Hurricane potato fries, privacy screen covers, and curry fish balls!
Jeremy, Nathan, Michelle, Wesley, and Christon finally got here at about 10:40 or so; it had taken about an hour and a half to collect everyone since the Skytrain came every 15 to 20 minutes. We had six people in a five-person car, and Michelle said that she'd once sat across a person's lap in the front seat... that sounds crazy! We discussed the BCIT Aerospace plane, crazy stuff from Nathan like SAUSAGE FESTS / STICKS, the Night Market, and the walk from Ikea / McDonalds / Future Shop / Staples; I privately figured I needed the mild exercise, haha. We looked at privacy covers for Blackberries and iPhones - those can be useful on crowded transit vehicles, for sure! Nathan wanted to get one for himself, and one for Daniel... he later said that there were snakes / pythons we could look at, but they weren't around tonight. FALSE ADVERTISING! A bit later, Nate told Michelle about PANTIES ON HOOPS and the Magic Bra... we were amused when he said that it would change her life, haha. ("You'll never want to go back to Calgary!") Walked around to scout out the food booths, and most of us went to the washrooms they had on site. My olfactory nerves weren't thanking me since these were right by the trash area! Good thing I'd gone before I left home, and didn't order anything to drink at the slightly smaller market!
The deals started at about 11:15 or so (closing time was midnight) - decent skewers for $1.50, lamb skewers for $1, curry fish balls (20 for $5 at almost midnight!), Japanese pizza for $1, hurricane potato fries for $2, fruit drinks for $2 (from $4-5), and much more! Of course, we also had to bargain a little, and heard some HORRIBLE karaoke! My night vision may be going all to hell, but at least Nate looked out for me - standing on a speed bump didn't help, haha. We left after security and the trucks started coming in to pack everything up - I was slow, but managed to evade traffic! Discussed Jon's weird Japanese music (high-pitched screaming optional) on the way to my place, which included an unscheduled scenic detour around the airport. Said bye to everyone, making sure to say that it was nice seeing Michelle, haha.
