Talking to dead air

one of the joys of having only one phone line is getting to talk to dead air on the phone.. something that I seem to be doing more often of late.. when the phone rings, it disconnects me.. and then sometimes when I get to the phone, the person on the other end has already hung up, thereby disconnecting me for no reason! GRRR.. it's not that I'm unreasonably slow in getting to the phone (heck, it's right there by my computer), but why can't people actually STAY on the phone until they get an answer? beats me..

so YES.. I hate talking to dead air.. and it's definitely not my fault that I do :P
