Christon's back, and he brought snow! / 2005 Year-End Survey / Boho Shoes and Temperament

We got our promised snow, and it has been coming down all day! I talked to a bunch of my friends about the snow, and noticed Christon was back for good.. yay! Dianne and I both teased him about his bringing the snowy weather from Edmonton over here: he did leave in the middle of a blizzard, so wondered if he was really back in Vancouver, haha. Pastor Edward earned some bricks and bouquets for his sermon: he asked what the Vancouver hockey team was called, told us to give our moms "a big smack" when we got home later (he meant a kiss), and made some good jokes. I've missed hearing Christon laugh and sing, so it's good to know he's back! I got a little card from Helen K. thanking me for my gifts for her and baby Nicholas and thoughtfulness yesterday, and today I got one from David and Rosenda thanking me for my gifts and presence at the one-month baby banquet for baby Ian. Hey, I love my friends. :D

Later, the teens were throwing snowballs at one another... Danielle, Vanessa, Christon, Sheena, and I were kinda in their line of fire! My mom thought that my sister would go to church later since she had to help with the teen Sunday School class, but Quan (one of the teens) said she wasn't there... my mom didn't believe either of us, so she had me call home to check. *sigh* At least Auntie Rebecca didn't bug / harass me about my sister's Powerpoint presentation today, like my sister was fearing: she's been bugging her for the last three months! (Steph got 1.5 hours of sleep, but did text Daniel / Michelle to say she couldn't make it)

I thought I was functional today, but I kept calling the Sunday School toddlers by the wrong names... and there were only six of them! (Rosanna, Luke, Wilson, Clara, Evelyn, and Irene) Maybe my brain was more out of it than I thought... but at least I talked to both Audrey and Benedict about things later on. Haven't talked to either of them in some time, so that was good. (Audrey's aunt just gave her and her sister iPods for no reason, heh) My brother gets back on the 17th... my mom wants me to plan out what I'll be doing that day NOW. I don't work well that way sometimes... knowing me, I'll decide on that day to follow my normal post-Awana routine! Then again, the teens MIGHT have Floodlight that week... but still plenty of time to figure things out.

She makes too many assumptions, so I tried to subtly tell her that nobody ASKED me about Melissa spending some time here while Steph's out of town later this month. (Her: "Oh, you don't mind if she stays with you! Steph says you get along well with her anyhow!" Me: "Stop making assumptions, Mom. Nobody ASKED me about it...") I'd be happy to "show her around downtown and the PNE by bus, and give her an hour in the washroom to get ready" if you ASKED instead of assuming I would just because (most likely) I did so for Aunt Janis in April / May! *shakes head*

Eric H. and I made plans for later tonight when I got home: he said that since he'd told me yesterday that he'd hang out with me, the snow isn't a big problem. Right now, the plan is to go to a Greek place on SW Marine Drive at 6:30-ish (he wanted something different from Boston Pizza, which I was totally cool with)... then go back to my place to listen to the hockey game / blog. Sounds good to me... even though I'm still kinda full from a Pho lunch, it'll be cool since I'm feeling well for once unlike last time a few weeks ago! Good thing Bookworm Deluxe can be played offline... and thank goodness for whiteout, since I just wrote "have a good birthday" (I'm on auto-pilot, and his birthday's in mid-August) in his Christmas card! ;)

Ooh, I almost forgot. Yesterday at Awana, Melia had a gag birthday gift for her cousin Emily (who ended up not being able to make it): it was this big potty training achievement chart, complete with a certificate of achievement... hahahaha! She would have loved that, and gone silly / crazy over it! Heck, it even had Engrish on it: "We are good friend! For my life's too short for waithing when I see the rising." Hahahaha! :D
