Dream of Golden, wrong birthdays, bears, acceptance, and teaching / Meaning of Life
Had a dream where people were wishing Golden a happy birthday on Feb. 8 (his birthday's really Feb. 20) via printout and threads - you could even have FB tags in this kind of thing! He thanked us, and then wanted us to read a story about a man and his two sons who had found shelter with bears. The bears had accepted them pulling a board over the underground hideout, and didn't try to eat them! No idea why I had that one, unless it was Golden's recent FB status about cooking 11 steaks yesterday for his mom's birthday, haha! Also found out something that may save me a lot of tagging time: I CAN DISPLAY MY COMMENTS IN THE REGULAR JOURNAL STYLE!
Relevant Taiwan conversation:
[01:32:55] Corey: sorry, I was working on Trigger Happy TV vocabulary for my class :P
[01:33:53] Corey: this Saturday is the last week of National Lampoon's Vacation, and the next week is Trigger Happy TV since I FINALLY found a full DVD of it (which has subtitles... they NEED subtitles) ... and that's my LAST CLASS EVER at that school, unfortunately.
[12:02:00] Corey: well, you can't wait too much later, it's already 3 AM here, I should sleep soon! I'm pretty much wide awake, though
[12:02:19] Flami: why are you wide awake at 3 AM?
[12:04:06] Corey: well, I went to bed at almost 5 AM yesterday... then I woke up at about 11 since Jane's parents complain (to her, not me) if I sleep late, so then I ate lunch and fell asleep again for a few hours... so I sort of really woke up at like 2-3 PM today...
[12:05:59] Flami: yeah, that'll probably do it...
[12:09:35] Corey: supposedly, I'm working every day as of next week.... at possibly up to two new schools.. but this week is pretty free. I have a private class tomorrow evening, and my movie class Saturday, and that is it this week
[12:10:29] Flami: then I guess you can stay up
[12:14:37] Corey: I think the earliest I'll need to be in class is 10 AM, and that's only if I take classes at another school, not the main one
[12:16:37] Flami: that's not too bad
[12:17:15] Corey: my new main school is an adult place, so it's afternoons and evenings
[12:17:39] Corey: a kids place is offering me 10 AM classes, with high school students, not kids
[12:17:05] Flami: would that finally enable you to get your ARC?
[12:23:59] Corey: I've had one for quite a while
[12:24:22] Corey: I'm getting rid of the school that gave it to me, so I need a new one... it's actually just being transferred to the new place
[12:24:24] Flami: are you lying to me?
[12:24:29] Flami: oh
[12:30:02] Corey: but that place just lied to the government about my hours, and never gave me much to do.. this place is giving me like double the minimum hours, and it should pretty much all be no-prep classes, which saves me a hell of a lot of time... I did a very lazy job today of preparing for my last movie class, and it still took me almost the whole day until after dinner.... I think that's a pretty fun class
[12:30:07] Corey: but it's a lot of work
[12:30:30] Corey: I'd rather spend lots of hours getting paid than lots of hours preparing and a couple getting paid
[12:30:39] Flami: hah... I'd say the same
[12:40:56] Corey: being paid to teach about Ghostbusters and Bill & Ted is nice, though
[12:41:09] Flami: do they understand any more?
[12:44:02] Corey: uh, I don't know. I answer whatever questions they have
[12:45:40] Flami: your last movie class ever!!! :(
[12:53:27] Corey: unless I go back... they said they want me back if things change and I'm allowed to work at that place again :P
[12:55:59] Flami: well, that's a good thing at least

The Meaning of Your Life is Joy |
The purpose of your life is simple: to live it to the fullest. You believe that happiness is a choice, and being happy isn't that hard to figure out. Too many people struggle in their lives. You think they should just let go and enjoy what they've been given. It's easy to find misery, but it's difficult to find happiness. You know that all the happiness you need comes from within. |
