Almost dying on trips, and a hockey loss

Tonight, I talked to Corey for a brief time since he was in a Dumas, TX hotel room: he messaged me with some balloons, and said his trip was okay.. BBQ food, pizza, Thanksgiving, the HP movie, video games, etc. (his dad likes to say "Dumbass" instead of "Dumas," which reminds me that Eric likes saying "Dumb Fries" instead of "Dumfries" whenever we pass / go on that street!) I even yelled at him once... good times, indeed. I'll talk to him when he's home tomorrow if he doesn't almost die again: they were stuck for an hour behind a wreck in which someone DID die (and someone else lost an arm) since someone else spun out suddenly in the torrential Houston rain. This is why road trips suck, and you shouldn't ever go on a car ride. :P I seriously doubt I'll be online tomorrow at 5-6 AM, so tomorrow should be fine for the craziness. :D

The Canucks deserved to have some more goals than they did, but Curtis Joseph was brilliant in his 407th career win, which ties him with "Mr. Goalie" (Glenn Hall) for seventh place overall... the Phoenix Coyotes made two first-period goals stand up in their 2-1 win. They play the Colorado Avalanche tomorrow in their second game in 24 hours: today's game started at 7, and tomorrow's game starts at 6. Shane Doan missed a penalty shot, which Alex Auld was excellent at saving for us. Too bad we didn't win, but then we took a lot of penalties that erased our power plays... taking yourselves off three straight power plays late in the game is NOT good! The three stars were Keith Ballard, Curtis Joseph (second star on a night when you tie a legend's record and play really well?!), and Sean O'Donnell (who ended a 62-game goal drought).

In other news, former Canuck Marek Malik FINALLY had a goal in the longest shootout in NHL history: it took 15 rounds before the New York Rangers won against the Washington Capitals! If you can't play hockey anymore and you still love the game, you may as well coach as Wayne Gretzky chose to with Phoenix. I don't know what the weather will be like in Denver, either: apparently, they're expecting snow flurries. But that's part of travel, and the pilot of the plane the team's about to catch will figure things out!
