30-Hour Famine, skunks, Good Friday, food, hockey memories, 1994 Stanley Cup run and riot
After Steph and Ivan picked me up, we went to pick YoYo up. She asked what we'd done today: Ivan had gone to the morning Chinese Good Friday service (which he said was effective), while my sister and I had just slept a lot. (Steph didn't wake up till Mom called, surprised that she was still in bed!) I told them the story of how my friend Jason had gone running and had a skunk spray his car... EW GROSS! We bemoaned the Canucks' fate this season, although they didn't deserve to get into the playoffs anyhow. Steph and I tried not to mention food around the other two, but failed... then again, YoYo had been to Richmond Centre today with a friend AND in the food court! (she'll get her friend back next week during HER 30-Hour Famine, ha ha)
The Good Friday service itself was nice... I played with baby Megan, and finally got Rosenda's birthday, hee hee. (Aug. 6) Talked to some of the teens going through the 30-Hour Famine, and of course they were hungry! Vivian's sister is leaving for France on Thursday, and she's excited about that! She's finished her exams, but of course there's the parental desires around cleaning the house to field. Ah well, not much to do about that! Olivia wanted Margaret to run in her flip-flops since it looked funny... I think those teens will have a very interesting time tonight! Singing, drumming, piano playing, being madcap and hyper: anything to distract them from food!
Eric said he'd give me a ride home, but had to do some stuff first. Our of respect for the teens, he ate some Subway and I ate some fruit snacks in the back of the sanctuary. We were going to leave, but Phil was blocking us. When we came back to look for Phil, Cordia bugged Eric about bringing food inside even though she wasn't doing the 30-Hour-Famine! Eric said that it was okay since Darren had already smelled it! On the way home, we listened to Sportstalk reminiscing about NHL hockey in Vancouver. It's their last week ever doing Vancouver Canucks hockey on NW, since it's now moved to MOJO AM 730. Man, that Game 6 in Vancouver in 1994 was HUGE since it gave us a chance to win the Stanley Cup in Madison Square Garden against the Rangers! But we didn't, which sparked a riot. Eric bugged me about criminal activities involving my butt (you don't want to know!), and said that he could give me and my sister a ride home on Sunday. That sounds good since she has YoYo's baptism to attend in Richmond, and I don't want to be stuck at church till 5 with the other baptisms going on!
Right now, Corey's bugging me about being drunk since I sent him a typo-filled message about barrels of monkeys. I swear, my fingers are cooperating less lately... GRR. Speaking of food, it's time to eat some spicy chicken noodles and then do some overdue community management. :D
