Emulators and classic computer games

I finally downloaded an Apple-II emulator, so that I can play some of the old classic games that don't work on modern computers anymore... you can click on the disk image, and it'll play, I think. Must be like the thing Corey told me about earlier tonight after he told me that he's never heard of Cross Country Canada / USA:

[23:39:06] mrptptpt: so you're downloading old computer games now? :P go find a torrent of games compatible with ScummVM.. like Day of the Tentacle, Sam & Max, Full Throttle, The Dig.... Indiana Jones & The Fate of Atlantis.... very good old adventure games. they won't be on that site, but torrent sites should have most of them, maybe all in one torrent
[23:41:34] AlenaBrolxFlami: ScummVM?!
[23:43:42] mrptptpt: Scumm is the name of the program LucasArts used to make all those games. ScummVM is a program that simulates that, and allows Scumm games to be played properly on modern computers

Strategy which I don't think I'll ever use, but you never know:
Easy Money
First, start the game you usually do in naming yourself and your companions, choosing your occupation, and deciding when to set out. Once all that is done, you'll be able to start buying goods from the fort. Buy 1 pound of food and as many oxen as possible (this should be 20, unless you're the teacher, in which case, 19). DON'T BUY ANYTHING ELSE!!! Once you click "buy," you'll be in town. Click trade and select "money." Type in "55" for the amount. One of 3 events will happen: no trade, trade for 1 oxen, or trade for 2 oxen. Only say "trade" for 1 oxen. If one of the others comes up, just try to trade again. If you do get to trade, repeat until you only have 1 ox. When this happens, go back to the first buying screen and buy 19 more oxen. Repeat the trading process. The reason this works is that the game randomly chooses the event that will happen for the trade. By a minimum, you must have 1 pound of food and 1 ox. The game must therefore allow you to only trade oxen for the money. As they are the most expensive commodity, you will get the most profit from them. From repeated testing, 55 is the best rate for ease in typing, probability of only having to trade 1 ox, and still make a decent profit ($35 per ox... after a 175% markup from the price you pay). One round of selling 19 oxen this way lands in a total profit of over $600. Best used at the very start of the game. Handy for raising your score too (Way to go, teacher! 3.5 multiplier on a massive score already!). Repeat as desired.

Gaslamp Ball Meets The Oregon Trail

The only problem is that now my DVD sound is all cracked and wheezy. That's what God made the radio and TV for, haha! Here's a funny site I found while looking around for the emulators and stuff, and here's the site with a working ROM. I wasn't part of the lunchtime crowd who enjoyed killing off all my friends and naming them offensive names, but I can see how that might be fun. I've also downloaded Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? for more of the classic vibe. :D
