Group Hug, Worst Jobs in History, Chocolate, Spectral Analysis, and More!

I emailed Eric M., and then he showed up on MSN: whee! Being there at around 6:30 straight from work? Heh, that's fine... at least then I can stay home and not have to be too perky. :P Although he says that he could give me a ride, but he doesn't know if he'll be able to eat... yikes! He doesn't want anything from me, which is fine. He brought up blubber schnitzel, gooey spider cakes, kaldorei spider kabobs, and spider sausage as possible dinner items: I prefer Pho, thanks. (although apparently I should look up "kaldorei" on Wikipedia) He'll be here at around 6:05 after leaving his office: just time enough to take a shower! Seeya!

Group Hug... an old favorite site of mine. "True" confessions... comedy gold!

I was just looking at my Cool Tricks and Trinkets Newsletter from Charles Kessler, and found these gems to share with you:

Worst Jobs In History

For those that think their current occupation is miserable, this website is sure to be a healthy reality check. The Worst Jobs in History is the site behind the UK television show of the same name, which explores the most painful professions that have existed in the past 2,000 years of British History.

Gratefully read about the arduous working lives of laborers during the Roman / Anglo-Saxon, Medieval, Tudor, Stuart, Georgian, and Victorian Eras. Each job on the site is described in hilarious but shocking detail, as visitors learn the horrid duties of Violin-string Makers, Fullers, Leech Collectors, Roman gold miners and other positions held by those that conventional history has forgotten.

The History of Chocolate

Chocolate, perhaps the most universally loved food of our time, was first enjoyed by the Mayans and Aztecs over 2,000 years ago. This delicious site focuses on the history of Cacao, and its evolution over the course of two millennia of human culture.

The History of Chocolate traces this beloved food from its humble roots as a Mesoamerican luxury, to its revered status as a European Sweet, all the way into its present role as a ubiquitous modern-day confection. In addition to reading about its past, visitors to this tasty website will learn about its unique medicinal properties, its religious roles in certain cultures, as well as get tips on making their own chocolate. Yum!

Dragon Banner
You're a dragon. You're smart and cunning, and enjoy taking risks. Your need for independence is an advantage, but sometimes it alienates you from others. As far as *good* and *evil*, you're pretty neutral -- but you may have something of a wicked streak.

What mythical beast are you?

Sweet! Just my kind of result! :D
