2006 Survey: Fashion Concept, Achievement, New People
1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before? Had heart-shaped pizza, finished a 5172-question survey, got cable Internet and a huge hard drive, got hatted by the hatbot, had various sorts of ice cream, did LJ dungeons, went to Northern Delicacy for SLB, and saw spawning salmon.
2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year? Didn't really make any, so there aren't any to break. ;)
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Stella, Lily, Lauren, Maxine.
4. Did anyone close to you die? No, thank God.
5. What countries did you visit? The States. Oh, so interesting... :P
6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006? Someone special, better sharing in Bible Study, and a desire to know people beyond the superficial.
7. What dates from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Jan. 4 (finally saw Dennis again after two years, and discovered that my old high school friend Ian Mendes works for CTV Sportsnet!)
Jan. 13 (my Bible Study group totally sucked and didn't let me know it was cancelled!)
Jan. 16 (Erik decided to end our e-friendship because I posted our conversations in my blog... SOME people are sensitive! :P)
Feb. 19 (finished the 5172-Question Survey)
Feb. 28 (got cable Internet!)
March 19 (Mom equated hugging with making out... ewwww!)
April 16 (Randal flipped over four creamers at once during Easter Sunrise Service breakfast, and he is now my sister's new hero :P)
May 1 (figured out the relay bots)
May 24 (we SMASHED the then-record for SLB steamers... not 13, but 21!)
June 3 (Cousin Aaron's wedding to his bride Joyce, notable only for its drama!)
June 13 (finally saw Nina after a few years!)
June 30 (celebrated Randal's birthday with a "surprise" Milestones dinner... seafood salad is expensive!)
Aug. 15 (celebrating Eric H.'s birthday)
Aug. 20 (the first official Sunday Dinner... that praying mantis documentary was SO NASTY!)

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Being able to welcome new people genuinely, instead of looking on it as a chore / obligation.
9. What was your biggest failure? Not living up to certain people's expectations.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Not really... I do have my overall good health, unless you count the CP thing. :P
11. What was the best thing you bought? Not sure... maybe cable Internet. I'd say the hard drive, but I have yet to use it.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Jeremy, Corey, and Eric M.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Erik, Karen C., and Shannon.
14. Where did most of your money go? Food and books.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Not too much, unfortunately.
16. What song will always remind you of 2006? Bob Dylan's Someday Baby.
17. Compared to this time last year, you are:
i. happier or sadder? Sorta happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? The same, I hope.
iii. richer or poorer? Richer, thanks to monthly transfers. ;)
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Spent more time with Big G! (Grandma) Also, spending more time with friends would have been good.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Wasting time in certain places with certain people.
20. How will you be spending Christmas / Hanukah? No idea. Still undecided if I'll help with the kids in the morning. Maybe spending it with family...
21. What was the most embarrassing thing that happened to you in 2006? Besides the money issues? Looking like a klutz in front of everyone (and I do mean EVERYONE), literally. Then again, that happens like EVERY day... o_O
22. Did you fall in love in 2006? Not really.
23. How many one-night stands? Zero.
24. What was your favorite TV program? Random stuff... TLC rocks! (and I don't mean the music group :P)
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Yes.
26. What was the best book you read? Not sure.. too many candidates!
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Dunno if I discovered anything...
28. What did you want and get? Snazzy computer equipment.
29. What did you want and not get? Help with computer stuff... Enrico, I'll kill you... :P
30. What was your favorite film of this year? Pirates of the Caribbean 2, thanks to Eric H.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? Turned 30 (shut up), did the church thing, then had to go to the church appreciation dinner. Had the real celebration a couple days later with some of my true friends, though. :D (dinner at Old Spaghetti Factory, and BLACK DAHLIA later on... Chinese Eric, Jon, Steph, Nathan, Dylan, Teunis, Jeremy, Eric M. [white guy overload! :P], Nina, Karen Choo, Danielle, Jen, and Randal rock!)
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Being able to open my flippin' computer case!!! (half-kidding) Seriously: being able to say a bunch of things to my friends. See above phrase about going beyond the superficial.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006? Did I even HAVE one this year? Maybe weird and crazy, but that's not true... lazy and without flash / brilliance! Like that sounds good... :P
34. What kept you sane? Being able to vent to certain people. ;)
35. Which celebrity / public figure did you fancy the most? I don't know... I wish I had an answer for this one.
36. What political issue stirred you the most? Not really any at all.... I don't think the "boil water advisory" counted as one. :P
37. Who did you miss? Certain old friends who weren't at the church anymore for various reasons.
38. Who was the best new person you met? Maybe Dallas... DURIAN! Haha. Aside from him... probably Teunis, since Benny's off to Montreal. His time here was so short! (I've said it before, and I'll say it again! :P)
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006: Don't let people tell you that certain things are good if you already know in your heart that they aren't. If your conscience is telling you that these things aren't the greatest, you should listen to it and not those people. (no matter what feelings you may have for them!)
