Half-price raspberry margaritas, steak, buying books and cards for others, and going for ribs soon
Just went out to run some errands.. I had a steak meal at Boston Pizza. Since Corey was urging me to try sex on the beach (the drink, not any literal construct! :P ), I tried ordering one. The place didn't have the recipe for one on the computer, and I certainly didn't know what was in one. But I got a half-price raspberry margarita instead, so that was even better!
Bought farewell cards for Christon and Tracy; a birthday card for Adela; plus a few (birthday) books for myself, Farrah, Kai Qing, and Jim:
* Eats, Shoots, and Leaves: The Zero-Tolerance Approach to Punctuation by Lynne Truss (recommended by people in certain grammar communities ;) )
* The Darwin Awards 1: Evolution in Action by Wendy Northcutt (Darwin Awards website)
* Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
* The Vancouver Stories: West Coast Fiction from Canada's Best Writers with an introduction by Douglas Coupland (I'm sure that'll be a very good book to read!) [actually, I ended up giving this one to Corey for his birthday... I was going to get Jim Monster: The Autobiography of an L.A. Gang Member, but he has it and already read it, so a hockey book it was!]
I also saw a birthday card with a pirate on it: that reminded me of my German friend Tim, plus various "booty jokes" the Richmond Crew has had. :D
Now I'm off to replicate Corey's experience the other day: steak and ribs as separate meals on the same day! In the interests of fairness: he was carrying around 200-300 pounds of petrified stone for about a mile or so in a wheelbarrow, plus various other heavy items from his grandma's house. I'll be going to Dem Bones with my mother, so she'll pay for it... good thing, as I don't know if my bank account can presently take much more!
