Valentine's Day / Eric H. hangout / Questions 4851-4900 of 5000

Image hosting by Photobucket

Have a very Happy Valentine's Day! Good luck avoiding all the smoopy-poopy!

St. Valentine's Day Massacre 77 years ago today:

Talked to Eric H. for a while: he wants to come over and chill / update blogs tomorrow, which is fine by me. (I remember what happened last year!) He brought it up, which I totally wasn't expecting. Pizza Hut sounds fine: I wouldn't drive Pho or Chinese noodles over here, and I just had fried chicken yesterday! (it satisfied Danielle's craving for such stuff, too!) He seems to think I have board games, but I just have boxes full of books. (Rage Against the Machine Bulls on Parade parody: "They try to play board games / With boxes full of books!"... yeah, I suck at parody. :P) The wind today was certainly ferocious: it blew over his garbage cans and his blue boxes! Maybe it'll be better tomorrow.

Note: LJ Prime Ministerial Cabinet blogquiz. (by Maddy)

Got these questions from this QuestionClub LJ post by Arthurbulla. I'm going to post the survey in 50-question batches, like the original. No worries there! Five thousand questions and answers wouldn't fit as an entry, anyhow. :P

The only complete copy... you'll have to go around erasing answers.

4851. Have you paid your parents back for raising you? Hmm... Not really.

4852. In America, public schools are funded with the property taxes from the houses within the school district. Imagine you live in a wealthy area with very good public schools. How would you feel about students from a less wealthy area being bussed into your school district at no extra charge to their parents? I probably wouldn't care much at all.

4853. Should a child's education really depend on how much money their parents have? No.

4854. Would you only feel required to help your own kids get a good education? Yes.

4855. Would it benefit you personally if all children had access to a good education? Yes.
Would your streets be safer? Yes.
Would there be less drugs and violence? Not necessarily.
Would there be more innovation at jobs? Yes.

4856. Andrew J. O'Conner, a former public defender from Santa Fe, was arrested in a public library and interrogated by Secret Service agents for five hours on February 13th, 2002. His crime? He said "Bush is out of control" on an Internet chat room, and was arrested for threatening the President. Your thoughts? As if that's a big deal. It's controversial, man!

This is not about some fool of a Secret Service agent jumping the gun on an innocuous online comment. This is a failure from the top down, an empowerment - by the man charged with defending our constitution - of lesser jackasses with large badges who do not understand nor care for the importance of their positions. This is about failed leadership, and the despoiling of everything that makes this place precious and unique and sacred. In other words, Bush is out of control. - William Rivers Pitt

4857. Let's play a drinking game where we drink every time Bush says "axis of evil" or "evildoers" or "weapons of mass destruction." How many times do you imagine you would have to drink in one hour? At least 3000.

4874. Would you rather date someone 3 feet tall or 9 feet tall? 9.

4875. What do you think of Americans calling fries and toast fried in egg batter Freedom Fries and Freedom Toast instead of French Fries and French toast? Too politically correct and scaremongerish. :P
