Dragon Ball, digicam fun, KUNG FU HUSTLE, Jeremy, and Nathan

Right now, I'm at Nathan's. Jon, Eric, Nathan, Jeremy, Steve, Tim, Mark (Jon's CRU friends), and I spent an hour or so at Dragon Ball having some (pudding) bubble tea and talking. It's been some time since we've gone there: we love the relaxed vibe since a few of us were there before others showed up, and the employees there didn't rush us like they would have in Toronto with menus and such! Someone decided to put three tables together to create a big one: good thing we got there before it was really busy, since we were like half their business! We talked about the contrast between high school / university / grad school grading and work ethic, about liquor stores and the taste Jon had for beer now (his Toronto friends call him a beer snob), and about summer plans / work / scholarships. When Jon asked what the hours were at the closest liquor store, Nathan thought he was talking about a Pho restaurant and suggested the nearest 24-hour one! He had an excuse, since he's still sick! That was amusing, though!

Steve had a hilarious story of how one of his friends called his bluff. She'd asked him if he had any interest at all in going to a Ludacris concert. He thought she was kinda joking, so he said sure! Imagine his surprise when she actually bought him a ticket! He explained that he thought she'd been joking, but no go. Finally, he managed to get rid of the ticket by giving it to someone else who WAS interested! Hahaha! Jeremy also showed us his pretty Korean cherry blossom / Korean flag key chain.. it was awesome!

When Steve, Tim, and Mark left, the five of us decided to downsize the table since it looked rather ridiculous. Besides, it freed up space for the other people who were now streaming into the bubble tea house! We talked about Chinese / artsy movies, Dave and Dawn, MSN, Jen, plans for next week, and other such things. Nathan recognized a girl in Dragon Ball as a family friend, and spent some time embarrassing her: "Wow, I feel like one of those 40-year-old uncles at a family dinner saying: 'Aiya, Helen! You've grown up a lot! You're 17 now!' " :D

Later, we amused ourselves by watching funny digicam videos of Dave and Jon dancing around... and Jon and his friend Mary posing with beer bottles at Alan's house. Then Jeremy and Eric decided to stack all the empty bubble tea cups together somehow: it looked like we'd gone through way more bubble tea than was healthy to consume! Of course, we HAD to take more pictures: in one of them, Nathan does look like a 300-pound overweight Buddha! :D

Later, we decided to let Eric and Nathan practice their worship music at Nathan's. I was good to go with the idea, especially since Jeremy and I could get in a sneak preview of Kung Fu Hustle. (it's in theatres now, but thank goodness for MAL!) There was a bit of a problem with the VCD, but it was just the sneak preview before the actual movie! Jeremy and I settled in to watch it while the guys practiced, but then the movie got pixellated and slow... it was shaping up to be a good one, too! (Chinese gangsters and death, anyone?)

Now Jeremy's gone up to get food since he hasn't had dinner yet.. Korean food is the best! Good thing Nathan's dad isn't into ripping the legs off live shrimp just before he cooks them, either! In the time it's taken me to write this long entry, the movie appears to be working normally again, and Jeremy's joined us once more. Definitely a good night!
