The teens are eating machines, dude! / Bathroom Reader Gift List
Within five minutes of getting to church, I was able to help out my friends... that's always a good feeling! Dianne said that her sister Cindy had a Blackberry in Australia (she's coming back on Tuesday), and had requested Friday's newspaper for some reason. But they don't have it, and neither does Vanessa. So I said that I probably still had it, which Dianne termed SUPER! I'll bring it next week: no mental health weeks for me, even if I *was* mostly joking with that construct last week! ;)
During service, Steph and Citrus were writing notes on the bulletin and using that as their primary method of communication to talk about stuff. Hey, it's better than whispering! ;) I passed Danielle's birthday card to her, which she thanked me for. Then I passed a card to my sister to sign for our mom's birthday: Citrus said we could kill two birds with one stone since Mom's birthday coincides with Mother's Day this year... too true! I should have perhaps brought our parents' anniversary card for her to sign too, but there's still 10 days after Mother's Day for that one, haha. (I was sitting behind Steph, Citrus, and Danielle anyhow: easy enough to do all those things since I wasn't passing it between two or more rows of pews! :P)
Afterwards, David gave his form for the Awana outing next week to me: I trusted him to remember that, heh. Within 15-20 minutes, I'd given it to Sarah so she could give it to her mom to process. I talked to Eric, Jeremy, Hannah, Phil, Joey, Chris T., Jen, Andrea, Brian, Stanley, Chrystal, and Fidela (she's BACK... YAY!) about various things: movies, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 3, life, plans, the hockey game last night (apparently, Gilbert Brule waved at my sister last night), Wikipedia, birthday cards, coffee (not at 11:40!), Sunday School / toddler supervision (they were NOT running ragged!), getting together (we've been saying that for the past 3 years!), etc. Stanley wondered why I knew his birthday when he didn't tell anybody: you told me last year, and I haven't forgotten! Margaret K. said that she'd give him birthday beats tomorrow on MSN thanks to some "slapping" emoticon her friend has... haha, that sounds good!
After Sunday School, I was waiting for my family to finish doing various things before we went out to lunch. I decided that I might as well use the time productively and call Helen to see what was up. Turns out that she actually meant this past Tuesday when she said we'd get together, and not this one coming up as I'd thought. She apologized for the miscommunication, which I took in stride: these things happen! She'd tried to call me and thought I'd gone out... her baby Nicholas was getting tired from being out all day, anyhow. But we do have a date now: Tuesday, May 16 at around 11 after her doctor's appointment. (AKA ex's birthday... whee! :P) We can certainly call each other if something comes up between now and then, of course.. or just to confirm. She wasn't at church today since Nicholas got up early and then overslept when she put him back to bed... very understandable!
At lunch, I had a cold yin-yang (half milk coffee, half milk tea) for the first time in a long time! Steph brought up Cimona's for Mom's birthday dinner, which is the place I treated her to last year for graduation. (steak and key lime cheesecake is GOOD!) Mom wanted Hon's since it was cheaper if we'd be treating even a day late... lunch is covered by Grandma buying four tickets for the Koinonia luncheon. (Steph figures they won't be back yet from the Chilliwack conference even if they DID say "lunch," har har) We went out to buy stuff after lunch: we discussed Christon's job, Vivian S. and new food, church stuff, food, Anna Nicole Smith and that old millionaire dude, Paris Hilton, the Cactus Club, and more. I told Steph to buy Mom a Mother's Day card, since those weren't out yet when I bought my latest batch of dollar store cards on April 6... she agreed, so that's one less thing I need to get! :D (I could have made her go halfsies on the OUTLANDER book I bought Mom, but nah...)
My sister and I were discussing what she'd do when our parents are out of town for the long weekend, and for two weeks at the end of June. Mom thinks I'll come over, but those parental controls affect my updating. The LJ and GJ update pages are the same thing, yet GJ gets blocked and LJ doesn't! o_O I emphasized to Mom that it had nothing to do with PORN or chatrooms or any of that (which is what she thought originally...), and she immediately thought that I'd go to RateMyPoo.com ... *rolleyes* I don't THINK so!
Grandma bought me some Chinese Hup Seng cream crackers: I was going to get some seaweed, but figured that the crackers would be more practical since I won't eat them all in one sitting like I might with 100 things of seaweed! (hey, I ate 80 things of seaweed in one night recently! :P) Then she bought me some BBQ pork, and gave me a bag and a purse. Mom said that she'd give Steph some just-expired crackers for the teens: it's true that they're kinda like eating machines, as Steph says! ("You give them something to eat, and it's gone when you turn around 30 seconds later!") That reminds me: I have a bunch of lollipops that I thought I'd eat, but they've just been sitting here for months. Maybe I'll pack those to give to the teens sometime too, haha.
I must make a new post sometime with the newest loony laws from Bathroom Readers #17 and on, heh. :D
