Another friendship bites the dust... / Questions 3401-3450 of 5000 / "Holy kick my ass!" / Quizzes
Darned computer crashing when I had just finished writing this post for the first time. This is the re-written version (darn the spacing not being accurate, so I had to fix that too!), which isn't really as good... oh well. Bedtime now. But one more thing: "Holy kick my ass!" is the funniest thing I've heard all day, aside from the usual Eric M. jokes.
I just got rather curtly told in a message board PM by my friend Erik Lee that he / she doesn't want to converse with me anymore because I "humiliated" him / her, and it's too much to forgive me twice for the same offense. Apparently, the anonymous commenter of the other day was right: he'd seen things which he shouldn't have. Then again, I have my suspicions that the commenter was Erik Lee in the internet flesh. I could tell by the general content: "You'd better hope that aryk29 doesn't see this... it was posted against the person's specific wishes, and one of your "friends" isn't talking to you for this reason. Apparently, it wasn't the first time either... I am appalled!" (although it could have been someone we both know who has it in for me) I know I should have trusted Corey, Eric H., and Darren! (good ol' Darren for giving me hugs, and all of them for talking me through it)
I accept the blame, but I should have changed the security settings on those posts a LONG time ago... that, or done it right the first time. I'm heartbroken, sigh. Even with that, I can still see the humor in the situation: I referred to my ex-friend as "him" to Corey, and "her" to Alyson while sending someone else a Bookworm Crack. (yet another person needs to get it from me, yo!) I don't want to know what'll happen if I refer to this person as an "it," haha. I was only recording them as a way to look back on it later, however.... there were no Trillian history files (what I'd normally use) that I could see. As for the board, I was there first (and I introduced it to him!), so I'll stay on. Maybe I'll get Chimpy to post more, if I ever talk to him! Ah well, it's a lesson learned about privacy and security... but this is the third friendship in two weeks, and the first not at my behest. At this rate, I won't have any friends left by the end of the year. =/
