Shanghai noodles and pregnancies
Had a weird dream last night: Connie and Rich were eating Shanghai noodles right out of huge aluminum tins in the church basement while various little kids were drawing on the wall. Then my parents came to drag us all away to a dinner / baby shower. Elaine and her sisters were decorating the gold curtains with green frogs, and Eunice and Eddie were frantically rushing around the house trying to find various things. Eunice's sister Winnie showed up a while later, looking like she did fifteen years ago, only a few months pregnant and with a small child in tow. Her older sister Pauline (who this shower was for) came really late, with her own small child and pregnancy.
All the aunties / grandmas oohed over the little kids, and made sure that they were entertained. When it came time for dinner, we all went to a Chinese restaurant where another party was right next to our reserved table. My mom refused to get us candy from the dollar store, so we went and got our own. After playing with the chopsticks and food and Styrofoam cups, we took pictures (getting the other people in the pics, oops) and then went out. There were people in wheelchairs impeding us, so we had to be patient and wait for them to leave. The little kids weren't too good with that, but they still tried.
That's where the dream ended - no idea why I had that. Haven't seen Pauline and Winnie in years! (and it better not be my brain processing yesterday's dinner AND Frances' baby shower - a month ago - or else!) Now I'm talking to Dan: always good!
