Church and Stella's baby shower... little Ian LIKES ME!

In the car on the way over to church, Steph said that we had Koinonia lunch tickets for next week right before the AGM: oh good, we don't have to fight for seats at Pho / Green Village / any other nearby restaurant! The Koinonia lunch is something our church does on the first week of every month, and it's supposed to be really good this time around since it's the first day of Chinese New Year. (Citrus' dad is cooking, along with a bunch of others... whee!) This meeting I'm talking about is our January church meeting which always seems to coincide with the Super Bowl these past few years. She also asked me where her Christmas present was: I could ask HER the same thing, but didn't since I was kinda brain-dead. Apparently, Dave's mom has also invited us for dinner on Saturday night: good, since I'm hungry after Awana anyhow!

Cindy told me that Dawn reads my blog and learned there about her practicum.. hi, Dawn! I talked to a bunch of the kids and toddlers, as well as my other friends and their parents. Phil's dad said that I could go see his mom anytime: we'll see about my getting all the way out to their place first, haha. (at least Grandma's still doing well!) It turns out that Auntie Rebecca only wanted to check on me yesterday to see how I was, so that was fine! I didn't see Randal today, so I'll decide whether I really want to go to MissionsFest on Friday and email him instead.

After Sunday School, I went to Pho with Phil / Dylan / Christon / Jen / Danielle / Nathan. We discussed a lot of issues: church, Valentine's Day, Christmas potluck, babies, kids, meals together, Memphis Blues, the new church directory (I need one of those!), when Danielle and Citrus started dating, worship, visions for an evening service, relationships, commitment, counseling, Grace, online dating, LavaLife, journal sites, our "type," covering for people, money, etc. Later, Jen and I went back to the church to wait for Andrea, who was in a meeting.

Stella's baby shower was so much fun! It was the first time in a LONG time that I'd seen her sister Elenor: I can't believe HER kids are almost 7 and 10 already! I played with the babies Ian, his cousin Olivia, Megan, Nathaniel, Matthew, and Nicholas. Rosenda (my old friend David's wife) said that her son Ian liked me since he was staring at me a lot: heh, that's good! (he certainly loved Nathaniel's toys!) She also said that David was busy with school and work, but of course had to make time for the baby... it helps that they live at his parents' place! Looks like she'll be lonely with baby since everyone else is going to Hawaii for a few weeks to see Elaine: I guess they'll see how well Olivia travels, especially on takeoff / landing with the air popping in your ears! (poor babies usually cry a lot when that happens, or so I've heard)

Rosenda invited me and Connie to come over anytime and play poker / hang out / play with Ian.. sure, I might do that, haha! When she told us that Ian really liked music, Connie and I had the same thought: he could be like MY BROTHER! (Jon, if you're reading this: your reputation as a talented multi-instrumentalist precedes you with David's wife if you ever meet her!) I told Connie that her niece Megan had expensive taste already since she was grabbing Karen's skinny digicam and other such things... she agrees!

Evelyn and Lily are both pregnant: Lily's due in April, and Evelyn's due in July. I finally met Helen K.'s baby Nicholas, and even held him for a little bit: I hope I wasn't holding him incorrectly, heh. He's a very warm baby, since he definitely gives off a lot of heat... Helen says that he might get that from her! Esther thanked me for the birthday card I gave her recently: she loves the cute stickers, and the fact that I always remember! The only game involved guessing which baby (Billy or Stella) was the first one to do certain things: Stella was the first to use the word "stupendous" in conversation, at age FOUR! Smart girl, haha!

Andrea drove me home, and Jen came along for the ride. She also helped me install my new phone, which works.. yay! We discussed this week's plans: work, thinking about going to Toronto to see Chuck / relatives, going to Chapters to use up my first of three Chapters coupons on books, paying off debts, Pasta Tuesday, etc. I asked them both to sign my blue guestbook: Jen was last here in December 2000! Definitely a good afternoon, if a bit tiring! Right now, Corey's making me look at the titles of some NSFW torrents... aiya! I should also get around to adding Sam to my MSN sometime: maybe this week.
