Computers, insects, Z 95.3, Friday Five on books, Arby's Sauce, jeans, passion, studying
This computer and the insect flying around are annoying me. Argh!
Hahaha... someone (Darren Schilling) from Z 95.3 wants to be added as one of my Myspace friends. It's been ages since I've been a Z person, but whatever!
Friday Five on Books
1. What book or books were special to you in your childhood? Books by Laura Ingalls Wilder, L.M. Montgomery, Louisa May Alcott, or Madeleine L'Engle.
2. What was particularly special or memorable about those books? The way the characters lived in the "olden days," and grew up / changed through the years.
3. Have you re-read any of them as an adult? Yes.
4. If so, were the books as good as you remembered them? Sometimes, yeah.
5. What do you think about movies being made out of children's classics (like the Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of The Rings, etc.)? That's cool... yet another way to imagine things. :D
Arby's Sauce
Although the beef sandwiches from Arby's would be very hard to duplicate since they are made from specially-processed beef hunks, thinly sliced, this fast food chain's barbecue sauce can be cloned easily. Now you can whip up this slightly tangy sauce to put on your own homemade sandwich creations, even barbecued ribs or chicken.
1 cup ketchup
2 teaspoons water
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon Tabasco pepper sauce
1. Combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce begins to boil in 5 to 10 minutes.
2. Remove the sauce from the heat. Cover and allow to cool.
3. Pour into a covered container for storage in your refrigerator. Keeps for a month or two. Makes 1 cup.
