Happy Birthday, Dave! / LJ RQ, Internet musings, Poetry, Superhero Quiz
First of all:
Approximate Phonetic Chinese Version of "Happy Birthday": (thanks, Nathan!)
"Guung juuk nay fook sow yuen teen tsai, hing hong nay sun sun fie lok. Leen leen doe yao gum yut, suuy doe yao gum jzew, guung hay nay! Guung hay nay!!!"
Approximate English Translation of Above:
"Congrats on this good day of fortune, where we can all gather together. Wishing you a very happy birthday. Every year, this wondrous day arrives; Always, this wondrous time comes. Congratulations! Congratulations!"
Hope you have a good birthday, and a great year to come! :)
You've been a very good friend to me, and I thank you for it! Cheers!
Just discovered that I'm not exactly well-liked in LJ RQ by certain people. While this should be really old news... I sent a Merzbow mix CD and a Christmas card to Meredith, a Christmas card to Aaron, and postcards to Geo and Evelyn V. (there are other people in that community who dislike me, but I never sent them anything as far as I know) I guess they seemed nice at first, but changed for some reason. Maybe it's me that has changed, but I don't think so. I've just been the same person as I always have, which is why I probably am going through the same thought processes (though MUCH less so) as I did when I discovered Corinne Gingy didn't like me at all even after meeting me in person at the Vancouver Dopefest in summer 2002. (note: Dopefests technically have nothing to do with illegal drugs at all :P) I also found negative things there about Chris H. and Caryn: aiyoh!
Ah well, I'd say it's only the Internet. But some people don't seem to get that entities with flesh, blood, and feelings are at the end of these ethereal wires and cables which connect us. Now, I've been guilty myself of saying certain things "because it's only the Internet" (some of which I wish I could take back), but I'd like to think I've grown / changed / learned from those experiences. Of course, I've learned to not let it affect me so much, especially if it's coming from people I don't like anyhow. But here's something you may not know about me: I try to get along with everyone, as you do. But sometimes it just doesn't work. Maybe I'm too nice. At any rate, I wouldn't turn my back on anyone reading this. :D
Oh, and I wrote a poem earlier tonight. My occasional muse bit me again, what can I say? But I won't post it here, haha.

Batman Congratulations! You scored a super 61%! |
Cool, calm, and powerful. Whilst your actual super abilities may not be anything too dazzling, you have earned the respect of both friends and enemies in response to your amazing fighting skills, strategic combat, and experience. Luckily, you have access to the greenbacks which can fund all your majorly cool gadgets, vehicles and weapons! Also, you're reluctant but still accepting to the idea of having a teammate / sidekick, which just makes everything a whole lotta fun, doesn't it now! On the downside, you've probably suffered some sort of trauma at a young age (that's why we don't talk to the old man near the swings, kids). Similar to the Wolverine, your past is a base for your current motivation, undertaking some kind of personal vow in search of justice. All in all though, you're one tough nut. There aren't a lot of people who have the minerals to go up against you, and you're experienced enough not to get cocky and let the little things like never finding happiness get you down! |
My test tracked 1 variable How you compared to other people your age and gender:
