"Check out the orange moon!" / Bonus Questions 5051-5100

No, not THAT kind of orange moon... perverts. ;)

Eric picked me up at 6:20, and reminded me to Wikipedia "fluffy pink marshmallows" along with "kaldorei." I didn't have time to do that when I got off MSN with him, since I took a shower and then got ready to go out! We discussed the Jonestown Massacre (which HE wasn't going to Wikipedia!), CSI, craziness, songs, gas prices, and his dad calling to see whether he'd be home for dinner. (not likely since he'd already picked me up and we were heading towards the bridge!) When we got to church, Eric noticed that I wasn't going into the building, and asked me whether we were in the church or the CE building. We were in the church, but I was going to eat some Pho (large 9) first since I had time! (there was this cute kid that I interacted with... I love kids!)

When I got back to church, I talked about Reading Break with Sheena while we checked out Christon's pictures / videos from the Starfield concert on his digicam. He'd given some pictures to Janette, which she apparently hadn't given her brother Jason yet... oops. I got a ride in tomorrow with Sam, and also gave Vanessa the money I owed her, which she appreciated. Ben wanted Nathan to play Stairway to Heaven on his guitar, which wasn't happening since he forgot how that went! (when Jon gets back, maybe HE can play it!) After Fellowship, I talked to Nathan / Eric / Frances / Andrea about personality types since that was part of our discussion. I seem to be an IIFP, and we joked about how Eric certainly was Perceiving since he was constantly late! (hahaha)

Frances and I discussed our plans for the weekend: Awana, church, memorial service for some girl who got caught in an avalanche, dinner with her / Mel's parents, birthday parties, etc. She also asked how the toddlers were in Sunday School, and whether the format had changed any: singing's now at the end instead of the beginning, which doesn't quite capture their attention as much as storytime does, but I don't know why Auntie Cynthia and Auntie Tracy changed it! Andrea's been to see Billy and Stella's new baby boy: they think they'll name him Benjamin, and they were so set on the name Naomi for a girl! Nathan made up jokey names such as Bonita and Benomi... sure, you can convince Stella of those when she gets back! The baby's such a boy, and scrunches up his forehead a lot: he also wants to eat constantly, just like Billy. We can't believe Billy's a dad now, but apparently he's quite into it! There's this full-screen TV thing at their place, and you can watch the birth. (ew?) She also updated me on how Elaine was doing in Hawaii: Sophia and John are visiting with her, and it does help to have someone there when you get home! Maybe she'll come visit in the summer... who knows? We also discussed Brokeback Mountain and her feeling sick.

Frances, Eric, and I then waited around for the other group to be done: Eric joked to Nathan that we were going to assassinate everyone else. We discussed how much we knew about the other people at church: Frances knows Eric since he's been here a while, drives me, and is Jon's friend. She asked how Jon was: Eric says he's walking 14K for some cause or other: I didn't get the email he apparently sent out to a bunch of people! (Jeremy's visiting him too!) Eventually, Christon came out and invited us to hang with his group since they were done. Yay for not having to hang around on the staircase near the guys' washroom! :P So we did, and discussed food / hockey teams / Steph for a while. The Sweden-USA game is something else, since it's always been Canada-USA when it comes to the Olympics! When the girls were FINALLY done, Karen told us that she was going to France by herself to pick up Vivian.. they'll hang out for about three weeks, and would stay longer except for Karen's summer school. We're all so JEALOUS! After a bunch of joking around (which included Steph telling us about the time she elbowed Rachel in the face on a school ski trip!), we all left the church... Eric told me that he didn't think we were going to eat with Phil, which was fine with me! (he hadn't eaten since his big lunch, so I was concerned... Daniel got stuff for Nathan to eat, so that was fine)

On the way home, Vanessa called Steph to bug her about a certain song. Then she called back to tell us to look at the low moon, which we couldn't do right then. But we certainly saw it while we were on the bridge: it was definitely very orange! We discussed plans for tomorrow: I'll get an early ride home from church at 5:30 with my dad. I probably can't help with the recording work at the end of Awana with game scores and such, but then I get to be online earlier than normal... such is the tradeoff! (I'd have talked to Auntie Rebecca about it, but forgot... I could talk to Michelle about it too, but she might not be able to) Steph's sleeping over at Vivian's, hanging out with Grandma, and then driving Ivan's friends to Floodlight. We also discussed Eric H. and his paying for pizza / wings / Brokeback Mountain... no, we are NOT going out since Fay's in China and such! :P Good times, even though my sister thinks I'm horrible for liking true crime and stuff about killers / massacres!

Got these questions from this QuestionClub LJ post by Arthurbulla. I'm going to post the survey in 50-question batches, like the original. No worries there! Five thousand questions and answers wouldn't fit as an entry, anyhow. :P

The only complete copy... you'll have to go around erasing answers.

5051. Is it as easy to make you happy now as it was when you were a child? I actually think it's easier in some ways, and harder in others. Meh.

5052. Watch a child breathe. It will fill its lungs completely with air. Adults shallow breathe, not filling their lungs completely. Why the change? Children don't care as much about pollutants and such as adults do.

5053. Does each person have their own dramatic personal mythology, including you? Yes.

5054. Are you completely in control of your body? No.

How about your mind? Somewhat.

5055. Do you know yourself well enough to understand why you feel the way you do? Not really.

5056. Why is it better to put your feelings into your own words than to let movies and songs and books put them into words for you? So you know how you yourself feel, without any other influences.

5057. Are you very precise about what words you use to describe your feelings and thoughts? Sometimes.

5058. Pick any noun: Bubble.

5059. Now say it, think it, and type it until it loses all meaning: Bubble bubble bubble bubble bubble bubble bubble bubble bubble bubble bubble bubble bubble bubble bubble bubble.

5060. Are you thinking anything strange and new about that word? No.

5061. Are you wondering what that word really means? No.

5062. What is the essence of that word? It is something you can eat (bubble tea), something you can pop, something in a wrap, and a part of a video game.

5063. Insert the word into this sentence:

A blue __your word__ is guided away, guided and guided away, that is the particular color that is used for that length and not any width, not even more than a shadow.

What does your word mean in a strange context like this? Reminds me of the Fates, who would spin yarn according to however long each person was supposed to live.

Does it mean nothing? No.

something? Yes.

the same thing? No.

something different? Sure.

5064. How much effect does context have on a word's meaning? A lot.

5065. Can you perceive the subtlest meanings of words? Yes!

5066. Do you try to write / say what you are feeling in a true and simple way? Yes.

5067. When you talk / write, how do you tell another person how you're feeling? I use description.

5068. Do you tend to describe the feeling you have, or describe the event that gave you that feeling? The event and the feeling... depends on the person I'm talking to.

5069. Describe the feeling of:

deepest dark depression: A black hole and a grey misty fog settling over you, so much so that you can't even think much beyond the immediate. When your thoughts are pushed into the future, they're only of killing yourself.

sadness: Your expectations were dashed, and so you cry.

being cold: You want to feel warmer so that your heat equilibrium can be normalized. Clothes, fires, slippers, and hugs / cuddles can all fill that need.

being in love: Can't be described... you're just always smiling and being goofy in the presence of the person who you love with all your heart, even through their flaws. You also know that they feel the same about you.

feeling high (about life): You're euphoric and all hyper crazy!

5070. When you described those feelings, did you tell what they feel like so the other person would know... or did you describe events that would make the other person start to feel those feelings? What they felt like.

5071. Love is everything. It is the deepest most intimate connection between two people. It is life.

Two figures moving against the grey. Cherry cheeks, ripe with blood... and with bright fascinated eyes, they lock hands and spin and spin in the swirling snow, faster and faster, until they topple down, a pile of colorful winter clothes, tangled and shaking with laughter.

Which of these are about love? The first one.

Is the second description about love even though it never mentions love? Yes.

5072. Which description do you like better? The second.

5073. Describe these feelings through events so that the person reading what you wrote feels them:

energy: About to start running / sprinting seconds before a race.
misery: Loved one dies, friends hate you, boyfriend broke up with you, you got fired from your job...
loneliness: Laying at home, having been alone for a long time, crying. Nobody's around to comfort you, not even those whom you thought you could count on.
being cold: Standing in the middle of a frozen lake in shorts and a tanktop whilst in the middle of a frigid winter blizzard.
being in love: The birth of your very first child, husband by your side.
feeling high (about life): When everything just works out right.

5074. Which of your descriptions do you like better, the ones in question 5069 or in question 5073, and why? 5069, since a lot of things can make you feel a certain feeling... not just one thing in particular.

5075. The thief _______ that everyone steals.

What word would you fill in the blank with? believes

5076. On 5075, what word would you fill in the blank with out of these (thinks, knows)? knows

5077. How does the choice between these two simple words change the meaning of the whole sentence? It changes it from a belief into concrete knowledge.

5078. Is it important to be honest and precise about all communication? Yes.

5079. Are you ever afraid to write / say / think how you feel? Yes.

Do you write / say / think it anyway, or become intimidated and try to avoid it? I do it anyway.

5080. Are you interested in the deepest most sacred parts of people (and in sharing your deepest most sacred parts), or would you rather keep your relationships casual? It depends on how comfortable I feel with the person, and how long I've known them for.

5081. If you'd rather keep it casual, then what are you afraid of? Being too vulnerable, telling them things that they'd really rather not know, etc.

5082. Are you afraid of revealing too much of yourself? Yes.

5083. Are you afraid of being burdened by knowing too much about others? Yes.

5084. When do you feel the most raw and vulnerable? When someone sees me cry, or when someone knows stuff about me that they shouldn't.

5085. Isn't raw and vulnerable just another way of saying open and honest? Not really.

5086. Every time you are open and honest, there is the chance that someone will hurt you. Will you allow yourself to close down and hide out of fear? Yes.

5087. Are you afraid of being open and honest because you are afraid of hurting people's feelings? Yes.

5088. Would it make someone a stronger person to hear what you really think about them instead of what they want to hear you think about them? Maybe.

5089. Would hearing the truth from people help you be stronger? Yes.

5090. Think of 2 friends, a relative, and a love (or crush, or another friend): Shannon, Karen Choo, my mom, and Anita. (another friend, NOT a crush... I don't have crushes on girls! :P)

5091. Write in the simplest way possible one thing that is true to each person, that you haven't said to them before out of fear (you don't have to be mean, just honest).

Shannon's need to be repetitive and slow about processing information when I've already done my best to process it without unnecessary repetitions really bothers me.
Karen Choo's tendency to be pedantic and detail-oriented about the most trivial things really bugs me. (and I'm an OCDL!)
My mom's tendency to insist that I like certain things when I really don't just shows that she doesn't know a lot about me. I am not stupid or deserve criticism just because I have different opinions than she does!
Anita's tendency to be TOO rigid and severe about things bothers me too. Just go with the flow!

5092. What do you want to hear the truth about from each person?

Why do you keep calling me when I've already told you that I don't require that much phone time from anyone?
What do you really think about me?
Do you really love me like you say you do?
Am I really the help you say I am, or am I just getting in the way?

5093. Do you think you will try to improve the depth and quality of your relationships by being more honest, and by asking complete honesty of others? Yes.

5094. Do you ask people how their souls are? No.

Why not? Because that's a personal matter between them, their mentors (if any), and God.

5095. Say you asked someone, "How is your soul?" Then they asked you, "What are you talking about?" How would you explain the question? I'd just say that I was using a different way to ask the same old "How are you?"

5096. Are you honest with yourself? I try to be.

5097. Can you tell when another person isn't being honest with themselves? Sometimes.

5098. If yes, would you talk to them about it to try and help them grow? Yes.

5099. Does your life seem to come back to and move forward through a certain idea or set of ideas? Yes.

What is it / are they? I'm not quite sure myself!

5100. Write the simplest and truest thing you know in your own words (don't let it sound cliché): God can be there for you when earthly beings can't. I hope that wasn't a cliché.
