvania had fraternal twins - Jabin and Jared (1989), Jarell and Jabari (1991), Bryce and India on December 30 2002.

3 sets - The Warhoover family had 3 sets: one in 1960, another in 1962 and another in 1963.
3 sets - Olivia Mae Walker of Louisiana had 3 sets of twins as siblings.
3 sets - Mrs. Ada Watson had 25 children, which included 3 sets of twins between 1904 and 1931.

Frustaci septuplets / Saddam Deng SARS

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LEE.. I hope you have a great one today! :) It's been good knowing you.. my sister's very excited about your and Lily's wedding. ;)

Today is an important day in the history of multiples.. the Frustaci septuplets were born in 1985. They were the first set where there were survivors in the world. Four died (Bonnie, Christina, David, James) and three lived (Patricia, Richard, Stephen). Their mother Patti later gave birth to a set of twins (Jaclyn and Jordan) in 1991 (Dec. 21), and then couldn't handle it.. so she ran away.

I just heard a story out of China.. some people have apparently decided to name their kid Saddam Deng SARS. Aiya.. that's a truly bad name.

I should go to bed, but I'm still buzzing on the bubble tea I had earlier.. passion fruit with pearls, which kinda tasted like lychee. Pretty good stuff.. we went to a place in Richmond that sells 'em in one-litre cups (with pearls) for only three dollars. We went there last about two years ago or so.. and they STILL haven't raised the price. Damn good deal, if you ask me. ;)

Facts About Multiples stuff

This whole long post is inspired by a line I was reading just now: "a woman in the USA gives birth to octuplets, nineplets.. or if they can even find a word for it.. 10 kids upwards.. " (and for those of you who are wondering how I can make a long post out of just one line.. that's just me :P) So here's your information.. whether you like it or not! Twins, triplets, quadruplets, quintuplets, and sextuplets are definitely lesser than these really super births! (all fraught with peril, of course...)

The word for having nine babies at a single birth is nonuplets. Close, but no cigar. :D

They can definitely find a word for ten kids and upwards at a single birth: decaplets (10) / undecaplets (11) / duodecaplets (12) / tridecaplets (13) / quadecaplets (14) / quindecaplets (15)..

Septuplets (7)

FIRST SETS
A woman named Edith Bonham (who died in 1469) reportedly gave birth to septuplets with none surviving.

The first births of septuplets I have heard of were to Britt Louise Ericson of Sweden in 1964, the Verhaege-Denayer set in 1966 in Belgium, the Cwihielnik's had 4 boys and 3 girls in 1966 in Massachusetts, and the Jusuf's in Ethiopia in 1969. I assume none survived from any of these sets, or many were miscarried.

LIVING SETS
The McCaughey's of Iowa had Kenneth Robert (3lbs 4ozs), Alexis May (2lbs 11ozs), Natalie Sue (2lbs 10ozs), Kelsey Ann (2lbs 5ozs), Brandon James (2lbs 14ozs), Nathan Roy (3lbs 3ozs), and Joel Steven (2lbs 15ozs). The babies were born on November 19, 1997; they were the first US set to survive, and the first set in the world to survive. They were conceived on the fertility drug Metrodin. Nathan and Alexis have cerebral palsy, but both walk with the aid of walkers.

Hasna Mohammed Humair and her husband Abdullah Ibn Mohammed Sammam have 4 boys and 3 girls born in Saudi Arabia on January 14, 1998; named Fahd (boy), Salman (boy), Sultan (boy), and Al-Anoud (boy), Hind (girl), Naif (girl), and Noura (girl) . The mother was told to expect 4 babies and has 6 other children, and was not trying to get pregnant. She had been given a fertility drug to regulate her menstrual cycle. The father has two other wives and nine other children.

A woman in India gave birth to all male septuplets on September 20, 2002. No word on how many survive.

In addition, there is a set of 7 surviving octuplets, born to Usa Nkem Chukwu in December of 1998. See the section on octuplets for more information.

FIRST US SET
The first set ever born in the US where there were survivors, were the Frustaci septuplets. They were born on May 21, 1985; there were 4 boys and 3 girls. Only three survived. They are Patricia Ann, Richard Charles, and Stephen Earl. Christina Elizabeth was stillborn; Bonnie Marie, James Martin, and David Anthony died shortly after birth. The mother Patti later had a set of twins; Jaclyn and Jordan were born on December 21, 1991.

OTHER SETS
A set was born in Pakistan on July 2, 1985; I am not sure if any of the babies survive.

Susan Halton of England gave birth to septuplets (4 girls, 3 boys) on August 15, 1987. Their names were Ben, Leah, Liam, Christy, Erin, Laura, and Kane. The last survivor, Kane (1lb 8ozs), died on August 31, 1987.

A set was born in India on June 4, 1988.

A set was born in Italy on May 20, 1989.. with none surviving.

Lidia Santartia of Italy had 4 girls and 3 boys on October 23, 1992.. with 5 surviving.

Maria Rocio Diaz Carrillo of Mexico had septuplets (5 girls, 2 boys: Fernando Fabian, Dylan Emmanuel, Yuziri Dayanara [girl], Perla Karina, Rocio Astrid, Daniela Abigail, and Yalanda Iris) on January 21, 1997.. with none surviving.

A woman in Saudi Arabia had septuplets (in September 1997) with one surviving.

The Zapata-Smalls of New Jersey miscarried all 7 of her septuplets on January 30, 2000 at 19 weeks due to a bacterial infection that invaded the womb. The babies were all delivered, but were too small to survive. There were 4 girls and 3 boys.

A Saudi Arabian woman from Virginia gave birth to 5 boys and 2 girls (6 surviving) in Washington DC on July 12, 2001; at 28 weeks. The father is Fahad al-Qahtani, the mother has not been named. The babies are Bandar (boy), Naif (boy), Abdallah (boy), Abdulaziz (boy), Sultan (boy), Haifa (girl), and Shamma (girl). One of the babies died in December 2001 of kidney and liver problems. Three others were still in hospital at that time.

Octuplets

The Louis octuplets were born to Usa Nkem Chukwu and her husband Iyke Louis Udobi of Texas. One baby girl was born December 8, 1998; the rest (5 girls, 2 boys) were born December 20. Their names are Ebuka (girl) 1lb 6ozs, Chidi (girl) 1lb 8.4 ozs, Echerem (girl) 1lb 9.7ozs, Chima (girl) 1lb 7.5ozs, Odera (girl) 10.3ozs, Ikem (boy) 1lb, Jioke (boy) 1lb 10ozs, and Gorom (girl) 1lb 7ozs. The smallest of the Louis babies, Odera, died December 27, 1998. They have a younger sibling (Favor) born in 2002.

An Italian woman, Mariella Mazzara Pirerra, gave birth to octuplets, with four (3 girls, 1 boy) currently surviving. She gave birth to one, a girl named Margherita (died October 10), on September 13, 2000.. and Michele (boy), Angelo Gabriele (boy; died September 17), Cristina (died September 18), Girolamo (boy; died September 20), Rosa Maria, Marta, and Connie on September 17th.

There has been only nine other births of octuplets; none where all 8 babies survived:

A set was born in Mexico (4 girls, 4 boys) on December 3, 1967.. but none survived.
Katerina Zerbini of Greece had octuplets on July 9, 1977; 5 girls and 3 boys.. all of whom died within 3 days of birth.
There are 2 surviving octuplets that were born in Italy to the Chianese family on August 16, 1979. The two surviving girls (of 5 girls, 3 boys) are Silvana and Anna. Valentina was the last girl to die, and two boys were named Luca and Francesco. The family had conceived and lost a set of sextuplets before this.
A Turkish woman, Sevil Capan, gave birth to octuplets (5 boys, 3 girls) on December 20, 1985.. but all 8 died within 3 days.
Rosario Clavijo (of Huelva, Spain) had octuplets on December 5, 1996.. with 6 (4 boys, 2 girls) surviving. Their names are David, Angel (boy), Miguel, Andres, Belen (girl) and Blanca.
Mandy Allwood, of England, was pregnant with octuplets (6 boys, 2 girls) in 1996. The first three were boys born on September 30 at only 19 weeks. The other five (3 boys and 2 girls) were born on October 2. None survived.

Octuplets were also recorded in Australia (1971), in Greece (1977), and in Salvador (1996).

A woman in Alaska was pregnant with octuplets in 1985, and was reduced to twins.

Nonuplets

A 29-year-old woman in Malaysia gave birth to nonuplets on March 26, 1999.. but none of the 5 boys and 4 girls survived more than 6 hours. The babies were named Adam, Nuh (boy), Idris (boy), Soleh (boy), Hud, Aishah (girl), Khadijah (girl), Fatimah (girl), and Umi Kalsom (girl). The mother, Zurina Mat Saad, had been using fertility drugs and was told she was having sextuplets before she delivered the nine babies at 21 weeks.

Mrs. Geraldine Broderick of Australia had nonuplets on June 13, 1971. There were 5 boys and 4 girls. Two males were stillborn, and baby Richard (12 ozs) lived 6 days. None survived.

There were also nonuplets reported in Philadelphia on May 29, 1972 with none surviving; England in 1976 (none survived); in Bangladesh on May 11, 1977 to a 30-year-old mother (none survived); and Italy in 1979. (this might actually be the Chianese family who had octuplets)

A Sudanese woman is pregnant with nonuplets. She is 2 months along as of July 2002, and is currently in a Saudi Arabian hospital.

Decaplets (10), Undecaplets (11), Duodecaplets (12), Tridecaplets (13), Quadecaplets (14), Quindecaplets (15) +

The highest number of babies reported at a single birth were decaplets (10) to a woman in Brazil on April 22, 1946. There were two boys and eight girls, but it wasn't listed how many (if any) survived. There were also decaplets reported in Spain in 1924; and in China on May 12, 1936.

A woman named Zoe Efsthatiou of Cyprus was 23 at the time she conceived 11 babies in 1996 after using fertility drugs. She elected to undergo selective reduction and reduce to 4. I am not sure of the outcome.

In 1988, a woman in Switzerland miscarried 12 fetuses.

Quindecaplets (15) were reportedly removed from the womb of a 35-year-old woman in Rome on July 22, 1971. The fetuses were 10 girls and 5 boys. Fertility drugs were responsible.
