Billie and Terry
Billie just let me know that she can't make it tomorrow, as both her parents are working. Dang, that sucks since I was looking forward to seeing her! I've talked to David S. for once, and at least he's doing well. Thank goodness I can bug Snoopy anytime, haha. (well, kinda...) Steph says that she and Eric will pick me up at church on the way to Citrus' place on Saturday, otherwise we'll be late. I should remember to tell Henry, then...
Terry also just emailed me back, saying that he'd been on a trip to Seattle to refresh himself. I forwarded it to my brother, and also replied to him. He doesn't find community at church or much continuity within our fellowship, either. To him, it's like we meet on Friday nights and nothing really happens after that. (Dragon Ball and other assorted outings aren't an example of such?! :P) On Sunday, he just goes to church and nothing really goes on afterwards. (it's called the Sunday syndrome, although I'm sure there are things going on later besides meetings and such!) He thinks it might be because people have grown up in the church, and then a sense of complacency has developed... but he doesn't know. Regardless, he often questions himself about why he comes out on Friday night. Lately, he even wonders why he's coming on Sundays. But he doesn't want to say or complain anymore than this... he thinks he may just need to have a fresh start and gain a new perspective in his quest to find a church home.
At least he really thanks me for my email in showing care and concern for him. He went so far as to say that it was certainly heartwarming! Well, if he ever wants to go to these dinners, he knows what to do. (contact me) Corey thinks he doesn't know enough people... that might be the case since he IS kinda new! Maybe I should see if Jesse is free tomorrow, although maybe not since I'm not even sure of his full email address. (I just saw it written on the back of a business card at Jeremy's!) But maybe it's on the dinner list, and I did save Jon's last email about that in case I needed the email addresses on it. (for personal purposes only, NOT SPAM!) I've checked, and it's not... oh well. Maybe next time I see him, I'll ask for it! Not sure that the email list has changed much since the first dinner anyhow, heh.
Ooh, it was Jay's birthday yesterday too. Should have given him pre-birthday wishes last week when I saw him online... oh well, maybe later!
